I did post this on reddit and someone said i should post it here. I made this while i had some free time. There is no SFX and i just wanted to make something not distracting to the eye and short. 3D and 2D combined. I used C4D for the cube animations and after that i change the cube colors frame by frame with masking because there was some lightning issues. Hope you like it! I was planning to do more animations like lower third or product info screens etc. but i couldn't get a reply from them so i wanted to share this with you. Have a good day!

"Epic Games launches MetaHuman Animator to capture high-quality human faces with an iPhone" - GamesBeat ( News Article ) Epic Games + UE5 (Unreal Engine 5) released a new piece of tech to help animators & game Developers animate faces Traditionally a face motion capture rig was needed , but is now available to hobbyist's and anyone , all within a new I phone app . Now making animating facial motions for Film + TV , Games and animation easier . there is also an option to use this with a stereo HMC for a more "greater visual fidelity" . This also works with the Metahumans Creator . for an easy pipeline to creating and now animating character's quicker and easier before . You can check out this Demo video of it being used - By Unreal Engine What I think : This new technology looks great , If an animator like myself , Once a tedious task of facial animating faces ( without the high expensive tech )Will become a breeze and Will definitely come in handy . Epic and UE5 have a reputation of having high quality things like this , Like there Quixel Megascans asset library . I also think with the budget of Epic Games . there is a advantage that competitors may not be able to beat something like this . This for sure will now be seen in new game titles . And I'm exited to try it out for myself. This i think will be a huge step into giving smaller artists and studios , cool and cheaper motion capture solutions Sources GamesBeat ( news article about this topic ) : https://venturebeat.com/games/epic-games-launches-metahuman-animator-to-capture-high-quality-human-faces/ Unreal Engine Article / Product page : https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/metahuman?utm_source=GoogleSearch&utm_medium=Performance&utm_campaign={campaigname}&utm_id=19729682794&sub_campaign=&utm_content=&utm_term=meta+human+creator Demo Video - Unreal Engine : https://youtu.be/bIGnx2jvrbg (Let me know if there is anything i missed or done wrong , First time posting a Tech new article )

how do i upgrade my 32gb RAM to 64gb on a later time? Money constraints. That is why i just opted for a 32gb in the meantime so i can start on working. I do After Effects (video renders & editing, motion graphics, animation), Photoshop, graphic designs, some 3d modeling & sculpting. Recommended to me was to get a 64gb RAM for the creative work. Will use this all for work and no gaming. I got a G.Skill Ripjaws 32gb Dual kit / 3600mhz / ddr4 / cl16. Board- MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 (memory slots = 4) CPU- Intel i5 12600K So.... how do i upgrade my 32gb RAM as 64gb on a later time? 1. is it better if i should just replace it with a new 64gb (16gb x4 sticks) later? 2. or can i just add another dual 32gb (of same specs) making them a total of 4 sticks (32gb dual + 32gb dual) 3. Will there be an issues with my option2?? ...since i know it is recommended to get RAMs by kits and not mix 4. What will be the difference (for creative work, NO Gaming) of a 64gb-pack-of-4-sticks...VS...two-kits-of-dual32gbs(having 64gb in total)? Provided they have the same specs of 3600mhz / ddr4 / totaling 64gb. 5. Furthermore question in case you are still reading.... will there be an issue (there's always a "but") two-kits-of-dual32gbs if they have different latencies? For example- i have an existing cl16 from my 32gb dual kit today. But only cl18 (but same 32gb dual 3600) is available at the time i can buy/upgrade later. So, is there a big issue in this case?

Hello. I replaced my HDD in my Xbox One X because the old one had gone bad. I followed a tutorial on how to format and replace my hard drive. I formatted the hard drive correctly, did the Offline Update with the OSU1 file, plugged the hard drive back into my computer and I put the bootanim.dat onto the drive. I put the drive back in the xbox and still no boot animation (starts up fine) I pulled the drive back out of the xbox and plugged into my PC and the bootanim.dat file that i put into the drive prior just disappeared, poof, gone. I am not sure but it seems that its deleting itself for some reason? I formatted correctly, offline updater worked just fine, i put the bootanim.dat file in both A and B folders, made sure to get the latest file for the boot animation.. I am at an impasse and it's been bothering me for a long time now.

