  1. Hey Everyone, I have bought a Corsair 750D case. The case has everything I need.......but i know the intake from what i read is somewhat bad. That is why I bought 2 Corsair SP120 high performance fans in the hopes that I would put replace the stock intake fans on the case with the SP120s. That being said, are SP120s good for intake on the corsair 750D? and Also what else could I do to improve airflow in the 750D. I also thought about buying 2 more AF120 fans and mounting them at the bottom of the case to have 4 intake fans. I am planning on putting 2 Corsaid AF120s at the top. Is there any suggestions on whether i should use other fans for intake and if so where would i place the SP120s?
  2. I'm getting a 750D For my new rig, And wanted to know if it could fit a h100i in it.
  3. Hey guys, just a quick question. Will this motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128583) Fit in this case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139024) ? My current case is the NZXT Phantom 410, but I don't really like the look of it on the outside. On the inside, it is probably the best out there, but I have decided I will be upgrading to the Corsair Obsidian 750D. The 750D says that it is a full tower, but the measurements are very similar to the Phantom 410, which is why I am asking if my motherboard will fit in this new case, as measurements and compatibility is not my strong-suit. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello everyone! I am planning to build a gaming PC for circa 1900 CAD (including the OS, not peripherals). I live in Sweden but I will be ordering my parts from NCIX since it's cheaper, but if anyone knows of a cheaper store in Sweden please let me know. As I've said this will be a gaming PC, so I'll be playing any modern titles but mostly FPS games such as BF4 and Arma 3. This is what I've come up with so far, but I would love to hear any suggestions on what I can improve from you guys! (please don't go over budget) CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K CPU cooler: H100i Mobo: Gigabyte UD4H RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 1866 1600 (2x4GB) GPU: Asus R9 280X Case: Corsair 750D PSU: Corsair 760i Storage: WD Caviar Black 500GB (will be used for game storage) 2x WD Green 1TB (general storage in RAID 1) Samsung 840 evo 120GB 240GB (OS ) Extras: 2x Bitfenix Alchemy LED strip- white 2x Corsair SP120 fans OS: Windows 8.1 Peripherals: Mouse: Deathadder (already own) Monitor: Haven't decided yet. Keyboard: Will purchase when I have the money.
  5. I am going to be building my computer soon, (First one) and have always been interested in mini-Itx builds. The just seemed so cool how so much could fit in such little cases. I have picked out two sets of parts that are very similar, with the only difference being form factor. My question here is: if I go with a mini-Itx build, will I regret it in the long run? Parts list: Case: Corsair 750D or Bitfenix Prodigy Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Hero or Maximus VI Impact CPU: i7 4770k GPU: EVGA GTX 780 (Don't think its worth it to get 780ti, but I will have to see the benchmarks) Storage: WD Black 2TB + Samsung 840 Pro 256GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866Mhz (2x8GB) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 PSU: Corsair AX760 Case Fans: If mini-Itx, 3xAF120's. If ATX, 5xAF140's vein. Controlled by NZXT Sentry 2 Any advice welcome and greatly appreciated.
  6. So I have been searching for a full-tower case for my PC, within my $250 budget. If I had the money I would go for the 900D, or the SilverStone TJ-07, however I simply don't. I have been looking into the 750D and HAF-X cases. They seem to fit my needs, but I am still unsure. What I would like to know is, do you have a personal recommendation for me to look into (within my budget)? This is just a casual post to see your ideas as to what you think I should do. I don't use water cooling so that doesn't need to be taken into consideration. Looking for a case with great air-flow I use a standard ATX motherboard. Looks aren't a necessity, but rather a bonus.
