Not sure if this is right place to ask. Im looking to sell a used 7870. Looking advice on how much £ to to ask for it and if there are any good sites to sell it on. Was thinking of using gumtree which is like Craigslist for uk and Ireland.

It goes so fast when ingame, fine for 4-10 running at around 1500 rpm minutes then the fans start accelerating until boom 4000 RPM!!! Not even hot, just fast. The highest temperatures are around 67 Degrees C so not high for radeon 7870. I have used software that controls fan speed including msi afterburner, HIS iTurbo and CCC Fan Controller. I need answers, I need hope. I'm not new to PC Gaming btw had this problem for over the year (since I bought the gpu) but didn't game that much so didn't care.

In preparation for that Witcher 3 Hype, I've decided I'm going to sell my trusty ol' 7870 for a new GPU that should be able to run Witcher 3 60fps near Ultra settings, the problem is what GPU I should buy? Should I get the GTX 970, R9 290 or what? The GTX 970 is quite expensive here in the UK (around £275 which is ridiculous when compared to US prices) and the R9 290 is much cheaper, at least USED. Thanks.

Hey ! My brother just got a new card (the same as mine) and i wanted to test in Crossfire before just for the lolz..but the result are very disappointing. It's even worse than with 1 GPU. <_< I think that it's because of my CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 3.2gh/z... Bottleneck over 900  What does you guys think ? I had the latest GPU Driver.

Hello, How much is an XFX 5870 worth second hand? I want to buy a GPU for my friend and it seems good. I will be using craigslist. Thanks!

Hey  My dad is planning to buy myself a new GPU and will give my AMD 7870 to my brother, and we saw a pretty good opportunity : a HIS Radeon R9 270X - IceQ X² Turbo Boost - 2 Gb for 90€ (112$) ! Someone already use it for a moment, but hey, for that price i'm not going to complain. But my 7870 is still doing a great job and the R9 270x seems pretty much the same as a 7870 (since you do a crossfire with both of them).. What do you guys think ?

I have a i7 4770k and a 7870 Ghz edition. I know that there is no "bottle-neck" but, i know arma is a REALLY CPU intensive game. So is it worth a crack? I dont wanna stress my CPU for no reason.

Hi, Everything in the title is Should i sell my GPU and buy a new one ? Like a R9 270x ? I wanted a new case to put my H80i in it and overclock the shit out of my Black Edition CPU. So ?

Hello, I recently upgraded to Crossfire and its been great ( I can now do 4k). There is one major problem... My 2nd (Bottom one) is a 7870tahit and it gets real hot, it runs at ~90C and once it reaches around 92C it makes my PC crash and the screen gets black with random dirty white lines near the top and then shuts off, during this process the headphones make a terrible noise sounding like baaaaaa electronically. The 1st gpu 7950, is at a good temp. (77-85c) and does not make issues. Note all fans are on max rpm. What can I do to fix it? Update: The PC is even worse now... I opened the side panel and now its at 95c for both the cards and its a steady 95c. I upgraded my case from a bit fenix merc alpha to the aerocool extreme engine 3T that I got from a friend. Any help, I'm scared of using the PC now! Also I play alot of BF4 on ultra 1080p 200% res. scale (4k). Please help. Here are pictures of my current PC. http://postimg.org/image/9b0c5sueh/ http://postimg.org/image/rhn8d9vqh/ http://postimg.org/image/b1jd7abxl/ http://postimg.org/image/bzv4vtzvt/ http://postimg.org/image/h174axwq1/ http://postimg.org/image/584pszaw9/ http://postimg.org/image/7znzjl9ex/ http://postimg.org/image/r0xfd3ill/ http://postimg.org/image/a2yer997t/ http://postimg.org/image/klyegfbvt/ http://postimg.org/image/xao3mcsmh/ http://postimg.org/image/n9nuqs4x5/\ Sorry for bad picture quality.

