  1. I have a gtx 760 right now and the reat of my computer is strong and ready for tripple A titles but should i upgrade to the 1080 or wait fir the next one, i want to play with the best setting in most games without studdering, but im not sure when the next gpu "1080 ti" or whatever it will be called ia worth waiting for, and i want to pay around 1000 US dollars for it, i live in sweden thats how much it costs for a 1080 as of right now i use 3 1080 p monitors
  2. So my current GPU (GTX 760) runs the games I play on a daily basis fine. But it can't handle newer games. I'm trying to play the Battlefield 1 open beta but my gpu struggles to get to 30 fps on low settings. I plan on doing an overclock. I used to use the MSI gaming app and use "OC mode" as that would work fine but I'm finding that even that causes the display driver to crash after some time. This means I need to increase Core Voltage (I think?). My first question is, should I only be worried about the GPU temps when increasing voltage and clock speed, or is there more to be worried about with GPUs. My current gpu temps don't go much above 70c right now on full load (It's finally nice outside so I have the windows open in my room to keep it cool, it used to be 79F in my room). As long as I try to keep the GPU temps below ~85c, is it safe to increase the voltage? Current GPU voltage on load is 1.2V and TDP doesn't go above 70%. I'm using FurMark to stress the GPU. A more concerning question. I can't get the user define fan speed on afterburner to work. I have a profile setup and it is enabled but the fans won't spin at the speed I have set according to the temperature. It's going the regular speed set by the card (or bios). At 70c it should be spinning at 85% but instead it spins at 42%. You can see in the picture that it spikes occasionally but other than that it won't work. I've tried restarting the computer and I installed the latest graphics drivers. This is the latest version of afterburner too.
  3. So, I have the opportunity to buy a GTX 760 for around $60, EVGA SC ACX, Should I do that and buy another card to SLI it later? Or Should I spend $150 on a GTX 780 Ordinarily I know that you shouldn't really SLI two less powerful cards to match another better card, but seeing as I am getting the first 760 for a good price, I remain confused.
  4. I upgraded my friends GPU to my used GTX 760. When I turn on the PC it sits on the BIOS splash screen for a couple minutes (usually it only takes a few seconds), then the computer beeps, then goes to a blank screen with only a white dash in the top left corner flashing; at this point the machine becomes unresponsive, and it stays like this for a few minutes and then the PC shuts off. It is an HP desktop computer that he got a while ago; I don't have it with me at the time of writing, so I'm not 100% sure about the specs (my bad), but here is a general idea: Motherboard: Not sure, it came with the PC, but it has HP branding on it CPU: I forgot, sorry, but I know it's Intel OLD GPU: AMD Radeon 5xxx series that came with the PC NEW GPU: Asus GTX 760 Direct CU II OC Ram: 8GB (not sure about brand) PSU : HP branded 450 Watt Here are some notes about the PC: The PSU only had a single 6 pin PCIE power connector, but the 760 requires an 8 pin, so I bought a dual 15 pin SATA to 8 pin adapter (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007Y8FSMQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and used two of the SATA power cables for power, and I left the 6 pin alone. The next time I'm working on his rig, I will test this cable on my PC to make sure the cable isn't broken. I have a suspicion that the PSU may not be strong enough, and I will try my 760 Watt PSU next time. The motherboard has 2 DVI ports on it, but if I attempt to use one of those while the GPU is installed, the machine will not post and start beeping every second or so, but if I remove the graphics card, the on-board DVI ports work just fine. If I plug one screen into the on-board DVI, and the 2nd monitor into the 760, only the screen plugged into the 760 will work, but it still gets stuck at the same place. I tried looking in the BIOS to find the setting to force the system to use the on-board DVI, but I couldn't find any option for that. Here is what I tried for trouble shooting: I un-installed all AMD drivers; that didn't change anything. I attempted to install Nvidia drivers, but it won't let me because it doesn't detect any Nvidia hardware, and I cannot use on-board graphics to do so because of the problem I mentioned earlier. I reset the BIOS by removing the BIOS battery for a few seconds; this didn't change anything. I tried alternating which SATA power plugs I used, but that didn't work. As of now my guesses are either: the PSU is too weak, or the 6-Pin adapter is DOA. Does anyone know what else I can try, or what the problem may be? Thanks, Jared B
