My budget is around 300€ (or less if possible) Games I want to be playing : Warzone , Mafia, Red dead redemption , cyberpunk and anything else I will throw at it ,mostly gaming tho. Most eu shops will do for me I already have a 1650s and I’m gaming at 1080p on a 60hz display, I want to purchase the hardware on Black Friday ideally I know the new ryzen 5000 series is going to be released soon but I think the prices will be too high and the availability might not be there I am not sure which B450 board to buy , I think a b550 doesn’t have more to offer , and i don’t really know if I should go for a ryzen 7 2700 for the future proofing(extra cores) or for a ryzen 5 3600 .I also don’t know if any ram will do but I wanna go for 16gb. Your recommendations will be appreciated . Thanks in advance .

Recently bought a R5 3600 with Asrock B450 Steel Legend Using stock cooler Getting Idle Temp 60-70c spiking every 2 seconds Goes to 95c In game Clock too is spiking every second 2.1, 3.5 upto 4.2,not stable at all Done Resetting Bios, no changes Case Air Flow is good too 4x120mm fans

I dont know what is going on and im new to ryzen mobo, so yeah lets just get into the main point. My CPU temp on Ryzen Master goes up to 90C without any overclocking on just regular basis (like Chrome, Steam and Discord on background) for no reason. Especially when opening Chrome tab. It went up like crazy and when I open task manager, it back to normal temp in instance without letting me know whats going on before it went back to normal Using my stock cooler here (Checked if its mounted properly). Updated all my BIOS and chipset to latest one. Ambience is quite hot here around 30-31C, pretty much fine airflow case (no problem found with my GPU temp). But idle temp is still around 45-55C. Power on Ryzen balanced setting. Tried to find out solution but nothing works so far. I kinda want to troubleshoot it first before getting a new cooler, dont want to spend extra if my CPU still behaving like this My PC setup: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler MB: MSI B450 Gaming Max Plus RAM: 2x8GB @ 3000 XMP enabled PSU: Antec 650W 80+ Bronze

I just installed my new AMD Ryzen 5 3600 in my MSI Tomahawk Max motherboard with the stock cooler. During the installation, I had some trouble getting the cooler onto the processor because I didn't properly hold the backplate down while tightening the screws. This resulted in taking on and off the cooler a couple of times in order to get it right. I saw that some of the thermal paste had been spread a bit around but I didn't have any to substitute with so I had to go with what I had. I am not sure if this is the reason that I get pretty high idle temps. As of writing this, the temps are between 46 - 64 degrees Celcius and opening a program may get it to spike to 69 degrees Celcius. These seem like rather high idle temps to me but I would love the get some else's opinion about it. I am currently using the AMD Balanced settings as the windows power option. Besides that, I haven't changed anything since related to performance. It's just rather annoying to hear the CPU fan ramp up and down constantly. Any help will be massively appreciated!

So I'm working on a friends computer, it's a CyberpowerPC with a Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi, 16GB 3000mhz Crucial Ballistix memory, and a MSI Ventus GTX 1660. It started to not post and the PSU which is the EVGA GD Gold 600w was making a double click every time you try to power it on and will also come on for 2 seconds and then power off immediately repeatedly just on off, on off, over and over while double clicking. He thought it was his PSU so he replaced it, it now boots into Windows but will randomly restart without warning and without a BSOD or any sort of log or error message. I have tested the old PSU that was having the issues with a both a PSU tester and by hooking it up in another gaming rig and it worked fine with both so I'm positive it is not the PSU. So far these are the steps I have done. Bios update to the latest available. All drivers and chipset updates. Reseated the CPU. Ran Memtest86 (Restarts randomly while running the test, no memory errors in logs) Tested in Winpe (Also restarts randomly) Removed motherboard and components from case and have them on a motherboard box for bench testing. Issues persist all the same as normal however the EVGA PSU that would just click and power on and off is now posting and starting to go into Windows before it clicks and powers off and on again instead of every few seconds. As of right now I'm leaning towards the motherboard or CPU being the issue, as looking through other forums and posts with similar issues have had their issue fixed by replacing one or both of them. My next step is to test with another CPU to see if the issue still persists with a completely different CPU. Please let me know if you have had a similar issue or have a suggestion.

