Hi guys, I've been a long time viewer of LTT, but a new member to the forum and I've got a little bit of a head scratcher here. I just got my 4th 2080ti from an EVGA RMA and it's showing artifacts in Youtube videos and Heaven benchmark runs. I sent back 3 2080ti black editions for similar problems (the first one sparked up, the 2nd had full on space invaders, and the third one wouldn't output a VGA signal after waking up my PC from sleep.) They upgraded me to a 2080 XC Ultra, but when I plugged it in, I started seeing the same Invader artifacts, but no shutdowns or other issues. I called up EVGA to complain, and they mentioned that all the cards I sent them worked on their test bench, and even the card they sent out was fully tested before shipping. They mentioned my GPU might be getting "dirty power". Does anyone here know how to help, or has anyone been in a similar position? I'm running out of options. Could this be a PSU issue? Hey, my roommate has a weird problem with his pc and i am at the limit of my knowledge. His computer randomly crashes and displays a ton of artifacts on the screen (see pictures). Most of the time it happens while gaming (WoW in his case) but it also happend while watching youtube. I had him log HWInfo but could not find anything suspicious (Log should be linked). His setup is not overclocked and has no new hardware that could cause the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hey! I have a MSI RTX 2080 SEA HAWK X, I have 3 monitors connected to it through DP. Up until now it has worked fine, but I now have horizontal lines across two of the monitors every time I start the computer. They do not appear when in BIOS or outside Windows, but as soon as Windows is loaded they appear. They do disappear after a while, I have to turn my monitors of and on, or disconnect an reconnect them in order to make these lines disappear after a while. It's like the card needs to warm up to fully work. Is this a common issue woth RTX 2080? Is it a hardware issue? Can I fix it myself? Starting with the RGB on my cooler pump/rad fans freezing and the USB disconnect sound repeatedly going off and reconnecting about a week into building the PC when playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I thought this was just new PC teetering issues, as it only happened when using an xbox controller with the 2.4ghz dongle for it. That issue happened once while playing Rocket League then it never happened again so I forgot about it. Recently I got Cyberpunk 2077 and upon playing the game for about 15 minutes the RGB on the same components plus my ram completely froze and the framerate completely plummeted (high settings with nearly max Ray Tracing on 3440x1440), I could still pause and the menus would respond with the cursor but no input would work. After a hard reset of my PC I relaunched the game to see if it happened again and after 5 minutes the same issue occured (mostly at med settings with no ray tracing), I reset my PC again and opened task manager and HWmonitor to see if there were any anomolies anywhere, I relaunched the game and got about 20 minutes through and it froze again after I paused the game. Again menus and task manager and HWmonitor would highlight when I hovered my cursor over them but wouldn't respond to any input, I didnt see any problems in the HWmonitor or Task Manager the only thing I wasn't sure about was my GPU was at 100% usage but my temps were fine (mid 60s avg). Again I reset my PC but uninstalled CP2077. Tried playing RL, but it wouldnt get past the loading screen, I could force close the game through task manager. This happened 3 times in a row. Then I tried Apex Legends and that wouldnt get past the intro. When I tried to force close the game with Task Manager little solid black and clear boxes started popping up on my screen. I obviously got worried and reset my PC, updated my drivers and that seemed to work so I redownloaded CP2077 and all the issues came back after launching, after uninstalling again I ran a DDU on the system, downloaded the latest drivers for my GPU and AMD chipset along with updating the bios to the latest stable version. This seemed to have the desired affect, Until 3 days ago (28/8/21) those little square and rectangles started showing up but only when I was scrolling through my emails and a form I was filling out on the internet. I done some research and couldn't find anything. The next day I launched Apex and the game would keep black screening, unrecognising my 2nd monitor and then crash and the desktop would only show on my main monitor and the other wouldnt recognised any signal. I'm honesly so lost, I want to see if there is any fix to this at all. My last resort is RMA and warranty, just because of the hassle, and not knowing