  5. Item- GTX 760 OC 4gb OS- Win7 UltX64 Mobo-MSI Xpower II Big Bang Issue- apon restart no display only darkness. can hear the windows load up sound but cant see anything. The story- i was using my computer one night then suddenly my pc crashed (program fked my system) so i tried to do as much as i could which was not much ended up just getting a iso onto a usb for a boot usb and copying my files over to another hard drive... 6. Aight so my 970 came in tuesday, and I installed it that day. Everything went well, although I did hear a loud snap when I plugged in the power, but after inspection nothing happened to the card. I realized that I forgot to delete my drivers before I put in the new card, so I did that. Everything going fine except my PC was taking a long time to boot. Once DDU did its thing, I started to try out a few games. I tried the Division, that ran fine (I didn't change any graphical settings in this game). I tried the skiing game called SNOW, put it on max settings, and it ran beautifully. Then came GTA. It runs like shit now. No matter what settings I'm on, after I leave my apartment in game, bam drops to about 27 fps. Even on the settings I was using for my 760 (which ran at 60fps) dropped to below 30!! Also for some reason the render distance is horrible now, I don't know why. I have no clue, and I've looked everywhere online. I forgot to mention that I did reinstall geforce experience after and got the new drivers. My specs without the GPU https://gyazo.com/927c5f89317f9c106c13be07e3817f0d (I now have 16gb of ram) Temps while in GTA (but alt tabbed out checking the temps) were about 40c. My temps on my cpu are fine, as I have monitored that in the past, and haven't changed anything about it. Any help is much appericiated!!
  7. Hi all, I have a weird problem with my Gainward gtx 760 Phantom. Since 3 weeks I have the problem that I only get 11-15fps max in all my games. the first 2 weeks a simple reboot worked to solve the problem. But now It isn't working anymore. It lt looks like I just need to have luck to see if it works. First before the problem I could play bf4 on high with 70fps, If my card works now it gets 90+ fps. How is this possible? I already installed all the nvidia drivers again, even used a tool to be sure I removed them all. And my other drivers are all up to date. I also checked my temps and they are all steady. Also my gpu is clean of any dust. I used furmark to test my gpu. The times I get 11-14fps in game furmark gets max 11fps. When I get 90+fps furmark always gets 38fps. I used the preconfiged settings of FHD. According to a friend of me my gpu is dead. But I currently don't have the money to replace it because I am saving for a completly new gaming pc with 6700k, 1070 etc. Meanwhile I can still game on my msi ge62 6QD apache pro. I am sorry for anny grammar errors, English isn't my native language. If you need more info please feel free to ask. This are my specs, My cpu is a i7-860, I have 16gb ddr3 ram, an asus P7H55-M mb, currently running windows 10 anniversary edition. Best Regards, Thom
  8. Hi guys..first time in the forum I just recently started looking for used gpus and found a gtx 760 for 100€ which has now come down to 80€… The thing is that the card is out of warranty (obviously since its old)so I'm not super confident with getting it..BTW 80€ is a great price in Greece right now (950 are 150-160 and 2gb 960 are 180) Is there something i should look for when searching for used gpus or anything i could ask the seller?? Thanks 4 reading
  9. So I have this Asus GTX 760 OEM (3gb,192-bit mem bus and lowered clocks) and a pretty ****** cooler due to decreased tdp bc of the lowered clocks etc. so i can have this run at around 1050 MHz at 90-92C. So im wondering would it be worth it to buy a 60€ aio watercooler and ghetto it onto the gpu? It would dramatically decrease my temps etc but how much would it let me overclock because currently i cant increase power limit to over +20% so would it be worth it performance wise? And my second question is that my msi afterburner does not let me overvolt the card at all (slider completely off) even tho normal 760s can go +12mv so could i somehow flash the bios or do any other tricks to enable overvolting if i decide to buy the aio?
  10. When i try to flash my 760 bios with the nvflash -4 -5 -6 BIOS.rom command it just says ERROR: Failed to merge inform image. Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it? EDIT: Completely forgot to mention this problem is probably happening because i did not use the -4 -5 -6 commands. BUT if i do use them the flashing process will not even start and if i dont the first mentioned problem of merging inform images will happen.
