I don't usually make forum posts (You'll see me on the subreddit virtually every day though.) but for this I decided to. So I've been having some fun learning 3D modeling/animation on my own and decided to make this, I've made a few others like it but none as good as this one, it's a animated lockscreen for your android of the LTT logo, I'm actually really glad I decided to make this when I did because in making it I stumbled upon something I'd been trying to figure out how to do for another one I'd been working on for some friends (It was a simple thing that was staring me right in the face but I somehow missed until I made this.) so it was good practice. The models I made were about as high res as my system was going to allow without tanking, each one took 30 minutes to render for a whole 15 seconds, and that was after I screwed up rigging the camera and had to render them all again because the top/bottom of each one was slightly cut off. There's 2 in total, one that should fill your screen from side to side and another smaller one, I might do some more since I'd made some slightly thinner models just to see how it looked but these were the first to come out and I liked how they looked on my phones screen. They should loop almost perfectly (I don't know why but there is like a .05 of a second jitter at the end, it's happened with a few of my other attempts.) but I doubt your lock screen will be up long enough to see that anyways. There's a dropbox link to download them, I'll attach them to the post as well so you can see what they're like without going off site. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i31sq68spctko77/AADdi1rvtQ3S_TUXwNF7oi72a?dl=0 Just a little note I'll put here for any LTT staff, you guys are free to redistribute this if you want, you don't need to credit me or anything I do this stuff for fun/practice. Linus said on the WAN show he wants to move away from orange so maybe I'll do some versions in other colours. 500 med.mp4

Hello. I am looking to buy a CPU. The title is pretty self-explanatory. With that said, here are some of the specifics of what I need: - Best bang for the buck - the i5 is $241 and the Ryzen 5 is $188 (should be able to get a mild discount on whichever I buy, but prices won't deviate too much); - 3D and 2D (nod) animation, editing, and rendering - no crazy effects or over-the-top particles, but I do expect "production value" to increase with the improved system; programs are Anime Studio Pro and Blender 3D (if it matters) - Gaming - 1080p, 60fps; AAA titles; I know benchmarks depend on the specific game, so I'm asking about the overall gaming performance, and - - futureproofing (I know this is hard to tell, but I just want to know it will not become irrelevant/dated fast as did Kaby Lake); - Best match for either 1060 6GB, RX 580, or 2060 (haven't decided on a GPU yet); - I am not looking to overclock; Note: The prices are shown in US Dollars, but they actually reflect the regional equivalents; that is why the numbers look so random. I will update if I come across better offers/prices; for the record, Ryzen 7 1800 might be an option, although I can't find one at the moment. Katarn

I know it’s a little strange to ask this here, since most of you are more gamer I assume. I do some indie animation work, and I’m having trouble choosing a suitable graphics card for my workstation, the problem is that I want to keep the budget down, but the quadro costs a lot. Now my single character have polycount of 100k quad faces, and I’m thinking about give a higher level of subdiv, which will bring the polycount to around 300k. So if a quadro really necessary for this? oh, by saying “necessary “, if using a quadro can improve a lot handling these polycount, or give a much faster render , or less render errors than a normal GeForce one, I will take it as necessary. Time is the most expensive thing after all.

Heres a little test thing I made for LMG's new channel, ShortCircuit! The idea was to have something that transitions seamlessly with the video Let me know what you think

I made my account here several years ago and from what I remember there is a group of people on here that like anime so I thought I'd share it here. I made a fan animation for Cowboy Bebop, working on a much longer one (more then one scene) but decided to finish just one scene to get a feel for it.

Game Design issue! this code is supposed to check if an animation is done playing a.k.a. reaches a certain frame, yet I am having trouble with it detecting those conditions. Because it does not detect those conditions the animation/sprite keeps looping which is not what I want to happen. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! I'd like to find a laptop for 3D content creation (modeling, animation, rendering as well) while I travel. What should I take into account? So far I've learned that it should contain: i7 or Ryzen and up - do threads matter, which generation is best? 1050Ti and up - what other graphic card's parameters I should look for? 16GB ram and up Thanks in advance for any tips

