Hey guys, My father wants a new TV and asks me for advice. Unfortunately I have no idea on the subject of TV's. What can you guys recommend. We're looking for a 4K TV with a Budget on 2000€. It should be 75 inches in diameter. Smart TV/App compatible for streaming. Keep in mind my father is not a gamer. We're more talking about high quality TV/Bluray/Streaming experience. Our old TV's often had the problem that the picture was like "ghosting" a little after if there were fast movements. Thank u in advance. I hope I was specific enough

Hi, there. My Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q1A 4K monitor is equipped with 1 DisplayPort 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports. When I hook up my GPU on my main machine to either one of them, it displays 4k resolution as expected. However, when I try plugging either a phone or a laptop through HDMI, the resolution gets capped at 1440p, with no option to go up. The weird thing is that when I plug either of theses devices into my 4K Samsung TV, both show the option to set the resolution to 4K. I suspect it's not an issue with the cables (I tested two), so what could be causing this problem?

Buying the HEVC Video HEVC Video Extensions on the Microsoft store suddenly fixed everything! And all this time I was questioning why Disney would make all their big budget shows, film them in 4k or greater and only distribute them in 720p. It's madness Microsoft does not include them in Windows by default and more madness that Disney and Netflix and Amazon Prime don't publish this as a solution or tell you you are being limited. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has experienced this.

Hi there guys. I'm trying to build a new system for a friend of mine working as a web developer on Linux/PopOS. 1. Budget & Location Budget for this build will be around 1500€ (~1600$), we are located in France. 2. Aim The aim here is to upgrade a 6-year-old build that is starting to show its age. He currently has a 7700K and a 1050Ti with 32GB of RAM. No gaming, no video or photo editing, just coding/programming with a lot of open tabs, web browsing etc. 3. Monitors He has 2x 32" 4K monitors (LG 32UN500) 4. Peripherals No additional peripherals needed, he mostly uses Linux and switches back to Windows from time to time. 5. Why are you upgrading? He just wants to upgrade to something a little bit faster and snappier as he has started to notice some lags in his workflow. For the CPU, I was thinking about the Ryzen 9 5900X as it's getting quite cheap and seems like a good value for the money (370€). Mobo, a decent B550 board with wifi (maybe the MSI Gaming Edge Wifi if I can find one available). RAM will probably be 32/64GB DDR4 with a decent clock but maybe I need to consider the infinity fabric here ? Let me know. My biggest interrogation is with the GPU, I know a web dev doesn't really need one but since he's using 2x 4K monitors I was debating whether or not more VRAM could be beneficial (he currently has 4GB). I was thinking about the RTX 3060 12GB but it's sitting at 399€ currently which is way above MSRP. Let me know your thoughts on this ! Thanks !

how’s the performance on premier pro with your ryzen computers or intel? Might upgrade to a 5700x

So I just built a new pc that should hopefully last me for quite some time. It's a 13900k and an aorus OC 4090. I currently have two VG27AQL1A monitors. I don't necessarily want to upgrade to a higher monitor if I don't need to. But am I leaving performance on the table if I stay at 2k? Or is this a situation where I have great quality and fps at a lower resolution compared to higher resolution with lower fps and quality?

A couple days ago I was watching my cousin play a game at 1440p in a 4k TV, I swear to god we couldn't tell a noticeable difference between that and native. Truth be told, It was a 4K 55" TV standing like 10 ft from us, but our opinion on sharpness didn't change when temporarily looking at it from 5 ft. So I'm confused... why did it look sharp if the 4K TV was displaying 1440p ???

I'm looking to upgrade my main gaming monitor, and I've been looking at ALIENWARE 34 CURVED QD-OLED GAMING MONITOR - AW3423DWF. However with acer's Predator X27U coming soon, should I wait for that, or is their a better option that I am not aware of? My other 3 monitors are 4k, but i'm not seeing a monitor as good as those 1440p ones

Budget (including currency): 2000 - 2200€ Country: Lithuania (Europe) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Raid Shadow legends client, Candy crush on facebook....... Work ( medium loads with some excel sheets and oracle DB administration tasks, most of it is done remotely), also 4K gaming (non competitive). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Some time ago i got a 32 inch 4k monitor (Philips 326M6VJRMB/00). I want to get/build new PC that can give me stable 60FPS at 4K in modern games (and for games to come). I've done some research and this is my part list : 1 - Motherboard : Gigabyte B660M GAMING X DDR4 motherboard Intel B660 LGA 1700 micro ATX, current price : 140,87€ 2 - CPU : INTEL Core i5-12600KF current price around 295€ 3 - CPU cooler : MSI MAG CORELIQUID 360R V2 Liquid CPU Cooler '360mm Radiator, 3x 120mm ARGB PWM Fan, current price : 124.59€ 4 - RAM : ADATA GAMMIX D10 32GB 2x16GB DDR4 3200MHz, current price : 86.22€ 5 - SSD - ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1000 GB, SSD interface M.2 NVME, current price : 74.69€ 6 - PSU : Deepcool PSU DQ750ST 80PLUS GOLD 750 W, current price : 69.99 7 - GPU : RX6950 XT 16GB ASUS TUF Gaming OC, current price : 898.99€ 8 - HDD - SEAGATE Desktop Barracuda 7200 1TB HDD 7200rpm, current price : 46.95€ 9 - More fans : Deepcool CF 120 3 in 1, current price : 20€ Total : 1,757.3 For the case i was looking something like BE QUIET PURE BASE 500DX White (around 120€) so then the total would be 1877.3€. But it can be any case. Looking for any advice or recommendation. P.S. I can also buy AMD CPU based build.