  11. Im having a hard time trying to overclock my gtx 760 OEM from Asus, because MSI afterburner does not let me monitor OR control the voltage. On the normal gtx 760s you can overvolt the card +12mV. And i have enabled both controlling and monitoring voltage in msi afterburnes settings but my voltage slider is just gray and does not show anything and i cannot monitor my voltage either in the monitoring tab in afterburner. Any idea how to enable voltage control with software tweaks or a bios flash anyone?
  12. Hello Guys, I'm currently sitting on a Xeon E3 1230 v3 coupled with a EVGA GTX 760 4GB and I've got 2 1080p screens at the moment. I am using my PC only for gaming. So I want to upgrade to a custom GTX 1080/1070 - havent really decided yet, and stock is pretty low right now anyway. In future I'm planning on upgrading to a i5 6600K with a decent Watercooling to have some OC playroom. Furthermore I am going to buy a 1440p@144hz or a 4K@60hz Monitor aswell, depending on the prices and your feedback. There are a few questions that I have about my plans: Will a 1080/1070 bottleneck my 1230 v3? If yes, how bad is it gonna be? Should I even upgrade to a 6600K or wait for AMDs Zen or even the next Generation of Intel? and last but not least, 1440p vs 4K, will it be possible as soon as I have my new setup and can you recommend me a affordable screen that is at least 27"? I'd be very grateful if you could give me your opinions on my plans and also what you would be doing differently. 13. Hi, So im thinking of upgrading to a GTX 1080 but im concerned that I won't have enough power. Im planning to buy a WINDFORCE when it's released (http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5915#kf) and keep my existing WINDFORCE GTX 760 as the 1080 does not have the correct rear i/o for my monitors. I've tried using the onboard intel graphics, but every time I try to install the intel driver for Windows 10 it says my PC does not meet the minimum requirments. I'm running 4690K (of which I plan to OC...), 16GB 1866 GDDR3 and a GTX 760 on an EVGA Supernova 650GQ. Both card's recommended wattages are 500w and I've tried using PSU calculators which have told me that 750w is the recomended wattage for running both simultaneously however I'm told that these arent very reliable. Thanks, Adam.
  14. Hello, im Chris and i have a big problem with my GPU, it does not get recognized in my new system. 1)I switched out my old ASUS mainboard (socket 1156) with the MSI 970 gaming (socket AM3+) Switched out my old Intel i5 for an AMD FX-83350. Everything else is as it was before: 16 GB DDR3 RAM GeForce GTX 760 Jetstream 750W PSU Case Cooler Master HAF X Windows 7 Home 64 bit 2) And here's the problem, the GTX 760 does not get recognized by the system. WHen i open the device manager it says "Standart VGA graphics card. The card sits perfectly in the PCI slot and both 6pin connectors are connected on both sides (PSU and graphics card). After i installed the new CPU and mainboard i did a clean installtion of windows 7 home 64 bit from a USB stick. Please help me with this issue, im 99,9% certein that the GTX 760 works and ist just a software error somewhere. It' worked perfecly the day before and i was very careful while handeling the card. Greetings Chris

  16. question is in title. 2 760 2gb sli 140$ 960 2gb 150$ or 970 4gb? 225$ whats my best bet
  17. Hello all, I have a quick question about Nvidia surround and the 760. I'm trying to get 2 1920 x 1080 panels and a 1600x900 panel to work in nvidia surround, but the topologies menu in Nvidia Control panel won't let me select all three monitors. Is there an issue with the resolutions, because I have seen people run multiple monitors with mismatched resolutions. I'm thinking about SLI'ing them if that may solve the issue. 760s are pretty cheap now a days. And yes, I did read through the SLI sticky, but my question was not explicitly answered. Thanks, Chromalife
  18. Hello everyone! I'm currently an owner of an ASUS GTX 760 OEM 3gb 192bit card. Since The Division came out not a long time ago, I'm still very active in the game. The issue is though, my card run the game at about 25 fps on low-med settings. My question is, is it reasonable (price wise and money wise) to upgrade the 760 to a 970? Or 960 is an option too? And now my biggest question, I have a pre-build desktop from ASUS, that is about 1 year old, and its packaged with a 500w psu of an unknown brand (at least not Corsair or CoolerMaster, Antec, etc...) and it powers the 760 with 2 6 pin pci-e connectors. Is it safe for myself allowing this psu to feed the 960 or 970? BTW, Here's the newegg link to the same exact computer that I own. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220798 Thank you very much! PS: My mainly play CSGO
  19. So I'm trying to sell my Reference GeForce GTX 760, but I'm not sure about what price to make it. I've had it for about a year, bought it new. Lightly overclocked, nothing too serious. Any suggestions?
