I'm looking to buy a 7900 xtx for my system, and I was thinking of getting the reference card for it's size. Is there any notable differences between it and 3rd party cards? Is there any AiB cards that are same size/ smaller than it?

I'm looking into upgrading my PC once again, a complete re-haul but I've been indecisive on my GPU choice since prices are through the roof. I'm mainly looking between the RX 7800 XT and the 4070ti, though I am open to other suggestions (though the 7900xt and 4080 and above are way out of my price range) Looking to play games at 1440p, mainly competitive shooters with the most demanding game being Escape from Tarkov (I would love to run streets at more than 60 frames ). My current plan for specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D Mobo: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX Micro ATX (Likely to opt for the ATX version) RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Cooler: (Looking for a 240-360mm AIO, taking suggestions) Case: Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case Storage: (Looking for an m.2 drive, probably no larger than 2TB, also taking suggestions) If I can give any more information to inform suggestions just lmk. Cheers!

Looking to upgrade from my GTX 1070. At the moment I am stuck between the RTX 4070ti and the RX 7900 XT, Thoughts? I am looking for hopefully a 4k high to max settings 60fps experience on most games. From my research (hopefully I get this right) the 7900 XT has more VRAM which is better for future proofing and has slightly higher fps on most games but the 4070ti does better with ray tracing and has DLSS which is apparently better then FSR. Do all the superior features and the better ray tracing that come with an Nvidia card make the 4070ti the way to go or does the more VRAM and slightly higher fps on most games make the 7900 XT more worth it? Having had an Nvidia card for years now that has served me well I need to be 100% convinced the 7900 XT is better to switch to AMD. NOTE: 7900 XT is about $200 more so there is also that to consider (I wouldn't mind paying the extra amount if I 100% knew it was worth it) MY CURRENT BUILD: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/72PbdH (Yes I am aware of the CPU bottleneck and am planning to also upgrade the CPU in the future)

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows the thermal pad thickness for the reference rx 6700xt. I recently changed the themal paste and torn a few pads, replaced all of them with 1mm thick pads but the results are not very satisfying. Paste used was arctic mx6, pads some Arctic 1mm pads.

I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T16 Gen 2, and the gaming performance has been a big step back from my previous gaming laptop, which I wanted to replace because of bad battery life and constant BSODs and crashes (I've been trying to fix it for the past 2 years and it's been on and off, it's a Lenovo Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM and a mobile RTX 2060). I got the T16 G2 with a Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U and 32GB LPDDR5X-6400MHz RAM. I was wondering if it would support an eGPU, given that it doesn't have any dedicated Thunderbolt ports, but does have USB-C 4, which I think supports Thunderbolt 3? And also if the laptop simply allows for it. I was thinking about getting me a second hand Razer Core X and an RTX 2060 (or slightly better). Any help, tips or insight is appreciated!

So the problem is the following, when I try to play Final Fantasy 14 on any graphics setting in a matter of time(up to 30 minutes) the screen goes black, all the fans on the PC start to spin at full speed, no input is registered only the current music track of the game continues to play. The crash requires a complete power reset and sometimes when I boot into windows my driver is crashed and does not recognize the GPU I have to go into device manager and enable it(I attached a screenshot of the error I get when booting in). I have played the game with my old GPU gtx 1660 super for over a year now and no such problem ever arose. I have tried a new windows install on a new SSD, multiple display driver uninstalls, tried to play the game in directX9 mode but it crashed almost instantly. The only other game this had happened was in War Thunder, but I managed to fix the problem by lowering some settings(I will provide a screenshot of the exact settings). I have run multiple benchmarks like Furmark, unigine superposition, furmark and none of them had any issues. I have tried with multiple displays and cables because I red somewhere that a faulty cable can cause a problem. I checked windows event viewer for anything but the only thing I see is the critical and error for unexpected shutdown. My specs are: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 MB: Asrock A320m-dgs RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 CL16 SSD: WD Black sn770 2tb PSU: beQuiet Pure Power 10 700W OS: Windows 10 pro