Behold the Powercolor 7870 Devil, equipped with a very sleek looking red and black 2 slot 3 fan cooler design, that pushes the card from 1100mhz base clock to a staggering 1250mhz boost clock at load, making this card the highest clocked 7870 ever by a significant margin. The card also ships with Powercolor's own overclocking utility and the devil gaming pad. Read more here : http://www.techpowerup.com/187166/powercolor-releases-the-devil-hd7870.html

I got a 7870 second hand and it is not booting. It may be a broken one but the thing is I had this problem with another card too so I think it is some sort of incompatibility with the mobo (Asrock H61M-GS), so has anyone ever encountered this issue? Before I tried to run a 7870 Taithi and it did not boot too that computer is currently running 6870 so it is working it just won't run 7870. I updated the bios to the latest and it is still the same, also the power supply is FD Integra 500W and it is strong enough, one of the six pin connector is from the molexes but I dough that is the issue too. So any ideas? I will be getting my own PC on Saturday and I will try it on it then but at this point I have no PC which to test with

Hi my friend is considering buying a kraken g10 for his graphics card, will he loose the warrenty when he attaches it?

I found a great deal on NCIX.com (CANADA) for a 7870 ASUS for 249.99 including shipping and tax! This also includes Tomb raider, FC3 Blood Dragon, Bioshock Infinite. I decided to go against the Tahiti le or whatever it is for the reason of my future build using a ASUS MOBO and the GPU tweak utility and the MSI card of this GPU wasnt what I was looking for in terms of looks. :) http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=73627&promoid=1304

I currently have a AMD radeon 6770 and can run most games on high graphics at about 50 FPS. Is it worth it to upgrade to a 7870? I had this one in mind http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605 . Also if I do upgrade will I be bottle necked with my current system. Other specs: CPU: AMD FX-6100 3.3.GHz RAM: 8gbs DDR3 1600

So i have a MSI 7870 OC in my system and i think the temps are maybe a bit too high? The card idles at around 30°C, fan at 30%, so that's fine, But under load, last checked with Bioshock infinite max settings, temps go up to almost 100°C, a bit over 90°C realistically, fan at 60%, and when the fan speed goes over 46% the fans start to give off a high pitched annoying noise and a hate it. And around 80°C when folding, fan at 46% for more silence (when i'm sleeping :D) My case is a Define R4 with 2 intakes a the front (top one is a air penetrator and the top HDD cage is removed), another intake a the bottom, 2 exhausts at the top and 1 exhaust at the back so case airflow should not be a problem. Sooo should i return it and ask for another brand cooler or isn't this a problem with the twin frozr cooler?

Hey all this is the first post on this forum after hearing about it on the live stream so go easy one me. I have decided to purchase the AMD 7870 due to seeing it winning the $200 dollar price point "Video Card Showdown" from the Bioshock Infinite tests. However I am wondering which one of these cards to get as there seems to be a few, and I am not quite sure which one to go for. The only feature that would be a bonus for me would be if the cards are relatively quite, apart from that I'm not overly bothered. I hope someone can help out, as it feels quite overwhelming looking at all these cards, Hazomg