Budget (including currency): $2000 but am willing to go slightly over if needed Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'm looking for something good for 3D animation and design, capable of running blender, unreal, and adobe suite, but also capable of running games, I mostly play single player rpg games Other details: currently using a gaming laptop with a GTX 1050 and i7-7700HQ, I also have an external 8TB drive that I use, so I'm not worried about increasing storage, I just put whatever I need onto my computer when I need it. I have two monitors currently that I use, a very bad 1080p 60hz monitor and a goamon drawing tablet, but I want to get another monitor down the line. I already have most of the peripherals that I need. Budget (including currency): 15 years old with job + no bills = unlimited over time. CAD Currency. Around $3k CAD for PC and Monitor. Everything else separate. Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Roblox, Minecraft, most FPS games, Streaming, Content Creation, mods, future games he may want to stream, possibly animation and/or drawing with a pad. Other details: - Build help from a IT professional (me). Have not done a consumer PC in a while though! - Upgrading from a sad refurbished office PC with no graphics card. - Prefers things that just work and look great (Hence no water-cooling)! - PC Partpicker list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/3XdrsL (manually entered prices after tax for purchased items) (Anyone foresee problems with this build? Suggestions? Fans good?) - 1080p at the moment until he buys the LG 27GP850-B 27" (What do ya'll think of it? Better options? Would prefer to spend $350 or less.) - He has his sights set on the Mountain Everest Max keyboard (What do ya'll think of it? Better options?) - Mouse/Headset suggestions? Thinking either Sennheiser with a DAC and mod mic or going Logitech Lightspeed Wireless. Mouse thinking Lightspeed Wireless. - Streaming gear suggestions? Camera, Mic, Mic arm, software, etc - Drawing pad suggestions? Art and/or Animation. Free or paid Courses? - Video editing software suggestions free and paid. Free or paid Courses? - Thoughts on best custom CableMods cable colors and style to match the build and to be able to use any color for RGB - Thoughts on using Signal RGB free in its current state to control all the different RGB? - Best software optimizations to do to both the BIOS and Windows for both security and performance and anything else you consider important? - Thoughts on optimal airflow setup with his case. # of fans and locations? Which ones should be RGB for the best final look? Can we put AL120's on a Noctua D15S? Should we? - We are doing a custom DIY Ikea desk (Would love advice or suggestion on parts that worked well or didn't) - He has his sights set on a Secret Labs chair (What do ya'll think of it? Better options?) - He wants to RGB his room and decorate for streaming (advice needed on affordable options! He wants it to look great to all age categories and be customizable) - Best free software these days to stress test and benchmark the PC to make sure everything is working and up to spec? - Any other advice for him in his build or buying things or choosing software I didn't think of with the goal of a high quality stream, quality video content, customized RGB setup, and art/drawing. The parts were chosen with the plan of upgrading to/overclocking a 5950x in the future, planning for significantly faster internet and larger game sizes with multiple storage options (M.2 coming down in price and/or Large HD cold storage), and upgrading graphics cards as they get more power hungry. He plans to keep using the majority of these parts for 8-10 years only upgrading the CPU, GPU, and adding storage Lots to cover with this post. Don't feel like you have to answer every question if you got no clue! We will be reading all the comments. Thanks to everyone for their help in advance! With the right preparation we hope to have a blast on build day!

Budget (including currency): $6000 if possible, $7000 max ,$AUD Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I mod Halo 3 (Halo 3 New Covenant campaign on youtube) and so I need it to do engine work, lots of compiling, and the lightmap baking is multi-threaded and can take days at a time (cpu only too) (also uses lots of ram), I also create custom cinematics through Blender so I'm rendering tens of thousands of frames for those. On top of that the generic AAA games, Cyperpunk, Red Dead 2 etc. Also some pretty intense Audio mixing of short movies, bands or Orchestras for work so lots of plugins and lots of large audio files playing at once. Other details: PC part picker link (screenshot attached too): https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/ywwGtn I run a Dell 27" 4K 60hz monitor and occasionally a second 1080p 60hz for production work ease. Will look at a 4K 120/144hz QD-OLED in the coming years I have plenty of SSD storage I will migrate over so not fussed about that. No peripherals needed. Looking to buy from now (Been saving for 3 years yeesh) My Current PC (Built in 2012 (yes 2012 with a couple upgrades)), it is on it's last legs and can hardly operate with my modding now (oddly still holds up for most games at medium to high 1440p). Intel i7 2600k 3.4Ghz Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Motherboard 16GB 1666mhz vengeance CL9 GTX 1080 8GB SSD 2.5" drives Worries about this build: Enough fans for addacuate airflow? the Motherboard I've spec'd is a b560E, what would be the pros to going to the 670xE? Do I really need it? I'm guessing I'd need an E motherboard to take the PCI Gen 5 of the 4090 yeah? Ram wise I want 64GB but would it kill if I went a lower mhz at like 5200 and save a buck? Thanks for any help!! So much money I don't want to make any dumb mistakes!!

