Help please! Please help me solve this weird boot issue! I just build the following rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QxXFPn The first time it booted into UEFI just fine. The only setting I changed within the UEFI was to enable XMP. After that, my motherboard beeps, but does not boot into UEFI when I hit the proper key, I am only met with a blank grey screen. The weird thing is, I was able to install Windows just fine, and I can boot to it without a problem, it’s only UEFI. I have not updated any drivers, just done the bare minimum of setting up Windows and downloading Chrome. I tried to reset CMOS both by shorting the pins AND removing the battery, no luck. However, did notice that when I try to boot to BIOS, both the VGA and BOOT LEDs are lit, indicating dysfunction. I then tried to reseat my Graphics Card. I also installed the NVIDIA Game-Ready drivers. Now my screen flickers on boot and the Asrock logo doesn’t even appear. It just goes straight to Windows. I tried mashing F2 on boot to no avail. Same grey screen.

i plan on using the ryzen 2600 and when looking for a motherboard i came across the ASRock B450M Steel Legend. i had decided to use this motherboard for my first build. But when inquiring for a parts list i came across this mobo MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX . So now the main question is which one should i go for? I should mention that the store that i plan on buying from has a mobo+cpu combo which for both mobos. this combo includes the ryzen 5 2600 and either one of those mobos i just mentioned. There's a price difference of $5 between the combos (msi is higher) so which one is the better deal? The MSI combo or The ASRock combo

Hello, I just finished building my computer a little over a couple of weeks ago now and I was wondering if anyone knows where the USB header for the Corsair H100i cooler goes on this mobo? I was able to plug in all the other headers for the cooler and it seems like the water pump is working as well as the fans. The only thing not plugged in is the usb header which I assume controls the fan speeds. Anyone else have any experience with this combo? I want to turn down the fan speed of the fans on my reservoir because they're just so freaking loud. I have no access to control those fan speeds, I'm assuming until I can get that usb header in. Thanks and Happy New Year!.....hopefully monkaS

So i have a ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 (AM4) and a Ryzen 5 1600 and go t (2459) as my cinebench score and i was wondering if this was normal. i have just built my first pc with it being this one and was also wondering what exact cpu could i upgrade to without having any issues with Mobo with the cpu tdp because i was wanting to upgrade to a ryzen 7 2900x and a rtx 2070 (current gpu is an xfx rx 580 4gb oc edition) and i was wanting to know if i was able to do these upgrades without having any issues- 1 reply

So I bought a 2200g and I was wondering what would be the best overclock. Right now, I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition. I'm using a ASRock B450M-HDV and it has a 4 pin CPU connector. Please tell me if that is enough power, or if I can even overclock at all with this board. I am also using a Corsair CX500M 500 watt power supply.

I'm planning to buy the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB RAM but it doesn't say that my motherboard (Asrock Polychrome) supports Corsair RAMs. I heard that Corsair has its own software for their products. Will my PC turn on if I use the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro on my Asrock B450 Steel Legend motherboard even though it doesn't support the RGB? I think it's just the RGB that it doesn't support, it would be weird if it doesn't support the RAM itself. I'm also considering to just get the Team Elite T-Force Delta since Asrock Polychrome apparently supports it. Is there a big difference between the T- Force Delta and the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro in terms of performance? Also which would you guys prefer?

Really wierd issue thats bothering me, i recently purchased a Vengeance pro rgb 3200mhz 2x8 kit. When i install the kit on the first channel A1 - B1. The pc fails to boot with XMP. When i put the kit on Channel A2-B2 the pc boots fine with XMP on, everything fine, can pass prime95 ram stress with no sweat. Why can't i boot on the first channel with this kit? is there something wrong with MB? My old kit with 2x8 3000mhz from corsair boots fine on the first channel. Specs: 8700K @4.8 on a Asrock Z370 Gaming K6, latest bios. tried cmos and issue still persists, if i lower the frequency to 3000mhz the pc boots fine on first channel. Is there any downside to using the second channel?

About a week and a half ago I built my first PC and just last night I discovered this white mark on what I believe to be part of the motherboard vrm or some sort of power delivery (it looks like a small black plastic block, just above a pair of silver capacitors to the right of my ram slots). I'll also post an image for reference. My PC still seems to run fine for now, just moments before I was benchmarking. According to MSI Afterburner the vrm temperature did not go past 40° while doing so. I mostly want to know if this is anything bad enough to rma the board. The motherboard in question is an ASRock x570 phantom gaming 4, and I am running it with a Ryzen 5 3600x on stock cooling, Team T-Force Vulcan Z 3200 RAM, a reference XFX RX 5700, a 256gb Sabrent Rocket SSD as a boot drive, a 2tb Seagate Barracuda HDD, an Intel A200 Wifi 6 M.2 card, and an EVGA 700 GD power supply. I'm not overclocking on it save for using XMP profile settings on the ram.

