1. Intel core i5 2500k 2. OEM Nvidia GTX 770 Whitch one should i buy?

Right - So my 760GTX is starting to show its age, particularly so because I recently got a good deal on a 4K monitor. I'm your typical college student budget kind of person, so a 980 or Titan is a bit out of my reach, so I've looked into the 970 - But with the .5GB ram drama (particularly so because of 4K), I'm not really sure if it is worth the purchase, or if I should wait a while longer for the 980 to drop in price (with the next generation of cards maybe? *shrug*) The rest of my system is as follows. Intel i5 3570K (Not manually overclocked because I'm lazy - I do have the cooling required to do so though) 8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 RAM "Cheapo" low end ATX motherboard from ASUS or MSI (I don't actually recall - I'll check when I get home)

Hey guys! I'm looking into building my own custom loop for my computer, I know that later on I'm going to water cool my graphics card next, but that's later on and i just want to get the basics first, for the top of my corsair 760t it has slots for a 360mm and other slots for a 280mm to be on either side of the case, im not sure if i can get a 420mm rad up top with a bay res since i will plan to have an aditional 280mm rad in the front as well. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever herd of someone useing a 420mm rad in a 760t, i dont want to order some parts and then be stuck with it if it doesn't fit, i do need one of the hhd cages because i only use my 840 evo for boot drive, for now. thanks i appreciate any tips, if you want to suggest some parts that would be awasome too Build so far: i5-4670k 3.4 AsRock z87 extreme4 EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 16gb crucial ballitstics ram 750w EVGA nova 840 evo 1tb WD HDD Shopping List for Loop: Ratstorm XSPC EK-Bay Res D5 Vario EK-ACF 3/8-1/2 3/8-1/2 tube

This may seem like a stupid question so I apologize, but I keep finding conflicting info. My current rig has a single GTX 760 (On an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z with an AMD 8350) It's by EVGA so it has the following ports, DVI D, DVI I, HDMI, Displayport. The specific model for it is the 4 GB superclocked version (Model number: 04G-P4-2768-KR) Really nice card, works well for me. I only have a 19 inch Asus VE198T right now but am hoping to upgrade soon. I'd like to get something with Displayport so I can take advantage of G Sync, but I don't want to be that idiot to assume all Displayport cards will work with it. Some places say it will others don't say anything about it, and technically NVidia did say that anything above a 660 TI Boost would support G Sync. If it does support it then I am sold, and happy to finally get rid of this tiny screen for a 24 inch 1080p monitor, as I'm not set on jumping to 1440 or 4k since I'd like to go 3 way surround and 1080 would be much easier to drive when I eventually upgrade my entire rig and join the winning team (Intel). Thanks in advance, let me know if you need more info.

Whats up ya'll. Nvidia ShadowPlay is AWESOME!! But it whispers in my ear one day and says; "Ummmm, yeah your 4.78 GHz AMD FX CPU doesn't work for me anymore" *giggles evilly* This thing worked fine a couple months ago, but now it dose nothing. I cannot turn it on, it won't do anything. (the big switch) My CPU is bviously supported, and a GTX 760 is as well. What is going on? restarting the service doesn't help either

Hi, Just wondering what would be better to get: A GTX 960 vs GTX 760. Price to performance is important and the ultimate goal I want is a card $140 (I don't mind if the card is used) - $220 that can run games such as: CS:GO, Far Cry 4, Battlefield 4, Minecraft, GTA V on High or Ultra at 1080p with around 60FPS. Do you guys recommend going with the 960 because of all the new features it has that the 760 doesn't have? Or that shouldn't matter and I should just get the 760 because it won't make that much of a difference than the 960 and it'll cost less (Used of course). I just need a card that doesn't cost much. Runs those games at 1080p on high or ultra with a decent 45 - 60FPS. In the future I'll upgrade to a GTX 970 or even 980TI but for now, I need something that can let me play games! TL;DR: Which card is better price to performance. Thanks.

Hey there, I'm currently in the market for a new graphics card, as my GTX550 Ti is pretty outdated by now and is starting to die. I could get an XFX R9 280X and a ASUS Mars 760x2 for about the same price, but I can't decide on which one to get. I'm using a 1080p 60Hz monitor and I mainly use my PC for gaming (CS:GO, GTA V, Payday 2, ...) and some editing/rendering/3D-modelling. I've been on the Internet for at least 6 hours, trying to find the better card, but it's such a hard decision for me. The Mars 760 has overall better performance in games aswell as in Adobe AE/PS/PP, but has a lower framebuffer and because it's a SLI setup, there should be a lot more microstuttering. Reasons for me to go with... ...the R9 280X: - bigger frame buffer (3GB) - stronger single GPU - better looks ...the Mars 760x2: - better performance - CUDA So, which one would you get? I'm not planning on upgrading my monitor for quite some time, so 1080p 60Hz for me it is. Thanks in advance, Saphio PS: Sorry for any mistakes. If you find any, you can keem 'em!

