I have the 9th Generation Apple iPad 10.2 Inch, and it works great, except since updating to iPadOS 17 I can't open Safari. All my other apps will open just fine, and my sister's iPad (same model), running iPadOS 16.1.1 is opening Safari. I've tried fixes on the internet and they haven't worked. Any suggestions?

So I'm not sure how to ask but can you check if apple has loaded a program or update that drains batteries of older model phones. -The Issue i have an iPhone 12 mini that is mainly only used for work calls and nothing else. I disabled automictic updates like apps and syncs like emails but do update and sync on weekends. now generally on full charge with little use in the day the phone would be around 40 percent by end day (5am-8/10pm) and could still most often last two days without use. however, a week before the new iPhone 15 was to be released my phone suddenly started acting funny and its battery died way to fast, now on full charge at 10pm i would wake up to it at 44-30 percent at 5:30am (my work alarm) and if i go to work with a full charge (100% at 5:30am) it be at 20% by 2:30pm and that's with data off and Wi-Fi off (also tried airplane mode). so I'm going to get its battery checkout, but can someone ask around if this is common (or a way to test this) there also been a new OS update the phone did 2 days after the battery problem started. edit 09-25-23 So i doubled check every app and battery info. battery says its max cap is at 88% total and it did have the optimized charge and clean energy on but it turned them off now. also i check battery (Battery use and activity) and history for the last 10 days especially the days it drained fast and there's nothing running in background except home screen.

I updated my iPhone 12 Pro Max to iOS 17 yesterday. I created a contact poster, and choose the option for it automatically show when I call people in my contact list. Today, 24 hours later it still doesn’t work. However, when I call someone in my contact list (running iOS 17 as well) the contact poster doesn’t show up, just a grey background. And yes they also have me as a contact. I noticed a lot of people are commenting the same thing in this video: Anyone else having this problem?

Considering the iPhone 15 will launch on the 22 September, is it likely that iOS 17 will launch the same date? If not, when?

After reading some of the price rumors about the new iPhone 15s last week, I decided to take a look at the inflation-adjusted price of every iPhone model at release. What I found kind of surprised me. If the price rumors are true, the base model iPhone 15 will be the least expensive base model iPhone since the original was released in 2007. A bit of a narrative violation! A few process notes: - I looked at the starting price price for the least expensive version of each model. No memory upgrades (where Apple typically makes a killing). - This is based on the US price for an unlocked or unsubsidized phone. No carrier discounts. - Inflation calculations are based on the US BLS inflation calculator and are measured from July of the release year to July 2023, the last month data the BLS calculator has inflation data for. I've attached the key chart, but here's a full write up of inflation-adjusted iPhone prices with some additional visualizations.

The iPhone revolutionized the smartphone industry and put one in nearly everyone’s pocket. But the iPhone didn’t appear from nowhere - it owes much of its inspiration to the ill-fated Apple Newton.

I can play GTA: San Andreas with a PS4 controller on my iPhone. I can install and play the iOS-version of GTA: San Andreas on my M1 Mac from the Mac App Store. But how do I use the PS4 controller with iOS games on my M1 Mac? I can activate a "controller simulation" feature from the app menu, but it wants to use the keyboard and trackpad. The controller is connected via Bluetooth, and when I press the PS-button my Mac shows a folder with games. Anyone with a M1 Mac that can use a PS4 controller to run iOS games from the Mac App Store?

Hi all, Silly question but, do I go for the Air pod Pro Gen 2 now or wait till the announcement in a few days? My friend seems to think they're going to announce new Pro Airpods. I'm skeptical that this will be the case. All I can find online is that it's likely to be a port upgrade only and now new Airpods. TIA

A couple of years ago there was this scandal when it came to light that Apple was purposely slowing down older iPhone models without acknowledging it. There was a WAN Show segment about this. Tim Cook even apologized in multiple interviews, stating that Apple did this to increase battery longevity of older models, but acknowledged that he understood why people were upset and promised that they would put in a switch in the iOS Settings-app where the user could choose between keeping higher performance or keeping longer battery life for older devices. Now, many years later, in 2023, where is this switch?

Does anyone know why the iPhone's built-in iOS Mail app only refresh for new emails when you enter the app or when you put it on a charger? It refuses to get new emails in the background automatically (unless you have it on a charger where it immediately gets new emails in the background without opening the app). I'm using a Gmail and also an IMAP (domain from one.com) accounts. Push is used as capture method from the server. This seems to be a very widespread issue considering the recent reviews of the iOS Mail app: https://apps.apple.com/se/app/mail/id1108187098 The reason why I can't use the Gmail app is because I prefer to have one mail app for all accounts and the Gmail app on iOS doesn't support Swedish Å Ä Ö for IMAP accounts since they get replaced with ? ? ? when sent to matter how you tweak the settings. Also I don't trust the security of third party mail apps.

How do I submit iOS bug reports to Apple? They hade their Feedback Assistant app, but it requires you to join the beta/developer programme. Is there really no way to report bugs for a publicly major iOS release without enrolling in these?

Hello, I want to ask a 2 part question. If anyone can help, I got an iPod nano 7th gen from eBay, and I thought It needed a new battery but it did power on but none the tuch would not work the sleep wake would not work as well as the volume up or down. So my question is can the ribbon cable that is in the red be removed and repalce if yes how. Now for the 2nd part the one in yellow the back cable brokeoff the top part of the tab and I am unable to remove it from the Connect to on the board as it's stuck in there is there any way to remove it. The the yellow has So much water on it that it looked corroded. Thay when I wend to pull it up it just Ripped off with it out the Connect to bean removed. I have already posted this on ifixit as well.

