The options are: Asrock Phantom Gaming OC XFX Speedster Merc319 Black Sapphire Gaming OC Nitro+ These three cards are the cheapest RX 6950XT in our market. The prices include VAT. All three should have a good design and decent voltage regulation. And very similar cooling. The Asrock one is about ~40€ cheaper than the other two. That's 5% of the price. And it has 3 8-pin PCI-E power headers. The Merc319 XFX looks the best (in my opinion) and it has quick-release (easily swappable) fans. 2 8-pin power headers. The Sapphire Nitro also has quick-release fans and it would be my 4th Sapphire card. All Sapphire cards I had were decent, I did not have any major issues (except the fan issue of the 5700XT). It has 2 8-pin and a 6-pin. Potentially the best cooling design of those (separate plate for memory cooling for example). All of them offer a 3-year warranty. None is a bad choice. Marginal performance differences. My main system is here in the signature (Ryzen 5900X, Seasonic 850W Platinum PX, 1440p).

I have an RX 6950xt, the power color red devil edition. The difference in my edge and hotspot temps are above 30 degrees C. To help with that I was thinking about switching from the stock tim to carbonaut. I'm ok with the potentially worse edge temp if my hotspot goes down. So for example even if my edge temp goes up 10 degrees of my hotspot drops 15 I'll be cool with it. My question here is: Is it with it to try carbonaut or should I just go straight to something like kryonaut or other high end thermal paste. Almost forgot that I briefly (like a week) had 6900xt red devil that I did replace the paste on but it didn't really work

Good evening, folks. I'm putting together a 5800X3D/RX6950 XT build (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zbL8sL) and am looking for opinions, recommendations, and critiques. Budget is around $2,000 USD and I'm located in the United States. Willing to go $100-200 more if it means a fairly significant performance uplift, but I'm mainly looking for price-to-performance efficiency. I have dual 1440p 144Hz monitors and won't need peripherals or an OS. I'm upgrading because I built my current system in January of 2015. It's an Intel i7-5820k/EVGA GTX 970 build that has served me well over the years, but I figured now would be a good time to upgrade so I can get better performance in games (currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 on medium settings at around 35fps). It's going to be used for 1440p gaming with a combination of single player games (Cyberpunk 2077, The Callisto Protocol, Dead Island 2) and multi-player games (Call of Duty Warzone 2, Escape from Tarkov). I like to stream games occasionally as well (I know NVIDIA NVENC is preferred for that, but I'm going Radeon in an effort to support their competition in the GPU space and fight against NVIDIA's business practices). I also do some light 3D editing/modeling (FreeCAD design for 3D printing type stuff). I picked up the 5800X3D and Radeon RX6950 XT as a combo deal from AMD for $1,028 USD before taxes. I'm curious to hear if you all think that was a good price or if the money would have been better spent on different hardware. For motherboard, I'm still debating on X570 vs B550. I currently have the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PRO WIFI II selected as I like the features it offers along with the fact that it doesn't have a chipset fan (one less thing to fail). I'm open to considering B550 so I'd like to hear opinions/recommendations on that. For memory, I read that memory timing doesn't really affect the 5800X3D. Assuming I keep with a DDR4-3600 CL16 kit, does the brand matter? Would it be worth going for a DDR4-4000 kit? I'm also interested in hearing opinions regarding 32GB vs 64GB of memory for my use case. For the boot drive, I went with a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro. Figured 1TB is plenty to hold my OS and applications. Is that overkill or is the DRAM cache and Samsung name worth the premium price? I also already have a 1TB WD Black SN750 I'm going to reuse as a game storage drive. For the power supply, I'm going to reuse my trusty EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2, 80+ PLATINUM that I purchased back in 2015. It's been going strong in my i7-5820k/GTX 970 build so I figured I would let it live on in the new machine. For the CPU cooler, I originally wanted to go with a Noctua NH-D15, but their compatibility tool reports that "Front fan overhangs RAM slots. If there is sufficient space inside the case, the front fan can be installed in a higher position to clear the RAM modules (see linked FAQ)." That's making me think that a 240mm or 360mm AIO might be a better option. Thoughts/recommendations for that? Would the NH-D15 be sufficient for the 5800X3D or should I go with an AIO for better cooling and less compatibility issues? For the case, I'm open to suggestions for a mid or full tower. My only real considerations for a case are a good balance between airflow and dust prevention. I welcome any and all thoughts, comments, suggestions, or concerns. Hey guyz.. i have two options right now.. r9 270x or a hd 6950 and i have a very low budget too around 75$ r9 270x is for 75$ hd 6950 is for 60$ the cheaper will be the best.. tell me are they same or r9 270x is better and i don't about the driver support just tell me the gaming performance for these two cards

Hi there. My pc is a Dell Optiplex 780 Core2Duo E7200 8gb ram MSI R6950 Twin Froze iii PE Corsair vx550w psu i recently put a msi R6950 Twin FROZR III in my pc. I was making a pc on a budget to upgrade and i decided this was a good start point. When i got the card i installed it into my pc and games ran okay. i then decided to overclock the GPU so that i could get better fps. I increased the overclock incrementally and it seemed to be okay but then when loading a game the system crashed and the game was on a black screen. I reset the card to factory defaults and the games still crashed to a black screen. Even MSI KOMBUSTOR loads to the same black screen and crashes the system. Has anybody had this problem before and How can i fix this? Thanks

There was no real reason for me to do it, but despite this, I decided to buy a PowerColor Radeon HD 6950. Why? Because it was $23. That's right. A stupendously awesome deal. He was also selling a GTX 660Ti for like $55. That didn't make much sense, as this card is better than that, barring the ShadowPlay support. Nonetheless, I now have four graphics cards better than my mum's GTX 750 1GB. My 860M 2GB, My 6950, my R9 390, and my GTX 1080. I'll post on Reddit, too. I just wanted to boast.