I have this basic B450 Asrock board that I got for cheap and I was wondering if a Ryzen 7 2700X would work fine at stock settings. The CPU is incluided in the support list of the motherboard. Also, if it works fine, would it make sense to upgrade the motherboard in the future? I mean, I know the 2700X is not good for overcloking acording to GamersNexus.

Hi Guys, I just bought an Intel Core i5-9400 processor to use with my ASRock B365M Phantom Gaming 4. I would like to try overclocking, which I have never tried before; is there a guide/process to safely do this? Thanks in advance.

I have bought the motherboard first because I got a deal. Now I have to buy the CPU and RAM and I've heard that Ryzen has some ram compatibility issues so I want to be sure about which frecuency and model should I go with. Hi all. I purchased a used gaming computer for pretty cheap. Inside there was an Asrock Z68 Pro 3 board with an i5 2500k, 8GB of Corsair 1600MHz RAM, an EVGA GTX 780 and a 680W Psu. The computer ran fine when i tested it before I bought it. When I brought it homr it fired up right away without any problems aswell. Since it had no HDD or SSD I couldnt get into an OS, which is fine by me because I checked everything out in the BIOS. Now I took it apart to clean it up and saw a burnt chip above the PCI-E 16x slot. Im not sure exactly what its used for but I don't believe its for anything important, since the board works perfectly. I haven't tested it in anything heavier than just browsing around and I am afraid to do so because of this. I'm scared about it shorting out or something like that when I try to run a heavier task like a game. If any of you know what that chip actually does I would appreciate it! So all this is is an error in my reliability history. I'm not actually noticing any problems that are effecting me just a reoccurring error that happens in the background when I start the computer. ASRock wants me to RMA the board though. They didn't really listen to anything I said in the support request. I was just trying to report this for their next driver update, they first blamed my graphics card, and when I told them that I didn't have this issue with the same graphics card in my last rig, they sent an RMA link. I don't think it's necessary to RMA the board over this though. I'd really like to hear from someone else who has the z390 taichi, but I can't find anyone ever to check to see if they have the same problem for me. I make forum posts here and there and they never got answered. Like, I really need to know this. I really don't want to go weeks without a computer over something so trivial, but at the same time not knowing whether or not this is a serious hardware issue is driving me bananas. What do you guys think? Here's the reliability history error: Faulting Application Path: C:\Windows\System32\audiodg.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: BEX64 Application Name: AUDIODG.EXE Application Version: 10.0.17763.134 Application Timestamp: 1cb1ad5b Fault Module Name: StackHash_ef15 Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Offset: PCH_2A_FROM_ntdll+0x00000000000A01B4 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 0000000000000008 OS Version: 10.0.17763.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: ef15 Additional Information 2: ef152224cfb056c292640ec09ea987fd Additional Information 3: ea91 Additional Information 4: ea917d99455f0df512576d95997a6eef Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: 1b8446a178a83e514b3489f91f78310f (1960343440880840975) Please, please please check your reliability history and confirm whether or not you have this error in there as well. It's titled something about windows audio graph isolation and when you click on it and expand it, you get what I posted above. Thanks.

Hello, I'm wondering about how to install a M.2 SSD in an ASRock AB350 Pro4. I have everything in place but in the manual it says to "tighten the screw" and I have no idea which screw. None of the screws I have fit the standoff. What do I do?

I set an AVX offset of 4 while doing this overclock and it's only supposed to kick in during AVX workloads, but it's constantly flipping back and forth between 5.1 and 4.7ghz while under any kind of load even while using the prime95 version that specifically doesn't use AVX (version 26.6). I thought it was just doing this in simulators at first which do use some AVX stuff, but it's doing it in everything. It even bumps down to 4.7 periodically sometimes while idling. I tried updating my bios already so it's not that. Is this normal? 9700k, asrock z390 taichi, gtx 1080, samsung 970 evo 500gb, fractal design s36, 16gb corsair 3200mhz vengeance RGB pro, etc.

I have an ASRock AB350m-Pro4 motherboard and a Ryzen 2200g and my processor stutters a lot in program/games. After a bit of searching, I realized the only to fix my problem is to update my BIOS to a version later than 4.70 (on this page https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS8), but I'm kinda scared to go mess around in the BIOS and I have 2 ways to do it. One through Windows and one through Instant Flash. I don't know which I should do, but right now I'm leaning on the Windows way. However, in the Windows way it says I have to make sure I'm not overclocking anything, but I have XMP enabled for my RAM to run at it's advertised speed of 2800mhz. So I don't know of that will affect my BIOS update. Can someone tell me which way I should BIOS update and if there are any problems with having XMP enabled while updating the BIOS through windows? Thanks. Windows Way (https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=Windows9) Instant Flash (https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS8)