Hello I am a 3D Generalist - C4D, Redshift, After Effects, Premiere, adobe suite etc. USA Based I am looking to build a PC and I have 2 build in mind and just need final guidance on which one to pull the trigger on. I already have the 2 12 GB 3080s so I basically just need to purchase the rest of the machine. My main reason for wanting 2 GPUs was to maximize rendering power/speed since Redshift is a GPU based renderer. Thank you for your guidance. Option A Option B

Budget (including currency): preferred ~ 3.5k USD/ Max 4k USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Main focus of the build would be for 3d modelling/rendering with some animations with mid to high poly count. I would primarily be using DAZ 3D Studio and Blender to model and animate, (most of the work will be done in Blender, DAZ is just a part of my workflow), GIMP for making touchups on finished renders. I would be rendering through Blender with the AMD ProRender plugin. Using DAZ and Blender because I can't afford the costs associated with other programs as well as familiarity with them, (in addition to the assets available through DAZ are a bonus so I don't have to feel like I'm constantly reinventing the wheel or lacking in the inspiration department). Other details: Just for clarification my current PC will still be my daily driver for when I'm not working on renders and animations (I won't be able to use the workstation while it's rendering), so I won't be reusing the parts for the new PC. Current build: MB: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB THICC III Ultra RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 PS: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Planned build Workstation v.1: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mHrH9r I intend to upgrade storage as needed, would like to eventually have dedicated storage to backup my projects and work. I have all of my peripherals and case fans already. I may do some video editing on the machine as needed but my current pc will still be used for most of my other work and gaming. My concerns/questions: The GPU selection, I'm not familiar with Gigabyte, (as in I've never owned one of their products) but chose it based on budget concerns, would prefer to use XFX as my current GPU has been excellent but that would put me over with the way the market is now. RAM choice, based on this info I found in this thread on reddit I'm not sure how to get the desired 64gb of ram for the build. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/s8elik/4_sticks_ram_vs_2/ Cooling, I'd like to stick with air cooling if possible as I've never used water-cooling, but not sure if the NH-D15 with the case fans in a positive pressure setup would be sufficient, as I don't know what temps to expect and am unsure of the best cooling solution, and tbh having another point of failure in the system intimidates me a bit especially when there's water involved. I'd like to stick to AMD products as I'm not a big fan of Nvidia or Intel, plus I want to take advantage of smart access memory and use both the cpu and gpu for rendering with ProRender. Not sure how to bring the budget down any further as I already made some concessions I'm not exactly thrilled with, but any help in that department would be appreciated. Also any additional advice to questions I probably should have but lack the knowledge to ask would be more than welcome. I'm not trying to get into a debate as to why, since I made this post for assistance on my build, but I have my reasons as to why I won't purchase a Nvidia GPU. I'm aware of the difference in performance and the lack of support that comes with that choice and I'm fine with that decision. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've never been on a site like this, and I barely know how to make a proper post on a forum because people scare me! But I figured I had no choice since I'm an Art major who finally after getting beaten and bruised for wanting to go to school have FINALLY got enough money to build my own PC...that and i'm not too smart on PC Build stuff lol My budget is starting at 500 and I wouldn't mind if it hits close to 700. I'm not sure if thats reasonable budget but I'd appreciate any info you have fam. 1. I live in the U.S where people still like to go outside and shop everything's normal 2. Aim My Aim is for Drawing, Mostly in Clip Art Studio and Blender's 2d drawing software| Music Design in FL Studio | 2D animation in Clip Art Studio| and Medium gaming(I believe the most heavy game I have in my Steam is Tales of Vesperia /Destiny 2/ Trials of Cold Steel. 3. Monitors I don't have a monitor but I am getting a 720 32 inch flat screen tomorrow, if I see a need to get a monitor I might, since I'll surely need accurate colours. 4. Peripherals So I just now found out you have to buy an OS when building a PC...oof. But yes I would need a OS, I have a keyboard and mouse already and if I need speakers then I might invest in some later on, but if there are recommendations I'd appreciate it fam : ) 5. Why are you upgrading? : ) I have a 128GB of storage on this laptop... 6. Please, No Dream Builds The only dream build I have is to have a decent computer : )

