Budget (including currency): $1,000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ? Probably F1 2023 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sdTTDZ My question is about the "14 total / 10 usable" Native PCIe lanes here: https://www.amd.com/en/product/14086 I am ready to spring for an 8500G. Assume my 8500G choice is locked. What is a good motherboard that has 2 x USB4 to take advantage of those pins coming from the CPU, and as much PCIe expansion as possible? Assume I'll keep the motherboard for 15+ years. Eventually I'll get some faster AM5 CPU to put in it. The ASUS ROG X670E crosshair hero almost seems like a good choice. (The manual is here) Explanation: The ROG X670E strix has 1 DisplayPort 1.4 output on the rear I/O but no USB4. The ROG crosshair has 2 x USB4 display outputs from the CPU. And the 8500G has 2 x USB4 ports. But I'm still nervous I missed something that's going to bite me later. What will be the limitations on PCIe slots? If the CPU had a full 16 lanes for the x16 the manual then talks about bifurcation on p. vii "specifications summary" -- The second PCIe 5.0 x16 slot works only in x8 mode: "(support x16 or x8/x8 mode)" And "When PCIE 5.0 M.2 card is installed on PCIEX16_2, PCIEX16_1 will run x8 only." Some of that is pretty normal for X670E motherboards based on [1]. What I'm wondering is what happens when the APU only has 10 usable PCIe lanes? Will the second x16 stop working at all - same for the slots M.2_1 and M.2_2 which each use x4 of PCIe 5.0, they prob will just not work at all. So I have to use M.2_3 and M.2_4 which are PCIe 4.0 x4 - that doesn't seem so bad. I do see that pcpartpicker flags the 5800G CPU as being so new I'll need to flash the motherboard BIOS before I can install it. That's the $650 ASUS board that I'm looking at. Now, I hear you, you'll cringe at spending that much on the motherboard. Motherboards have gotten pricey lately, so I'm looking to buy an excellent one and to really peer into its guts. I mean, I looked at the ASRock X670E Taichi Carrara for $623 and it has the same warning, "support x16 or x8/x8 modes*" and probably has the same gotcha if M2_1 is used. Gigabyte seems to have discontinued the X670E Aero D, and the AORUS Master limits its USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4. MSI has the same DisplayPort 1.4 limitation. Anyone already have the ROG crosshair or ASRock Taichi Carrara? [1] https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-rog-crosshair-x670e-hero/

So which one would be better, more future proof option? I do mostly gaming(1080p) , but have a plan to stream a bit(in near future), what's the best cpu from those 2, both cost, new, around 275 euros where I live. There's ryzen 9 5950x at 320 euros, but is it even worth? My current cpu is ryzen 5 3600. Rest system : gpu-radeon rx 6700 non xt 32gb ram B550M board 240mm aio 600w psu 2tb m.2 X2 2tb hdds 144hz 1080p monitor(if I will stream I'll add another one).

I recently got an LG Ultragear 34GN850-B, things have been fine but recently my computer has been completely shutting down at random. It will try to boot up right after but it won't be successful. When I go to my event viewer it tells me this: The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV20 service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. I'm pretty sure these crashes only started happening after I updated my amd driver. Could it be possible that some combination of the updated driver and my LG monitor is the cause of my computer crashes? I've since switched back to my old Gigabyte monitor and haven't experienced a crash yet, will update if it does crash at some point. Spent a pretty penny on the LG though and would hate to have to stop using it so I'd appreciate any help and suggestions. Computer specs: 5800X3D 6750xt 750w Rosewill PSU 32GB DDR4 ram

Budget (including currency): 9.000.000 IDR Country: Indonesia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FL Studio (Various VSTs), DaVinci Resolve (FHD Editing) Hi, I've been doing my own research yet I still need some opinions regarding the new build I'm going to do. I've read a couple times regarding the worth of DDR5 system and the price of AM5 motherboard, I have a high concern regarding the longetivity and upgradeability of the system I'm going to do, so I have a little concern on DDR4 system. But, again, my purpose is getting the most for my money. Here's my build plan Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Motherboard: MSI PRO A620M-E (AM5, A620, DDR5, USB3.2, SATA3) SSD: ADATA LEGEND 850 Lite 500GB NVME PCIe Gen4x4 - R 4700MB/S W 1700MB/S RAM: Team Elite Plus Black DDR5 PC41600 5200MHz Dual Channel 32GB (2x16GB) Case: Antec NX500M ARGB PSU: 1STPLAYER DK PREMIUM PS-500AX 80+ Bronze Certified Cooler: Deepcool Ice Edge Mini FS V2 - LGA1700/AM5 Support So, based on my needs on FL Studio use and occasional gaming (classic AAA games circa 2010-2013) and short video editing for personal social media, should I go with this build or should I go the AM4 build?

