Hi folks, I'm looking to ask the community for monitor recommendations that support PiP. In a perfect scenario, the monitor would support configuration via software. I'd also like the monitor to support at least 120Hz refresh @ 4K resolution. I'm currently rocking an LG 38WN75C-B, but the 60Hz refresh and lack of PiP is making me reconsider. I'm asking for PiP because I'd like to make it easy to view my work and personal PCs on a single display without linking the two PCs over the network. P.S. the recommendation doesn't have to be a curved monitor, but I certainly won't complain! Thanks in advance!

So a ~16 minute video 4k 60fps, takes ~38 minutes to encode... is this normal for my cpu? (Seems mostly being used 90-100%) And it doesn't seem to matter what bitrate the videos are, 150000kbps takes roughly the same time as 30000kbps... doesn't make sense, to me at least... I'm using the preset called "vimeo youtube HQ 2160p60 4k" (because that gives best results) Idk... i just think that takes too long? Also if I set it to average bitrate, eg, 28000 it takes even longer (???) , even though the bitrate is actually *lower* compared to this preset which will generally generate around 50000 - 60000 kbps videos (and yes, i know that's theoretically too high, but quality wise it works well, and really the problem is if I lower the bitrate manually it takes "longer" roughly 1 hour for such a "16 minutes video") Seems kinda bugged? Edit: actually 60000 seems fine (not sure about the conversion)? But, I uploaded some videos with lower bitrate (around half that) and that actually looked fine, problem is it takes even longer to encode (for whatever reason)

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if it's possible to copy UHD / 4K BluRays with the above mentioned player/burner? I never copied a BluRay before and don't know if there is a difference if it's just 1080p or UHD. Thank you

Hey all, was looking at some options for 4k monitors to use with my PS5. With that in mind im not against buying a 60hz since the PS5 is capped anyway. I have a few on sale on Amazon that ive been looking at and was curious if there was one that stands out or if anyone has better recommendations. Thanks for taking the time! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CH9ZTI4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_7BX39XBQ0H44X7CNGN70?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CVTTNN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_4TFJ5W2D43BDH6RM44S7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PGL2WVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_G0H7Y98M49JAQ87JXFCD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Hello everyone, i'm planning to buy a new TV on a budget, mainly for watching films and occasional gaming I can't make my mind about these two models Q70R and Q70T, the Q70R has full array local dimming and better for watching HDR content, but is it worth paying an extra 100 USD knowing that i will also lose HDMI 2.1 as the Q70R doesn't have it.

Hello! I am currently looking to upgrade my monitor for gaming. I actually don't really care about 120hz as I will be playing single player game more often... Any suggestions will be appropriated and my price budget is about 250$..

Hello guys! As I just bought a new xbox(xbox series x), it can output 4k 120hz but my tv is only 1080 and 60 hz.... My first question is that can I use my 4k and 120hz settings on my tv? And is it safe for the tv?

So I recently got a 4K monitor, it's only 60hz but it was free and it's bigger than my current so I am pleased with it. Before I was using a 1080p Monitor so my games ran fine but now I am noticing stuttering every so often. I mainly play Rocket League so I need the frames to be consistent, I use DSR to run it at 4K because I read about it on a steam forum post. But now reading what DSR does, I am wondering if I should be using a different method to run the game at 4K? Also, one of the games I play includes a DSR option in the video settings, should I switch the resolution of that game to 1080p and then turn DSR to 4x? Or should I run it at native resolution? My last question is, I have turned on Vertical Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel to "fast". Is this okay or should I turn it off?

Hi to all I have access to a set of 4 identical 1080p screens (from a local recycler) and I wanted to combine them in a 2 by 2 grid to make a single big monitor which would be of 4k resolution. However these are the ports available on my graphics card: 1 DisplayPort 1.4a and 1 HDMI 2.1. I was therefore wondering if you knew of a system that would "request" a 4k image from the graphics card on a single cable (DP or HDMI) and then split it onto the 4 displays. The only one I found was the Quadhead2go which retails for a fortune. I'm a computer science student so more on the cheap side and I don't mind doing DYI. Thank you all for your help! PS: I have an extra PCIe slot if needed.

I have spent months, buying, returning and testing monitors. I have read countless reviews and I realized that displays are always a compromise somewhere or another, I get that. I realized that I would never get a "perfect" monitor but I decided if I would get anything I'd like to buy a 32" 4k 120hz monitor. I mostly do console gaming, so anything past 120 at 4k is impossible and when I do pc game, my hardware is relatively dated, so unless its an esports game I can't get above 160 anyway. I was so ready to spend up to 800$ yet nowhere have I seen a monitor that complies with these very simple and realistic demands. Do companies think no-one uses 32" monitors for gaming? Am I just stupid for not finding one and they actually already exist? I know I went on a bit of a tangent, but I just want to know if any display with these specs actually exists or is going to exist sometime soon and if not, what is the industry's reasoning for not making one?