  7. Hi guyz! I'm planning to build myself a new fully water cooled (custom, of course) rig wich will sit in a Corsair 750D. I'll be using a 360mm radiator at the top with a pull configuration of Noctua's NF-P12 silent fans. My only concern is that I wish to use an XSPC dual 5.25" bay reservoir and I don't know if the radiator will be slim enough with the fans on it to clear the two 5.25" bays i'll need. Here are some dimensions for you guyz, lowest number is always the thickness of the product, derp! Rad: XSPC EX360 121 x 395 x 35.5mm Fans: Noctua NF-P12 120 x 120 x 25mm Thanks upfront. If someone own this case but do not have water cooling mounted it, i'd really apreciate if you could get a mesuring tape and check that out for me! All answers will be welcome! Oh btw, Hi guyz i'm new in here but i've been following Linus on youtube for over a year now! Best regards, Gabriel Radiator Link: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=74413&vpn=5060175582621&manufacture=XSPC%20Asia%20Co.%20Ltd.&promoid=1198 fans: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=64541&vpn=NF-P12%20PWM&manufacture=Noctua Case: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=90220&vpn=CC-9011035-WW&manufacture=Corsair
  8. So recently go the okay from the wife to upgrade my pc case. I cant decide on what case i should be get. I have about a $200 budget but if i get something cheaper i cant get the individually sleeved cable extensions mainly cause I'm too lazy and scared to make my own and they are about $30. That being said i lake a clean look and will be using a corsair h100i so it need to support that i have a blue themed build must have window to show the "bling". My personal thoughts are the corsai AIR540,, Vengeance c70, 750D or the Fractal define R4 white with window. the pc resides in the living room. would like quite and good dust prevention. Thanks
  9. Phanteks Enthoo Primo - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25558 Corair 750D - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_961&products_id=25189 Just looking to get other peoples opinions and some pros vs cons. Personally i think the Primo has way more useful features and would be a better option not even being more expensive really since you get 5 (high quality from what ive heard) fans valued at over $20 each. but let me know what you guys think. Interested in what other people think.
  10. hello, The walls of my room are orange and black.( 2 are orange and 2 are black) i really would like to build this system but i need to know if the fans are around the same colour. i dont want fans that are more red than orange. and i would like to know what you think about my system. and is there to much orange in this build? 11. Hi, I'm going to upgrade my computer soon (ish). I've found my Case, Graphics card and Power Supply. I just would love a little bit of help finding a nice motherboard. I've looked around but I really don't have a clue what i'm doing where that is concerned. I'm comfortable spending up to 100 euro ($140 USD approx.) Just another question, I'm going to move my RAM from my current comp (8GB) to this new motherboard (which shouldn't be any hassle) but I'm not sure if I can move my CPU, am I able to do that (Intel 2nd gen)? Thanks for your help, Chris
  12. This might be a hard question to answer... I currently have the Corsair Obsidian 750D case and I also have Corsair H100i installed. Right now, I have a push configuration going, but I just found a pair of 120mm fans laying around so I was just wondering if this case can fit a push pull configuration. I dry fitted the fans (which are both 25mm wide) and they appeared to have a very snug fit, but I don't want to have the screws that screwed into the fans touch the motherboard, or the piece of metal where the motherboard is mounted, and cause a short (?). I am not home right now, but I don't know if it would be safe to do this or not. I am really cautious when it comes to this stuff. The screws do not seem to line up with the back of the motherboard, or the PCB of the motherboard at all, but there is this small heatsink in the corner of the motherboard that I would rather not apply pressure to. Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi! Since I do some media work, I'd like a way to read discs and cards. Doing this, however, takes up two of the three 5.25" bays on my Corsair 750D, which does not look the greatest when such bays are used up. Some have used this product to do exactly as mentioned, putting both a disc and card reader into one 5.25" bay. However it looks like it is unavailable for purchase. I was wondering if there was any other product similar to this? Also, I was wondering if it would be possible to stealth this somehow. With a normal 5.25" bay, I could just take the aluminum off the cover and stick it to the drive bay (like this), however doing this would prevent me from using the SD card slots. Is it possible to make a door out of the bay cover instead (like the 900D's front I/O cover or like the XFX Type 1 Bravo)? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  14. I'm looking for Corsair's fans for my Corsair 750D. Should I go airflow or static pressure? Quiet edition or high performance edition? I will use the same types for both 140mm and 120mm. I am thinking of the AF Quiet Editions.
