Hello, Currently have a 2560x1440p AOC 75Hz freesync monitor (q3279vwf) and a gtx 1060 3gb. Main question is, (even though its probably asked million times, i just cant understand the posts) can i make use of the 75hz while using a nvidia GPU ? its my understanding that HDMI cant post pass 60hz, and Displayport can, and i have that cable, so will it work? Kind of a weird Choice, since i cant downscale to 1080p without image issues, and ive read the 75hz is doable, but it creates frame skipping? so all in all this is one hell of a funny monitor as its just negative after negative compatibillity With nvidia and specifically 1060 3gb, which cant handle 1440p that well, but im going to probably mainly only game overwatch or other Esport games, and the gpu seems to handle 1440p alright on Esport titles. I have other 1080 60hz monitors just laying around, but i wanted to make use of this 75hz 1440p one, if thats possible since i already have it. would be interesting trying 75hz for the first time. thanks for replies in advance

I’m Looking for the best 27 Inch gaming monitor I can get that’s cheap and yet can handle demanding games and provide visually appeasing content I’m after either 75Hz or 144Hz at either 1080p resolution or 2k don’t wang to have to deal with motion blurr problems and would prefer it to have both hdmi and display ports available, and I’m looking to get reliability for it’s cost (around $400 nzd as i’m looking to purchase a dual monitor setup) any reccomendations on monitors to buy would be highly appreciated (I’m not interested In paying premium for branding, I just want quality)

Hello, i have recently bought an IPS 60hz monitor with an advertised response time of 6ms, but i don't find it very smooth and playing games feels like 40-50 fps. I am sure this is because of the response time. This is why i have decided to get a gaming monitor with 1ms response time and 75hz refresh rate ideally (144hz is too expensive). I live in Albania and we don't have any international retailers here. So i will just list what i can find on local stores and need your help choose the better one for gaming. Thanks in advance! Here we go: Asus VP247H (227$) Iiyama G-Master GE2488HS (233$) Asus VX248H (240$) Iiyama ProLite B2480HS (260$) BenQ Zowie RL2455 (280$) Asus VG245H (360$ lol?)

I found one good 1440p IPS monitor that I want to use for my setup. Its refresh rate is 75Hz, so my question is the following: If I bring its resolution down to 1080p for when I'm playing games, will I be able to increase the RR, or will it still be stuck at 75Hz? I have an RX 580 and I don't mind playing in a slightly decreased resolution in exchange for more frames per second, but I still want to have a 1440p option solely for video content and editing.

I currently have an Asus 75Hz montor (overclocked) it's an ips 24inch and looks beautiful @1440p . I'm thinking of selling it and getting XL2411Z 144hz 24 inch tn Panel by benq . My graphics card is a 1080ti and processor is i7 6700K 4.4Ghz . what do you guys think ? Is it worth moving from ips 1440p 75hz to TN 144hz 1080p? I wanna hear your opinions .

Hi guys, why are there so few IPS monitors at 75Hz with a standard resolution? I want to upgrade from my 5:4 monitor to a 16:9 but I don't want to come back to the 60Hz game because I feel the the 75fps vsync (I've got a GTX 1060) looks way better than 2k/4k at lower refresh rates IMO. The only 2 good monitor I found out on PCpartpicker (Amazon italy) are either un-compatibile (the LG doesn't have the mouting plate, little to no adjustments from what I'm reading. and the NEC has people complaining it's not a gaming display with higher response time) I've been playing COD and other fast paced FPS on my NEC 1880SX (1280x1024 5:4 33ms!) without noticeable problems so far so I don't think the difference between 1 or 5-6ms will be noticeable anyway. but I prefer the colors of the IPS. Do you have any good model with such specs I can look into? or maybe you say I move to something "better" with more products like a 100-144hz? (that I doubt I will ever reach on any modern game so it will be a waste of money and power IMO...) also "weird" resolutions like 1440p, 21:9 and so on aren't preferable since A LOT of AAA titles or smaller games doesn't support anything different that 1080 nowadays. and I've been struggling with playing borderless windows for years on a 5:4 aside from few good games that had better Video scalability the budget is around 200-300€ as everything more than 300€ is 1440p or higher specs.

