Hi guys, I'm seeking help here as a last resort after trying to troubleshoot for the past 4 hours as to why I could not set up my fiancee's PC anew with the new Samsung NVME SSD 980 that I have bought. I will try to detail as much as possible. At first, she had an old PC that she has been using for years. For simplicity sake I will list only the important parts. If I missed any crucial components, please let me know. Old PC specs: Asrock AB350M Pro4 Ryzen 3 1500X Kingston SATA SSD 128GB Western Digital SATA HDD 1TB Cooler Master 500W PSU Zotac GTX 1050Ti\ Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Her HDD seems to have traces of windows OS, indicating she could have backed up the SSD to the HDD. Now, with the new PC I have built for her, she wants to keep the HDD, which I have formatted by right-clicking the drive and clicking "Format". I took the full format route to NTFS, which lasted about an hour or so. New PC specs: Asrock B450M Steel Legion Pink Edition (BIOS v3.60P) Ryzen 5 2600X Samsung NVME SSD 980(MV-V8V1T0B/AM) Western Digital SATA HDD 1TB(formatted and taken from old PC) Super Flower Leadex Gold 80+ 850W Galax GTX 1060 No Windows OS Supposedly, the result I was expecting was that the new PC will boot as new. Building my little brother's PC was a breeze as we set up the whole windows on his NVME SSD. However, as I boot her new PC up, the BIOS was not able to detect the NVME SSD. I have searched multiple solutions and have tried the following: 1. Resetting BIOS by removing CMOS battery 2. Making sure SATA_3 was not in used(One of the solutions suggested that the M2 slot will be disabled if SATA_3 was used) 3. Reinstalling the NVME SSD 4. Disabling CSM on Boot tab 5. Checking for latest BIOS firmware(not able to update, any further updates might affect CPU compatibility) 6. Booting with HDD(Not able to, it says "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error code: 0xc000000e. You'll need to use recovery tools...) Now at my wit's end, any help will be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I've purchased an Asrock B450m Steel Legend motherboard back in Feburary and it's got the and ryzen 3000 series ready out of the box label. Just wondering if I should update to the latest bios as I've been on many different forums that you shouldn't/should update? What are your thoughts and opinions on this topic? For context I've got a Ryzen 5 3600 cpu

My mother board is Asrock A320M/ac, In the bios I have Ram over clocking but not CPU overclocking. Ive look at some videos and everyone with the same looking bios, have a section above Ram for CPU. In my bios there straight up not there. Overall computer specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660 (Overclock with Afterburner) SSD: PNY CS900 500GB SSD (OS) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (Game Library) RAM: Unknown 8GBF1X08QFHH38-135-K 2x8GB - 108.3% (Dual Channel at 3200) MBD: Asrock A320M/ac (Bios oversion P1.90)

Hi, had a question. I've just built my first PC, and I went to turn it on. Everything was working right, as it booted to the ASROCK mobo screen (ASROCK B365M PRO-F), but, when I plugged in my keyboard, I clicked all the keys for boot options, and none of them worked - there was no input. I was getting RGB and caps lock, but no input. I tried two other keyboards, both of which had no caps lock showing, but one of them, which was the only other gaming keyboard I had, lit up (but, again, no caps lock). I also plugged in my mouse, and it lights up. It's not a motherboard or front panel problem, because the keyboard is plugged into the front panel USB (and is lighting up), and the mouse is plugged into the back mobo USB, and it's lighting up. I know it's not a keyboard problem either, because I plugged in three different keyboards, and I know two of them worked previously. However, I noticed that, when I turned off my PC, my mouse continued to light up, meaning that the USB's are supplying power, but they're not accepting input. Could it be a RAM problem? I pulled some crappy RAM out of an old Dell to save money... it's 2666mhz DDR4, which my mobo supports, but it could still be due to a stupid proprietary Dell RAM problem, so.... Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Since parts are scarce right now I startet my rig upgrade by purchasing 32 GB of Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 3600 MHz CL18 and put it in my old Asrock z170 Extreme3 for the time being. It worked strait out of the bock until I enabled XMP. Then it wouldn't POST. So I put my old memory in, turned XMP off, put the new modules in again and now it's working great but only at the "normal" 2133 MHz. What's to blame here? Is my motherboard not providing enough power for XMP and RGB at the same time? The slower RAM speed is not a problem for me right now but I'm scared that the issue persists when I buy a new motherboard processor combo. Thx for any help and happy new years.