Hey so I'm wanting to get an iPad or tablet under or around $1000 NZD(around $580 USD) for Uni/Poly-tech and wanted some advice on what to get, I'm doing a musical theater course and also play in my church Worship Team and wanted to use an iPad or tablet to read and annotate scripts and sheet music, also would be nice to connect an external monitor and audio interface(at the same time) to record audio if possible but not essential. I was thinking of getting the base model 10th gen iPad(64GB No Cellular) with apple pencil and zagg Messenger Folio 2, I don't need Cellular or lots of storage as I have a nas, would this be good for my needs or is there something else that would be better? Could you also suggest cheaps/budget folio keyboard case? I also currently don't own any apple products if that helps. Any advice would be much appreciated.

How long does it take to backup 1,5 TB of data to iCloud Drive?

How long would it take to backup 1,5 TB of data to iCloud Drive with an internet upload speed of 50 Mbit/s? I live in Sweden. No, I don’t want a NAS. -
Is there someone else that can't update their iOS right now? Me and my family has been trying all day on our iPhones but we get an error message saying that the servers can't be contacted and a "Try again" button. Anyone else having the same issue? Does Apple have servers in Sweden so can it be local to Sweden? iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone XR.

Hey Guys, I am using an iPad Mini 6th Gen for my helicopter training. It works good for me but especially during the summer in the pretty warm cockpit the iPad often goes into the Overheat mode. There are special aviation cases with cooling but they are really bulky and really expensive, so my question is: Is there someone out there who had similar issues with the iPad Mini or maybe someone with a FLIR cam that could show me the typical hotspots so I can try to DIY some heatsinks or something over the area to get rid of those problems? i know pretty edge topic but I believe in the community having already solved this :) Any help is much appreciated

Today I bought the Apple Lightning to Digital AV HDMI Adapter (the original one for 700 SEK (70 USD)). It worked with my iPhone 12 Pro Max for the first hour, but when I disconnected it and later tried to re-connect it it wont detect it no matter what. I've tried...: Disconnecting and reconnecting the adapter multiple times. - DIDN'T WORK. Swap out the HDMI cable. - DIDN'T WORK. Connect it to multiple different monitors. - DIDN'T WORK Connect it to an iPhone 13 Pro and an iPhone XR. - WORKED! The lightning port on my iPhone 12 Pro Max is fine, it can receive power with no problem and output sound to headphones when using wired Lightning EarPods. There's nothing stuck inside the lightning port. I've tried disconnecting the iPhone 13 Pro and an iPhone XR multiple times but they seem to work every time (they're my mom's and dad's so I can't test them for multiple hours since they're not my phones). iPhone 12 Pro Max is running iOS 16.6, iPhone 13 Pro is also iOS 16.6 and the XR is running iOS 16.5.1.

One thing that bugs me about the Apple’s HopePod and HomePod Mini is that we get locked into what Apple considers a good speaker. Don’t get me wrong, as someone who’s owned all three generations of HomePods they do sound great for what they are. A while back I saw the tear down by IFIXIT about the Mini and it got me thinking. Apple, surprisingly, didn’t use a proprietary connector for the speaker, nor did they solder it directly to the PCB. Apple used screws! This made me think, can I connect the Mini to any speaker I want? The answer is yes. Yes I can. Fast forward to today and I decided to see what makes the Mini tick for myself. It’s surprising simple on the inside. Other than the weird fabric cover it was easy to take apart AND put back together. I forgot to take pictures as I was working on this little project but I did take some after shots and the guide by IFIXIT does a great job at explaining things. After removing the original speaker I used my trusty soldering iron to take the funky little terminals that Apple used and slapped them on some normal speaker wire. From there I removed a few of Apple’s little sound slots near the power cord to run the speaker wire through, a corresponding hole in the mesh, slapped it all back together, and hey presto I had a HomePod Mini that I could connect to any speaker I like. I know that there are AirPlay 2 adapters out there and I could use an AirPort Express (I’m already running several of those around the house) but I wanted to have the smart features. Being able to use my voice is convenient and it works seamlessly with the other HomePods I have. If you can’t tell by now I’m a wh**e for Apple. (I do have a gaming PC though) The Mini seems to have more than enough to power the speakers I’ve thrown at it. I’m labeling this as revision #1, I plan on changing some things in future versions. Some of the things I have in mind are: Finding a location to run the wires out of that allows the Mini to sit without needing a stand Figure out how to get both layers of fabric put back into place Maybe install some type of terminal instead of hardwiring EQ board??? Built in battery I should also make it clear that I am not a sound engineer. I am a manufacturing engineer. If you’ve made it to the bottom of this without jumping to the comments then I appreciate you. I know there is a lot that I did wrong here, I do not have the equipment or knowledge to do this “right”. As such, here are some other things that I am aware of: No clue what the built in amp can safely handle No clue if Apple has any safety features built in No sure what the ohm rating of the speaker that Apple used is I’ve glanced around the World Wide Web and haven’t found anyone else doing this but if anyone knows of a similar mod I’d love to know about it. Let me know if you think this is stupid or if Apple should create a smart speaker amp.

Apple’s M2 Ultra powered Mac Pro is the final step in their Apple Silicon transition. But without GPU support or meaningful expansion, is it worth nearly double the price of a comparable Mac Studio?