Budget (including currency): $3,000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Zbrush, Autodesk Maya, various Adobe programs, Substance Painter and Designer, Unreal Engine 4. It is going to be used for primarily 3D modeling and rendering, as well as animation and VR and environment design in Unreal Engine 4. Might use it for some gaming, but mostly for large projects. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm looking to build this hopefully in a few months. I know there is a mess with GPUs right now, I'm not in a rush and I'm mostly in a planning stage, and I might start picking up things now like the case. I'm currently using an Alienware 17 R5 laptop, intel core i9 @ 2.9 GHz, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 graphics card. I'm looking for something that will keep a cooler cpu, and has lots of storage. I'm new to PC building this will be my first, and I'm excited to learn and get advice. EDIT: With graphics cards still being hard to find. What are the overall thoughts and reviews around purchasing a pre-made CORSAIR ( Like this https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Systems/CORSAIR-VENGEANCE-i7200-Series-Gaming-PC/p/CS-9050007-NA#tab-faqs) Do they have decent turn around from order to delivery? Would this leave me open to upgrading parts like the CPU or GPU individually in the future? What are the thoughts around these?

Hey lovely people of the community! I am planning to build a new Ryzen PC and I could really do with some advice from a bit more tech savvy guys out here. Before getting into the configurations and my usage, I would like to point out that I am an absolute noob when it comes to the technical details. I for sure know what frequency and clock speed etc is, but I have absolutely zero idea what things like L3 cache, latencies, CCX modules etc mean. Also I donot understand how those fancy bars and benchmarks exactly function, so I request you guys to please give me suggestions bearing in mind that I am a complete layman So I am a designer and animator. My primary usage is going to be Adobe After effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator, while I also plan to start using Cinema 4D soon. I do not play games and do not intend to overclock my system. After an intensive research during the lockdown months I came up with the following build Ryzen 7 3700X MSI B450 Tomahawk Max GEFORCE GTX 1650 Super DDR4 [3200MHz] 16/32 GB RAM (Depending on the budget) Samsung 860 QVO [1 TB] WD Green [240 GB] Antec VP550 But then AMD introduced the 5000 series and put me in a serious dilemma. Now the build I am planning is Ryzen 5 5600X MSI B550 A-Pro GEFORCE GTX 1650 Super DDR4 [3200MHz] 16/32 GB RAM (Depending on the budget) Samsung 860 QVO [1 TB] WD Green [240 GB] Antec VP550 (Kindly note that since I do not plan to play games, I do not need the fancy Nvidia 3000 series or the AMD 6000 series GPUs) So now the dilemma I am facing is, should I go with the 3700x build or the 5600x one? (Since both are almost in the same price range). Will the changed architectures and design make a difference for the type of usage that I am planning? From what I have read and understood, I have come to the conclusion that, if I get the 3700x at a substantially lower cost than the 5600x (around $40-$50 difference), then I'll go for the 3700x, orelse I will go for the 5600x. Also I would really REALLY appreciate it if you guys could help me with a step by step guide on how I can optimize the performance of the PC, I've heard that Ryzen does weird stuff with RAM speeds and stuff. Thanks a lot in advance

Budget: ~960 USD (8500 SEK) Country: Sweden PC will be used for: Mainly Blender 3D rendering, animation and video editing. Maybe some beginner game development with Unity. Occasional gaming can occur. Parts list CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (stock fan) GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS Case: Phanteks Eclipse P300 Mid Tower Vit Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600MHz LPX Black 16GB (2x8GB) SSD: WD Blue 3D NAND SSD 2.5" SATA III 1TB HDD: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2TB PSU: Corsair RM850 The GPU will not count in the budget since it's already ordered (and I am waiting). I will be honest about the PSU, I picked something random and I am not sure if it's good or not. Initially I am thinking about installing Linux Ubuntu as OS and later adding Windows as dual-boot. It's my second time building a computer since 5 years ago. The last time my build was a bit of a let down so will be glad to receive feedback and/or if I missed compatibility for something. (I don't want bottlenecks like the last build) I was thinking buying the components around black Friday. Thank you so much for your time.

