Hi, out of these two boards the latter is on sale, and currently goes for ~2/3 of the X570 Unify. I was planning on buying the UNIFY, but since the only significant feature difference is the PCIE 4.0 chipset link (which I don't need) I'm tempted to go for the cheaper option. The mobo will go to support my workstation - R9 5900X + 2 GPUs. Am I missing anything or is it really good deal?

Hello there, i believe there might be something wrong with my memory speed... HWinfo: ASRock B450M-HDV, AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, G Skill F4-3200C16-8GVKB x2 The system is older already, but I configured it back then to run the actual 2933mHz memory speed that Zen+ supports, yet it doesnt appear to do so. I have enable XMP 2.0 in the bios and set the frequency to 2933mHz but the actual speed my pc is reporting to me is only 1463 mHz.... The motherboard should be able to handle up tp 3200mHz and specifically 2933 on these ram sticks. Now the website for the motherbaord also mentioned that OC might be needed for some sticks and some frequencies, but im not sure what im supposed to do with that information... Do i have to overclock them somehow to get the 2933mHz or is the frequency just a problem of the motherboard?

Recently I have decided that I need an upgrade. I'm currently running an i5 2400 with an OEM 1155 board. My CPU is no longer powerful enough for what I need to do with my PC as what I'm doing requires a high core count, and recently I've had this problem where the CPU fan just decides to stop spinning and it lets my CPU heat up to 100C while I'm putting it under load. I'm not able to configure the fan curve in the bios, as the bios for this motherboard is very simple because I slowly ripped out every part of a prebuilt Lenovo system while upgrading. SO i've been thinking of having 2 possible upgrade paths, and since I already have an AM3+ cooler on hand I thought to either go for an FX chip like the FX-8320 and an AM3+ motherboard since FX CPUs are relatively cheap and have high core counts, or go for a second hand 1st gen ryzen with AM4 board. I don't want to spend more than £100 on this upgraden at most, which is why I want to know if my AM3+ cooler can fit. It's the stock CPU cooler for the FX-8350 chip, and I don't want to have to spend extra on a new bracket for my current cooler, or to buy a new cooler outright.

I've got a gigabyte AB350M-HD3 paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 with 8x2 16gb kit of 3600mhz Corsair vengeance RGB pro. (don't think the mobo supports 3600 so I'm at 3200) I've tried changing the CMOS by switching off the power putting the new battery in and leaving it for a few minutes and shorting the pins yet it still resets the bios after I switch the plug off

So in my country they retail about same price, I know that b550 offers higher rams speeds and pcie4 but steel legend looks fancier and has more ports. Which one to choose? are there any more other differences?

Hello there, I'm planning out a new PC build and I'm having trouble finding a suitable MOBO, mainly because I want it to serve 2 main goals: I want to start overclocking (not hardcore LN2 magic, just whatever 360 AIO could handle) with R7 5800X I want to be able to convert it into workstation backbone when I upgrade my main PC/the need comes. That includes a need for multiple GPUs connected directly to the CPU Given (1) I need something with somewhat friendly BIOS, memory overclocking and decent VRM to be able to handle power needs of the 5800X (which should hopefully be enough to handle stock 3950/5950X once I transition into a workstation). Given (2) I want to be able to run two GPUs directly off the CPU (no SLI/Crossfire, just 2 independent devices), so I want the 16xPCIe to be reconfigurable to 2*8x. I'm not sure if I'll be able to saturate 8xPCIe 3.0 with my workload (Machine Learning), but to be cautious I'd probably go for 4.0. Must haves (minimum): post LEDs non-addressable RGB controller - I'd like to splash some colors here and there (at least) one slot for M.2 NVMe drive - more is not strictly necessary Nice to haves: 2x1 G LAN or better Postcode on board WiFi (directly screwed-in antena(s), no cables) Obviously: the cheaper the better Thanks in advance. PS: I was eyeing x570 Tomahawk, but it only has one CPU connected PCIe slot

I'm planning on buying the new Ryzen 5000 Series CPU. Couple of things: 01. This is the last year that AMD is going to support AM4 socket. 02. I don't plan on using PCIe 4.0 accessories or anything. So, 01. Should I buy a b450 that's going to support Ryzen 5000 with bios update? 02. Should I buy a b550 that's going to support Ryzen 5000 right out of the box? I ask this because if this is the last AM4 supported generation than would b550 or x570 support the next gen CPUs (AM5) cause if not then I'd rather save some cash with a b450. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm looking for an mITX AM4 board that's not too expensive. Under 250 CAD for sure, preferably under 175 CAD. I will not overclock. I'd prefer having USB-C and wifi but those aren't necessary. At least 1 4 pin RGB and 1 3 pin ARGB headers for sure. Colour doesn't really matter, just not green or red.

I am looking forward to upgrading my system at the end of November to a ryzen 7 3800X with the Gigabyte X570 aorus pro. My only concern is that I think my 4 year old dark rock 3 will not fit.I do not recognise the mounting system that I see on the pictures of the X570 mobo and seem way different to the mounting brackets I have left in the box. After a quick google search I've also noticed that AMD changed the way their mounting system works. My question to you, the reader is: is the highlighted mounting bracket compatible with the X570 motherboards.