Hey guys, So I've been looking into 3D modelling and animation and as part of that I want to create some models/animations that I would then go on to use in a project like a game for example. The kind of animation I'm wanting to do is to animate for something that doesn't have a set constant. It's kinda hard to put directly into words so hopefully an example will better explain it. If I wanted to animate a character picking up a glass and I have multiple different sized glasses I want to have an animation that would stop as it grips the glass regardless of the diameter of the glass without clipping into it, or leaving a gap. Similar to if I made a character hug another character, I would like it to tighten the hug to the size of the person he's hugging and go no further. My question is, is there a name for this kind of animation or does it even exist and if so are there any good guides/tutorials for it Any help appreciated Thanks

I started this build around 2 years ago and it's finally coming to a close. After all this time I'm starting to get a bit impatient and want to finish it up now if I can. What I Already Have PC Case - Corsair Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower Case Motherboard - Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 GPU - Geforce GTX 1080 TI CPU - Intel - Core i7-8700k 3.7 GHz 6-core Processor SSD - Samsung 860 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" What I need CPU Cooler - Im thinking something with watercooling (had the NZXT RL- Cooling with Software controlled RGB Lighting on my list) $156.29 - Amazon RAM - I had the G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 on my list $159.99 - Amazon HDD - Im not sure if this is necessary at first for me to start using my PC, but I had the Seagate - Barracuda 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch on my list $59.99 - Amazon PSU - Had the EVGA Supernova 650 G3, 80 Plus Gold 650W Fully Modular, Eco Mode with New HDB Fan, 7 Year Warranty, Includes Power ON Self Tester, Compact 150mm Size, Power Supply 220-G3-0650-Y1 on my list $89.99 - Amazon Total: $466.26 USD Budget I have around $300 USD to spend on these remaining parts, but I could possibly go up to around $350 USD. Aim I am building this PC for high resolution gaming, 4K if possible; 3D modeling, Uv Setting, Rigging, Animation; 2D Animation; VR Gaming; Sound Design; etc. Monitors I plan on running at least 3 monitors at one point. Im using one for now. The one I have now is really bad, but Ive got another monitor in mind that I'll buy at some point, that being the Dell - S2417DG 23.8" 2560x1440 165Hz Peripherals If anything I would just need a Windows OS, but if Im not mistaken you can transfer Windows from an old PC to a new one? If I missed any details don't hesitate to ask me about them, I won't be offended or anything. I'm here for help. Also, if it comes down to it I am 100% willing to wait a few months longer to get the last remaining bit of cash to buy all the parts already listed above in the "What I Need" Section Thanks so much for taking time out of your schedule and day to provide advice. Last Question I don't need to buy thermal paste for any of this, do I?

Budget (including currency): 2000$ +/- Country: Poland (I know, but still give advices based on your country if you see fit) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: PC for gaming, 3d software (blender,zbrush) and game engines, laptop for ocassional 3d work, bringing to college, light work on go Other details: Okay, here is the thing. I want to build a PC + Laptop setup that will last me for the next 3-5 years. I want my PC to be responsible for most of the heavy work, I already have all the peripherals so I just need PC itself. I'd love for it to be packed in a relatively small case, other than that I'm looking for total advice as to what to buy since I'm not a tech wizard. I'd love my laptop to be ready for daily travelling, doing notes during classes and ocassionally modeling something or similar task. I'm opting for a small screen, up to 14 inches max. Long battery life with still some power to offer. Hope you guys can help me as this is a really confusing shopping time for me