Hi everyone,I recently upgraded my system to an ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 6 motherboard paired with an i7 9700K processor. I noticed in the BIOS that the "Load Optimized CPU OC Setting" was not listed/showing at all under the OC Tweaker tab - - this is a standard setting with ASRock mobos to my knowledge. I was previously running an ASRock Z270 Extreme4/i5 7600K and that OC option was available. Also, I have seen multiple review pages/vids on the Phantom Gaming motherboards and it seems that the CPU EZ OC settings are only showing if running an 8th gen processor. But they aren't an option with the 9th gens. Does anyone know why this is? And is there a way to enable it? I have updated the BIOS to version 1.30 and that doesn't change anything. I have also read the user guide front to back and it shows the "Load Optimized CPU OC Setting" listed under the OC Tweaker tab. Again, for whatever reason, the EZ OC setting doesn't seem to be available if running a 9th gen processor. See below for my current system specs:CPU: i7 9700kCooler: Corsair H115i ProMotherboard: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 6RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4 16GBGPU: GTX 1070 Ti FTW2PSU: Corsair TX750MSSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GBAny information would be greatly appreciated.

CMOS settings wrong tried multiple boards
Toshi_141 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I need help and I'm not bad with computers but this has me stumped. Problem: I have an ASRock G41M-VS3 and it was working two days ago but the one RAM slot was giving me problems and I had another identical board lying around so I rebuilt the system into the other board (board 2) but it wouldn't post so I built the system back into board 1 and it also wouldn't post but after clearing the CMOS it would boot to a error screen saying that the CMOS settings are wrong and resetting to default settings by pressing F1 made the system not post but clearing the CMOS gets me the error message. If I clear the CMOS and go to the BIOS and change anything (it literally does not matter what I change) then save and exit it does not post. What I have tried: I replaced the battery. Updated the BIOS. Cleared CMOS multiple times. Tried different Graphics Cards (on-board does not work). Swapped out ram. Tried a bare bones boot but no post codes. Well just no post codes period except when I clear the CMOS and get the error screen. I also then tried with an older board (Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2C) that still worked two months ago when I used it last but that also did not post. I don't think its the RAM or CPU as I should get post codes with that but I don't and PSU looks fine. Any advise would be appreciated. Hi. I have a bit of a problem. I updated my ASRock Z97 Pro4 BIOS, from BIOS version 2.50 to 2.60. When the computer restarted, the POST went well, windows 7 professional x64 started loading... and bluescreen, and then the option to try to restart or check for windows repair options. I reset the BIOS to default settings, no luck. I downgraded the BIOS back to 2.50, no luck. The message I receive, is that something was changed in Windows - but I made no changes to Windows at all. I have not even updated tonight, because there were no updates available for my system. Is this a motherboard or OS trouble, and is there a way to correct it except for getting a new motherboard or System Disk?

Hi, I'm at the end of my latin. got this used build super cheap, its all up and running for a year. But lately I wanted to clean it all up a bit and finally resolve this one issue left with the ram. The problem is memory isnt working in quad channel. If I input the dimms in the official layout A1-B1-C1-D1 even with cmos clear in between every stick, the C1 isnt recognized in UEFI main menu or windows. In the UEFI system browser and HWinfo the stick is shown, but oddly in HWinfo for the first time when I boot up with reseated ram it will identify quad channel running. If I reboot the second time after reseating then HWinfo is showing triple channel like in the UEFI main screen. If I try to boot from C1 only I get 19,b0 debug codes. I tried 2x dual channel with A1-B1-C2-D2 and C2,D2 werent working in this case. I tried putting in the DRAM values manually in the BIOS, cleaned the CPU, checked for bent pins on both connections, reseated it, all with no success. I repeated previous steps after a BIOS update. I think I can exclude defective memory, because they are working in slots A and B. So the issue seems to be incompatibility, defective motherboard, defective CPU (which I really dont think I checked 2x and didnt see anything, also the system is very stable besides that) So what am I left with? Try another kit of RAM or another CPU or MB?

Hi, need to ask one thing. Should we consider motherboard capability in overclocking? I'm using Asrock AB350M-HDV and want to try OC my 1200 to 4Ghz with 1,4Ghz. Is CPU temp the only thing that matter, or is there motherboard capability I should consider too?

Hi guys, I'm from Indonesia, sorry for the bad english language. I want to ask whether it is possible to force the PCI e 16x slot speed to 16x rather than 8x? I just bought this new motherboard, it doesn't have anything attached to the PCIe slots rather than my graphics card. I'm using GTX 760 Ti 2GB, on the PCIe slot 1. I tried moving it to the secondary PCIe slot and it wont boot up. I tried install and reinstall the drivers using DDU and it still won't work. Can anyone help me?