  15. New PC Builder, Tips and/or Tricks Appreciated Hello everybody, I will be building a new "overkill" PC over the next couple of days, and am getting a little bit nervous about the build. I am almost certain that I have ordered all the relevant parts, and that they are all compatible, but any advice offered by you all, my peers, would be much appreciated. Keep in mind that all components have already been ordered, and will arrive by the 9th of July. I really am not looking for part advice so much as help on the use of the particular components I will be using. As a preface, I have always been a big techie, and pride myself on a great understanding of the components and individual pieces that go into my computer. However, I have always been a heavy Mac user, and I still believe that the UI and ease of use that the Apple platform provides is superior to Windows (feel free to rage if I'm wrong below!). Despite this, three main factors have made me very strongly consider the Windows platform, the first being the additional support for applications and games that a PC provides. I've been playing many more computer games lately, and playing on a Mac has both very much restricted my FPS, as well as having far fewer games to play. The second reason would be that building a PC is just plain cool, and offers an increased level of customizability and personalization. Finally, I simply can afford it. I'm currently not old enough to go and get a job beyond perhaps mowing lawns or walking someone's dogs, and my dad has very graciously decided to foot the bill on this very expensive computer for my birthday, provided I do some chores around the house for a LONG time. Because of my situation, it should be understood that one of the greatest concerns in picking components for this computer was "future proofing," if that terrible, terrible phrase can ever be uttered, and parts in this build have been chosen to reflect that. Please feel free to critique any components that I have chosen, but understand that all decisions are final and cannot be changed. Case- Obsidian 750d: Decent upgradability, solid space for radiators, and eATX support in a relatively small yet sturdy package made the case a natural choice. It doesn't hurt that it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever laid eyes on. Motherboard- Asus Rampage Black Edition: chosen because of the great build quality, as well as compatibility with the LGA 2011 platform. I have always regarded Asus products very highly, and this seems to be a somewhat reasonably priced (though still VERY expensive) option from them. It also matches the aesthetics of my build. Also, it makes you breakfast. CPU- Intel i7 4930K: chosen because I am considering a Quadfire or dual GPU + single GPU Crossfire setup in the future. In addition, the LGA 2011 socket is ideal for my preferences, and my current setup is a simulated 8 core/ quad core i7 setup, running at 2.2 GHz/ 4.4 GHz respectively. The 4930K offers a good enough balance of a solid upgrade and great performance and upgradability to suit my needs. CPU Cooler- Corsair H100i: while other companies offer better functioning options, the Corsair model seems to have very few units that leak, and comes with the best warranty that I can find. The led lighting on the cooling unit itself looks relatively nice as well. Memory/RAM- Dominator Platinum 32GB 4x8 1866 MHz: I chose to opt for the 32 GB rather than the 16 GB route, because I know that I will eventually want that amount of ram, and purchasing it all together offered me dual benefits of a marginally lower price, as well as a guarantee that all four of my ram sticks will function optimally together. The aesthetics of the particular sticks that I chose are also great. I went 1866 because that is the highest speed that Intel supports with its Ivy Bridge-E cards natively, and I didn't want to risk any issues at any point in this build. Usually, 1333 MHz ram works for me just fine, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt to try a slightly higher clock speed. Storage- Samsung EVO SSD 500GB: This is enough for my needs currently, and after watching Linus' rave review of it recently, I decided to opt for it as my only memory source. If any of you could recommend any 2 TB hard drives that perform well at a reasonable price, and would match the color scheme of my build, (red/black) I would very much appreciate that as well. PSU: EVGA Supernova P2 1000 Watt: I require about 750-800 watts for my system, and a 200w pad seems like a natural step, considering that I am considering overclocking in the future. This is the best platinum power supply that I have found in this price range, and though its brother, the G2, also delivers platinum performance (I checked on 80Plus's website), the fan control on the P2 made it the natural option for me. I prefer a quiet system to a marginally higher performance one, and all the parts in this build have been chosen to reflect that. Also, this is, in my opinion, the best looking power supply on the market. OS- Windows 8.1, LG Electronics 8x USB 2.0 drive to install: While I'm not a fan of the 8.1 UI, I understand that it will give me the optimal performance for my rig, and any drawbacks that may come with not upgrading to windows 8.1 now will certainly bite me in the rear end later. I also bought a