So i'm still planning on my build and now i am looking for a monitor. I found an AOC, lcd fhd, 1ms response time (though I seem to understand this doesn't count much), 75 Hz and freesync. It costs 10€ more than a samsung led with fhd, 1ms response and 60 hz, no freesync. Based on the specs alone, I would go for the AOC, I just don't know if I trust them since I never heard anyone using their monitors. Can you experience help me out?

I bought a LG 25UM58-P few months ago and was using it with my laptop(Lenovo Y-500). I was getting constant 75hz and am still getting it via laptop. But when I connected it to my new PC few days ago I can't seem to get more than 60hz with HDMI. My new build has 8700k, Asus Z370-E, no graphics card yet(should get it by the end of the week) and haven't activated windows 10(waiting the key). I tried installing drivers from LG's site but installation fails when try to install it.

Which would be the better option: A 60Hz 4K monitor (AOC U2790VQ), or a 75Hz 1440p monitor (ASUS MX25AQ)? From what I can see the other specifications are relatively similar. Is the difference in resolution or the difference in refresh rate more noticeable? I enjoy to game and will also be using the display for design related work. The rest of the time I will use it to watch youtube and look at memes.

Hey. I heard mention of a 21:9 75hz freesync monitor a while ago, and have been searching the internet since, and to no avail. Im looking for a 21:9 29" monitor with 75hzs, freesync, and preferrably a vesa mount. If anyone knows of such a beast, please tell me about it!

I have an LG 20M37D 19.5" TN Panel, which is specified to run at max. 60Hz, at 1600x900 (max resolution), while it can support 1280x720 at 75Hz. I am effectively pushing 75Hz at 1600x900, using Intel HD Graphics Control Panel's "Custom Resolutions" Menu, and I'd like to know whether there are any long-term damages, or deterioration to the monitor, or my iGPU? Thanks guys!

ok i have a philips 273v5 that i freaking LOVE 27" of 1080p, great color and 5ms(IIRC) response time, its at 60fps and i want to OC it to 75+ if it can hande it so whats the best way to do so, it cant do it on its own as far as i have seen but i know there are programs that can let you overclock it through them so witch is the "best" and how do i use it? i have seen people getting 120hz out of there monitors so i would love to see what this one can do!

I have two requirments for monitors, which is it has to be at least 1440p, and it has to be 75Hz (Or greater), OR have the ability to be overclocked to 75Hz. My initial price cap is approximately $300, US. I would like to know what you recommend. My use for the monitor would include Programming and related productivity, and gaming. Thanks.

I am wondering what is better 1600 x 900 @ 60Hz aspect ratio 16:9 or 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz aspect ratio 5:4? I am thinking of using an MSI Radeon R7 260X OC 2GB graphics card.

I plan on overclocking CPU/GPU Buying this all from Microcenter on Friday Please list any recommendations. I do plan on staying with the 5820k since the price is not that much different from lower level processors right now. I know it's a little much for gaming, but thats alright with me. CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($369.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($104.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH X99 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($299.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2800 Memory ($119.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($171.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card ($669.99 @ Amazon) Case: Fractal Design Define S w/Window ATX Mid Tower Case ($80.10 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($89.89 @ OutletPC) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Purple 66.4 CFM 140mm Fan ($14.99 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Purple 66.4 CFM 140mm Fan ($14.99 @ Amazon) Keyboard: Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle Wired Gaming Keyboard w/Optical Mouse ($24.99 @ Micro Center) Total: $2061.79 I am looking for any feedback on this build and any recommendations for a monitor? I have not been gaming for over 6 months, I just want a monitor that I can game on for pure pleasure, so no competitive needs at all. This has me leaning away from the typical - ROG Swift FTW fanboy opinions, please keep an open mind. I simply can not choose which monitor for this build. I just want something to maximize gaming experience. I am torn. These are my thoughts. 4k, 75hz, g synch, and IPS (xb271hk): coming out next month, this looks amazing to me. Unfortunately, yes I am aware, that this build will only push around 45hz with only one GPU, BUT is this monitor worth the investment if I plan on upgrading my GPU every year? 1440p Ultrawide, G-Sync, 100hz (x34 predator): looks great, but is wow is that expensive, so is it worth it? I feel like 27" 16:9 is already big enough for an immersive experience, not sure if ultra wide is worth the $600 premium, so I am looking for some feedback... 1440p, G-Sync, 144hz, IPS (Acer XB270HU): seems to be the sweet spot for this current build, but I don't want to upgrade my monitor every year like I plan to with my GPU, so Im thinking I shouldn't settle for this kind of monitor unless I plan to upgrade the monitor next year when I upgrade my gpu...