This one is hard to explain, so I also included a video of the intermittent issue. So far, this has occurred like clockwork once daily but is remedied after a single restart. When I get home from work, the first startup often results in Windows loading incredibly slowly, like unusable speeds. Mouse movement stutters and Windows lags behind. Opening basic applications causes long freezes. This doesn't seem to recover, either. I turned on my PC once and took a shower, made dinner, and cleaned my room, and it still was in this eternal state of lag. To make matters worse, this often occurs alongside another issue where my second monitor display does not receive a signal. Turning the monitor off and on does nothing, switching cables and verifying it's secured. This is where things get weird, though. If I simply restart the PC, everything acts as normal. Windows is as responsive as it should be, and my second monitor comes to life. Every single time I start the PC for the first time in the day, I'm forced to power it off and basically retry. I believe I have ruled out software, as it continued occurring after a fresh Windows install. I performed ran Memtest86, knowing AM5 boards using EXPO had issues, but it passed. I ran several tests in Samsung magician, and everything passed. I'm concerned this could be a GPU problem; what should my next diagnostic step be? I do not have a second GPU on hand. YouTube video of it occurring Specifications: AMD 7800X3D ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI Sapphire AMD RX 7900XTX 2x Samsung 980 PRO 1TB G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000 CL30 Thermaltake Toughpower SFX (ATX 3.0 Standard) 850W Full Modular BIOS Version (sysinfo32.exe) BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 1818, 11/8/2023 Verified all drivers were current, including GPU, Chipset, ext. Hi, I have a problem with GPU Rx 580 2048sp 8GB. I have tried with many motherboards but still fail. However, recently I have tried it with a riser, and it finally works. So I reversed my action by putting it directly in motherboards, and It is still not working. Only Riser can revise my Rx 580, regardless of the boards. Please help me explain this situation. Look on advice on what parts I should look to upgrade on my PC. Looking to upgrade as it's very slow on boot up and in gaming it's starting to lag behind what I want it for. Looking for advice on upgradeability of the above specs or on building a new pc (specs) and what I could turn the old one into.

Budget (including currency): Around 1600-1700USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Wide range of casual gameplay, as well as higher level competitive play in FN. As well as web/software dev workload. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m8NvmD I have a 165hz monitor already, 1080p Upgrading from a laptop (2060, i710750h (what I feel is holding me back a lot), 16gb Single channel ram (1 slot is broken)) I really think that the mobo is the part that I might not have selected a solid choice for and am looking for an alternative that at least has a USB C port for VR (Quest 2), and 1-2 usb3.0+ ports.

Budget (including currency): £2,000 - £2,200 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming: Cyberpunk 2077, Civ 6 Other details: I will be using my existing Gigabyte 1440p 165hz monitor, the most demanding game that I'll playing is Cyberpunk 2077 (+ray tracing). I have put together a PC Part Picker build which I have checked and I believe everything should be compatible (The Gigabyte RTX 4080 Super is just a placeholder as I am hoping to buy a founder's edition when released). Please let me know if can see any issues / concerns with my build (especially if you think it may be noisy) and if there are any suggestions where I can save some money. However, I'd rather pay a little bit more if it means less hassle with the build or maintaining the PC

after a year of saving i have just finished building my pc, and nothing is responding. the cpu light is on, and i cant really troubleshoot to see whats wrong as i dont have any spare parts lying around. specs: mobo- msi mag b550 tomahawk cpu - ryzen 79700g gpu - (still saving up for it) ram - Kingston fury 2 x 16GB storage- i have a 4tb Seagate hdd, and a 400GB Kingston ssd the fans spin to life and the rgb comes on, but my monitor never gets any form of signal. I believe its my cpu that's the problem and not the mobo socket, as when the processor arrived from amazon there were some bent pins but i managed to get them straight again with some tweezers. allso when i turn it on and everything else is on the cpu dosent change in temp without a cooler on it.

so I have a 5700 XT from PowerColor that kept crashing in game, but weirdly enough if I use the old 2019 driver (19.7.5) I never experienced a single crash why is that? I've tried all other drivers that's newer than the one I'm currently using (ADRENALIN 19.7.5) it all resulted in a crash. I've tried swapping CPUs, Motherboards, SSDs, RAM sticks, PSUs, I also tried another GPU on all my config it all performs normally except the one with 5700 XT (with driver newer than 19.7.5). And even in the old driver I have to lower the memory clock to max 600MHz otherwise it will crash in game. Is there any way to lower the memory clock below the limit on the newer driver which is around 1500MHz to atleast 600MHz? which from my investigation it seems the memory clock is at fault. I would appreciate any kind of help regarding my trouble here. Thank you.