I wanted to create this thread to seek issues on system stability. I'll start with PC specs Cpu: AMD Threadripper 1950x GPU: gigabyte gaming oc black 1080ti 11gb Ram: g-skil trident z rgb 3200 mhz cas 14 (32 gb) MOBO: Asrock Taichi x399 Bios: P 1.50 (Sep. 5 2017) Bios Mode: Legacy Boot drive: Samsung 960 Evo NVME 250 gb OS: windows 10 version: 10.0.19044 X64-based Pc Graphic drivers: Version 511.79 (Feb 14 2022) Monitor (main) asus rog strip XG27u 4k 144hz (2 other monitors 4k are 1080p respectively both set to 60hz) Symptoms: Computer crashes (no blue screens) computer crashes (blue screens, I have **some** of the crash codes but not many). While gaming game screen will flicker (regardless of full screen, windowed, boarderless, vsync, gysnc). Game crashes and instabilities. Seems like all games I play regardless of launcher and regardless of verified game files. Games I currently play (dyling light 1&2, overwatch, cyberpunk 2077). I'm game stuttering (even with 60% GPU usage. Computer set up: The computer was built back at the launch of the AMD Threadrippers. 1st generation. I acquired a 1950x that was supposedly from the original conference/show off of the Threadrippers. Got the CPU for $840 back then. As for the GPU I've had to replace it since the original build of the computer. It's the same brand make and model as the original GPU when the system was built. Old gpu was bricked? No longer functioning so I replaced it. The GPU is built with a NZXT bracket that allows an AIO to be mounted to the gpu. With an additional fan blowing on the VRMS. What I have done: Fresh install of windows. I wiped my boot drive and installed windows fresh (left my game drive in tact(only stores downloaded games)). I updated graphic drivers and the optional AMD drivers when updating windows. I have run a stress test on the CPU and it's fine? (At this point I've only done a 10 minute test. CPU is on AIO so Temps stay below 67C (HWinfo never indicates thermal throttling when using CPU for gaming, benchmarking, stressing, or rendering)). As for the GPU when running the AIDA 64 extreme stress test (that does CPU, FPU, CACHE, SYSTEM MEMORY, GPU) I get a hardware failure detected. Things I've thought to try: Update Bios firmware or MOBO I am seriously up to suggestions so please help.

Hey, I'm struggling with a build I just put together. I have a new X570 Steel Legend WiFi ax and a known good 3950x processor out of my other system. I have multiple kits of Corsair DDR4 3600 memory and no matter what I try I can't get the system to post at all with more than one stick of RAM in it. It's frustrating. It won't do anything with more than one stick. PSU is 750W and the little test video card in it is an RX570 8GB. The system will boot with a stick of RAM in the second slot (proper) and in the first slot (improper, I know). But no matter how I configure it for dual channel, it won't boot. 2 slots populated (either ones) or all slots populated. This is Corsair Vengeance LPX and typically I have no issues with this stuff. The only thing I can find is that the BIOS is trying to configure it in single channel at 2666 at 1.205v when it does successfully boot. Don't know if that's normal. Don't know what's going on. I'm probably missing something, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd be really appreciative.

Hi guys! Does anybody know the lowest possible fan rpm of ASRock rx6600xt Challenger D OC (dual fan model) ? I'm unable to to set fan speed lower than 1440 rpm in the radeon software (at 20% pwm) and don't know if that's a bug or a feature GPU-Z is reporting the same rpm as radeon sw but the percentage is different (20% in the radeon sw vs 43% in the gpu-z in the attached image). Is it possible that 20% pwm set in the radeon sw equals 43% actual fan speed? Another rx6600xt models (according to the YouTube videos) has lower rpm at 20% pwm in the radeon software. Thanks a lot!