Right now I got a HD6950 2GB and I can get a used GTX660 2GB from a friend, would it be better then the HD6950 (The 660 would be better for video rendering right?)

I've been running a 6950 for a couple years now and I'm really noticing lagging behind in some games. The main 2 cards I'm looking at are the GTX770 and 780; I wouldn't be able to afford a 780 TI. Which would be the better card for the price? How much performance increase would I see? Specs in my signature.

I've become hooked on Linus's videos and decided I'd join the forum, and my first post will be a question of mine! I've been running an HD 6950 2GB for about 3 years now and it's served me very good. The card is still pretty up to date compared to most cards and I've never had trouble with it. I recently replaced my old Phenom II 1055T with an i5 4670 and a Gigabyte B85 motherboard. I didnt have a lot of money but was pretty desperate for a new CPU for the game I mostly play (Starcraft II), and I maybe regret the fact that I didn't save up and got a i5 4670K and a good Z87 board, but what's done is done. I'm going to be playing WildStar in June as well as the game Watch_Dogs that'll be out May 27th, and after 3 years of using this badboy, I kind of want a new card! I can't really afford them at full price and I've been told not to right now, but luckily for me, family members of mine are visiting emigrated family members of mine in the US, so I can buy a GPU off Amazon and get it here in the Netherlands without shipping. I've been looking at mostly the GTX 760. The GTX 760 is $250, that would translate to about €180,-. Is that a good deal? Some tell me it is, while others tell me to wait for the reboot of the GTX 700 series, and even others tell me to wait for Maxwell (GTX 800). Is that a better choice? Buying a 760 now will get me Watch_Dogs for free too but I'm willing to live without that if getting the card now isn't very beneficial! What do you guys think? I really need an upgrade soon because right now my GPU is my bottleneck, but am not sure if it's worth it to buy it now or to wait half a year. Thanks in advance!

So currently I have a 5770 and it has served me well for the last 2 years. I bought it second hand for $110NZD about this time in 2012 and it is decent for a lot of games, however some are just unplayable so it might be time for an upgrade. Thing is I don't really want to spend heaps, but I want the best increase in performance I can get which means second hand is probably the best option. I can get 2 6950's for $300NZD, maybe $250NZD if I'm lucky, but the 6950 is still from the end of 2010, only a year newer than the 5770. Although they performance increase would be very large I'm not sure if such old cards are worth it. However from what I can find, crossfire 6950s would be about as good as a 7970/280x, probably slightly slower, but would be faster if unlocked to 6970s. However the cheapest I can find a 280x is this for $280+ or from a proper store for $440. Of course there is no guarantee that someone won't bid the price up from $280 on the first option. $280 gets a 270 from a proper store... $250 is as much as I want to spend really... Or I could just get a single unlockable 6950 for $150. Help please! :unsure:

Hello All, So recently I have acquired a 3rd monitor from my brothers old PC. I wish to set up a 3 way set up however am having trouble doing so. I have had 2 monitors working for over a year but when adding the third and attempt to save the settings it is unable to. I am using a Samsung Sync Master BX2450 as my primary monitor and two older BenQ FP71V monitors as secondary monitors. My graphics card is a MSI R6950 Twin FroZr III. Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. When in the windows settings all monitors are detected and working, however when I set the displays to extend or duplicate accross more than 2 it says "Unable to save Display Settings". I have also tried using AMD's Catalyst program and am still unable to do so through that. Now I know that my graphics card supports a multi monitor set up but only using Display Port and 2 legacy ports. So I have used a Mini Display Port to HDMI converter with a HDMI cable for my primary monitors, a HMDI to DVI cable for one secondary monitor and a standard DVI cable for the second. I have also tried using 2 standard DVI cables and that doesn't seem to work either. Is it that all three monitors are not running the same resolution? This is the reason I believe it is not working. I have a used Powercolor 6950 2GB that I am no longer in need of (due to the arrival of a 780) and I was wondering how much it would sell for. I don't have picture but it has a single fan the rest of the card is open to the air other than the fan area. Thanks!

Hey guys, my 6950 is not fitting in my case. I have removed the hdd mount panel and it fit that way, but the two bottom fingers of the gpu touched the motherboard when I would put it in. I tried bending it back (picture) with pliers but it still didnt fit. Anybody have a solution to this problem? Thanks for the help. Here's the deal. I want to buy a defective Sapphire HD 6950 for litecoin mining off of ebay. The way that it is defective, is, that a micro chip fell off the PCB. The seller claims that since then it only produces stripes. Now i need to know if this micro chip is any important for just running it on load 24/7. i don't care about image output when I'm mining on it. I attached some pictures, it's just a tiny chip. Hi All, I am currently running a three monitor set up but only game on one with the other screens for facebook and what not. My Specs are: i7 3770k 8gb 1600mhz ram 120 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB WD Blue 1TB WD Green ASrock Extreme 4 Mobo Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced Case For my graphics is have a PCI-e Slot 1 - Nvidia 660 Ti with my Main 24" Screen Plugged in PCI-e Slot 2 - ATI 6950 with the two auxiliary screens plugged in My question is if i am running a game on my main screen with youtube or videos running on the secondary screens is the 660 ti rendering for all screens or just the screen that is plugged into it.