Hey Guys, i have a problem with my new Monitor. Its the LG 27GN950 UltraGear. A 4k 144hz 1ms Monitor. Now my Problem. I dont have a DSC GPU yet, but i want the 144hz in CSGO. If i put my Res on WQHD or lower with 144hz it says "Out of Range". I tried making costum resolutions with the CRU Tool and AMDs own software. But no matter what i configure i cant get 144hz. In the attachments you can see the Resolution i created. Does somebody have an idea? Thanks Ps: sorry for the not so perfect english im german ;)

Hello there. Just wanted to get the forum's opinions on this matter, so I can take some insight and decide between these two options (I'm really torn, not actually looking for validation on one over the other). I'm not really looking for any other suggestions, but if I'm dumb and there's an objectively better one that isn't much more expensive (I'm already stretching the budget here), please share. I am currently on a 1080Ti, but plan on upgrading to a 3080 when there's plenty of stock/ people get buyer's remorse and I can get one used. It can be your personal preference or your opinion on what I should get, with the considerations below: [Samsung Odyssey G7] - Resolution: 1440p - Refresh Rate: 240hz - Panel Size: 32in - VESA HDR Certification: HDR600 Caveats: Has a 1000R curve, is smaller. [Philips 436M6VBPAB] - Resolution: 4K - Refresh Rate: 60hz - Panel Size: 43in - VESA HDR Certification: HDR1000 Caveats: I've seen it has atrocious Local Dimming; don't know how distracting it would be in fast paced content. My usage is 70% media consumption (I am THAT guy that only buys the 4K HDR Blu-ray or downloads the 80GB movie), 30% gaming (Anno 1800, Civ5/6 and sightseeing games. Not a competitive FPS player, though I do play some). I also do occasional photo editing, but mostly as a hobby. Thanks in advance.

Let me tell you my previous and current setup first: My previous configuration: MB - EVGA Z170 Classified K CPU - Intel Core i7-6700K SSD - Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Memory - G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3400 PS - some 750W 80 PLUS My current configuration: MB - EVGA Z490 FTW CPU - Intel Core i9-10900K SSD - Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB GPU - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Memory - G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4400 PS - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ 80 Plus Gold I got the opportunity to get triple 4k monitors instead of the one ultrawide monitor (2560 x 1080). Browsing the site, watching movies while you work, everything works fine until i start playing a game on one monitor, watching youtube on secoind and having open web browser with some news on third. Whenever i click on video clip on browser during gaming and watching youtube at the same time, youtube start laging and it even change quality to from 1080 to 360. The same problem occurs with the old and new configurations. Only SSD is the same Any idea what could be causing this problem? Thanks, Jan

Hey peps, gulping for some knowledge about this. So i still have my old computer that is i think 10 years old now and still going strong funny enough, just true love for it. I am planning to get a new setup but i rather wanna wait a while longer because i dont really have the need to use a PC, but i still keep going back to .. maybe i should at least get myself started for the main purpose to watch High res 4k content on my CX Oled and then just having a PC at home and not be bothering to bring home to Work-laptop when i want it or going to work from home. First time i watched from the PC since i got the CX and watching a 50GB Hi-res 4K content it was stuttering from time to time, small frames so it was still watchable but its still there and its probably fine just sending it to and external HDD and input it directly to the CX. What im thinkin of and would like to know if there are any drawbacks getting an AMD G-series instead of a proper GPU as well as if there are any significance benefits. Cuz if i go that route i could either get the Ryzen 3 3200G or Ryzen 5 3400G, maybe a cheap 450 board on a small formfactor case and then upgrading these parts later on the line.

My 15m HDMi cable only has enough bandwidth for 4k@60hz. Is it possible to get 4k@120hz from an HDMi cable or what other method could make this possible? An extender? Is HDMi 2.1 required? Fiber optic? Some other cables with adapters? Not sure if any of this could work but I don't even know if it's possible

Hi guys, first of all, i am German, so my English will not be perfect, but deepl helps. I am thinking about selling my ASUS Predator X34P https://amzn.to/3ko1d1n to buy a good to very good 4K monitor. Why? I use the X34P mainly for gaming and streaming. Unfortunately I always have to lower the resolution to 2560 x 1440 px. OBS software and Twitch require a screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9, otherwise UWQHD 1440p will produce black bars at the top and bottom, like in movies. It's annoying, because many games don't offer a good window mode (borderless). In Germany, I can achieve a sales price between 400 - 650 Euro. I would like to have as big as possible, 4K, HDR, max FPS etc. Is the LG 27GN950 still top notch? https://youtu.be/-1xu0IP35FI Thanks for your help and advice. Mike My system: CPU: Intel i7 5820K (upgrade 2021 - AMD Ryzen9 5800X (or XT)) GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW 11 GB (upgrade 2021 - RTX 3080 (or SUPER)) RAM: G.Skill 32 GB DDR4 F4-3200C 16-8GTZB Mainboard: MSI Gaming 7 X99S (upgrade 2021)