Hello & thanks for stopping by, Im currently on i7-2600k from 2011 with a gtx 1060 using a SATA SSD for OS and HDD for storage. As you can see I hold onto my hardware to get the most value from it. I really want to get larger/high res monitor and larger SSDs for new game storage. This system wont handle the high resolution & I dont want to put money in a old system when it could go towards a new setup. Im ready to take the dive and upgrade to AMD5950x and RTX3080/Navi 21. However, this is the end of the AM4 socket. So there will be no upgrade path to the next gen cpu after the 5950x. Im not sure when AM5 will come out but should I just wait (hopefully just 1 year) for that or go with the 5950x?

Hello, I wanted to build my first PC and I was thinking of getting an rtx 3070 with the a new amd processor, but I don't know which motherboard I should use, my budget is around 1000 to 1200, I was thinking of maybe getting an Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite for 150 dollars or a MSI B550M PRO-VDH for 100, I don't know much about motherboards but I would want to know which would fit better.

Hello, this might be a bit of a long shot but I am planning on building a PC that will be partially used for virtualization testing. I plan on getting the new Ryzen 9, but due to type of applications, I would require as much RAM as possible, preferably 256GB. Would this be possible with AM4 board? Threadripper is sadly out of budget. Thank you.

So i'm trying to put together an ITX build for Zen3 and currently the 2 boards i've narrowed it down to are the X570 - I Strix and the B550 - I Strix. I'm planning on getting the 4950X or 5950X (whatever they name it). I have a few issues with the X570 Strix as well as the B550 Strix. The X570 doesn't have a front Type C connection for my Case and doesn't have 2.5G Lan. The B550 has both these features but falls short on dual Gen 4 M.2 slots. With Zen 3 announcement right around the corner, is it safe to say there are no plans for X670 this launch? I would have liked a top end ITX X670 board with all the latest advancements for day one of the launch. I'm worried that there isn't any X670 in the works due to the severe lack of discussion and or leaks around it. I know there were articles in December 2019 about it but there hasn't really been any news lately. Should i just sacrifice and get the X570-I Strix or play the gamble and wait till 8th October to see the announcement and hope there isn't another motherboard apocalypse? Sorry for the long post, thanks for any help.

Current system : ryzen 5 2600 GB rx5700xt 8gbx2 - vengeance 2400mhz (i know wtf? #2018RamPrices) Msi b450M gaming plus (seems the current faulty part) Corsair Ven 650M My usage is gaming for at least 4 hrs daily. And occasional streaming. Hoping the mobo lasts the full warranty period. Living in a hot country. Was eyeing the b450 tomohawk max, but is there a better msi board for around same price? Or some other brand? Also what chipset shoukd i go with for me setup?

Hello, I'm looking forward to my first pc build. I have decided to go for the Ryzen 5 3600, Vengeance LPX 8GB×2 DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM. My primary choice would be something in a smaller form factor (mATX or ITX) but support for NVMe storage is important. I would also like to upgrade RAM and Graphic Card (I don't know if that affects the choices) in the future. My budget is about INR14,000 (US$190ish). I tried searching the web but I couldn't accurately filter things.

So have a cheap motherboard form Asrock with a Intel i3 4130 CPU but i did not have a CPU cooler for intel LGA1150 / LGA1151 But i did have the AMD Wraith prism cooler that came in the box with my Ryzen 7 2700X, but that is for AM4 Sooo F*** thack i will just print an adapter for the motherboard to accept the AM4 cooler on the intel socket motherboard and i dont think that the stock AMD cooler should have any problems in keeping the I3 4130 cool. Printed in PLA (And yes i know ABS or PETG would have been better) but kinda just gonna YOLO it at the moment at see if it works. The print file i used is this one from thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4361016 But the designer of the file did not set the correct dimensions for the object so have to scale it up to get it to the right size. So print settings for the item in Repetier Host 0.2mm resolution 0.4mm nozzel 100% infill Scale by 9.75 to get it to the correct size. The adapter is mounted with small screws through the adapter and secured with plastic washers and self locking nuts on the back of the board. Anyway, not yet sure how its gonna hold up, dont have any ram to test it with, but if it works.... YAY!! and i not well POOP!!

So I made a post before about a bios update not letting my motherboard boot with a first gen CPU (check my page to find all the details) and someone said that the new bios update might have dropped support for first gen ryzen and that my Ryzen 3 3100 that I’m getting in the mail should work I found some articles saying that AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.3 has no support for first gen ryzen and that the beta fixed the issue, I actually saw this beta microcode and didn’t choose to install it because I see beta and I see bios update and I think to my self ‘no’. So was not getting the beta the mistake that means I’m going to have to wait 3 days to see if this board is bricked or not or is it just bricked (the bios update got to 100% and then rebooted to a black screen with the CPU error light on the motherboard on). Thanks for your help -Someone who probably can’t afford to get a new motherboard