Hi, yesterday I bought a GTX 760 from MSi. It's my first card with GPU Boost, so I have no idea how it works. So I loaded up Witcher 3, looked at the OSD and saw 50-75% power usage. Now, I guess that means the GPU is getting 75% from it's max TDP. Why is that happening and how to fix it? I haven't tried any overclocking yet and the power limit is set to 100% at stock values. Could it be PSU? I only have 450W, which should be enough, I used like 3 different PSU calculators and the peak should be like 405W...

I just got a hand-me down Optiplex 760 and started playing Minecraft. I am now getting into mods and what not, but my computer can't handle them. I dont have a bunch of spare cash laying around and I don't know anything about computers. I have been reading a lot about upgrades but most of it sounds like a foreign language to me. Can anyone give me some ideas that would be compatible with my computer and easy on my wallet? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help and education, Risky. Windows 7 Pro Processor: Intel® Core™2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHZ Installed Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB System Type: 64-bit Operating System Would this be an upgrade that would benefit me? Howdy, I'm looking to buy a graphic card for my new build (already completed). The only missing piece is GPU. Here are the parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/L9xwXL I usually play some casual games such as CS:GO, TF2 and Bioshock Inf. My friend offers to sell me a MSi GTX 770 for around $170. However, I'm concern about heat and power of this card. Should I get this or better with 960 with is comparable but more energy efficient? Update: - How would a R9 285 compare to the two above? I found a local store sells open box Asus Strix R9 285 for $150 - How well AMD work with linux? I'm going to run Windows/Linux for my school project. Nvidia drivers for Linux work well for me in the past. I have no experience with AMD.

Hello, Okay so I've noticed this every now and then. Sometimes when I am playing a game, I noticed my video card is at a lower frequency. When things are fine, its usually at 1245 Mhz and stays there while gaming and my fps are great. I was playing minecraft today and also noticed this with Burnout: Paradise that sometimes the frequency stays low and constantly is going back and forth between about 810 Mhz and 1045 Mhz, it almost looks like thermal throttling but the GPU is only at 45 degrees Celsius. Then I notice the power consumption is only at 36% and the GPU usage is all over the place. What could be causing this? I'm not doing any other intensive tasks while gaming and there is no AV scans going on or anything. I've included a picture of some graphs from msi afterburner; Pay attention to the GPU usage and Core Clock. When this happens it causes low fps and stuttering in game. Specs: OS: Windows 7 CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: GTX 760 Mobo: Asus M5A97 R2.0 RAM: 8 GB

Hello! My GTX EVGA 760 (ACX plain one) is a freaking boss. BUUUUT... On battlefield 4 all high settings, everything super smooth, never below 60 fps. (110 Resolution scale) But whenever I turn on the AA, it just dies. Really only around smoke. It never did this before. Temps are fine, modest OC, and an FX 8350. Why oild it do this? (I have to launch BF4 in 32 bit mode because of crappy EA & DICE logic)

Starting a couple weeks ago I began to have problems with my GTX 760. It is one of the EVGA overclocked ones (can't remember the exact model) and it's been working flawlessly for over a year now. The card (or maybe the driver?) is crashing while playing games or under other heavy loads. It happens once and doesn't happen again until I reboot my computer. Once the computer is rebooted it crashes as soon as it goes under load again. When it crashes, the screen goes completely blank and I can hear the fans on the card stop. Then a second or two later everything comes back to live. After it crashes it recovers and works perfectly fine, even under higher loads then when it crashed. I've checked the temps and they're perfectly normal and I haven't changed any settings in months. I also have the most up to date driver from nVidia. Below is some basic system specs. Any ideas on what is causing this? And let me know if you need more info. So when in some maps (especially 64 players and when flying in helicopters) I get fairly large frame drops. I play at 1080p with almost maximum settings (SSAO, 2x MSAA and post processing on high). I get 70-40fps however the fps drops to 24 in certain areas. When the fps drops it remains for about a second and rises back to normal rate. Is this a sign of a bottleneck? Hey guys, I am building my sister a PC and I am using some old parts from mine to save money. The specs of the new PC will be: AMD Athlon X3 445 Asus M4n68t-m v2 GTX 760 1 HDD No other PCI cards. I used a PSU wattage calculator and it said the minimum power supply recommended it 384 Watts. This is under 430 Watts, so should be ok, but what sort of degradation would I be looking at considering the PSU, CPU and motherboard are all 5 years old almost. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I don't know too much about graphics cards and was looking for some help. I currently have a nvidia gtx 760 2gb card. I was wondering what you guys would recommend doing to support surround gaming. Do I buy the same one and use an SLI bridge, or do I need to get a 4gb card because I know the SLI doesn't combine the memory. I just don't know what the best route is on this problem.

Hello I have recently sent back my GTX 760 Twin Frozr for RMA as I continuously got the 'Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernal, Version .... stopped responding and has recovered' error. I literally tried everything to fix it however that is not the point of this post. If I get the option for a refund, what should I do: Wait for the GTX 960 (Could be limited supply in UK?) Maybe the 970 will bump down in price? Or buy an R9 280x I run at 1920x1080 60Hz Via VGA (VGA/DVI adapter) Any thoughts and feedback welcome. Thanks

As the title says, will the pentium G3258 bottleneck a GTX 760. I kinda think it will, since it's a Dual-Core, but it's the new Devil's Canyon version so im not pretty sure. AND NO IT'S NOT A TROLL
