I need to know how many case fans (or fans total) can be supported by the MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE AC ATX LGA1151 Motherboard, and if the total fan headers include the CPU Noctua NH-U12A 60.09 CFM CPU Cooler fans. I plan to use the Corsair ML140 97 CFM 140 mm Fans which come in pairs per order/purchase. I am not water-cooling the build it'll be used with. The case I'm using is the Fractal Design Meshify S2 ATX Mid Tower Case which claims to support 9 fans. Ideally, I'd like to support 1 back case fan, 3 top case fans and 3 front case fans, less ideally perhaps 1 back case fan, 2/3 top case fans, and 2/3 front case fans. Just a bit of overview, I have no ethernet wall plug in my room thus must use an AC wifi motherboard, hence the MSI above. I plan not to have to upgrade for a few years, hence I want the cooling to be as many fans as possible for hopefully longevity sake. Not to mention dust is a concern in my room so I figure more fans will help.

Okay so i just bought a new msi rx 5700 evoke oc (non xt version) and I've been getting very low fps in all games. About 120-180 in csgo, 30~40 in ac odyssey and about 60 in jedi fallen order. I ran the benchmark test online and got good results. I deleted my old nvidea drivers and upgraded to the latest amd drivers but these issues continue, mainly on csgo and ac odyssey. My resolution is 1920x1080. I tried overclocking as well. It only reduced the fps in csgo. Please help me out Thanks

Hello, I was wondering if there were a way for me to fix my laptops brick thing after I dropped it on the ground. It no longer seems to be charging the laptop though I can hear the electricity when I plug the plug into the socket. I believe it is the transformers problem since I think I heard the iconic electricity zap when plugging the two parts in ( the part where you connect the plug to the actually transformer which then lets you plug the laptop,(though I no longer hear it)) Is there a way to fix this or will I need to get a near transformer? I have dropped it before without any noticeable problems( though provided long-term damage my have been a cause). Any solutions or advice to this? Thank you. Azade12

I have two computers running in my shared office space with a combined maximum power draw of about 700-800 watts under full load. I'd like to use an air conditioner in the same room. The one I have is rated for 450 watts which leaves 1800 - 750 - 450 = 600 watts left over. I'm not sure what else is on the circuit but I think both computers and the air conditioner wouldn't trip the breaker. Even if it won't trip the breaker, is it a good idea to have an AC unit on the same circuit as the computers? I know there will be a voltage drop when the AC unit starts, so is this likely to be problematic?

So this is strange, i bought a used ac68 wifi card for cheap. And, it seems to find my 2.4ghz network on windows. But when i switch to my mac os it finds my 5ghz network full coverage, but not in windows. Does anyone know what the trick is to get 5ghz working on windows?

Hi guys, Can anyone recommend me an LTE router, that has AC wifi and multiple gigabit ethernet ports on the budget? A USB 3.0 port for a hard drive would be a bonus. I was looking at the D-Link DWR-118, but realized, that it needs an external LTE dongle and only one of the four LAN ports has gigabit speed.

Does it matter if I have: 1. AC (220v) go to 18v DC or 2. AC (110v) go to 18v DC

Hello guys, I'm new to the forum. Sorry if this post is badly formatted, Anyone knows what kind of DC output is this or knows what is it called? it has 2 pins or of some sort? (Picture below) The power rating is normal 100-240V ~ 50/60 Hz | 1.5A (1.5 A). I would like to use it as secondary monitor but the power adapter is gone.

I'm probably getting in a little over my head here, I only know enough about electricity to get myself in trouble... Maybe you guys will spark my interest enough for me to spend days researching electricity. But what if Edison won, would power supplies still be necessary? I know that back then, with the current tech they basically had to use AC for long distance transmission, but now that we are getting better DC converters and they are starting to run lines with them.... Anyone in the industry know if DC lines are the future, and if so, could this potentially eliminate the need for power supplies in computers?? The main thing holding back compact designs? Just curious...

This is more for research at the moment however, I was wondering if any wireless networking manufactures (Intel Preferred) that made 3 band wireless cards for pcs/laptops that can run on the 2.4GHz spectrum, the 5GHz spectrum and the 5.8GHz (band C) spectrum. I know that a licence is required to legally use band C in the UK. I saw what I think was an intel 5.8Ghz wifi card a year or 2 back but I can't seem to find that one anymore.

I recently purchased Assetto Crosa (AC from here on) and i do like the game overall, one thing that i have been struggling with though is setting up the Force Feedback (FFB from here on) to be similar to that of Project Cars (pCars from here on). I have been dabling with the settings but i havnt had luck in getting the FFB stiffer to be closer to that of pCars. I know that they are two different games, but i really think the stearing on AC is way too light and gets even lighter when understeering. i have no idea what my wheels are doing and its really causing me problems. i treid increasing the gain but all that did was make the wheel super shaky and caused vibrations that make earthquakes feel like cellphone vibration. I am using a logitech G29 with shifter. please help

Hello all, I am trying to do some research into what wireless routers would be a good value buy for a family member. They have a fairly large number of wireless devices at any given time (3-4 phones, 2-3 tablets, and 3-4 laptops). Are there any routers that you can recommend from personal experience? Also general suggestions (even if you haven't used it personally) are appreciated. Thanks!

Hey all, moving into a new house soon and I'm looking to upgrade from our old Netgear N600. Our new house is about 4,000 sq ft. over two stories (2,000 per floor) and I would like to have the whole house covered. My mild guess tells me that a Ubiquiti AP AC LR would cover it... But I don't know. suggestions?

