Hi I have been a long time fan of LTT and I think its been a guiding force in my schooling and career. Im putting this here because your latest video about buying used gpus over new gpus aligns perfectly with something I have been working on *link redacted by staff *. At a macro level I think your message is really important not only for the price of GPUs to come down but the overall impact that a 2-3 year refresh cycle has on the market and the environment. My ask is that I would like to use a clip of this video in paid ads to drive traffic to my website (currently sells two models: 3060 TI and 3070, we have about 100). Im happy to license it from you if I can afford it. For the longest time Netflix has been the provider of cheap unlimited movie streaming without any ads or commercials. Recently, an article by Jack Morse at Mashable has brought to our attention that Netflix has started testing a feature which would play skippable commercials between shows. Although this is only a limited test, a backlash on twitter has already started, expressing their total disapproval of this new practice. Personally, i think netflix would be ruining their reputation by introducing these commercials even if they are skippable. Prefix: I ended up buying synergy after seeing its ad from LMG. So I purchased pro, "Lifetime access to Synergy Pro" The software was buggy, crashed frequently, and the features didn't always work. That said at least they were updating it. Problem: Instead of giving updates to the user that invested in what was essentially beta software they Renamed the software I purchased as "Synergy Pro 1" and are forcing users to pay the full price again to upgrade and get "Lifetime access to Synergy Pro 2". Why this is an issue: I purchased this product so that I could help early development and eventually get the finished product. Its like I paid for development and didnt get the final product. It is the same product in every way (just more polished). I feel cheated and honestly, knowing that this is how they will continue development of this product I highly recommend you avoid the product until they finish it. I honestly wish LMG would stop advertising it. Finally even if you paid for Synergy pro, There is no discount on the update (that you already paid for)

recently I have had really long ads on YouTube in the 4 to 5 minute range I don't mind YouTube ads but this is a little ridiculous don't you think?

Popopop-pop #GoodByeMadaPoppas Google is set to start punishing mobile websites which show show hard-to-dismiss popups and advertisements that hinder users experience , Google today announced two major changes related to its mobile search results. One of it being a plan to discourage mobile sites from using intrusive popups that are hindrance to users browsing experience , These websites will be ranked lower in the search query later on as punishment! The system would target overlays that gray out the content beneath them to prevent you from reading a website, either for a few seconds or until you find and very carefully tap a little X to dismiss them. These count regardless of whether they load immediately after a page is opened or whether they appear after scrolling a certain distance.these will be taken into consideration to make the call to push down the rank of the mobile website , Also the sites that ignore Google’s advice will no longer be considered “mobile friendly" An Example image of mobile website showing interstitials/pop-up/advertisements that make content less accessible (These mobile websites will be ranked down from the google recommendations) This user interface might be visible as the user logs in to the website or it's presented in the middle of the browsing experience which users manually has to dismiss , not to mention how clammy users will infact tap the damn link instead of closing it , this version of ads are easy on the eyes & doesn't completely take up screen real estate & can be considered light nuisance , But still is a nuisance Second Example of an intrusive popup (these sometime have misleading message that user is tricked into clicking thinking it's the actual website taking up 100% of the screen UI) This form of ad/popup takes up the whole screen of the mobile users , blocking the site view entirely & the ads or message is forced to be read , these form of advertisement is a hefty nuisance to user experience if you recall Third example of another intrusive pop up (multiple links within the ad) These are the main pop ups that google consider to be a hindrance for browsing on a mobile site & these sites will be ranked down from their search bubble filtered results , However google is only going after the sites which use this for promotional or ad revenue purposes , they are allowing similar pop ups if in which it carries information the user has to read or needs to know like Age verification , Legal Notice, Cookies info Example for intrusive pop-up window that is allowed But Google is still allowing Banner based ads , which the website owners can use , but given on how much it takes up & the less space on the overall screen that is reserved for ads regarding the content, it's considered acceptable Last year google conducted an experiment with intrusive advertisement on mobile website on which apparently 69% of the visitors left the site immediately after viewing the install app banner & only 8-9% of those actually clicked the ad to install the app rest just continued on after closing the ad manually An Example image of a banner ad that is allowed Another feature rolling out with this is kinda minor , but it removes the visual label that shows the site is mobile friendly It will not affect current users as it is set to be effective from January 10, 2017, i think it's a good action from google, but i don't think it'll be that effective in terms of site owners not wanting to loose ad revenue still continuing this ad pattern or might get worse with ads linked on every freaking paragraph just to get around this, What do you think about this? Starting today, Instagram is allowing advertisers to start running 15-second video ads that'll appear in your feed the same way that of sponsored image posts as of youtube's model Instagram, owned by Facebook, has deals to show 15-second autoplay spots from Disney, Activision, Lancome, Banana Republic and CW. The ads will start appearing today and roll out over the coming weeks Instagram has reportedly been testing the videos for several months, so it's possible that you've already seen one, but video ads are widely launching today, beginning with spots from Disney, Banana Republic, Activision, Lancome, and the CW network. Disney is promoting Big Hero 6 and Activision is promoting Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, both of which come out next week. The odd thing is that, unlike the photo ads for which Instagram has put so much effort into ensuring a coherent style with the type of images you would normally see in a feed, the video ads are basically just commercials. Properly many of you hate advertisement as much as i do. But would watch it to support Linus. @Sharif on the forum posted back in august about how you could whitelist youtube channels, but still use adblock on other sites. I'm not sure many people saw the post or are active in the guide section on the forum. So i figured that posting it in off topic would be a great way to let people know. Hello, I'm in the market for a new microphone. I really like the sound of the one that NCIX uses for their advertisements before each episode of Netlinked Daily(most recent was sennheiser). Does anyone know what mic they use/what mic can achieve that type of quality?

Linus please don't put commercials in the MIDDLE of an unboxing like you did in the latest video of the Eton Rugged Rukus Solar Bluetooth Speaker. I understand that you have to make your living and you decided to use commercials to do so. I don't argue against that, I even disabled my adblock on youtube but please, please don't put the ads in the middle of the video. Thank you

This type of technology if actually embed into the modem/router itself can have a huge impact. On one hand we as consumer will benefit from getting rid of the pesky ads which have completely taken over any website/game/app etc. Which are so frustrating at times specially advertisement with adult content. But on the other companies/websites that only rely on advertisement as their prime revenue stream could potentially close down. Even big giants like Google rely on them heavily and specially the free apps and games. P.s:- To anyone who is going to point out ad block etc. Yes I am aware of them but this is a completely different take on blocking the ads.