Hi All So this issue is completely random, it can happen when gaming, it can also happen when doing something very lightweight. It last happened about an hour ago when I had the log running. I'll get a blackscreen on all 3 monitors, followed by a restart after about 20 seconds. I did run a log since this morning until the issue happened, but honestly I'm not the best at interpreting the logs against which piece of hardware (if it is a hardware issue). Could anyone take a look? Many thanks! Budget (including currency): something along the lines of 1000-1500$ (i might be able to salvage some parts from another PC) Country: Bulgaria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: It will be mainly used for storage of my photos. As a photographer I tend to have 20-30 GB of data to store after a shoot. In my current setup I am using a RPI 3 with an external HDD, but it is getting very limiting. I am also using it for a Plex Server and organize a few movies and shows. With a proper machine I plan to use it sometimes to run a VM or two. Maybe setup a Pi Hole server or some project like that. I need some kind of redundancy which would prevent me from loosing all my photos (I don't really care about the tv shows or movies). I also read that RAID arrays are not very good for SSDs, initially I was planning on using SSDs as the prices have become very affordable and the read longevity is better than a HDD. I would really appreciate some suggestions on which way to go, any problems which might be a deal breaker or something probably not many people know. I have also seen the new Minisforum mini workstation PCs and they look very cool apart from the Intel processor.

I have a very absurd problem. I decided to switch from BOINC to F@H for a while for my RX480 and while it seemed things were chugging along, I checked the "Advanced Control" to find that my GPU folding slot has been marked as failed. Here's the system info from FAHControl (Note: F@H reports my install as Windows 10 Enterprise, it's actually Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 22H2) And there's nothing in the logs elaborating on the failure I decided to check my drivers to see perhaps an update had dropped but oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be a PRO update since Oct '22 Oddest of all, while doing some troubleshooting steps as suggested by the internet, I learned that my OpenCL drivers are completely unsigned... they're the only things that are unsigned The simple solution would be just to switch to the regular, Adrenalin drivers and call it a day but I've got two questions. I use PRO drivers for stability and that's worked out so far, BOINC (PrimeGrid) had no problems doing number crunching using the GPU so why does F@H have a problem (if it has a problem with that at all) Why are there unsigned OpenCL drivers on my computer? How'd they get there? I've never in the history of the system install allowed for the installation of unsigned drivers (i.e. I've kept driver signature enforcement enabled). I have no hardware that needs unsigned drivers.

Hello, Guys first time posting here. So the thing is I have an HP Pavilion gaming 15-ec2xxx. Click here for the HP official spec sheet. So I wanted to use an external 1080p monitor as I edit on this laptop and this laptop doesn't have a color-accurate display. Now I wanted to use a single wire for everything Ethernet, USB devices, and Display. Now the USB here is a simple 3.0 USB and doesn't support alt mode on it. Researching on whether could I force output display through USB I found this device which could be used to power extra display through USB. Now the main question is are these devices any good, do they use CPU, and do my machine performance reduce after using this device? As I do editing every single bit of performance is much appreciated.

I have a 5600g and I wanted to squeeze a little more power out of it and I have ample cooling and power from my NH-D15 and my old 1200 watt power supply so I was wondering what are safe settings to get some more power out of it like what should I put in for the PBO limits I saw some people doing a little over 100w on ppt limit but no one had anything with numbers for SOC TDC and SOC EDC so I’m a little confused idk if the photo will help but any advice or numbers I can just put in so Ik I won’t damage anything or cause my pc to crash but still get me a bit more performance and power usage would be much appreciated. I added from what I’ve seen online a picture of what I’m guessing will work but any critique or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello everyone. Recently I've noticed a green bar appearing on top of videos whenever I'm on youtube, it only started a few days ago. My assumption is that my 'monitor' (which is a 1080p tv at 32") is just faulty overall. Im running a Ryzen 7 5700G and no discrete GPU, I'm connected through the HDMI port. It will appear in one video, disappear for the next 4~6, and then reappear again. Any ideas?

Hello, I have an issue with my graphics card. When I play games the image quality is poor, it looks like there's a grain/pixelated filter over it. Does anyone know how to help? I've attached an image bellow as an example in Forza Horizon 5.
