So i plan on getting two monitors one for simple stuff like a video or a wikipedia page and the other for gaming and watching movies etc stuff that benefits more from 1440p. So the 1440p supports display port and the 1080p one supports HDMI can I use both. You probally can but i was just wondering. Also are the bezels and height around the same for these two monitors? 1440P:https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/YZn2FT/benq-monitor-gw2765ht 1080P:https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/mWV48d/benq-monitor-gl2460hm Will these work together good without looking terrible? I also plan on using both with a arm.

Hi. I recently bought a GTX 1070 and I feel like my monitor (BenQ Rl2455hm, 60hz, 1080p) is not cutting it anymore. So I have been looking around at both 4k 60hz, 1440p 75hz and 1440p 144hz but cant really decide on which would be the best choice for me. I play games like H1z1, Forza Horizon (On Xbox one),GTA 5 and Call of duty on Xbox. My specs are: i5 4570 GTX 1070 8gb ddr3 And these are the monitors I have been looking at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-MG279Q-Monitor-Display-FreeSync/dp/B00VH3HO6C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492797227&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+mg279q https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Computers-Accessories/ZOWIE-XL2730-Sports-Monitor-eQualizer-Adjustable-Vibrance/B01H07FVBS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492797252&sr=8-1&keywords=Benq+xl2730 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-U28E590D-28-Inch-LCD-Monitor/dp/B00WUACE4S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492797271&sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+u28e590d https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-PB277Q-Monitor-Flicker-Certified/dp/B01B6JD5A0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492797291&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+pb277q

I'm on a budget! No more than £300! Here's a short list of what I came up with... Dell 27" SE2717H, 1080p, FreeSync, IPS - Black [£178] Samsung 27" C27F398, 1080p, FreeSync, Curved, LED - Black [£221] Dell 25" U2515H ADZG, 1440p, IPS - Black [£288] Which do you think? Or is there any better?

Hello All, I'm looking for a fairly cheap 1080p FreeSync Monitor (RX 480). I would prefer 75Hz, but 60Hz should be fine. Response times should be below 10ms. For the size, I'm looking at anything from 21.5in to 24in. I'm playing Forza Horizon 3 and Overwatch. Budget is fairly firm at $130, however, if there is something worth saving more for, I will gladly wait. My current monitor isn't dying anytime soon, but it's kind of shitty (at least compared to what I'm looking at). What I have found so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hqmxFT/aoc-monitor-g2260vwq6 This seems to check all the boxes, and is commended by quite a few sources as an excellent budget monitor. Is there something better at this price point that I somehow missed? Thanks!

I need a monitor to game/ watch movies under Rs15000 = $150 Here are a few local retailers who offer monitors in my country, http://www.czone.com.pk/lcd-led-monitors-pakistan-ppt.108.aspx https://www.paklap.pk/computers/computer-accessories/lcd-led-monitors.html http://www.pakdukaan.com/41-led-monitors http://www.megacomputer.pk/accessories/lcds-leds.html?dir=asc&order=price&p=2 http://www.vmart.pk/lcd-monitors-pakistan/ https://homeshopping.pk/categories/Computer-Monitors/ http://www.shophive.com/laptops-computers/computer-peripherals/computer-monitors https://www.daraz.pk/computer-monitors/ https://shoprex.com/computers/monitors/led/