I need help with some monitor recommendations . Looking to update my BenQ PD3200U 32 Inch 4K UHD. Been rocking it since 2019 and it's been great, but 60hz obviously isn't cutting it for gaming. However the features of my monitor are perfect and not looking to compromise on them to justify an upgrade. The monitor is used for professional video editing, graphic design and game dev. As well as gaming. And don't worry about the budget. The monitor is connected to an i9 12900K with a 3090Ti through display port , a brand new Mac Mini M2 Pro through HDMI, and sometimes a 2019 i9 Intel MacBook Pro. The minimum requirements for the new monitor (must check all 6): Resolution: 4K 2160p (3840x2160) Size: 32" No more, no less. No ultrawides. No dual sets ups either just a single 32" monitor. Refresh Rate: Over 120Hz - Ideality 144-165hz+ Color: At least 98% AdobeRGB, DCI P3. Ideally 100% sRGB/Adobe. Controls: Remote or an external switch to change input sources quickly. An external KVM is not a solution. Mount: Vesa Mount (100) Additional Notes: Speakers, microphones, internal usb kvm are not import. Will be on a monitor arm. So the stand isn't important either. This is the only option I've found that's comes close: https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor/gaming/ex3210u.html Hoping you know of a better option or two. I'm not brand loyal. I'm looking for the best option for my needs. I'm open to waiting a bit for the OLEDs as well. Thank you,

Budget (including currency): currently unsure since in research phase (USD) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: • Games > Simulators like American Truck Simulator (ATS), Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2), Custom Order Maid 3D 2 (COM3D2), World of Warcraft (WoW), Final Fantasy Series, and Storyboard Games. 3DXChat and Second Life Online Social Worlds. • Software > Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), PowerDVD 22 Ultra, VideoStudio Ultimate 2022, PaintShop Pro 2023 Ultimate, Clip Studio Paint Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): • Have the SilverStone SST-SG13P (pink, mesh front panel) with the G11313530-RT I/O Upgrade Kit and the PP08 SFX PSU Adapter in black, but wanting White Vesion. • Looking at the SilverStone SX1000 Platinum for Room to Grow and Reliability (Still have fully functional ST1500 Silver from 2009), the Akko’s Sailor Moon Crystal Series (5108S or 5108B Plus with Akko Crystal Switches Keyboard | AG325 Mouse | Sailor Moon Crystal Mouse Pad | Sailor Moon Crystal Wrist Rest), TrackIR 5 Head Tracking System • Display is my existing Sony KD-55X720E 55” 4K HDR10 TV. not sure on a chipset, cpu, true 2-slot gpu, cpu cooler. thinking a NMVE for boot and 2nd for steam drive depending on mobo features. If only one nmve mobo a large capacity 2.5” SSD since there is 165 games in my Steam Library with lots Add-on DLC (Can Provide Link if helpful). A massive 3.5” HDD would be very helpful for media file work mass storage. So unless a thin aio would clear will need a air cooler. this is a massive decrease in build from original build of quad 1080p 144hrtz to using tv and head tracking for driving sim. Going to build moveable wheel stand out of 8020 aluminum for putting put the way via casters.

i have an acer xv282k kv monitor and it supports 4k hdr at 144hz and i have a 4070ti (aka 4080 12gb lol) and i can use hdmi 2.1 or dp 1.4 with dsc but i don't know which is better to use. i want to get the best quality at the highest Hz i can also not use dsc if possible because i personally prefer that there is less messing around with data/video signal. apparently hdmi 2.1 can support it easily and dp 1.4 has to use dsc but according to the internet they both can and cant handle the data also both can and cant use full chroma. out of the two which would be the better option to use?

Budget (including currency): ~3500€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Exclusively Gaming: anything from Cyberpunk 2077 to Civ VI So I'm planning to finally build a new rig after 5 years now. I plan on playing on 4K Ultra and want to be able to play new releases that way for a few years as well. Therefore I have already decided to build around a 4090. My current part list is this: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/4bphXy In addition to this I plan on getting a 4K@144Hz monitor like the Gigabyte M28U I'm mostly wondering whether the DDR5 is worth it, what the performance difference between the 13700 and the 13600 at 4K ultra is (bottlenecked by 4090 anyways maybe?) and if my picks for PSU, Cooler, Motherboard and Case are any good. I really want to avoid spending extra on non-performance components like the Case so if you know of something that performs comparably well and can house a 4090 please do tell.

