Throw at me all the things! All the benchmarks! All the scores! Cause I a nt find any one comparing in the same graph. So I am at the point in my build where I am just about dome and ready to start building but just want to check my graphics card is decent before I waste £180 on one. So my budget is £190 for my GPU, with my overall build being £550 and it is here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/R4R6P6 (pretty sweet, am I right?) And I am curious now as to whether the GTX 760 or the R9 280x can deliver better performance as they're basically the same price (if not the 760 is about £20 cheaper which could go into an SSD). I will be using it for gaming at ultra settings at 1080p (BF4/GMOD/CS:GO/MC/TF2) as well as 3D modelling/animation using Autodesk maya/CAD/Professional 2015, blender and 3DS max. I will also be doing some amateur video editing to try it out. Thanks for the help!

I'm currently in the process of sending my 'faulty' GTX 760 OC for RMA. The issue was that certain games, primarily DirectX 9.0 based, kept crashing with a loss of signal, then displaying the error message 'Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernal version... stopped working and has recovered'. Having read a few threads about power limit it occurred to me that maybe I have exceeded or come close to my TDP and this is causing the issue. I own a Corsair CX500 500W PSU. (80+ Bronze) I researched that my PC uses: AMD A8 7600 LOAD TDP: 107W GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC LOAD TDP: 286W WD Cavier Blue 1TB LOAD TDP: 6.8W Overall that's around 399.8W power usage, leaving 100.2W (Plus some other traces of power usage e.g. RAM) Note: My components are not overclocked above the MSI factory overclock. Could this be the issue? Second opinions welcome! I would try buying a 600W PSU and testing but my RMA is limited to the 16th Jan so I don't really have time. Thanks

Hi guys, I have been looking at the EVGA 760 SC and then I noticed that they were bringing out the new 960. My question is; is it worth the extra few quid and the waiting time to get the 960 or should I stick with the original plan and get the 760 while it is cheaper? what do you guys think? I would use it for casual gaming to my tv-monitor Thanks in advance Kalinco

I bought an asus mars 760x2 because I wanted the most cuda cores I could afford and not the single best card. because of both 760's the card is described as 4gb of ram when 2gb is usable Is this the only spec that doesn't translate into doubling? I plan to use this mainly for rendering purposes. I know octane renderer prefers non sli, multiple gpu setups. I guess another question I have is, if it truly is only 2gb of usable vram... what does that say for the 512bit memory bus? Thanks in advance!

Hi Everybody! This is my first post on LTT and I thought I'd share a little bit of my build with you guys. Hope you all like it and would love to hear what you think about. Also, if you have any suggestions for future additions or modifications please comment! So let's start of with a bit of reference and build specs Corsair 500R Case Msi Z87 GD65 Gaming Edition Intel i5 4670k @ 4.5Ghz Msi GeForce 760 Kingston Hyper X 16Gb 1866MHz Antec 750W HC Pro Samsung 840 250Gb SSD WD 4TB Green 7200Rpm HDD WD 1TB Green 7200Rpm HDD NZXT Kraken x61 280mm AIO Corsair k70 Blue Switch Razer Mamba and Naga Epic Chroma Asus PA248Q This PC has been in the works for the last year and it's my first build. It's been a blast learning about all the parts and really learning about what a PC is really capable of. The most fun though has been the constant desire to perfect the look and operation of it. It's a never ending project and that is the best part! Heres a few shots. Got the color representation as close as possible but quite frankly the lighting in the basement is horrible and doesn't do the color justice. This first shot is the stock case in white with the grill on the side. The first major mod, other than the obvious color change, was to put window on this baby. They always say, It's what is on the inside that counts right? Technically this case does not support a 280mm rad up top but with a little creativity and a dremel, you'll find that it does fit Please excuse the few scratches in the paint. Had it lying down on the desk the other day and scratched a few spots here and there. Going to be touching up the paint and probably putting on a clear coat to protect it a bit better soon enough Below is an example of some clean up work that needs to be done. also why you always just go buy the right tool for the job. Some of the future updates I have in mind for this rig are a bit of painting to be done with the fans to have them match the rest of the build. Love those Noctuas but man are they uuuugly. I'd really like to build a power supply cover and have only done a little bit of research into it so if you guys have any tutorials or suggestions on how to go about it I would love to see them! Cable sleeving is also on the books but I'm kind of hesitant to do that because of the time and skill involved but who knows, might just go for it anyways. Also, do any of you guys/gals know about smoking acrylic? The window on there right now is very clear and I think with a slight smoke it might make the lighting a little less harsh. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thanks for looking!