Right now I have a TV as my main 'monitier' mounted on the wall. However, I want to replace the TV with a low delay moniter. This is about Preformance and cost trade off here. The TV I am using is probably over 25 -40 ms in Delay running at (60 hz) Most of my most demanding games that require faster reactions I am not running over 60 fps currently however my PC has room for an upgrade card so the FPS could be there down the road. However I think the Difference I will see from a TV too a 1 ms delay moniter will be exactly what I am looking for fighting games mainly. However Looking at price to reward. I can get my 1ms Delay at 60 mhz, with speakers which I want for my consoles as well. For my PC however I could spill the extra dough to get the 144 mhz. However I don't get much over 60 FPS on Arma 3 or DCS world any way, Do I stand to gain much? I feel If I get a decent size a 60 mhz will be much better than the TV I am using now. I plan to keep for a long time, for those of you with 144mhz and have gamed on 60 mhz. How much of a difference can it make if you have the horse power to drive over 60 FPS ? Does it make a difference at 60 fps on the button? Less than 60fps will it be asking for an upgrade on the PC to get the value out of the Moniter? It's not easy to find many BenQ's locally, however I see some manufacture that is close too benQ.. I could order one, but If I w as too spring for the 144mhz it'd cost me over 500 Caddollars. I know it's not the cheapest for 1ms 144mhz, but this one has Speakers. https://www.144hzmonitors.com/reviews/benq-zowie-xl2730-review/ The other product I may consider would be Drastic improvment but marginal price reduction is here for 380 dollars so I'm saving 120 dollars.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zowie-RL2755-27-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKQUQ?tag=duckduckgo-ffsb-uk-21 They are on sale right now So I may move quick. I may take a risk. Now there is my big Question. Too you guys with experience dropping money on Moniters . Is this price difference justifiable for the Extra refresh rate? They are nearly same aside from the Frame rate. Could you guys convince a TV pleb from going from 30 ms of delay on my main moniter too 1ms, too justify over 100 dollars for the 144hz? I don't have many games I think it would really help but for games running like console "capped" at 60fps will the 144MHZ make a difference? Currently games like Arma3 I am only running at max 60 fps, Yet it could be potential future proofing however. I enjoy Sims so a extra moniter being lower refresh rate could be a future door too getting triple moniters at same size. Even if they won't match refresh rates, periferal moniters does not seem to be a big problem down the road. I'm not only considering those two moniters but that was what I found quickly avaliable in my area. I could order but may drive the price up or less depending how new or old. So community, does 144mhz make enough of a difference? Or will I be happy with just the improved Delay ;) I am decided on low response 1ms, minimum 60 mhz, but I am again Unsure about spilling more on the extra Refresh. However I will be upgrading GPU maybe depending on how Nvidea Volta looks or Amd tears up the competition hopfully. Could be a while but my 780 gtx is holding out for now, but I can still upgrade the card and get those FPS. Than my CPU will be the bottle neck, will be next to move onto a test bench or new CPU later and move over the new GPU. so the Extra MHz maybe will be useful down the road. But as it stands now I don't need or more so can't make good use of the 144mhz can I? How do you guys think of the Value of 144mhz vs 60 mhz? Thanks !

Hey there, i'm new to the forums but was wondering wether i needed a monitor upgrade, or if im just seeing problems that arent there. My current PC specs are as follows. CPU: Intel Core-I7-6700 at 3.40Ghz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (MSI) RAM: 16.00 gb DDR3 Mother Board: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H110M-A/M.2 (LGA1151) HDD: 1TB with a temporary 300gb HDD until i get my hands on a nice SSD Monitor: All this with a 60Hz 1920x1080 G276HL Monitor by Acer. Now i love the Stand on this particular monitor, and no there arent any issues per say with this monitors preformance, rather when i look at other monitors they just seem to flow, be a bit more crisp and seem a bit "faster" for lack of a better term. I was wondering if its due to my monitor being capped at 60Hz whereas nowadays 240Hz monitors seem to be rolling out and around. Im not too keen on curved monitors but id like to see if you guys think i should make a upgrade to a different monitor? And if you do, if you have any suggestions? (i do like the current size though.)

I've finished picking all my parts, and this is the build I settled on https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rRp6jc. It's beefy and I like it, however the hardest part for me seems to be the monitor. I have been tugged in so many directions 4k 60Hz, 1080p & 1440p 144Hz. Honestly I have been playing on console for so long everything looks the same as far as Hz go. I was at one time looking at 60Hz 4K monitors, I asked someone on the Bullet Barry discord if he had anything to say about 4K. I was yelled at for being a new generation fucc boi with rgb everything. Many others have also warned me about "The 4K Scam". However when I went tripple 1080p 60Hz no one had any problems. I have also been told to go with 21:9 ultrawide. I'm very confused.

So any chance floatplane club could have higher than 60fps on the video player? just a thought, for gaming videos this would be great considering almost no sites have higher than 60fps videos.