what the issue actually is. I've reseated and swapped my ram around as well as the GPU and still having the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PC Specs: CPU AMD Ryzen R7 5800X Motherboard ROG Crosshair VIII DARK HERO RAM 4x8 Corsair Vengaence RGB PRO 3600 CL18 GPU ASUS RTX 3080 Strix OC Storage Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVME Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVME PSU Corsair AX1000 So yesterday i posted about GTA V crashing and i got nowhere, today i tried some new solutions and i got these artifacts after it crashed: I guess I'm wondering if this might be RAM or CPU related, or if it's guranteed a GPU issue? The GPU has not been overclocked other than the standard ASUS OC mode in GPU Tweak II. I also tried setting it to the normal mode and closing GPU tweak, and while the artifacts didn't show up again the whole system froze and GTA turned into this negative type image before the system shut off (sorry my camera didn't focus properly). Memory is running D.O.C.P and cpu with a curve optimizer OC that I have had run stable with in multiple other games like Valheim/CS:GO/Valorant etc over many weeks before I started trying to play GTA. During my GTA troubleshooting I have tried turning both the ram and CPU down to default values without this preventing the GTA crashes. Also I get these faulting dlls when GTA crashes and no artifacts are shown: This is general: Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2245.0, time stamp: 0x604262e9 Faulting module name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2245.0, time stamp: 0x604262e9 This is more gpu related as far as i know and did show up before and after DDU in safemode and Nvidia driver reinstall: Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2245.0, time stamp: 0x604262e9 Faulting module name: nvwgf2umx.dll, version: 27.21.14.6611, time stamp: 0x60749ec6 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll has also shown up as the faulting module To be fair i just installed AMD Chipset drivers and uninstalled them again as a troubleshooting step for GTA, aswell as uninstalling ASUS Armoury Crate before the artifacting happened. The freeze-> shutoff in the last picture has happened multiple times over the last couple of weeks after opening gta multiple times after it has crashed in the same windows session. I also have some memory dumps i can upload if anyone is capable of reading those for me. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am currently helping my friend to fix this issue he got. He says: "I was playing rocket league last night and suddently I got blackscreen. I restarted the PC and got another blackscreen." We already managed to boot into safe mode and we saw this (picture 1: log in screen) He logged in and the first thing he saw was this error message: We tried to reinstall the graphics driver but it shot at us another error message: Error 182 (in the AMD installation sofware) I personaly think it is a dead GPU, but I want to be 100% sure that it is indeed dead GPU before I tell him to go buy one. Could anyone pls help us? Thanks in advance Steapn

I'm running a system on a Ryzen 5 3400G for approx. a month now, and for some reason these past few days I've been having weird issues with artifacts on my screen. This artifact would appear out of nowhere whenever I did thats kind of heavy for the system. I've been recommended in a previous post (one that I didn't have time to reply to and hence why I made a new post regarding my issue to avoid reviving my old post that hasnt been active for a few days.) to use DDU to reinstall my graphics driver. I did just that, but I didnt reinstall my drivers just yet just to make sure it is indeed the drivers and not a hardware related problem. After a few minutes, I received a IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL BSOD. Is this normal for a machine that just had its driver removed and not reinstalled yet? or is it something else? Heres the picture of the artifacts as well as the BSOD. WhatsApp Video 2021-06-12 at 00.01.46.mp4