I was fortunate enough to come into a small amount of money recently so I went ahead and ordered the new PSU along with the GPU. Since those parts were brand new I decided I should go ahead and tear it down and do a deep clean on it since I never put the side panels on because I knew if I did I would procrastinate and not get it completed. I received the parts on Friday afternoon and about 6:30 I went ahead and got started with the redux of the build. Well about 12 hours later I was finally finished everything, I know you're thinking 12 hours goodness gracious LMAO, I'm disabled so I have to do things in spurts so I don't end up hurting myself any worse than I already am. I know I could use some 24 pin extensions along with the GPU cables, however, I actually love the way this looks because it doesn't look like everyone elses. A little caveat also is my name is Thomas and of course my screen name and nickname being TubbyTubb I know it's gonna sound corny but I love how the GPU cables and the water lines sort of make a big T, like I said corny LMAO. I apologize ahead ahead of time for there being so many links but I have an 108MP camera on my phone and the files are very large so I couldn't just drag and drop them in the box like I did the main picture I used to give y'all a glimpse of what you would see. I welcome any and all critiques and constructive criticism. The only thing I ask is for nobody to be rude because it doesn't look the way you think it should look. This is what I was able afford so I done the best I can. Some of y'all may have seen my other post in the custom loop section. I am planning on water-cooling both the CPU and GPU I'm working on getting all of the required parts to do that in the fairly new future. A couple or friends are sending me an EKWB EK-Quantum Velocity RGB CPU block for free and the other is sending me all of his bending, deburr tool, tube bending tools as well so I don't have to buy everything just to do one rig. I will probably invest in some of my own in case I get an order for me to build someone a system. Here are the pics: Completely finished This was when I originally "completed" it last year This is right after I tore it down you can see it obviously needed a good bath Of course I had the best helper/supervisor you could ask for LMAO I know my cable management isn't the best on some of them I was length restricted Let me know what you think please. Hello everyone I come in a time of great need recently my motherboard died and me and my dad where looking for a new one. We wanted to keep my current cpu (details below) since its pretty solid and we also wanted some room for future expanding. We found the Asrock z390 pro/extreme 4 a good option. We found 2 people who sell the board, a shop owner and a second-hand seller. After asking them about the board they both said that my current cpu wouldn't work. We found that strange because acording to our sources the cpu would work with the board. (wikipedia and intel) We don't know if we are right or wrong so I would like to ask for help on this issue. All the advice will be greatly appreciated! cpu info: Intel Xeon E-2124 Coffee lake, fitting: intel LGA 1151 Our sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1151 and Intel, but I couldn't find the exact website we used.

I know asus has something called ErP ready in bios, that makes a thunderbolt 3 dock work while in bios, and not just in OS. I was wondering if anybode here knew what ASrock names their feature like ErP on asus motherboards? My setup: 9700k ASrock extreme4 z370 paired with an asrock aic tb3 card. Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Plus I am currently not using my dock, because of this issue, that i cannot acces bios when connected via the dock. (keyboard unresponsivve while booting via dock) Dock works fine in windows/macos