I'm new in Ryzen space and I found my newly bought (about week ago) Ryzen 3600 very surprising One of it's biggest surprises was its temps. My previous rig was Intel 4930k 130W TDP chip overclocked to 4.2 Ghz and Idle temps were 27 degrees and during stress (Cinebench r20 run for ex) it was 55-60 degrees Celsius (21C deg room temperature) So I was very surprised when I installed Ryzen 3600 65W TDP chip and it was 33-40 Degrees Celsius idle and 73 degrees during stress in Cinebench r20. I have Kraken x62 so it was very surprising to me that I've bought chip which was supposed to run cooler, ran hotter. I like keeping my PC quiet while rendering in Blender so I wasn't happy And this is where my "Undervolting" began, and the results were... surprising At stock: 71-73 Degrees Celsius under load, 3563 points in Cinebench r20 4.2 Ghz | Peak Voltage limited to 1.125V: (Haven't tested this config in longer term) 54 Degrees Celsius under load, 3770 points in Cinebench r20 4.4 Ghz | Peak Voltage Limited to 1.2375V: (Testing for several days without any stability issues) 64 Degrees Celsius under load, 3959 points in Cinebench r20 All temps were checked in Ryzen Master I've been running 4.4Ghz 1.23V config for several days and haven't discovered any instability so far. So here are my questions: Why by making my Peak Voltage 0.1V-0.2V lower my CPU is faster without any penalty so far? Why does it even work and how does it work? And why this chip which is half of TDP of my old one runs hotter? Will there be any hidden Penalty? For Example Cinebench r20 can show bigger scores, but in other use case which puts CPU into its limits, lack of voltage could show a a lot worse performance than stock one?

So, I'm having a difficult time pulling the trigger on a mobo and after lots of searching and research, I'm still unsure if i'm on the right path. I'm going to be using a ryzen 5 3600 and I think I was going to try the ASUS AM4 TUF X570 but the 570's addition of a chipset fan has me worried. A little sound I can deal with but the fact that the chipset fan might be in the way or something else in the way of the fan makes me wonder if I should try something else. I'm trying to get ahold of a RTX 2070 Super (provided it's ever in stock anywhere at around the $500 dollar range) and I don't want to run into space issues. Some other boards I've looked at have mentioned that they're so cramped that even the stock coolers don't fit. So does anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind if it's a 470 either, I don't mind if it doesn't have built in wifi but if it doesn't then I'd obviously like one that can handle a PCIe wifi card without issues.

I'm upgrading my ram in my system. Right now I have 16gbs of 3000mhz cl16 memory from corsair. Do I need to do anything special to install the new ram? Its corsair vengeance lpx 3600mhz, cl 18.

Hi guys im really kicking myself over this because every time it comes to technology I always have bad luck. So my problem today is that my computer is getting less frames than my friend with a similar build but different GPU, mine is the 2070 Super and he has a regular 2060. I'm afraid I might have to RMA it but I hope its not the case so I'll explain to you my problem. My build: Friends Build: MB: MSI tomahawk B450 (non MAX). MB: MSI tomahawk B450 Max CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: Corsair vengence pro RGB 2x8 3000 mhz RAM: G.skill 2x8 3200 mhz GPU: RTX 2070 Super GPU: RTX 2060 PSU: Thermale take RBG 750 watt PSU: not sure brand but is a 600 watt We both have two monitors, I have one connected to hdmi and dp and he has one dvi and hmdi, and I also have a 144hz monitor My buddies and I game every night and recently one of my close friends decided to upgrade his system, he doesn't know much so I built him a list on pcpartpicker and he got everything I told him. So we play BO2 zombies since it was on sale and he was getting around 400+ frames while I was averaging only 200. I changed some setting around the NVIDIA CP and managed to get around 350, but still it bugs me that I had to change some settings. Also in the BIOS, my computer had my RAM at 2666 mhz instead of the 3000 max capacity and similarly the computer was not using the 4.2 ghz that was advertised. I asked my friend about his and what it said and as much as I know his computer was at 4.2 ghz not sure about the RAM. Another thing to add is that I did enable XMP and also the Game boost included in the BIOS but that crashes from time to time. I have tried to use other games and see what comparisons I can make to the performance of the card an here's what I got: GTA 5 gets around 70 fps while his get almost twice that AOTennis 2 a game I only play seems to cap itself at 120-135 fps the number is constant depending on the match. MW I get 100-175 fps raytracing off and the frames depend on the map. I have checked temps I don't have them since I never recorded but they were never high. The other thing I tried is running 3DMark well the demo version idk if that will affect it but I'll include a picture I took of it, yes picture I just didn't screenshot lol I also didn't realize how bad the quality of it was. The scores themselves were lower than what others tested, I haven't used this program before but from what I can tell 500 points lower on the CPU is not normal, at least I hope, but the graphics card was also under performing but I forgot by how much. The last thing and most recent thing I tried that was major was to reinstall windows a fresh install and as I did find a youtube video that said that it could help, but sadly it didn't. I know this was a lot but I just want to include everything to make sure it's clear what I've done and haven't done. edit: going to reseat gpu and ram edit2: did this and now my score on 3dmark is worse