Which One? Should I go Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Hey everyone thought i'd show off my first build I did a lot of research have made a few mistakes along the way like getting an fx-6100 but i will soon replace it. I chose my case to be the Zalman Z11, there are many reasons for this, one i was looking for something that would break away from the traditional box look that most cases are using. The case was also inexpensive allowing me to spend more money on the insides which is what really counted for me. As a side note this case i really bad for cable management, it doesn't include any grommits except two water cooling ones at the back of the case and there isn't much room behind the motherboard tray. That being said if you take your time and really plan out the cable management you can make it look pretty clean. Specs CPU: Amd fx-6100 @ 4.5ghz (Soon to be swapped out) Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 Motherboard: Asus M5a97 R2.0 GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7870 PSU: Diablotek 575watt Fans: 3x Enermax blue led, 1x blue gelid wing and 1x stock zalman blue led HDD: Seagate momentus xt 500gb If anyone has any suggestions on how i could improve on it let me know! It's constantly a working progress and I'm open to any feedback you guys/girls have! Here's the side of the case, sorry if it's a little cludered and i don't have a good camera as you can see but it will have to do. Here's the front of the case where you can see I have 2 fans one is a gelid wing the other stock from Zalman. The Gelid wing is undervolted and only comes on when I really need it. Here's the top of the case where there are 2 Enermax fans. Both of these are mounted on the inside behind the grills so it gives this cool scally effect. There's no room to mount them directly under the fins. Here's a shot of the inside of the case and of my cable management skills. I think i did a decent job considering that this isn't the best case for cable management and I have a non modular psu. The top cables are the front panel cables and I plan on hiding those by cutting a hole through the top of the case which will directly run to the back of the case so those cables won't be visible anymore. Here's a slightly close shot. Here's a shot at the custom grommits i've made, they're made from foam paper which can be bought at any dollar store. All i did was cut a rectangular piece out and wedged it under some cables at the back and it stayed in place so no need for glue. I find it makes the build look much cleaner. Here's what my whole rig looks like at night. This isn't the same room as the one in the photo's above as this was taken in my dorm room but you get the idea. And that's it hope you guys enjoyed and again if you have any suggestions on improvments shoot them to me!

Hello there! I already made a post here before about a planned build, it had a core i-5 3470 and i was quite pleased with how it looked on paper. but then... I read the anandtech article about the best gaming CPU in 2013 and according to them it was the A85600K. I'll link it at the end of the post. I was wondering if the build i had planned out would work well for gaming. I plan on gaming on a single monitor, 1080p. Budget is 800euro's. On a final note, i live in Belgium :D THANKS IN ADVANCE! Case: Bitfenix Prodigy 81.99 (I'm not sure about this case though, if anyone knows any great looking Mini-ITX cases...) CPU: A85600K 94.90 Mobo: ASRock FM2A85X - ITX 94.90 GPU: XFX radeon 7870 DD Black edition 229.95 RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 67.9 PSU: BeQuiet 500W 80+ Silver 64.9 SSD: Samsung 840 120Gb 89.90 HDD: Got a 500Gb from my old system FREE Grand total so far: 724.44 Link to the article: http://www.google.be/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=9&sqi=2&ved=0CIEBEBYwCA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.anandtech.com%2Fshow%2F6934%2Fchoosing-a-gaming-cpu-single-multigpu-at-1440p&ei=vXbFUYHYDtDesgbJroDYBw&usg=AFQjCNH906LITeyvnFdpd3sxKxf1ZNh6Yw&bvm=bv.48293060,d.Yms Suggestions and advice please! In December last year I built my first gaming rig, with graphic design capabilities. Here is the imgur album with original build pictures. It performs just as I'd like, works great in games at mid-high settings and handled Photoshop and Illustrator like a champ. My only issue with it was that it was loud when it was idle, and insanely loud at load. In an effort to curb this, I bought a PWM Fan for my Antec Kuhler 620, which minimised my noise levels by a small amount, but the pump on the Antec was still the loudest part of my system. I put up with this for a few months until I could afford new parts, having just spent $1600NZD on my build. Here's a video of the build as well. Current Parts List Intel i5 3570k Noctua NH-U12s 3x Noctua NF-A14 FLX Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3 1600mhz Sapphire Radeon 7870 OC Ghz edition Antec HCG-M 620w PSU Samsung 830 120b (Boot drive) Samsung 840 120gb (Games drive) Fractal R4. Current Status Future Plans My plans are: Install more sound dampening material around the case. Install a fanless 500w Seasonic PSU If anyone has any suggestions, please do post, I'd love some encouragement and some good ideas, as well as something I may have overlooked Thanks for reading! I have an ASUS directcuII graphics card. The temps on this thing go ll the way up to 89c when i'm bitcoin mining. I never leave the bitcoin miner on for long as i'm not comfortable with the temps that high. i know that i have plenty of airflow in the case and the card i had before this (gigabyte GTX 660) would only hit temps about 68c. Why is this card getting so much hotter that the last one?