Hi, I have the following components: ASRock Z390 Phantom 6 (latest BIOS 4.3) Intel 9700k I have enabled Intel's Platform Trust Technology (PTT) in my BIOS, however Windows 10 seems to be totally unaware of it. It's supposed to be a workaround for the Windows 11 TPM 2.0 requirement. ASRock even mentions it here for my specific motherboard. Yet when intel PTT enabled in the BIOS, Windows refuses to acknowledge it even exists. Doesn't show up in windows security centre tpm.msc says there's no TPM installed No security devices show up in device manager It feels like the motherboard hasn't enabled it at all. Has enyone else encountered this issue? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I built this new PC with all new componentes (Except for a very very old case, but that shouldn't matter, the PSU is new), and it's crashing all the time while gaming. The exact components are: -CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200g -GPU: AMD Vega 8 -Motherboard: Asrock A320M-HDV R4.0 (BIOS factory default 3.70) -RAM: 2x8gb XPG Gammix D30 -SSD: Apacer Panther 120gb [windows] -HDD: 500 gb seagate ssd [games] The PC works, it boots up (And quite fast at that), I can use office programs, internet browsing, no problem. However, when gaming I get constant BSOD, always the same error code: "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER" I tried updating the BIOS from version 3.70 to version 4.00, and I still get the crashes. Last night, I was able to play for about 3 hours no problems, but today I couldn't play one whole CSGO competitive match without crashing. I noticed something interesting, it's always when using an internet browser on the background while the game was on. I guess it could have been other programs, but I tested while watching YouTube videos. I tried a few times, and indeed the game worked fine until I put on a video. It's not instant, and it seems kinda random, but it's what I could gather. Also, for some reason (As of now, I'll keep testing), Other thing that got my attention is the low CPU and GPU usage while playing. It never reached 100% in either of those, even with Vsync off and unlimited framerate. It's not thermal throttle, according to HWMonitor and Speccy, temps were cool at about 40º-50ºC. I'm thinking about downgrading the BIOS to version 3.30, which is the first one to support the 3200g. But I wanted to ask opinions on what to do here, and if someone had similar problems. Now this may be a bit silly but... are short circuits with the case possible? I'm guessing if that was the case the PC wouldn't work at all, but since it's pretty old and uses a kinda different mounting mechanism for the screws... idk, I really don't think so, but yeah... So... If anyone could help me, I'd be extremely grateful, I hope I can find an answer soon.

Last thursday, i finally bought my first custom pc with the spec of : Mobo = Asrock B450m-HDV CPU = Ryzen 3 3200g Ram = corsair ddr4 vengeance lpx pc21000 8gb (2x4gb) PSU = Antec atom v550 550W HDD = Seagate barracuda 1TB SATA 3 SDD = Klevv SSD NEO N400 240GB (where windows installed) The problem start on last sunday i think, where when i boot it up at morning, it stuck at "ASROCK" logo on it, no loading "loop symbol" on it, cant even press button either like delete key or f2. It happen once a day kinda. I simply just restart my pc via case power button, which is worked. But im really worried things might go bad, is there any fix for this ?

motherboard M.2 Drive With Z97X Fatal1ty Killer
Volvo240 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hey, So I am building a budget PC based on the motherboard in the title. I have figured out everything but the SSD. I know it is SATAe, or PCIe 2.0x2. This should be capable of 1,250MB/s, which is ok for cheaper SSDs. My questions are: A: Will I get this speed provided I have a capable NVMe? B: Is there anything in the BIOS of this board that will allow me to maybe use more PCIe lanes, (like PCIe 2. X4) or make it run faster? C: What drives will not be bottlenecked by this interface? I was thinking like a WD Black 2017 or Toshiba XG5 (512GB). D: Aside from those insane AsRock boards, (Extreme6 and Extreme9), is there a Z97 board that will allow an M.2 SSD run faster? I do not want a SATA or PCIe adapter card, as I am going for a specific look with this build, and I need as many free PCIe and SATA connections as possible for future products. Thanks in advance and stay safe! -
I build a PC last year, actually my first ever one. I only had a budget of €350. Here are the Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon RX Vega 8 RAM: G.Skill Aegis DIMM 8GB 2x Disk Drives: 256GB Intenso SSD M.2 2280 / TOSHIBA MK12346GSX Cooling: EKL Alpenföhn Sella Tower Mainboard: ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 Power supply: Inter-Tech SL-500 Plus I think it's a pretty solid machine for my given budget. And now i'm thinking about upgrading it with an external gpu. I thought about the nvidia gtx 1050-ti, but is it really the best option? What would you guys recommend?