Hi, I'm a little unhappy with my build at the moment and I'm looking to give it a refresh. I've only had it about 5 months, but I bought it prebuilt and there are bits I'm just not happy with. My current component specs are: i7 4790k Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB XFX R9 270 Coolermaster (I think) 600W PSU SSDs and HDDs... First off, I want a new case. I thought my Carbide Spec-03 was plenty big when it arrived (first desktop), but already it's looking small and tightly packed. I'm looking to upgrade this to a 750D. Along with the new case I want new cooling. I'm going to go closed loop, most likely the new H110i GT from Corsair. I do have a Noctua NH-C14 at the moment, but I can only use 1 fan because of my tall RAM. Finally I want a new PSU, and this is the question I'm asking: Should I go for the 760i or 860i? I want to go with the "i" series because I want full Corsair Link compatibility, plus the platinum power certification is also a big selling point for me. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics, although this would be in the future. The 3 points I've mentioned here would be done at the same time (mainly for ease and time saving). The GPU can just be plugged in at a later date, but I am looking at a single GTX 980. I'm unsure on whether I'll get a current one (probably EVGA) or if I'll wait for an 8GB refresh. Currently my CPU and GPU are at stock clocks, but would a 760 be enough to overclock both the CPU and new GTX 980? Or should I go 860? Thanks

Need help trying to decide whether a Zotac GeForce GTX 760 993MHZ 4GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 or a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 OC Wf 1279MHZ 2GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 for editing with Adobe After Effect CS6, Photoshop CS6, and Fruity Loops Studio 11 would be a better choice for faster render time. Will have a Intel Core i5 I5-4460 Haswell 3.2GHZ and 16GB of RAM With a 500W PSU Will I need a larger Power supply for the 760 as well to consider it? Does the faster clock speed help with the 960?

I`ve got a GTX 760 MSI Gaming, is powered up by two 8-pin connectors, and a GTX 760 Asus Direct CU II, which comes with one 8-pin to 2x 6-pin connectors. How should I power them up with my Chieftec CTG-750C?

I am building a gaming PC on a very tight budget and am wondering how these 2 cards compare; 750ti and the 760, in terms of a cost to performance ratio. I will probably go with a Windforce version or FTW edition depending on pricing. The newest games I will be playing would be Lords of the Fallen and Skyrim at 1080p at most. I will most likely be upgrading my graphics card to a 970 before I upgrade my gaming library. As I do not own a PC capable of gaming right now I am looking to build this ASAP. Editor's Note: I will be playing The Sims 3, Dragon Age: Origins, and Skyrim. I will not be doing any rendering or photo editing of any kind, at most I may try some streaming with OBS.

When I try to turn Turboboost it up It works no problem but when I try to OC it with the multiplier just by 100 Mhz from the BIOS It doesn't want to start.. When I try from Windows It freeze 2 second later and BSOD.. Also fan control Never worked.. I had to buy an external controller. And my second problem: My graphics card Is never, Really Never at 100% or even 80%. It's always between 50% and 70%. And I can Feel it in my games ! To explain, I saw bunch of bench with my card and they're always a lot better than what I get with mine (exemple BF4 Normal Graphics : >30FPS).. I have my PC since 2 years and it always been like that. Thanks for reading I hope You can help me.. Full Specs: Mobo: Intel Extreme Board DZ77GA-70K CPU: I5 3570K (Corsair H60/Arctic Silver 5) GPU: ASUS GTX 760 OC Edition DCUII RAM: 16Go 4*4 Corsair Vengence PSU: Corsair GS800 (800W)

Hey there guys, first off this is my first time posting to the forums, so i'm sorry if i put somthing in the wrong hole or whatnot. I'm going to be building my first gaming PC within the month in time for GTA V, but I thought i better get a second opinion on the parts and stuffs before hand. I have around $1,200NZD to spend ($930.22USD) and am hoping to play most games at medium to high at 1080p, or 1600x900, doesn't bother me TOO much, although moar pixles moar fun am I right? So i'll link the pcpartpicker page - http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/P964Jx Also, i'm not sure if i NEED an aftermarket cooler for my CPU? I don't think i can overclock that cpu so would it be necessary? also, I'm looking for advice on the psu and case. Any advice or recommendations welcome. Chears Harry Forgot to mention that i'm in New Zealand, so my options are kind of limited here. My mate owns a hardware store so i'll be paying a tad less than retail.

I have had my GTX 760 for about 8 months, now, and finally decided to overclock it, as I have run out of other things to tweak in my machine. Anyway, I was wondering what speeds others were getting on average, because my curiosity has spiked, and I want to know about how good my specific chip is. So, down to buisness, I would ask, that if you have a 760, and have overclocked, if you could post your: -Voltage -Power Limit -Core Clock -Memory Clock -Card Manufacturer/Model Here, I'll go first: Voltage: 1.2V (Unchanged/Stock) Power Limit: 100 Core Clock: Unigine Benchmark: 1337MHz, GPU-Z:1280MHz Memory Clock: Unigine Benchmark: 3004MHz, GPU-Z: 1502MHz (Kind of confused by the readings on this one) Card Manufacturer/Model: MSi Twin Frozr GTX 760 2GD5/OC Thanks!