Hey guys. I have a traxxas slash. The Slash only came with a car charger because it charges faster (and for money). I'm tired of having to plug it into my car whenever I need to charge it. Traxxas offers an AC-to-DC converter for $20. I have seen other AC-to-DC converters for only $5. So my question is will any AC-to-DC converter work on my Traxxas Slash or will only the Traxxas brand AC-to-DC converter work (without damaging the car battery). I hope this makes sense. If there are any questions, ask me below. I would appreciate all knowledge and answers.

Hi All, I recently upgraded my router (Archer D9) and wireless adapter in my PC (Archer T9E). I have set up the 5Ghz channel to be 44 with 40Mhz width. However my PC is still only using .11n not .11ac. Could this be because of range? I am one floor above but the router is directly below me and I get full signal strength on both 2.4 and 5Ghz. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Hello everyone, today I am bringing you a somewhat, easy question to answer (for the networking people that is). I currently have AT&T. I don't have that many ISP options where I live currently. Which is Illinois, but my internet speeds are roughly: 20 up and 2 down. We have the At&t provided modem, which I think is why my parents are complaining about internet being slow and not getting a very good signal upstairs. My Fiancee and I are in the basement with both our gaming PCs that are Ethernet connected to the modem and etc. Would everyone get a better signal and internet performance if we got an aftermarket Router like the TP-Link Archer C7 V2? Would this help with overall internet speed, or would it really just help with the Wi-Fi problem. (Also we are moving soon and I am going to set up the Wi-Fi in a more suitable area that doesn't have that much interference. TL;DR: Modem/Router (provided by AT&T) is sitting in the basement, not a strong singal upstairs. Do I get a AP or upgrade to a good Aftermarket router like the TP-Link Archer C7 V2 with good router positioning in the new house.

So I come from a retail IT tech, and corporate onsite background. I'm used to leather shoes, white shirt and not being Cat food. I decide that I need to find a different job because I was simply not being challenged where I was working. You know how there's a stage in life where you're looking for a job and you apply to one that you're way underqualified for? You know you're not going to get it but somehow it makes you feel like you're either some kind of hero for actually applying or you're simply wasting the company's time because the job sounds amazing but you'll never get it so "screw you, company in question!"! That was me. Hi, I'm Stan and I'm 22 years old. The company called me back. They were like: "Hey Stan. Can you come in for an interview?" I went for my interview. And on my way back home it hit me like a train: "They were simply wasting my time back". I wasn't even home yet when they called me with an offer. I had applied to a job at a predator research centre and lodge and I somehow landed this job as IT department manager, out in the bush, wearing Khakis with absolutely no idea what I'm doing. This is fine, right? WRONG! The previous IT Manager had decided that the best idea to supply Wi-Fi to the lodge was using three netgear 150mbps routers in weatherproof steel boxes placed strategically around the lodge connected by homeplug. I knew nothing about Wi-Fi networks besides that you need the little antennas sticking out at the back or else the reach was pretty much non-existent. I've had brushes with Cisco and Juniper equipment back in the corporate world but never actually worked on them. I took it upon myself to get Wi-Fi smart and fix this colossal mess. After long nights of reading up I went to a local store and saw a Ubiquity UniFi AP. That was it. I fell in love with the interface they had demonstrated to me. I absolutely loved the fact that there's a sexy product that actually gets shiz done without breaking the bank. And the story started. I had done some research and had purchased cat5e UV Shielded cable with shielded RJ45s and 6 Ubiquiti NanoStation M2s I used 2 of them as bridges and the remaining 4 as APs. That in it self was a dream. The setup was so easy that a toddler with ADHD could have done it. After mounting them it turns out they aren't actually a sore to the eye as much as I had originally anticipated and the range on those puppies are freaking amazing. Fast forward a couple of months: We're building a new laboratory where we plan to do research and house predator sperm. This building is a bit far from the lodge where the mikrotik dish is that supplies us "Interwebs". The lodge also contains my server room where all the data on the research we've done is kept. Where all the data of the new feline TB research is kept and where the data from the laboratory in question needs to be kept. I figure let’s throw two NanoStations at it and call it a day. No. The bridge worked. But it was unstable. It was an absolute nightmare. Had Ubiquiti failed me? Is this where I part ways with Ubiquiti and fork out the cash to some overpriced horrid eyesore? No. I had decided that I have to obtain an Ubiquiti Certificate. I scheduled and attended the UBWS course at a networking supplier in the city. There I was introduced to the NanoBeam AC 16dbi. The smallest, cutest little piece of hardware I've ever had the pleasure of working on. I immediately purchased two of them. But i wanted to put them to the test. I have a friend that lives high up on a mountain in the city and I have line of sight from my house to his. It's about 6KM apart. I had borrowed my dad's binoculars and a couple of lasers (A completely useless idea but hey, let’s have fun)! We set off connecting the NanoBeams. We mounted them on camera tripods on the roof and used a home-made laser mount to aim the two at each other. This didn't work. We then decided to use the software to connect the two up and it was absolutely nowhere prefect (or good even) But it worked. We played a game of Call of duty 4 and I leached the crap out of his internet. The next morning I had climbed the poles at the lodge, mounted the two nanobeams and tuned them nearly perfect. We did it! The lab now has a "solid" connection to the lodge. Stan still has a job and for the predictable future; Ubiquiti has a hard earned fanboy.