Current Specs: Intel i5-12400F MSI RTX 3050 ASUS Prime B660M-A AC D4 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz 1TB MSI M371 2TB Samsung 980 Pro I'm getting pretty serious with MSFS these days and also would like to explore City Skylines 2 which I know is another resource intensive title. I'm fine with my current setup at high settings in General Aviation aircraft in rural areas but if I use add-on scenery combined with an airliner near say NYC or LA I struggle to get 30FPS and also get frequent stutters so I need to upgrade to do those things. From what I've been able to tell researching GPU's a 4090 is probably overkill for me just wanting to do 1440p at Ultra Settings so I'm eyeing the 4080 Super as my GPU upgrade. I just can't figure out which CPU to pair with it. Do I stick with Intel and do a 13900K or 14900K or are those overkill like the 4090 is/was? Or do I do a complete platform change and get a new motherboard and look for one of the AMD X3D CPU's like the 7800X3D or 7950X3D? AMD seems to score higher on the various benchmark charts I've seen but is it worth upgrading a motherboard just to go with one of those CPU's? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated especially if you're a MSFS user yourself

Hey yall, i just recently upgraded my gpu in my system from an rtx 2070 super to an rx 7900 xt, and im getting kind of poor performance. for example in cs2 i used the same exact setting as a friend of mine who has the same system I do but he gets 550+ fps in cs2 but i can only get barely 350. my fps isn't limited and i did a user benchmark and it says everythings running perfectly so idk whats going on. UserBenchmarks: Game 260%, Desk 109%, Work 289% CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 106.1% GPU: AMD RX 7900-XT - 252.1% SSD: Samsung 870 EVO 1TB - 91.7% SSD: Samsung 980 PRO with Heatsink 2TB - 418.8% RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3000 C16 2x16GB - 120.2% MBD: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C37)

Budget: $350 ish Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket League, Cult of the Lamb, Cities Skylines, Horizon Zero Dawn, Overwatch, Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, Minecraft (w/ shaders), Premiere Pro, Photoshop, (maybe Blender) Other details: I'm noticing a reasonable bottleneck with my Ryzen 5 2600 on a B450 Aorus M Motherboard. This is after I upgraded from a GTX 970 to a RTX 3070. Sure, there's an upgrade path that could let me squeeze out another 10-25 fps, but first: - Idk if my poor entry level VRMs can handle a 5800x3D - Board is PCIe 3.0 and is bottlenecking my SSD and GPU - 5800x3D costs as much as an entry level board and intel i5 13500 Should I just get a new board and CPU? Are there other less pricey ways to upgrade? I built this system new in 2019 so it's due for an upgrade. I just can't afford much atm. Specs of what I have are as follows: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M Ryzen 5 2600 w/ Hyper 212 Black Cooler 16GB 3200 MT/s Ram DDR4 RTX 3070 Founder Edition EVGA 600 BR Power Supply WD_Black SN770 1TB I'm not against using DLSS, but I do like playing in high refresh rate on my Samsung G8 3440 x 1440 175hz OLED

Budget (including currency): No budget but would like to not go over $2000 CAD for the parts I do not own already. Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All games and any future games I hope. Streaming. Other details https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/TwoNinjas/saved/7CvjWZ So I have been flip flopping on which CPU to buy for DDR5 so I would like some advice on the pros and cons of both. I have a lot of trouble on comparing the cpus and the price/value. I have an AMD processor already listed in my parts list but the Intel cpu I was thinking was a i9-12700k. I At the moment in this build I already have the GPU and the Case from my previous PC. I will be buying the parts on sale and one or two at a time. If you think there is anyway I can save on the build that would keep the DDR5 speeds be awesome.

im experiencing some artifacts in my pc, but only during when I bootup my pc sometimes in facebook when scrolling and most of the time in youtube almost everytime I go to youtube in the windows desktop or just alt tab to the desktop. What I find odd is when its under stress there's no artifacts or any issues my games are buttery smooth even at gpu demanding games there's no artifacts so is this normal? It's my first card so im a bit worried.