Specs ASROCK B550 Phantom Gaming 4 (old cpu R3 3200g(ik its not compatible but it still works as long as you have a discreet GPU and dont use api)) NEW cpu is R5 5600x MSI 1650 super 2x8gb CORSAIR Vengeance LPX (BLACK) 3200mhz W_D 750 NVME/SSD EVGA 600w BRONZE(?) certified Windows 10 Home (x64) System was made July 2020 OS was reinstalled Jan 2021 to nvme from a dying HDD (no problems at all except slow painful time) Now to the nitty gritty. I was using a r3 3200g for awhile because its all i could get my hands on at the time with money budget and didnt check the motherboard support list as i knew it was supposed to support r 3,4000 chips. However no problems every occurred besides the maybe once a month BSOD for a ram compiler error i can never figure out. This is where the problems start. I was aware I needed to update the BIOS to install the new processor so I formatted a brand new USB drive to FAT 32 slapped the newest version of BIOS v1.90, v1.20 was when the r5 chipset became supported BUT I figured while i'm here I might as well get the newest version. I followed the OEM instructions on how to flash update the BIOS cleared the settings when the new BIOS was installed and double checked that the BIOS update was taken inside the BIOS menu. Powered down the machine turned the PSU off and unhooked everything got it to my workstation for grounding purposes. Unscrewed the old fan unlocked and uninstalled the OLD cpu (R3 3200g), took the r5 5600x out of the packaging inspected pins for dirt or bent/missing pins and everything was okay so i slapped her in locked it down fastened the fan pluged her into the cpu fan header and tried to boot. No post. Fans still work motherboards lights still showing VGA/Boot light and i cannot find anywhere in the manual that include the VGA/BOOT light. I took out the R5 5600x and reinstalled the R3 3200g and it boots right up without a problem. I know its not user error at this point and I already returned one 5600x because it was doing this i assumed it came DOA and refunded it for a new one. Well the odds of getting two dead r5 5600x chips are highly unlikely im now chalking it up to being a hardware problem. I first assumed it was the PSU so i ran all the parts currently on the computer into PCpartpicker and got a min wattage of 250 as mentioned above i have a 600watt and deffinitly am not pushing everything to the max just to boot especially since both processors are a 65 watt tdp i cannot see this being the issue seeing as the r3 works fine. Im down to my last legs before abandoning this Motherboard and just find a new motherboard that comes with r5 5600x compatibility from the box. Another friend mentioned i might of corrupted some form of the BIOS or something to do with how the computer reading the chip because i put an incompatible cpu into it. Any help would be much appreciated I dont want to keep guessing and playing 50/50 with a machine i cannot afford to replace completely at this moment.

i have to cool a fx8320 on a 980DE3 mobo from ASRock (yeah i know bad mobo don't judge me) and a lot of people advocate for the cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. asrock recommends a top down cooling system. i found a https://www.cnet.com/products/arctic-freezer-34-esports-duo-processor-cooler-acfre00060a/ witch is not a top down one but i think that it can be compensated by the fact that the vrms are cooled (i think) by 3 fans (2 intake front and side 1 exaust). Can it work? i also want to add that i will not OC the cpu (despite my name :D) if not my budget is around 40-45 euros. any tips

Hello, about 2 weeks ago I bought a broken ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard and was hoping to fix it. I installed a i5 8600k and 8GB of Ram and tried it and it turned on but it would not boot up. I also installed a chassis speaker but it would not beep. I took off the Ram too and it would still not beep, so I was wondering what could the problem be?

Hello, about a month ago I bought a broken ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard and was hoping to fix it. I installed a i5 8600k and 16GB of memory on dual channel and tried it and it turned on but it would not boot up. I also installed a chassis speaker but it would not beep. I took off the Ram too and it would still not beep. I proceeded to try is with an i5 9600k and it would have the same results. So I plugged in a TL460s Plus (Debug Tool) and it would display a the codes 00. What could this be?

Hello everyone! Last week I wanted to set my pre-overclocked BIOS to default ones. After doing that, my computer automatically shut itself down. So i hsed my power button to turn it on again, but my monitor shows that there is no signal. I took everything to apart and found out that my CPU power connector socket had melted a little. I was wondering, if any of my components still worked and figured that I should try them on another computer. PSU, Graphics card, Ram and my HDD were fine, no broken chips under CPU nor dead chips. I put my computer back together and turned it on, but yet no signal. I even removed the battery from my motherboard and some time later put it back in. Asking for advice from the pros! Yours sincerely Herqles