Hello I really need help finalizing my build for content creation, coding. So far I have two versions, but both of them are missing the GPU as I have no clue which one to choose and which one would fit my needs and budget the best. My friend is building a new PC setup and I am not sure what monitor to recommend to him. He is mainly focused on Content creation with Animation, Drawing, 3D Design, Music Production and Video Production with Gaming as a secondary focus. He has a budget of around £500 but this is flexible by about £50 up or down. The monitor has to be 4K, and reasonably colour accurate for his creation and a refresh rate of above 60Hz would be nice but in no means a priority. Does anyone have any ideas for a monitor that fits this category. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I have asked this in a few other places but I am still on the fence about a few things. I have been modding to include creating my own models and animating them. I mod for Skyrim, the fallout series and ARK games that are not twitch reflex needy. I have been using two 21 inch monitors for all of this while also using my gaming rigs monitor (LG 34GK950F-B 34" 21:9 Ultragear WQHD Nano IPS Curved Gaming Monitor) for some model work. One of the 21 inch on my render rig is going out and I am getting tired of using a hair dryer on it. I have already decided to upgrade to a 27 inch or above. Where I am on the fence is should the monitor be 2560 x 1440, 2560 x 1080 or 1920 x 1080. The monitor would serve several purposes. I even thought two monitors of different resolutions to split tasks. Non curved, IPS. Rather it be 16:9 vs 29:1 Mod creation: so non curved, (3d modeling, animation, photo manipulation and texturing) wide color gamut and all that. Coding: I am teaching myself coding so having a larger monitor I can put into portrait mode would be of benefit. Day Trading/Stock stuff (need a lot of real-estate and the monitor might sit further away so kinda thought 1080p) probably also non curved Gaming: I have an RTX 2060 and sometimes it struggles running Borderlands 3 on high with some custom settings on the 3440 x 1440 plus it is ultrawide and I am still not sure how I feel about gaming on an ultrawide things look a little strange. The curved thing is cool however this is the first large monitor I have ever had so I cannot say how cool it is over say a non curved monitor of similar size. Productivity: I plan on keeping one of the 21 inch for running programs while using my xp-pen 22 for my work and using the new larger monitor I get for reference image or the other tasks above. I considered 4k for modding. I mean if you are making 4k content might be nice to have a 4K monitor. The justification is just not there though. A lot of factors going into modding and while I like the mods I have made I don't really see a difference in texture from making them on a 1080p to seeing them in game on my 1440p. So I am looking for input from game content creators or game devs, stock traders, people who 3d model and animate and coders/programmers. Actually anyone that has any insight or experience with the types of monitors and sizes I have mentioned. I apologize in advance if this seems all over the place. Thanks

Budget (including currency): 1500$ is a limit Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Gaming, 3D Software, Animation Hi! I'm planning to build a PC under 1500$ that will get me through college and maybe even longer. Workloads are mentioned higher, however on that note I want to play most of the upcoming games on settings higher than medium for the most cases ( I know that some titles like RDR 2 are exceptional so medium settings are gonna be enough too). I also want to have decent rendering times while doing college work in Blender etc... I already have a monitor: AOC 24G2U and all the other peripherals so that's not a thing to worry about. Is that build of mine decent? Should I upgrade something while still in that price range? Or maybe I can save up on something and won't notice that much of a performance cut? Thanks for the help in advance can't wait to hear your opinions! Budget (including currency): 2000$ +/- Country: Poland (I know, but still give advices based on your country if you see fit) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: PC for gaming, 3d software (blender, zbrush) and game engines, laptop for ocassional 3d work, bringing to college, light work on go Other details: Okay, here is the thing. I want to build a PC + Laptop setup that will last me for the next 3-5 years. I want my PC to be responsible for most of the heavy work, I already have all the peripherals so I just need PC itself. I'd love for it to be packed in a relatively small case, other than that I'm looking for total advice as to what to buy since I'm not a tech wizard. I'd love my laptop to be ready for daily travelling, doing notes during classes and ocassionally modeling something or similar task. I'm opting for a small screen, up to 14 inches max. Long battery life with still some power to offer. Hope you guys can help me as this is a really confusing shopping time for me