Hi, so I have recently purchased a 240hz VA panel curved gaming monitor from samsung. It was on sale for a great price and it was an upgrade from my 75hz IPS. I want to use G-sync in slower-paced games like RPGs, etc. so I want to have the monitor in adaptive sync mode by default and I only turn it off specifically for FPS titles where I want the least input lag and I don't mind tearing etc. Sadly, I am experiencing some issues that i haven't noticed on any of my previous monitors, thus I cannot be 100% sure whether it's just me not knowing how to properly set everything up, or whether these issues just come up with more of these faster panels or something. I have tried calling official Samsung tech support for my country, but the people were absolutely incompetent and just kept sending my call to the repair centre (which does not do tech support, only repairs if that makes sense) as soon as I mentioned stuff like FPS, refresh rate or response time, so I feel like it's pretty safe to say I will not find help there. My "rig" is a little outdated now, mainly due to the state of the supply, since I was planning a big upgrade this year, nevertheless, here are the specs that I think might be useful: MB: Asus ROG Strix B-350F Gaming CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 RAM: 16GB (2x8kit) 3200Mhz GPU: MSI 1050ti GamingX 4G OC (or whatever, simply and MSI 1050Ti 4GB) PSU: BeQuiet! System Power 9 - 700W (since I was planning the upgrade) OS: Win 10 Home Link to the Monitor on displayspecs: https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/1d361a17 So one of my issues is that I don't know what values the "response time" osd setting actually represents....the options are only "standard, faster and fastest", so if anyone has this monitor and figured it out, please let me know. I have tried nearly every combination of settings in the OSD, but no matter what I do, some sort of issue always creeps up, either smearing, tearing or ghosting / overshoot. In some games it's non-existent to my eyes. In others, it is unbearable at times. The biggest offender seems to be CS:GO, where on certain fences (not all for some reason) I notice very clear bright overshoot (inverse ghosting if I understand what I'm seeing correctly) I don't know what to try and change anymore...I have played with stuff like triple buffering in NVCP, setting FPS limits, and so on and I am getting lost in all of it. Another HUGE issue for me is that when I cold boot my pc and log into windows while adaptive-sync is turned on, my screen flashes black for like a quarter of a second and then goes back to normal and everything works fine, I have no idea what is causing this. Another issue is this sort of flickering that occurs mainly on loading screens. The fps goes low while a game is loading and when adaptive sync is on, my screen starts flickering (it seems as if only the brightness level was flickering, not the whole image in and out) and my mouse gets a "doppleganger" behind it that looks inverted when i move it while this issue occurs, not the usual mouse trail. Disabling adaptive-sync in the OSD fixes thhe flickering, and significantly lowers the corona or overshoot effect in some games, but it is a pain to buy a g-sync compatible monitor and then not be able to use g-sync. In some games, it's enough to just play with the response time setting in the OSD and leave g-sync on, which eliminates the overshoot, but the loading screen flicker persists any time g-sync is on. If you see any part of this that you might be able to help with, please share your ideas with me. I will gladly address the issues one by one, i understand the amount of stuff I'm saying might be overwhelming and chaotic. I feel the same way trying to set this up . If anyone notices this thread and thinks they might be able to help with setting this monitor up well (OSD settings and NVCP settings), it would be a life-saver for me, since I am no longer able to just return the monitor and go look for a different one. I will gladly provide further screenshots of settings or any other info necessary, but I dont want the "introductory" post to be even longer than it is now. Please help. For any tips you can provide, thanks in advance guys.

Hi, I've been recently having some issues where certain elements of games flicker in and out of existence, stretch, or are moved up for a few seconds. Here are some videos which allow you to see this issue better: GTA Online World of Warcraft 1 World of Warcraft 2 Furmark Test Some screenshots of the issue Userbenchmark with all overclocks off I've tried disabling all of my overclocks, updating my graphics drivers, and changing in-game settings. These issues seem to have came up once I disabled my overclock on my CPU about a day or two ago. I used to clock it at 4.0Ghz, however I disabled it to be 3.7Ghz with 4.3Ghz turbo. I also recently was playing around with my memory overclock, which was changed from 2933Mhz to 3200Mhz on 3000Mhz RAM. However, once I saw these problems I clocked it back to 2933Mhz. I also tried putting everything's clock back to what it was when it was working, and I kept getting the same problems. It seems like the issues have to do with 3D, however I could be wrong. Both games I tested were on different drives. WoW was on the 970 EVO and GTA was on the SP. Also, about a week ago I started noticing that when I load into World of Warcraft for the first time that day, I get extremely low FPS (around 10-20) for about a minute, until it went back up to around 90 or so. This issue didn't seem to persist for very long though. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Hello! I am new to building computers and working with hardware, and I am experiencing issues with my Gigabyte RX570 Here is the hardware in my PC: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 1TB Seagate ST1000DM010 HDD AMD Ryzen 5 3600 + WraithStealth Gigabyte RX 570 GAMING 8G MI (rev.1.1) Corsair TX-M Series 650 Watt 80 Plus Gold Certified PSU If there is anything I am missing I will reply with all the information needed as I am inexperienced. The issue is that I can see artifacts on the screen before Windows has loaded (in the UEFI too), see image, and the problem began after I have played League of Legends while recording my game and playing a Full HD Video in the background. The BSOD appeared, similar to the one in image, after which the artifacts began to appear constantly. The first thing I did is download DDU and remove ALL drivers in Safe Mode. After restarting, I tried to install the drivers from the official gigabyte site, however the BSOD appeared again mid-install, and I could only run Windows without crashing in safe mode or with my GPU disabled from Device Manager, artifacts constantly present. I have tried everything regarding DDU and AMD Cleanup Utility, absolutely nothing helped. I then continued to install a clean version of Windows, removing all information stored on the computer (including personal files), which didn't solve my issue. I also must say that I have returned this card to scan.co.uk BEFORE (Yes, I had a similar issue twice, and twice, the card was working perfectly until a certain moment) where they have tested the GPU on their hardware (attached the screenshot of their email) where they didn't find any errors, and after I received it back, it ran smoothly until everything above happened. So, I am certain that I am being stupid and doing something wrong, or the problem lies elsewhere. Completely giving up on the drivers and the amd utility, I found on some forums that I need to reflash my vbios to stock settings (since this is a "MI" card), and I found three F6 files (F60, F62, F63) that suited my card. I flashed ALL three with restarts in-between and nothing helped (I made a backup of the original). As my final try, I have found a Reddit tutorial on how to bios mod my GPU, and I tried to decrease the MHZ to default frequency (image) and tried to flash the vbios with those, to no success. While doing the above, I found a program called HWiNFO64 that allowed me to see the GPU sensors (image). So, my two main problems are, there are artifacts on my screen, and my PC crashes before the drivers can be fully installed. Almost forgot to mention that my old GPU is working flawlessly (Nvidia GTX 750ti), but because scan have said they tested the RX 570, I refuse to believe that the card is faulty. I think this is quite the case for all the PC Sherlock's, and I hope this case will be solved, because this is really my last cry for help.

So, I recently bought a Gigabyte Windforce OC RTX 2080ti. I have been having artifacting and crashing issues with it. Just note that I haven't done any overclocking whatsoever; all I have done is put it in a test bench. In addition, it has to be the GPU since everything is fine when I put in an RX 5500XT. Lastly, if you do not see the artifacting, it is those small horizontal lines that show up during gameplay. Luckily, if it is not fixable, I can still return it. However, I'd rather not. Thank you! Hello Everyone. Sorry for my bad english. i was using an rx 570 for about a year now.. but yesterday i got a 1060 6gb from my friend .. it is working fine in 2d mode but after launching any game or benchmark it starts artifacting like crazy.. i underclocked it with afterburner and it is stable at 1500 mhz of core clock .. i just wanted to know if it is better then an rx 570 even after underclocking it to 1500mhz? or is there any way to fix the artifacts.. btw it is an hp oem 1060 6 gb single fan.. i am down to flash bios or do crazy stuff with it if it could run stable at stock speeds.. i know there is not a huge diff in performance of these cards but i stream alot and nvenc encoder is quite good that's why i want it to work so badly Any suggestions would be helpful