So I've noticed that especially in Microsoft flight simulator at night the anti-aliasing is particularly poor. It's not the best during the day but it's not that bad. Also, it seems worse at payware, third-party airports such as the one shown below. I've included screenshots of my settings, Radeon Settings and my best attempt to capture in-game screenshots. It's more noticeable when you move the camera around but i couldn't find a way to share a good video. My PC specs are; RX6800, Ryzen 5800x, 32GB of DDR4 3200 RAM, RM850 running on a View Sonic VX2718-2KPC 1440, 165hz monitor. I've not long switched from team green to fully team Red so there might be an obvious fix that I am missing. Thanks

I'm looking to buy a 7900 xtx for my system, and I was thinking of getting the reference card for it's size. Is there any notable differences between it and 3rd party cards? Is there any AiB cards that are same size/ smaller than it?

I'm looking into upgrading my PC once again, a complete re-haul but I've been indecisive on my GPU choice since prices are through the roof. I'm mainly looking between the RX 7800 XT and the 4070ti, though I am open to other suggestions (though the 7900xt and 4080 and above are way out of my price range) Looking to play games at 1440p, mainly competitive shooters with the most demanding game being Escape from Tarkov (I would love to run streets at more than 60 frames ). My current plan for specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D Mobo: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX Micro ATX (Likely to opt for the ATX version) RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Cooler: (Looking for a 240-360mm AIO, taking suggestions) Case: Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case Storage: (Looking for an m.2 drive, probably no larger than 2TB, also taking suggestions) If I can give any more information to inform suggestions just lmk. Cheers!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows the thermal pad thickness for the reference rx 6700xt. I recently changed the themal paste and torn a few pads, replaced all of them with 1mm thick pads but the results are not very satisfying. Paste used was arctic mx6, pads some Arctic 1mm pads.

I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T16 Gen 2, and the gaming performance has been a big step back from my previous gaming laptop, which I wanted to replace because of bad battery life and constant BSODs and crashes (I've been trying to fix it for the past 2 years and it's been on and off, it's a Lenovo Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM and a mobile RTX 2060). I got the T16 G2 with a Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U and 32GB LPDDR5X-6400MHz RAM. I was wondering if it would support an eGPU, given that it doesn't have any dedicated Thunderbolt ports, but does have USB-C 4, which I think supports Thunderbolt 3? And also if the laptop simply allows for it. I was thinking about getting me a second hand Razer Core X and an RTX 2060 (or slightly better). Any help, tips or insight is appreciated!

Looking to upgrade from my GTX 1070. At the moment I am stuck between the RTX 4070ti and the RX 7900 XT, Thoughts? I am looking for hopefully a 4k high to max settings 60fps experience on most games. From my research (hopefully I get this right) the 7900 XT has more VRAM which is better for future proofing and has slightly higher fps on most games but the 4070ti does better with ray tracing and has DLSS which is apparently better then FSR. Do all the superior features and the better ray tracing that come with an Nvidia card make the 4070ti the way to go or does the more VRAM and slightly higher fps on most games make the 7900 XT more worth it? Having had an Nvidia card for years now that has served me well I need to be 100% convinced the 7900 XT is better to switch to AMD. NOTE: 7900 XT is about $200 more so there is also that to consider (I wouldn't mind paying the extra amount if I 100% knew it was worth it) MY CURRENT BUILD: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/72PbdH (Yes I am aware of the CPU bottleneck and am planning to also upgrade the CPU in the future)

Hi, I have a problem with GPU Rx 580 2048sp 8GB. I have tried with many motherboards but still fail. However, recently I have tried it with a riser, and it finally works. So I reversed my action by putting it directly in motherboards, and It is still not working. Only Riser can revise my Rx 580, regardless of the boards. Please help me explain this situation. PS: These are the boards: Huanan Zhi X79, Asrock B250 Fatal1ty Gaming, MSI Z390 Gaming

This one is hard to explain, so I also included a video of the intermittent issue. So far, this has occurred like clockwork once daily but is remedied after a single restart. When I get home from work, the first startup often results in Windows loading incredibly slowly, like unusable speeds. Mouse movement stutters and Windows lags behind. Opening basic applications causes long freezes. This doesn't seem to recover, either. I turned on my PC once and took a shower, made dinner, and cleaned my room, and it still was in this eternal state of lag. To make matters worse, this often occurs alongside another issue where my second monitor display does not receive a signal. Turning the monitor off and on does nothing, switching cables and verifying it's secured. This is where things get weird, though. If I simply restart the PC, everything acts as normal. Windows is as responsive as it should be, and my second monitor comes to life. Every single time I start the PC for the first time in the day, I'm forced to power it off and basically retry. I believe I have ruled out software, as it continued occurring after a fresh Windows install. I performed ran Memtest86, knowing AM5 boards using EXPO had issues, but it passed. I ran several tests in Samsung magician, and everything passed. I'm concerned this could be a GPU problem; what should my next diagnostic step be? I do not have a second GPU on hand.