First I'd like to start off by saying I am 100% a variety gamer, with a lean towards competitive FPS games. I was a huge CSGO player and am excited to get into valorant once I get home from deployment. Back home I currently have a BENQ 144hz XL2720z which is very enjoyable, and a old cruddy tv being used as sort of a second monitor. The rest of my build is an i7-9700k w/ a 1080 FE on a ASUS PRIME z390-a board with 2x8 gb ddr4 ram for a total of 16. I plan on eventually getting a 3 series gpu as soon as the scalpers stop ruining my life. Anyhow. With the money I've saved on deployment so far I wanted to get some new monitors to get rid of that awful tv and make my battlestation more sexy (^: but I didn't want to get another xl2027 because it's a tad bit dated now and also I wanted to look into the realm of 4k for my casual gaming / viewing / creating / etc. But I feel like having 2 different brand / model monitors can look.... "tacky" ? I just doesn't look as clean imo, So I went looking and found probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! The EVE SPECTRUM monitor line. Schedule to come out just a month after I get home I am VERY excited by this project. The monitors look sleek, with their thin bezels and none of that gaudy "pro gamer" crap on them, and my god the SPECS on them are something I don't think I've really seen all in one package. Now I am skeptical of course so I do plan on pre-ordering, however I don't plan to finalize my purchase until they've sent a few models to reviewers (which should be soon) and those reviewers have tested and verified that it's really the holy grail of monitors or not. I am hopeful though because the monitor was crowd developed by gamers like us so my confidence is high. My question though is this: ( This is where the meat of the post really is you can skip everything else above if you're not interested lmao ) Should I go with two of the 4k 144hz models, being able to browse in crispy and smooth 4k IPS @ 144hz while still being able to either A) Play my competitive games at 1080p 144hz ( since 144 frames @ 4k probably isn't possible, except for maybe with a 3090? or 3xxx ti? ) and B) Play my casual games at a stunning 4k res at 60hz ( Since again I probably won't be able to push 144 frames? ) OR Do I go with a 1440p @ 240hz MAIN monitor for my competitive gaming and maybe a 4k 144hz side monitor mostly for viewing media / browsing, or again, I could still have the option to play my single player casual games at a crispy 4k res. I've never felt what a 240hz monitor ist like, and I'm just not sure if the upgrade from 144hz is really worth it??? Especially when sacrificing that 4k, although I would still have the 4k on my second monitor.... Also would having 2 diff resolution monitors cause any issues?? Idk, I'm really struggling to come up with a decision here. Some help would be appreciated boys. TL;DR Is the jump from 144hz to 240hz worth the reduced resolution from 4k to 1440p? Should I get 2 4k 144hz monitors. or 1 4k 144hz monitor for browsing / media / casual crispy gaming and 1 1440p 240hz monitor for competitive gaming.

Hey guys, I wonder where can I find the 48" Lg CX that Linus reviewed recently in Europe? Can't seem to find any, in all stores. Is the european model labeled as a different model maybe?

Im (eventually) going to get a 3090 or 3080ti i play both single player and multiplayer games and because of that I would like to focus on visuals (4k 60 plus frames with rt on) during non completive and on competitive (1440p 144hz). So you can lower the resolution but as someone who has only used a 1080 p monitor whenever i lowered it to like 1600 it looked like crap. So is what im thinking possible and would it look bad on a 4k montior?

Hello, I was given an Asus Chromebook C434T for work. I was wondering if it supports an ultrawide external 4K display? I’m currently using a 22 inch old monitor from work and wanted to upgrade. Also, I’m trying to decide between two 24 inch monitors or one giant ultrawide 36 inch maybe? I want to be able to pull up multiple excel spreadsheets and use other various software for work easily. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and have a bigger monitor for personal gaming and movies at home as well work, maybe. I want to make sure my work device will support the ultrawide 4K if i go that route. Amateur here. Any advice?

I have the Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor - AW2721D (Latest Model) - 240H for my main gaming monitor. I would like a secondary monitor for my workstation use, a 27" Dell specifically. Something that give a great color calibration out of the box from factory. Looking for good display HDR I've heard that 4K monitors don't go well with 1440p monitors atm, due to some resizing display issues with windows. If that's not the case then a 4k monitor I think would be my best choice for a workstation screen, I just need advice in what to choice. Budget is $700. I'd prefer something more then 60hz, but if not then I'm fine with that, only because it's only for my workstation usage.
