I have gotten a good deal on both of these ssds. Both are at the same price. But the 980 doesn't have DRAM cache and the Addlink one has SLC cache. Then there is the 870 QVO with cache and a good Reputable brand name but it is sata instead of m.2 . 870 seems like the best option for me but i would like some help deciding. Which one should i get? I occasionally play AAA RPGs but not a regular gamer.

GPU: 4070Ti or 7900XT? Cost differnece is negligible. My thoughts, Ray Tracing & DLSS vs 20Gb VRam, what am I missing to make a decision? FYI COD performance is important to me. 2. GPU: If 4070Ti, is there any difference between GeForceRTX 4070 Ti WINDFORCE OC and the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EAGLE OC (rev.1.0)? At all?! 3. GPU: Should I care about Ray Tracing? At all?! 4. GPU: Should I care about whether my monitor choice is GSync, FreeSync or ActiveSync? (Assuming RTX4070Ti choice) 5. GPU Should I care about GSync vs GSync compatible? 6. RAM: Best RAM to pair with the 7800X3D? I've read 6000Hz CL30 is best. But Supplier contacted me today with the following: "We've been checking through the chosen components and have noticed that, even though RAM capable of up to a 6000MHz frequency has been added to this order, due to how new DDR5 still is, it is unfortunately a possibility that the system will not be able to reach a stable 6000MHz memory frequency as yet with 4 sticks. That is likely to change in the near future once newer BIOS updates are released to better support higher memory frequencies. Please let me know if you're happy for our team to clock the memory at its highest stable frequency, or if you'd like to downgrade the RAM to possibly make a saving on its cost." Does he know what he's talking about? What should I do? 7. RAM: Am I right in saying 2 x 32Gb is a better combination than 4 x 16Gb for this RAM, on this mobo, with this CPU? If not, then what? 8. Feedback on a better choice for any of the other components are welcomed. Hi, I've come across a really good deal on a Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD 500GB and I thought I could maybe replace it with the intel 660p ssd I currently have, but is the samsung drive even gonna make a difference when it comes to booting up windows? I have an i7-10700k so I cant use PCIE 4.0 but I saw the Samsung 980 Pro had dram where as my intel 660p doesnt.

So after having issues with my previous low end Medion gaming laptop I bought my friend's used Alienware 15 R3. Alienware 15 R3 Specs: Intel I7 7850 GTX 1070 16GB RAM Win10 He kept his upgraded drives and I installed a Samsung 980 1tb drive for the OS and Games and kept the 1tb HDD for storage. The laptop runs great but I get stuttering in the following games despite average frame rates of between 60 and 100fps. The laptop also gets hot in the area of the SSD to the point you can't touch it for more than a second or 2. Furmark does not stutter and CPU and GPU temps look good while running it. I tried migrating GTA to the HDD and despite slow load times the frame rate sticks between 50 and 62 FPS at 1080p ultra settings (comparable to those with the M.2) with no stutter. The deck of the laptop was also noticeably cooler. I later realised the 980 has no DRAM so it could be that. Stuttering Games: Battlefield 4 GTA V Jedi: Fallen Order Anno 1800 What's strange about this is I had a similar experience when I installed a 970Evo 500GB in my old Medion Erazer laptop. It had poor windows performance and load times before the install with poor but playable FPS but no stuttering. After the install load times were significantly better as was windows performance but games started suffering from stutter. I also noticed the area around the SSD getting very hot. I put the stutter down to thermals as the cooling on the Medion was poor and it sported only a GTX 1050m. So, do M.2 drives overheat or is this a lack of DRAM issue?

I have the GIGABYTE Z390 Aorus with a 500gb Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVME SSD in the third (bottom) of the three M.2 slots. I purchased and installed a 1tb Samsung 980 M.2 into the first (top) slot. Skipping the middle slot mainly because I was too lazy to remove the GPU to get to it. Since installing the 980, I have come to realise that the transfer speed between the two ssd's appears to be capped at 1.5gb/s (a far cry from their theoretical and advertised maximums) I am wondering if I have put them into the wrong slots and if so, what slots do they need to go in? Thanks in advance for any help.

Would it be possible to get the full speed of an PCIE4.0 4X NVME SSD if you put in in some kind of PCIE adapter card that is 8X but PCIE3.0 for pc’s and CPU’S (caughs intel ) that don’t support PCIE 4.0? Does this already exist? Is it even possible?