Budget (including currency): $1500-1800 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Majority gaming use, Apex, COD, League of Legends, CS:GO, Valorant, Overwatch, Civ VI, Rainbow 6: Siege, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I am uneducated on building PC's I haven't had a computer class since 2010. I do know that their were some big announcements in the area of cpu's at the end of last year and that is the extent of my knowledge. I have done a few pc builders but my biggest concern is longevity of the system before needed to be upgraded, mainly in the cpu. Minimum Resolution: 2K Preferred: 4K General FPS: Around 120 CPU: Intel i5-12400f 6-core Motherboard: ASUS B660 Series - Intel Ram: 16GB DDR4 Dual Channel Storage: 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD (This seems very small, I'm thinking I will need to add a HDD for extra storage. Does this impact anything if I add a HDD? Can it just be used for storage as I have heard its better to "run" off the SSD, no clue what they were trying to say by that.) GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB Power: 700W ATX 80 Plus Gold Wireless 802.11ac (No clue what this is just saw it on a few builds I was looking at for reference so here it is) Cooling: No idea what I need here but I would prefer liquid (cuz it looks cool) unless that will make upgrading in the future more difficult than its worth. Monitor: something that will at least do 2K preferably 4K. I have build one on Digital Storm and I have included that link as well: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4590102 I don't have an issue buying a custom build from a place like Digital Storm but I just don't know if will be what I need for the long term. I just don't want to get something that is going to struggle with any new games that come out in the next few years.

I purchased 4080, but i lack fps probably cause of my screens
Vellu posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I run with i9-9900k 3.60GHz - 3 years old, recently "pasted" RTX 4080 2x Asus 24,5" TUF Gaming VG259QM, 280Hz (OC) Full HD - Both 1 year old i play games with like 35-40'c gpu temp, 160-220 fps mw19 multiplayer in example with best settings and Balanced DLSS setting Is my screens holding me back most at the moment, should i go for 2k or 4k screens? I mainly play fps games so 4k is probably not that good choice Thinking of moving into wide screen, but never tested so a bit HMMM -
Looking for a new laptop and wanted to ensure it has battery life. I know 4k is more straining on the gpu but would buying a 4k screen and running 1080p resolution save any battery life and if it does will it be comparable to battery life of a 1080 screen?

So im currently running this setup but i dont have enough HDMI ports so I am with two monitors at 120hz and the other at 60Hz due to the DP to HDMI adaptor... It is also a lot of workload for my GPU if i improve the image quality to ultra setting and it crash the game... Does anyone know if i can attach another GPU (with or without SLI) and take advantage of the extra ports for the monitors and also distributing the workload? And will game like Flight simulator or IRacing run properly on full ultrawide screen? (they do now)

Hello Friends, For some reason, as soon as I switch my PC to 120Hz, my screen displays a "no signal" message. Help me figure out why? My video card has one HDMI 2.1 port and two 1.4a display ports. Everything works fine when I use the HDMI cable with the HDMI ports on the PC and LGC2. However, I recently got a 1.4a to HDMI 2.1 cable and I get the error when I switch to 120Hz. I need the LGC2 on the display port so I can connect a second screen which only has HDMI. Hardware: LGC2 6900 XT HDMI 2.1 Cable DP 1.4a to HDMI 2.1 Cable

Hello! Im looking to buy a new monitor that can cover both my gaming and professional needs. I would greatly appreciate some input from you guys, which monitor i should look into that can cover all my (hopefully realistic) needs. The price is not that much of an issue as long as the monitor covers the following requirements: 27inch 4k 90-144hz 100% adobe rgb I have tried to look but got lost in the sea of monitors, plus it seems to me that there are few monitors that would be as good for professional work as for gaming... Cheers! Greg

I’m kinda running into an issue with my setup. So it’s my first PC, ROG STRIX G15DK. It’s got an NVIDIA RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. My monitor however is really all I got. It’s a 4k OLED ThinQ 65”… obviously 4K looks amazing, but when I get into games like Tarkov or MSFS 2020… looks amazing but at about 20fps 30 on a good day. I have my CPU ratio set 41.75 and my RAM settings set as tight as I can without having much knowledge about PC’s, as well as all the performance settings set in bios. Doing this I get about 10-20 more frames and it seems my cpu is showing better performance. Now my big issue is the 4K tv, I’m currently setting it at 1080p as it looks clearer than 1440 for some reason. It still looks blurry and jagged like textures and words, and I still only see 30-50 FPS sometimes up to 70 at medium settings. Is there something I’m missing with settings or anything to get max quality and performance with my set up or am I screwed because I have a 4k tv?