Programs used will be Blender, Adobe Creative Suite and Unreal Engine. Could you please recommend a PSU, GPU and monitor? Also, feel free to correct the parts list. It is not finalized yet. My budget is around 1500-1600€. Monitor should be IPS and 4K. I was thinking about the AOC U2790PQU 27", what are your thoughts? Would this do the job? Regarding the PSU, will a 550W be enough or should I go for a 650W? The one thing I cannot really decide is if I should go for an NVDIA RTX 2070S or AMD Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX 5700 XT 8G OC? I am sort of waiting for the prices to drop after the new releases in September.... What do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Budget (including currency): 1500$ is a limit Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Gaming, 3D Software, Animation Hi! I'm planning to build a PC under 1500$ that will get me through college and maybe even longer. Workloads are mentioned higher, however on that note I want to play most of the upcoming games on settings higher than medium for the most cases ( I know that some titles like RDR 2 are exceptional so medium settings are gonna be enough too). I also want to have decent rendering times while doing college work in Blender etc... I already have a monitor: AOC 24G2U and all the other peripherals so that's not a thing to worry about. Is that build of mine decent? Should I upgrade something while still in that price range? Or maybe I can save up on something and won't notice that much of a performance cut? Thanks for the help in advance can't wait to hear your opinions! I have asked this in a few other places but I am still on the fence about a few things. I have been modding to include creating my own models and animating them. I mod for Skyrim, the fallout series and ARK games that are not twitch reflex needy. I have been using two 21 inch monitors for all of this while also using my gaming rigs monitor (LG 34GK950F-B 34" 21:9 Ultragear WQHD Nano IPS Curved Gaming Monitor) for some model work. One of the 21 inch on my render rig is going out and I am getting tired of using a hair dryer on it. I have already decided to upgrade to a 27 inch or above. Where I am on the fence is should the monitor be 2560 x 1440, 2560 x 1080 or 1920 x 1080. The monitor would serve several purposes. I even thought two monitors of different resolutions to split tasks. Non curved, IPS. Rather it be 16:9 vs 29:1 Mod creation: so non curved, (3d modeling, animation, photo manipulation and texturing) wide color gamut and all that. Coding: I am teaching myself coding so having a larger monitor I can put into portrait mode would be of benefit. Day Trading/Stock stuff (need a lot of real-estate and the monitor might sit further away so kinda thought 1080p) probably also non curved Gaming: I have an RTX 2060 and sometimes it struggles running Borderlands 3 on high with some custom settings on the 3440 x 1440 plus it is ultrawide and I am still not sure how I feel about gaming on an ultrawide things look a little strange. The curved thing is cool however this is the first large monitor I have ever had so I cannot say how cool it is over say a non curved monitor of similar size. Productivity: I plan on keeping one of the 21 inch for running programs while using my xp-pen 22 for my work and using the new larger monitor I get for reference image or the other tasks above. I considered 4k for modding. I mean if you are making 4k content might be nice to have a 4K monitor. The justification is just not there though. A lot of factors going into modding and while I like the mods I have made I don't really see a difference in texture from making them on a 1080p to seeing them in game on my 1440p. So I am looking for input from game content creators or game devs, stock traders, people who 3d model and animate and coders/programmers. Actually anyone that has any insight or experience with the types of monitors and sizes I have mentioned. I apologize in advance if this seems all over the place. Thanks

Hello! I'm currently looking for some advice on some good 3D Animation, and Video editing laptops that I could use in college. Obviously a laptop is in no way ideal for this, but with a college dorm and traveling, you don't have much of a choice. All the uses will be: 3D Animation and modeling using Blender, video editing with premiere and possibly other programs, recording gameplay at 1080p 60fps, and many other things. My budget for this will be anywhere from $1,000-1,600. Cheaper is obviously better for college, but I need quality over anything else. Here is what I've found to be the best so far, but feel free to nit pick it, and recommend better. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-1tb-hard-drive-256gb-solid-state-drive-aluminum-black/6211744.p?skuId=6211744 I hope you guys can help out, and that I gave enough information!

Hey guys, so far I know how to animate a coin that moves from left to right, but I want it to spin 360 degrees while moving from left to right. Can someone tell me how to do this? This is the code so far in css: html { background: #d2d2d2 } .coin { } .coin img { animation-name: roll; animation-duration: 8s; } @keyframes roll { from {transform: translateX(0)} to {transform: translateX(2300px)} }

Hi Guys, I would like some advice from you guys. I'm planning on building a workstation PC which will cover a range of different uses including video editing, 3d animation, modelling, After effects and perhaps the odd game or two. I have got an idea as to what specs but I like some other ideas too if anyone has any. I would prefer a Nvidia graphics card and Intel. Thanks Wintoons

In my current system, I have a 6800k X99 intel CPU, 16GB vengeance lpx, but a shitty graphics cards and okay monitor. I've been doing a more and more unreal engine development, and really want to get into computer animation, things like cinema4d, etc. Irrespective of costs, what GPU and potential monitor setup should I be looking for? Do i need a hardcore GTX1080 or does a 1070 work? thanks for any input

Hey guys I need a decent build for 1100$ for work ( photoshop - illustrator - adobe flash - blender - after effects - premier) gaming (fifa 18 - pubg - overwatch - bloodborn) my main issue is that the prices here in egypt go a little higher than amazons prices so i will prefer if there is subtitutions for each part. thanks