Posting from mobile. PC Specs Rampage IV Mobo i7-4960x 40GB ddr3 1333Mhz 2x MSI AMD R9 280x - Cross Fire Windows 10 Pro I just recently picked up the 38UC99 Monitor, had to also go back to purchase a Mini DP to DP cable. The issue I started to have right away after updating my AMD crimson drivers to the latest and hooking up the Monitor is I'm locked at 30Hz which is terrible. I thought it could be due to driver issue so I decided to do a clean install of my drivers using DDU (which is posted by AMD yet they say use at your own risk) luckily it created a restore point because after running that tool I was not able to install a single driver. I was receiving errors every time I tried to install a driver whether that was for the GPU or just a random device . So after a few hrs looking up those errors running; check disk, sfc scan, repair, and image repair which didn't solve the issue of drivers not installing I was left to restore. (now I have other issues which I just plan on reinstalling windows at this point.) Pretty pissed cause I should be able to achieve at lest 60hz I manually uninstalled all the drivers from device manager by forcing removal of the device and checking the 'Delete the driver software for this device' which took some time. After which I cleared out the registry for display adapters etc and finally was able to do a full clean install of AMD drivers. To my surprise I'm right back to square one stuck at 30Hz so yeah at this point I'm pretty pissed. So things at this point that I have done include the following: Buying multiple Mini DP to DP cables (To ensure I didn't have a bad cable) Update Windows 10 with all the latest updates. Installed the latest AMD crimson drivers. Uninstalled all AMD drivers using DDU (Worse mistake of the day) Restored using restore point Manually uninstalled all AMD drivers from device manager using 'Delete the driver software for this device.' Cleaned the registry of all old displays (1 had 6 23 inch 1080p Acers) Installed the latest Motherboard Drivers, Chipset drivers, audio drivers, Bluetooth etc. Updated my bios to the latest bios available Updated Windows 10 to latest updates (Not including the Creators update) Installed a clean / fresh version of the latest AMD Crimson drivers. All of which left me with the same results stuck at 30Hz. After trying to shutdown the computer I ran into a new issue, the computer refused to shut down or restart and would get stuck on the "Please wait while shutting down." screen. Wtf I knew this had to be gpu related because with no drivers installed the computer worked fine. After hitting up google its search reveals AMD has had a know issue with this while the cards are in cross fire. So I removed cross fire as I'm tried of reinstalling drivers and the fix posted was a bunch of crap to follow. Load and behold. Cross fire was my problem the whole time. I have finally achieved 75hz at 3840x1600 and the computer shuts down and restarts correctly. So I plug back in the cross fire cable to verify and sure shit capped back at 30Hz and can't shut down or restart. I have tested both cards and they work fine independently and are able to achive 75hz at 3840x1600, but as soon as I place them in cross fire I get the following issues. Windows will not shut down properly - stuck at the please wait while shutting down. Windows will not restart properly - stuck at the please wait while we restart. Monitor is capped at 30Hz So so why does cross fire cap my refresh rate at 30Hz. Well more like 27.something hz? Has anyone else run into these issues or know a fix that would solve these issues ?

Hi there, I'm trying to solve some problems with my dual monitor setup for a while now, nothing helped so far. Main problem: I have stuttering while watching netflix on the windows 10 app on the 144hz monitor if both monitors are connected. Additionally sometimes if I choose "duplicate screen" mode, the 60hz monitor is not acting as supposed, occasionally simply not displaying anything at all and therefore I have to toggle through the modes for a couple of times until it works. Before I bought the new 144hz monitor, I had two 60hz of the same type, which was my ideal setup, everything worked fine. The Acer monitor is connected via displayport cable shipped with the monitor itselfe. The Samsung monitor is connected via this 10m dvi to hdmi cable I bought on amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00QX1V43W/ I cant use a shorter cable because the samsung monitor is attached to an arm resting on a small desk infront of my bed a couple of meters away. I tested the samsung monitor with a brand new hdmi cable on my main desk to make sure it isnt the cable causing the problem. I tried activating gpu scaling on both monitors, suggested on some of my google research pages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any help is appreciated, do you guys have an idea?

Hi, I just built a new gaming computer. I am currently using an old monitor (1600x900) as my main monitor, as that is the only one I have that has a DVI-D port. I would like to make use my new EVGA FTW GTX 1080, by getting either a 1080p 144Hz or a 1440p monitor. I would eventually like to get 2 of them. Looking to spend under $500 (each). Here are some of my specs: Processor: Intel i7-7700k Video Card: EVGA FTW GTX 1080 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz 16GB (2x8GB) I am a casual gamer, mostly playing BF1, CSGO, WoW, and GTAV. I would like a monitor has good picture quality without sacrificing a lot of FPS. Any recommendations?