Hello everyone, I've run into issues with artifacting with my Gigabyte Windforce OC RTX 2070super. The artifacts are reminiscent of small green "space invader"-like pixel bunches (see picture, the artifacts are not there when I'm taking a screenshot). The artifacts appear even during light loads e.g. video decode in youtube (but only in fullscreen) and gaming from fallguys to doom eternal. Also I've realized these appear (more frequently) once I'm running my TV in 4K or my full array of a 1080p and a 1440p monitor and my tv in 1080p for example. Disabling screens or lowering resolutions help with the issue. Sadly my GPU is basically just out of warranty System specs: Gigabyte Windforce OC RTX2070super AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite Corsair DDR4 3200MTs CL16 2x16GB Corsair CX750M I've got a Fractal Design Meshify with 3 Silent Wings fans (2in+1out). Things I already tried for troubleshooting: driver fresh install, BIOS update, OS repair, OS clean install (Win10->WIn11) I've also seen problems with my memory/GPU temperature in general (60°C idle; constant 80+°C while gaming+thermal throttling) so i tried: cleaning the system, more aggressive case and GPU fan curves, undervolting, change of GPU die TIM and change of memory thermal pads (ordered high quality ones after miserably failing with no-name chinese ones). That got my temps down to maybe 50°C on idle and way less thermal throttling... but still the card is doing well worse regarding thermals than 3 years ago. GPUZ is reporting memory die temps at 70°C idle. So over all with the way the artifacts show and the increased memory temps I think the main suspect would be some sort of defective memory? Is there anything else you guys can think of? This is my last cry for help... else I'm going to try and survive with the card until the releases of Lovelace, ARC and RDNA2. Thanks alot for your help!

Hi, I bought new card a few weeks ago and then some artifacts like that started to appear https://imgur.com/a/yuutcDB . My card was overclocked from factory so I think it can be the reason. I set up graph of frequency and voltage like that https://imgur.com/a/5hJy8bk . Now problems doesn't happens, but voltage in simple is 0.755. Does it much more than regular 2060? Some people told me that it could shorten gpu's life. Also I have warranty, so could service center declain it because of that?

Hey so I've been running into some trouble recently. Ever since I swapped my motherboard my gpu has been acting up recently. Basically I had been getting strange artifacts when I would sleep my pc and wake it up and watch yt for about 15 minutes get something strange pc screen goes black and gives me an amd report bug tool. This actually seems to be fine now... however this time I booted up valorant and my cpu actually went to a surprising 100% utilisation and went black and actually had to force shutdown (kill power) I'm praying it's not my gpu that's dieng however my processor is very weak and might not be pairing with my gpu well but who knows and ideas? So i downloaded Battlefield V just last night like i said in the title , and these white boxes started scaring me when i first saw them but it calmed me down a bit as well knowing they are just around vehicles tho i am still concerned , are these artifacts ? or are they a game bug or are they just the seats in the vehicle ? i am sorry for my paranoia i just really need to make sure my pc is safe. The file is too large to attach even though its just a 9 sec video so i have created a reddit post and will link it to there so you guys can see the video https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/tjilqp/unusual_artifacts_appearing_on_screen_for_a_split/. but I have been experiencing this issue for about a month and a bit now, some backstory to this issue. I was experiencing some trouble with a game, FPS wise.( The issue being on the games end not mine). At the time I didn't know this, therefore I looked up a few fixes for the issue. Some of them included clearing the dirextX cache via disk clean up, other were updating Nvidia Graphics card drivers and the last one i did was deleting all the contents in the DXcache in Nvidia file. I first cleared DirextX cache via disk clean up and performed a Nvidia card driver update and then I cleared the DXcache. This is when I first encountered the weird artefact for a split second. However, after the initial split artifact no other problems, issues or artifacts appear. My GPU temps are normal both Idle and underload, my FPS and performance in games is normal. Also it only appears on my main monitor and not my second monitor. I looked up the cause of this issue online and people were saying various issues, like failing hardware, bad drivers. I performed a DDU and it didn't fix the issue, also I ahve a 3070 OC edition but I haven't done any overclocks myself to it. Any advice would be greatly apricated. i dont know if im posting in the right place, but i seem to have a serious issue and i cant even find what it is. the card in question is a RTX 2080 msi duke 8gb. it all started with artifacts in discord. one day i opened my discord as always and it