Hello. This year I plan to upgrade to a new rig since my current one can't run my fav games at good looking settings. Thing is, I am not sure if I should wait for the upcoming Zen4 and Ampere. I would like to enjoy playing these summer holidays, since in September I will be in school and no time for it. Hi all, Im looking to build a system this august to replace my old system that has bitten the dust. This will be a temp system for gaming, mid cad / rendering work and light/mid work in the adobe suite, which will eventually be donated to my mother when i build my main rig in Feb of next year. I'm trying to target 1440p gaming (60fps+), mid cad/rendering work and light-mid work in the adobe suite. I live in the UK and would be looking to purchase in August as this is a replacement for my recently deceased system. Ignore the psu, its just a price place holder until a nice unit is back in stock. I also have an SSD to throw in so I don't need to worry about storage . Hello, this is my first time posting on the forums. I have been watching linus for past few years and have been building computers since the days of the first AMD 1ghz processor. I recently had to purchase a 3600 from best buy because I dropped my 1700x while trying to transfer it to a new case and motherboard. I have noticed some unusual high idle temps on my new 3600 45c 55c and its never lowering the clock speed. I have updated to the latest bios. With little success. The only way I found to force the voltage to 1.000v but, I feel like I'm limiting the cpu. Any help would be great. I'm using a deepcool air cooler.

So I bought a new motherboard an asus b450 plus gaming and i bought a brand new cpu ryzen 5 3600 and i wanted to know if the boot screen will pop up even if i didn't update the bios.

My latest SFF-ish build! Love the H210 and amazed that its all metal construction. Really, really solid case - just that glass side panel that difficult to get off. I spent ages on the cable management and really enjoyed building a SFF-ish form factor. I've been really wanting to do a compact-ish build for a long time and finally I saved enough, and with COVID there seemed to be no better time. My previous build was a full tower LGA-2011 build with a 6850K in a Corsair 750D, which, although lovely - was just too big. I sold all that off over a year ago, moved down to London with my partner and after over a year of no PC gaming I couldn't do it anymore and built my dream machine. I had a really strange issue where I got a VGA POST code and had to use an old 660Ti to boot from initially. The 980Ti worked fine in the OS and after putting it back after one successful boot with the 660Ti, but the issue came back after updating the BIOS to the latest 1407 build. Turns out there was a not well publicised firmware patch for nVidia cards back in 2018 that my card required to run on DP1.3/1.4 (which is the default on my monitor). This information was burried in the backend of a ROG forum post, a quick google will reveal the FW patch and it only takes a few seconds. After that, the BIOS splashed correctly and even resolution matched which was nice! Update: Unfortunately, I've had to RMA the Asus ROG Strix X570-I board after just a few days thanks to the lovely magic smoke popping out and it appears the RGB controller has died. Luckily it didn't take anything with it, the system still works fine, just without any RGB on the board or Aura. I don't make use of any RGB strips or anything, was just going to leave them white. But as of tomorrow, its in the post and I assume its going to be a few long weeks until a replacement arrives (as I am within 14 days of purchase). So, I have noticed now that even with adequate cooling, when I am running anything at 144hz with clear headroom. I seem to have microstutters in games. Especially CS:GO. I know it favours Intel chips more but still, I am getting well over 144 FPS (I lock to 144). I just can't work out where these stutters are coming from. Minecraft does the same. I am currently running a Minecraft server with no issues on my older chip. Now if I walk more then 10 blocks I am getting that microstutter. (Lock up if you will) Any help would be appreciated. I am buying 2x8 Trident Z series and I want to know what is the difference between 3200mhz vs 3600mhz. When I look at high end builds I am always seeing people with ram speed of 3200, what is so special about it?

I am quite keen on buying the b350 tomahawk, but i am not sure if the corsair 3600mhz ram (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3600MHz-Systems-CMK8GX4M2B3600C18/dp/B0143UM7WG) will be compatible (run at 3200mhz) on the b350 tomahawk, after checking the compatibility list on msi website (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK.html#support-mem-2), it says that it is supported, however I checked the ryzen website (https://www.amd.com/system/files/2017-06/am4-motherboard-memory-support-list-en_0.pdf) for compatibility, but found it not to be on the list, any suggestions? help will be greatly appreciated