Hello all, I have had a GTX 980 for about 5 years now. For over half that time I have been having this issue. When gaming my screen will randomly crash to the black screen that shows that its on but nothing is plugged in. CTRL ALT delete and nothing else works- the only thing I can do is hold the power button to hard reset. It is almost always random but with the Witcher 3 it would happen in certain spots over and over which would impede my progress. This did allow me to film what was happening, though. Here is a link to a minute long video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DvMXQ6cZHc&t=2s It does not happen when watching videos or browsing the internet, only when gaming probably about every hour. Namely the Witcher 3, GTAV, Fallout 4, modded Skyrim, Assassins Creed Origins and others. So seemingly newer, high end games but I have 100 plus hours on Red Red Redemption 2 and if it ever happened it was only once or twice where I don't remember. I have changed power supplies, cords, and monitors. I have swapped in my buddies 980TI and it did not crash so I don't think its the motherboard. I have upgraded from windows 7 to 10 and done fresh installs of each. I have the most recent driver always but have experimented with older drivers. It is not overheating- it usually sits in the low 70s at load and idles in low 40s. The only thing that does work is using MSI afterburner to underclock the card and move all of the dials all the way to the left. I don't think it has ever crashed when I do this but it irks me because I'm deliberately holding back what is supposed to be a performance product. The only things I can think of that I have not tried are changing the thermal paste- which I am doubtful about because temps seem fine- and using a non-HDMI port/cord, which would suck if it were the case because I use my TV which only does HDMI. I have been dealing with this for years and if anyone has any possible solution I would greatly appreciate it! The rest of my PC specs are below: Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK motherboard Intel 4690k CPU OC'd to 4.3 EVGA GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0 16GB G.Skill ram at 2133 Samsung EVO SSDs

Hey guys, Im in a little bit of a pickle, and I think I could use a hand. PC Specs: I5 3570k asrock z77 extreme4 MSI GTX 980 4gb OC The problem: Every time I open Adobe Premier 2020 (Which may be the problem??) I recive the following error, odd thing is I am run on my 980. SO, after updating the 980, on board graphics, adobe, its still didn't work. I have disabled my on board graphics card, thinking maybe that would work. As of now I have the on board graphics disabled and the 980 SHOULD be set to default when premier open (and everything else.) I still get the same error.. Am I missing something here? I am worried that my set up may be too outdated for the newest version? Any help would be appreciated. I am getting back into video editing an

So, I turned my computer on today, and no third monitor. I'm using a reference GTX 980, and all 3 monitors are using the display port outputs of the card. I have tried swapping around and using different ports, they all work. I've tried using different cables, and tested the one to the monitor that it won't recognise, nothing wrong there. The monitor itself works as I can plug my laptop into it. It seems as though my 980 has simply decided it doesn't want to use 3 monitors anymore. I have confirmed there is nothing wrong with the monitors, nothing wrong with the cables, and nothing wrong with the graphics card ports. No new graphics card updates, no new software, no new Windows updates, nothing. I'm running out of ideas. Anyone have any recommendations?

Hello boys! I am thinking about GPU upgrade do you think it's worth it? Currently I have EVGA GTX 980 combined with i7-4790S I was looking at GTX1660ti and I think it's one of the best graphics cards in performace/value. I think the 1660ti has better temperatures and lower power consuption but that performace differential isn't not that big. (Yeah i know about 6GB of GDDR6) Mostly I am playing overwatch and I am getting about 78-80°C on GPU. So my question is. Is there any signifficant perfomance upgrade or only in temperature and power consuption? THX for all replies and as always sorry for mistakes ?.

Hi I just redid all the thermal compound on my graphics card. The VRAM chip's had cooling pad's which where in a bad shape so I had to chuck them. I used a sufficient dose of thermal compound to compensate. I'm going to measure the the temps of the chip's with a laser thermometer tomorrow and I'm wondering what's the safe operating temperature for these chip's. If they are to high I will go out and get some proper thermal pads. Thanks Fred

Hey guys, I'm currently pairing the GTX 980 with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600. Any better value CPU's for around the same price/lower price that won't bottleneck? I'm looking for mainly a gaming CPU but working multi-core activities would also be good.