was like this: pretty recent, i didnt have any problems with anything else but my discord was like this. i searched for it and i found that some ppl had the same issue. and it might eb from discord. i the restarted my computer and it was all gone. after 2-3 hours again i opened my discord and it was just like this, i got worried and opened furrmark and did 2 half an hour stress tests, one on 1080P one on 2k. note that these started with dips in fps as in instead of 150 normal average they gave like stutters about 20-40 fps. i do experience this in games too like elden ring but i thought its just loading stuff in the Vram and thats why its happening because after a short while it goes away in game, the same as during test. during the furrmark tests there were zero artifacts. my windows defender found a PUABundler:Win32/FusionCore in install core "threat" so i thought its maybe from that. i removed those, updated my driver and everything went normal. today this happened again on youtube too, so i thought yeah something is wrong. this is not just discord. i searched an searched, the artifacts im looking at are not similar to render artifacts and someone mentioned its because of gpu sag, my card is a 3 fan model so i thought yeah that is definitely it. i put a thick piece of foam as support, i also DDU ed my whole driver and reinstalled it. and everything was normal again. but performance hits hit me playing elden ring and i thought maybe some of my Vram is having problems not all of it. i used gpumemtest which said everything is ok, used furrmark rog edition which has an artifact scanner and again everything was fine. i used 2008 video memory stress test, which said my memory was only 3 gigabytes (it seems to be the software cap) and i used memtestG80 which has a ton of errors, every 128Mib block tests from iteration 3 every random block has a lot of errors for example: Random blocks: 301806 errors (31 ms).(memtest apparently isnt compatible with gddr5 or later) note* these cards the 2080 series had a bunch of bad memory at some point, because of bad chip issues or something i dont remember correctly but steve had a video on them. please tell me this is not a scrap card, im not ready to buy a gpu at all... if there is any way that i can stress test my Vram like rammap for system memory, please tell me. any help or nudge in the right direction is very much appreciated. i am indeed very scared. thank you in advance for all the help!

Hi, yesterday my PC was just fine. Today it won't recognize my gpu as "a valid VGA card" on a boot and if I skip this notice message, I am welcomed with what you can see on this video [youtube.com]. Also I noticed that the DP port I have been using till now is dead, monitor knows there is something but nothing can be seen - all black and the other DP next to it shows the thing on video (before I had Valve Index plugged there). This doesn't happen when I plug my laptop to my momitor via hdmi, so monitor is probably fine. When I tried different DP cable, same thing happens. If I use the third DP port on my gpu, I don't get any artifacts at all. What is going on? GPU is being detected in windows (task manager can see) Things I tried: DDU drivers (because why not) Disable RAM OC/profile Can I do something about this or is it time for a RMA ? Setup is in attachments (HWINFO dump) MOSSSHINE.HTM

Building a PC from spare parts. The PC's BIOS menu is basically unusable due to constant artifacting and black screens. The MB reports a GPU error via the VGA light on the MB When I boot into Windows 10 there are no errors. No black screens or artifacts at all. Running GPU stress tests in OCCT has not reproduced the issue either. Only during startup/BIOS BIOS is updated to the latest version, and this issue occurred before and after the BIOS update Build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NaClKnight/saved/M6YHWZ CPU: Ryzen 2600 MB: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite GPU: AMD R9 Fury X PSU: EVGA BQ 700 This PC ran smoothly for months until yesterday, and I have not installed or removed any components recently. Furthermore, HWInfo reports that the GPU and VRAM are both idling at 30C after booting. My only inkling that something is wrong with the GPU came during a stress test where the VRAM reported temps 20C higher than the GPU core after only 3 minutes. I've never disassembled this GPU but maybe it's time to do so, and reapply thermal paste/pads?

What is this? Never happened before on my rig. It only happened when connecting to G2 (gone after restarting computer). I've been using the PC and playing demanding games without any issues . P.S: SteamVR seems to be crashing a LOT also, especially on Half-Life Alyx. My rig is an i7 9700k and a 3060 ti with 32 gb of ram