  20. So I have the Dell's Optiplex 760 Mini Tower and plan on upgrading my PSU. My current setup: 250W stock Dell PSU E8400 processor (I plan to upgrade this to either a modified Xeon E5450 or a c2q, keep that in mind when searching for the PSU) 4GB DDR2 RAM (Might upgrade too) HD7750 1GB GDDR5 If possible, I'd like the PSU to have a 6+2 pin for GPUs, but a single 6-pin should work fine, too.
  21. Hi, My planned specs are in my signature (I already have some of the parts) I have a 4930k (6 core) and I am wanting to overclock it to about 4.4GHz with a Noctua NH-D15 I also have the windforce 780ti and I was wondering if the Corsair AX760 would be enough to power an additional card, both cards would be overclocked to about 1100Mhz I ran this setup through many online PSU calculators and they are saying that I need a PSU that is over 1000w to run 2 GPU's but I was Wondering if the AX760 would do it (or the AX 860) I don't play many demanding games (CS-GO), I am mainly wanting this build for video editing Thanks, Adobez
  22. Near the end of last year my desktop suddenly crashed while playing a game that ran fine for nearly 3 weeks. I also posted this to reddit, link here. Please read that too because the backinfo should be relevant. The suggestion I got was to check the PSU. I was previously using a Corsair CX500M, then bought a SeaSonic platinum series because I thought it would fix the random shutdowns. My PC ran fine using the SeaSonic for less than three months until the end of the year when the problems outlined in the reddit thread appeared. I decided to swap back to the Corsair. No problems for about 26 days until yesterday when the same things manifested - sudden black screen, game audio continued, GPU fans ramping up, keys unresponsive. I had to hold the power button to shutdown. I did not turn it on for the rest of the day. Today I turned it on again. It did not last an hour. This time it blacked out while I was just browsing the web. I am currently using my laptop. What is the problem here? I turn down game settings ever since the first incident. I also do not overclock. Graphics drivers at 361.43. Also, I've monitored my temps using GPUZ & HWinfo. CPU & GPU temps don't surpass 50C so I don't think it's a heating problem. Except for today's crash, the game I played when the crashes occurred was Tales of Zestiria, hardly a demanding game. Its recommended GPU is Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti / AMD Radeon HD 7850 or equivalent. 23. Currently have a Zotac GTX 760. Wondering if i should buy another one for $150 and go SLI or buy a 970 for twice the price. IS it worth blowing $150?????? Considering Future proof, Sli issues/optimization?, power consumption? (i dont know...) CPU: i5-6600k
  24. Hello guys. I just wanted to know can a normal GPU (something like hd5450, hd6570...) fit into this case? I have Dell's OP 760 mini-tower. I watched a lot of tutorials on this topic, and most of them can fit a normal-sized GPU into it, because the mini-tower has something like this: http://i.imgur.com/B9mLTeY.png (which can be opened) thus supporting the GPU's brackets. Note that I'm not looking for a GPU, just wanted to know if it'll fit. I won't put a GT 740 in it or whatever, just a normal sized one. First post too, hi!
  25. Hey guys just wondering if any of you were interested in a trade. I recently created a trouble shooting thread about how to sli a gtx 760 2gb and a 760 4gb. After finding out it wasn't possible I've been looking around for people with gtx 760 2gb so I could trade them my 4gb model. This is a win win situation, I get my sli and you get 2 more gigs of vram. If any of you are interested please leave a reply below. I do not know how old the card is, but it works perfectly. Thanks guys!