So i got this one monitor that at the time of purchase i believed that it would work at 1080p and 75hz as advertised, false. Yes the monitor supports 1080p. Yes it could run 75Hz. But the problem is that it doesnt run 75hz at 1920x1080, instead it only runs at 75Hz when its at 1280x1024, yet the native ratio for the panel is 16x9. Why is it like that? Is there anyway to make 75hz run on 1080? (this monitor is something i got off Ebay for a good price at the time.)

If I buy 75hz monitor will there be a setting that I can choose in game to set it on 75hz. or i can only set it on 60hz please I need help. And also I'm interested does 144hz make that big of a differenece? and will I be able to get 144hz pleasure if my system won't be able to go over 100fps.

Hi, I'm in the market for a gaming laptop (WAIT, don't tell me a custom PC is better because I already have one but I would like something to use on the go) I have a budget of about £2000 and it needs to be sold from a vendor in the UK. (Don't want it shipped overseas) I need it to have GSYNC with a minimum max refresh rate of 75hz. Display must be 14"-17" It must also have a 980m. Preferably I would like it to look the part! (I don't want a thick piece of plastic!) Ideas?

Hey all, I currently own a syncmaster 940BW and looking to upgrade toward a 4k Monitor. which is 75hz and not feeling like downgrading to 60 hz especially since I got used to 75hz. Kept my eyes on Linus' ASUS RoG Swift PG278Q review, however he said that the colors were not the best. I am also going to buy a new PC next year (7-9 months from now) with the best specs on the market, so my questions are: Is there any improvement/technology coming up in the monitor market that is worth the wait? will the prices of the the current 4k monitors (avg 900$) go down. --> If so by how much? (rate) Should I buy something on black Friday or during Christmas time so the prices are down? Any suggestions on this matter? Thanks guys, really appreciate it

I want to buy a GSYNC laptop which has a 75hz refresh rate. On my main PC I'm currently connected to a 120hz monitor which feels great. I have tried playing at 60hz but after playing so much at 120hz, 60hz just feels awful. I was wondering how much a step down 75hz would be from 120hz. When I'm switching between 120hz and 75hz I am hoping it wouldn't be too different. Is it ? I heard Linus say that the difference between 60hz and 75hz is light and day whereas 75hz and 120hz was less significant.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tCNDyc Thought i share this. Not gonna experience tearing and stutters again while gaming due to a working freesync loop. And that widescreen IPS monitor with its 75hz is beyond godly. Yes its a 75hz IPS actually, not 60hz. I believe gaming on this will be much better than having a better system and gaming on a small 60hz TN screen. And here`s some proof that the CPU will be just as good as your expensive i7`s for gaming. If its just a little bit overclocked. (That mobo is an overclocker with a bios update) http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/pentium_20th_anniversary_series_g3258_processor_review,14.html edit: I know, even overclocked its 10% slower in fps than a quadcore. At least thats what i saw in linus GTA5 cpu tests. Tho i dont think thats a reason to spend more on a cpu. Games using more than 2 cores are still very few out there. And this is a build to enjoy the majority of the games out there while staying @ 1k, and not to blindly push fps for the sake of numbers and never enjoy anything under the sea of artifacts and barely seeing the screen.