Hello, I have a single EVGA 4GB GTX 760. I have already run all the logistics through my head of getting a second, rather than just buying a 970, 980, etc. I just need to know how much power 2 of them will use? I currently have a 750W power supply, I need to know if that will be enough. I have gone to a few power supply calculator websites and input my specs, getting varying results, and I just don't know. My specs are listed below, please help! Processor: -AMD FX-8370 24GB RAM Total: Boot SSD -256GB 840 EVO HDD: -2x3TB Seagate Drives in RAID 0 GPU: -EVGA GTX 760 4GB Mobo: -Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 9 LED Case Fans Power Supply: -750W FirePower Fatal1ty Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had my GTX 760 for about a year now if I'm correct, and recently when browsing Chrome small black boxes with flickering in them started to appear. It was no big deal at first and then it started to take up the entire window, and then everything in windows. I was reading online and someone said it might be from VRAM overheating. I simplay updated the drivers and the problem dissapeared for a long time. But, yesterday the problem appeared again in Chrome. I restared my PC and the problem again dissapeared. Now, I'm wondering if it really could be the VRAM overheating? I'm playing all of my games just fine without any problems. It's just that I'm worried about my card overheating. I have a pretty decent setup and my temperatures never go above 80°C. The highest I've seen it while gaming was around 82°C. My setup: Intel core i7 3770K 3.4GHz (not overclocked) 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM Gainward GTX 760 2GB DDR5

Hey all, So at the moment i've got a GTX 760 just as a starter that i've had for a year, and 2 monitors. I was thinking of upgrading to a GTX 970, but i don't really have the cash at this moment in time without making myself poor for a few months to compensate :L I'm really into my simulators, like racing sims, truck sims, flight sims etc. and I also enjoy FPS games and strategies. I often find it hard to play a flight sim on a single monitor and i desire a 3 monitor surround. Would a GTX 760 (stock) handle a simulator at very high-ultra settings across the 3 monitors, or should I just invest in the GTX 970 and another monitor? Thanks!

Hi guys! I've been a long time fan of linus and lurked quite a bit! I now need some help from the community though! I'm currently sitting on a i5-760 with a MSI p55-cd53 MB, Windows 8.1. I recently purchased an Asus ROG Hero vii and a 4690k plus some new ram. So... I wana swap CPU and motherboard in the least painful way. I saw the guide for swapping MBs without reinstalling windows but I'm not sure if that would apply here. Would the UEFI complicate matters while doing this? I know the best solution is just a clean install, but I have a bunch of engineering software tied and would be a pain to reinstall. I'm decent at troubleshooting so it's not a big deal, but would like to do it quickly I have just an SSD boot drive setup as C:\ like most and the larger programs are kept on external drives. If I have to reinstall is there a quick and cheap way to migrate over? IE: Keep my programs installed on another drive and have windows pointed to them? Would the standard windows backup and restore kept on an external disk be sufficient enough? And a Speccy is attached! Sorry Imgur was down when I made this! Thank you guys! And Happy Holidays

Hello I have been wondering if my pc could handle a gtx 970, currently its running a msi gtx 760 just fine. The thing is my powersupply is vs450 from Corsair. The rest of my pc specs are here: Case: Sharkoon BD28 Blue edition Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P (AMD CrossfireX) CPU: AMD FX-8320 ( 8x 3500 Mhz ) Octocore -its not overclocked and still has the standard cooler RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz 2x 4GB (Crucial Ballistix - Dual Channel GPU: nVidia GTX 760 (MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC - 2048 MB GDDR5) Also not overclocked A 1tb harddisk And a dvd drive I know the gtx 970 needs a 500 watt powersupply but the gtx 760 needs that too but its running fine on my psu and i have heard that the 970 uses a little less power, so i was wondering can i get the gtx 970 to work on my psu? I dont plan on overclocking it or anything Thanks for the help

Right now you can get a 970 video card for around $350, and a 760 for around $180. So should I get the 970, or two 760s in SLI?
-
I am trying to figure out what card I should put in SLI with my EVGA 4GB Dual FTW GTX 760. I know I can get another identical one, but are there any other cheaper ones I should look at? Not really wanting to spend $300 right now.
-
Wasn't sure whether to put this in the Display or Graphics Card forum... I am planning on buying a second 1920 x 1080p monitor soon along with buying a second 2 gb gtx 760 for sli. I was wondering whether 4gb of VRAM is necessary for a dual monitor set up or if I'd be fine with only 2gb. I plan on only using one monitor for gaming and the other just for productivity. Thanks for the help.

I have been in search of a GPU for my rig pretty much ever since I built it (around a month and a half ago), I have managed to narrow my choices down to a few different options. (The following GPUs would be bought used) EVGA GTX 760 Dual SC ACX 2GB Dual Bios ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II 2GB Gigabyte GTX 760 Windforce 3X 2GB Sapphire Radeon R9 280X VAPOR-X 3GB Of the three 760s I am leaning towards either the EVGA or the Gigabyte as the ASUS cooler doesn't quite fit in with a blue and black color scheme. The main usage of the card will be gaming, just a couple of the games that I intend on playing are World of Tanks, Skyrim (Heavily modded), Crysis 2, Crysis 3, Hitman Absolution, and League of Legends. I also mess around in Photoshop, every now and then, and also plan on recording videos (with fraps), then editing & rendering them with Camtasia Studio 8. Which of these four options would give me the best performance compared to the others in these games and applications? (I would prefer to go with one of the 760s but will still consider the 280x as it is roughly the same price as the other options right now)
