I was using GTX 1060 used card. Then it stopped working. So I'm planning to buy a new gpu probably RTX 2060. In specs recommended psu is 500W and I have Corsair CX 550W psu. But I was wondering if it won't be too much for my PSU as I want my PC to be stable for long-term. Do I need to upgrade for safer side? many says its completely fine and many says better to upgrade for safer side. I don't have much budget to buy another psu. Still would like to know your thoughts. PS: Not looking to buy any AMD gpu I know RX 6600 is a good option due to driver issues and all.

So i was done with my whole GPU thing and got a new one that i was enjoying with. Around a year and a half ago or a year my psu fan had BAD grinding noise. I sent it to a shop where my friend works he lubed it for me for around $2. Was happy with it and went on my day and never heard the noise again. Fast forward to TODAY and the noise came back for around a minute then disappeared out of nowhere. Before it happened tho i could hear slight rattling and clicking in the fan. Now that it happened the rattle and the grinding noise are gone but the fan still is spinning. (Which is how the first time started) so should i get it lubed again?..or should i just buy a new PSU or replace the fans? (A shop will do it not me) Psu is : FSP HEXA+ 550W (Note that i will have to sell my phone to to actually get a decent psu..an EVGA br or smth)

So I had just upgraded my old cpu to a gaming custom built one Specs, Ryzen 5 3600 CORSAIR 16gb GTX 1660 S Antec vp550, 550 w The problem is that my ups no longer backs up my cpu. Not even 1 sec. My ups is 600VA standard with no pure sine wave ac... And my psu has active pfa So should I purchase a higher va ups, or a 600va with active pfa (the latter is quite expensive so). I've read a few articles on needing active pfa ups, but not sure if that's the issue here Ps: I only need backup for a couple of minutes. My flat has its own generator, but theres a time delay when that turn on during blackouts...

So I recently replaced my gtx1060 3gb with a rx5700xt and have run into a issue and would like some outside input as I am not extremely knowledgeable in computers. The problem is that when I play videogames the computer turns off with no warning I have measured the GPU and CPU temp and they are nowhere near the turn off point the power supply is more than enough to sustain the system. The pc need about 400w to run and I got a 550w psu but I still added 3 more fans to the case to improve airflow thinking it is a cooling issue but the issue has continued. Before replacing the GPU I had no problems so now I am thinking it might be faulty power supply or bad and driver's but heard the new drivers fixed the majority of the issues or psu is not sufficient for new gpu. Recently, I want to change my graphic card into MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 6GB and my current specs are as below: CPU: i7-7700 Ram: 8GB x2 ddr3 klevv 2333 Current graphic card: Galax GTX1060 EXOC 6GB Current PSU: Cooler Master gx550w 80 plus bronze Storage: 120 GB Samsung SSD , 1TB 7200 rpm SATA Asus blueway recorder 3x 140mm cooling fan So , I am wondering whether my PSU can sufficiently power my new graphic card (2070) ? P.S: I am not going to overclock my graphic card frequently, but maybe in the future

I read every message about this PSU and looks like it's not the best one. Is it that bad? I already ordered all of my components so I can't really replace it. My specs are: Ryzen 5 3600, Kingston DDR4 3200 2x8, MSI B450m Gaming Plus, GTX 750 ti (for now, 1660 ti in next month), M.2 SSD and 1TB HDD I'm fine with this particular PSU or ...?

Hello, So I am building my first PC (yay!) But when I got my power supply in (Corsair CX-M 550W 80+ Bronze) the CPU power cable had something on it, I am not sure if it is dirt or corrosion I managed to get most of it off with a microfiber rag that's barely wet, but there's still some on there. My main concern is that there is stuff in the inside (not in the metal but right above it) and since I wasn't able to get it all off I don't know if I should send it back or what?

hi, I have 8 years old system with Cooler Master GX 550W psu. My Radeon HD 6850 died recently. Planning to buy Rx 570 4 gb or 1050ti. Issue is that (past 1 month) PSU fan sometimes spin very fast for 2-4 secs & makes noise, I can hear it from another room. I am worried, is it dying, will blow up, motherboard components burn/fail etc ( no warranty left :) . Is it a good time to upgrade my PSU ? I know 1050ti draws less power, but comparatively 570 is better in terms of power. Will be using system for gaming & video rendering (please don't suggest Ryzen or FX 8350, I CAN'T) My specs: phenom ii x4 955 Asus M5a88V Evo Cooler Master GX 550 psu 212 Evo kingston 2x2gb DDR3 1333 1 HDD, 1 SSD, 1 DVDRW

So I have a build ready to go, but I want to make sure the Power Supply is going to be strong enough for everything I have lined up with a pretty serious overclock on both CPU and GPU. The 970 is at 1420MHz Core and 3856MHz Memory according to MSI afterburner, and I want to make sure I can overclock the 2600 to the limit it will allow. Will 550 watts be enough for this build with WLAN, multiple USB devices, and things like a Blu Ray drive and Front Card Reader? I tried it on the Power Supply page of Cooler Master, but multiple people have told me that the page is "for morons" and is completely incorrect so I don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance! I have a few questions and I'm sorry if there are many, and I'm sorry for my grammar in English 1. What is good if we take the PSU with a wattage greater than the power required from a PC? my pc i5-8400 gtx 1060 6gb suppose I take 750w, besides the phrase "futureproof, who knows if you want to upgrade to a more vague vga" is there no reason why it's good if you take a PSU with a large wattage? if not why? 2. PSU efficiency that works when the capacity is full or not? I realized that the full capacity if the PC and PSU specs were different for PSU worked even harder, if the low capacity PC and PSU specs were far different where PSU had higher wattage so PSU work was not heavy (if wrong please correct my perception , because I study deeper in terms of PSU) 3. How big is the ratio of gold to platinum in paying electricity costs? 4. Better to take seasonic focus plus gold, whisper or corsair RMx bitfenix? all 550w 5. what's right if we use the 550w psu, the current power of the PC, then the power that comes out directly is the wattage of the PSU? thanks a lot

I have a Corsair 550W Power supply right now and a I5 8600k at 5.0 GHz stock voltage, I want to get a Gtx 1080 or the next 1180 (or whatever they call it) will 550W be enough, also running rgb lights, ram keyboard and mouse if that makes a difference.

I am looking for a new power supply since it has started making a buzzing noise. I have used different power supply calculators and i got with my current system (i7-4770k and a gtx 1060): Cooler Masters calculator: 362 load wattage 412W recommended from Cooler master Be quiet: 277W maximum wattage requirement. I am also going to be upgrading later down the line and therefore I also tested with a i7-8700k and a gtx 1080ti: Cooler master: 499 load wattage 549 recommended Be quiet: maximum wattage requirement 412 W I would also maybe like to try my hands at overclocking later. Should I buy a 550W g3 or a 650W g3?

Hello, My build is as following: Asus rog strix b350-f Gaming 1060 3gb ryzen 1600 ballistix sport? 2x4gb 2666mhz (dont know how to spell that) EVGA B3 550W +Bronze sertified x2 120gb ssd x1 500gb HDD (thats what i had laying around, probably enough) fractal design s36 (spare me for the "this is overkill" reply, i know , but i got it for a cheap price, ish) I read on the GPU package that arrived, that it needed a minium of 500w system, however im only running a 550W PSU. and according to pcpartpicker the calculations was 310W for the entire system, and other forum replies have noted a 400W to even be sufficent, but thats without naming the rest of the system. Is this sufficent enough to run the card without Power issues? considering the package said minimum 500W system, and im only 50W above that. thanks for replies in advance.