cheap external drive to install Windows. GPU- AMD Radeon R9 295 X2: This is one of the primary reasons I am even building this computer. I have, despite having never built a PC, always preferred the idea of a single graphics cards as opposed to two. Really, when positive pressure and stable temperatures are a concern in a (relatively, of course) small case, a single graphics card, at least in my mind, will always rein supreme. I could be wrong, but from most tests that I have seen, this card has beaten even the most highly overclocked reference 780ti's, and though price to performance may be lower than most other cards, in my mind AMD have always delivered better, more stable units than Nvidia. The AMD graphics in my current computer also perform very well, considering that they are integrated into the computing unit. When I saw this card an article in a PC magazine that I don't remember the name of, I knew that it was the best time to build my own computer. I might consider running these Quadfire if more money comes my way, and if I consider upgrading to a 4k multi-monitor setup, which I will do over the next few years. A Word on Fans- I will be swapping out all stock fans that come with my case, as well as my radiator. I will be replacing them with: 2x AF140 Red LED fans for front intake 5x CM Jetflo 120 Red LED for radiator components on the H100i, as well as the GPU 2x AF120 Red LED fans for bottom exhaust As per Linus' recommendations, two Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips in red will be going into the top and bottom of the case. This concludes the components section of this post, further peripherals are listed below. I will be using a Razer Blackwidow LED free keyboard with the quieter orange switches until the Corsair RGB keyboard comes out, at which point I will give Corsair ALL OF MY MONEY for that glorious, glorious k95 goodness. I will also be using a Mionix Naos 8200 monitor on a Propus mouse pad with my system. I currently use an ASUS MX279h Monitor for my PS4, and will be using that with my new PC. I feel like the 1080p 60Hz resolution will bottleneck this beast of a rig (which I will be building the day after tomorrow, BTW), so I'll upgrade as soon as possible. I am considering either a three monitor 1080p, or a single or dual WQHD monitor setup. Currently, the desk that I use has a single raised platform to fit a single monitor, so I might have to buy one of those telescoping arms (which is not compatible with my VESA-less MX279h) for a three monitor setup. Advice on any particular monitors to buy would be much appreciated. Thank you for making it all the way through my overly complicated and awfully long pre-'build log' log. Any input would be very much appreciated. Any advice, or answers to questions or concerns that I have posed would be great! I will definitely be adding build photos when complete, and I might even (probably) consider posting some sort of horribly made newbie build log. Pictures of this build will definitely be going up in the relevant section. From what I've gleaned from my short time on this forum, users are very informative and helpful to one another, and I thank you for reading and helping me out with my very first PC build. Have a wonderful day. Kudos!
  16. So, I need a new case, And can't decide which to pick, I heard both really good things about the Corsair Obsidian 750D and NZXT Phantom, But what i wan't to know is, Which one is the best for a custom water loop and can fit the most/bigger radiators in. Also which of the 2 has the best airflow. And if there is another case that also around 130 Euro's, That will do all the above better and that can fit these parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ymJkHx Edit: Forget the Corsair H80i in the PCPartPicker build, i am going for a custom loop. Edit 2: Fixed the link.
  17. I've just built a new computer in the Define R4. I love it, but now afterwards I have noticed that it doesn't support much in terms of radiators or watercooling. Well actually I knew, but i wasen't interrested in that, but I am now . So I'm now about to build a computer for my friend and I got the idea to sell my R4 and buy a bigger, more watercooling friendly case. And I have two options, either the 760T or the 750D. I know that they both support 360mm in the top and 280mm in the front. The only difference is that the 750D supports 240mm in the bottom, but I'm gonna be using harddrives so that's not really an option. If you guys know any big differences between the two, please PLEASE, let me know! Thanks!
  18. I really like the size/look/practicality of the Corsair Obsidian 750D (windowed). I'm looking forward to building a new system into it. I'm looking for advice from people who own or have owned the 750D. Do you like it? Hate it? Here's a list of my parts that will be going in, along with future plans. I won't go into too much detail because it's just there to give you an idea of how much space will be used: Full-ATX motherboard Custom-loop cooling for CPU and single GPU 1 x 140mm rad (front) & 1 x 280mm rad (top) 2 x 3.5" HDDs (maybe another one in the future as well) 1 x SSD Dedicated sound card Whether you totally love it or hate it, or just a fence-sitter, I'd love to hear your thoughts! PLEASE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED THE CASE PERSONALLY.