Sup folks, I seem to have fried the HDMI connector on my graphics card whilst cleaning, but the DVI connector is fine. Now, will DVI-A run 1080p @60Hz? Thanks in advance, Cheers, TJ

Hi. I want to overclock the Asus PG27AQ. A monitor that's 4K, features IPS and G-SYNC, but only runs at 60Hz. I was looking at overclocking this to at least 75? Is this possible? And if it is, how?

Howdy, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using a display port to hdmi adapter? I have an r9 290 and am thinking of using a cheap 4k tv as a monitor. However, as the 290 only has hdmi 1.4 and tvs don't have display port, I'd have to use an adapter. Does anyone know of a good adapter that will achieve 4k 60hz? I've had a look but many only claim 4k but no mention of 60hz. Cheers

Ok so i know that you guys on the LTT forum are pretty smart and after around 2 hours of researching this myself I cannot find a solution for my situation. So I am going to buy a gtx 1060 gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125901&cm_re=gtx_1060_gigbyte-_-14-125-901-_-Product and I play games like fallout 4 and witcher 3 but I also play games like COD and Overwatch. I currently have a 24inch 1080p 60hz panel with a gtx 760 for a while now. I had seen a 1440p 27inch and a 1080p 27inch monitor at bestbuy and of course since they dont have games running i couldn't test which one would be better. From what I have heard is that 1080p 144hz is good for FPS shooter games. But while a game like fallout 4 would look a lot better on a 1440p 60hz panel. Normally I would just choose the 1080p 144hz panel because i know that 1080p is good enough and i could use the extra frames for the games that i play. But a 27inch monitor paired with 1080p doesnt look the best while sitting in a chair gaming, dont get me wrong it looks alright but i can sort of notice thats it not the best quality. So 1440p for good quality and 60fps is enough right? But can a gtx 1060 even do 1440p max-very high settings. Now i asked my friend about this and he said just to buy a 1070 and i thought about it. But a 1070 is around $400 which i dont want to spend on a GPU that will be obsolete in 2 years when i dont do extreme quality gaming. So i dont know. What do you guys think. Is 1080p at 144hz worth it on a 27 inch or 1440p 60hz for an all around gamer. Also factoring in the performance if a gtx 1060 can even get up to more than 60 frames at max settings in AAA titles.

Hi guys, I need some advice from people that really know how cable bandwidth and monitors work. I have a pretty crappy computer with an intel i3-4130 CPU and a Asrock B85M-ITX. The ports for the motherboard are shown here. I use the integrated Intel HD graphics 4400 as my GPU. My motherboard does not have a displayport so I don't know what options I have to run the monitor at 3440x1440 @ 60Hz. Seems like HDMI 1.4 can only push it to a max of 50Hz. Would Dual Link DVI do any better? Is there some sort of adapter I could use to allow me to use a displayport to get 60Hz? Or is my only option buying the cheapest GPU with a displayport in built? Can someone advise me the cheapest way to get a 3440x1440 working at 60Hz? Thanks!

Title = question I recently read on reddit that I needed to use the (white) dvi cable so I switched from hdmi to that. One thing I have noticed though; I can't use the hdmi and dvi outputs (where I put in the cables?) on the top part of the back side. I need to use the lower side. Is this because the lower part is connected to my gpu and the top part is not? It worked fine on my other (60hz) monitor.

Hi, Im looking for a monitor with freesync (220$ budget). I'm interested in IPS screen since I often watch movies from the bed and at the moment it is terrible with my TN monitor, also better colours with IPS. I found two interesting monitors: http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/business-monitor/performance/LS24F356FHUXEN http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/business-monitor/performance/LC24F390FHUXEN Practically they are the same, the only difference is screen type, the cheaper flat screen is PLS (better?) and the curved has VA. Is it better to take PLS over VA? or there isn't a big difference? To be honest I really like the curved one or maybe I can find something better in this price range?

Hello LTT community, I'm going to be getting an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB video graphics card soon, and I was thinking about a monitor upgrade. My choices are a 2560x1440p 75Hz (Overclocked) IPS panel, a 1920x1080p 144Hz TN panel, and an ultrawide 2560x1080p 75Hz (Overclocked) TN panel. I will mostly be using it for CAD/CAE and some programming, as well as a good amount of gaming, including Projects Cars and Armored Warfare. All are rougly 24" class (16:9) monitors, so I want some opinions on which gives the best experience. Thanks, DAGGER51
