http://www.redmondpie.com/storagegate-32gb-iphone-7-plus-reportedly-has-slower-storage-than-other-variants/ So it turns out that some iPhone 7 32GB and iPhone 7 Plus 32GB phones have slower storage than their 128GB counterparts. In the article above, they reference a synthetic benchmark in which they record a 10 minute 4K video on an iPhone 6S Plus 64GB, a 7 Plus 32GB, and a 7 128GB. The video was then trimmed exactly in half using iOS's inbuilt video editing, and the time it took each phone to create a copy of the new trimmed file was recorded. The iPhone 7 Plus 32GB has been found to actually have a lower overall Passmark Disk Mark than the iPhone 6S 64GB.

Well I just bought (waiting for arrival) of my new PC. While I should have done this before I got the parts, I still want feedback on what I got. Hopefully nothing is terribly bad. Hi! Quick (newb) question here, I've started to look for a cheap laptop for a relative, for a light use (internet navigation, Netflix, light Word/Excel…) with Windows 10, and while I’m was looking at the specs, I’m was a bit shocked to see several computers sold in the 200–450$CAD price range with only a 32 GB eMMC hard drive. While I can understand those manufacturers want to use an eMMC hard drive to save on costs, get better performances, and improve battery life, it seems odd to me 32 Gb is a decent size for a Win 10, while usually the OS takes about 15 GB, more or less. I have the feeling those manufactures just want to compete (on the price point) with Chromebooks but using Win 10, and ignoring the usability. In fact, I have seen one of those computer on display in a brick and mortar store, and I have checked the available space: 9.9 GB. I guess I can save some space by removing some bloatware, but even with that, I guess I will lose those space gains by installing MS Word/Excel. So, even if the user does not store personal files on an SD card, do you think in the long run (2–3 …4 years), the user (BTW, not a power user) is going to run into problems or get caught in a bottle neck, having to run the tool to clean up the drive on a regular basis (and guess who will have to do that…) using those 32 GB hard drive configuration with Windows 10. I do believe a plain old 500 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive is a better option, despite the slower speed and higher energy consumption in this use case? And do I am wrong by thinking 32 GB hard drive laptops is like smartphones with 8 GB of storage space, both a bad thing for the consumer? Thanks!

Hello internet Have pretty much decided to go all out, bite the bullet and make a pc to last as my MSI GT70 0ND laptop motherboard died after 5.5 years of loyal service. Trying to maximise the money spent onto the GPU and cut costs elsewhere with minimal performance hit.https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/307808/Gaming%20PC Its intended for edtiting 4k drone footage and gaming at maximum settings in 1440p I know the ryzen chip (Ryzen 7 1700) will bottlekneck the 1080Ti a little bit in contrast to 7700k but im willing to take that 5-10fps hit and trade it for superior performance in multi threaded operations (like premier pro). Question 1. Does Memory really need to be "Ryzen Ready" for it to work and OC well on Ryzen? Oddly enough here in australia ryzen ready seems to be cheaper but limited in speed for the 2 x 16gb to 2400mhz... (I am buying all my stuff from PC Case Gear and i have already purchased my Noctis 450 and its in the post :D) Question 2. Will be able to OC the memory (need 32gb to do 4k video editing) to 3000mhz or just a little bit over to 2666mhz on a ASRock AB350 Gaming K4 Motherboard and thus make up the ground? This is the kithttps://www.pccasegear.com/products/38296/g-skill-flare-x-f4-2400c15d-32gfxr-2x16gb-ryzen-ddr4 Question 3. Am I better off getting a higher rated memory 4 X 8Gb kit even though its $50AUD more expensive than a 2400mhz? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36021/corsair-vengeance-led-cmu32gx4m4c3000c15r-32gb-4x8gb-ddr4 https://www.pccasegear.com/products/38296/g-skill-flare-x-f4-2400c15d-32gfxr-2x16gb-ryzen-ddr4 Question 4. Will my motherboard even go past the 2667mhz supported speed that its rated for on the AsRock website or do I need to go to x370 for that/ another mobo manufacturer? Is that worth the extra money? Question 5. At 1440p does memory speed matter so much as it does at 1080p? Can i get away with lower speed memory at a higher capacity for cheaper?

Hi, I want to start with saying that I'm new here. Sorry, if I do not know all the in's and out's of what I should include and exclude from the post. So a couple days ago I wanted to give my PC a little gift. I've been running the same setup for about a year now: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X i7 8700K clocked to 4,3GHz Asus Z370F Motherboard with a fresh BIOS update. Ballistix 2x8Gb RAM (BLS8G4D26BFSEK.8FBD) WD M.2 250Gb, WD 2Tb HDD, Seagate 2Tb HDD I wanted to switch out the 16Gb for a 32Gb kit. I ordered "Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200Mhz 32GB" Kit. It's 2x16Gb and the product number is CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16. I went about my stroll and switched them out in the exact same DIMM slots; A2 and B2. I enabled the XMP profile pushing them to 3200MHz. Then I watched some videos and had a look at the glorious amount of RAM in the taskmanager. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, in fact, I wanted to play some Apex and see if things still work. To my disappointment my game stuttered, absolutely crazy stuttering. FPS still shows around 100 FPS even in the middle of a stutterfest. After asking my roommate about some tips we decided to crosscheck all the different RAM's we have in the house. I gave my old DIMM's to my guy and he tested them on his system with the exact same settings I used to have and they worked flawlessly. We then tried the new ones in his system and they worked great, at the same time I tried using my older DIMM's with the settings I had for the new ones that caused stuttering. And they also worked just like before. So we switched it up and tried using just one DIMM. First we checked them in his system and then mine. In his they worked great, but in mine they caused stuttering. Both of them. He's got an older CPU i7 7700K. At this point I'm lost; I don't know what more to do and what more to check. In every forum I hoped could relate was only regarding people mixing different RAM sticks, which I haven't. And now I'm here. Any help or questions is greatly appreciated. Help me get my game on!

Hi, does anyone know what the difference between PCx-xxxxxU and PCx-xxxxx without the u is please? I've looked at all the specs, everything is identical, except the u version is newer and slightly more expensive. computeruniverse.net/en/gskill-trident-z-32gb-ddr4-k2-2x16gb-ram computeruniverse.net/en/gskill-trident-z-32gb-ddr4-k2-16gbx2-ram

laptop I need a laptop with 32gb of ram for work
Zan8lele posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hi, i need a laptop with 32gb of memory because i need to do simulations and run virtual machines, often at the same time. The question is, is it pointless to search for one with the 32gb pre installed or not? If not does someone have any suggestions? Buying one and then sticking a couple of 16gb sticks is an option too. -

Hey, im building a new high end pc for 240fps 1920x1080 gaming. And i was wondering, that can i save some money at some specs and are these specs down below good enough for 240fps 1920x1080 gaming. Links to the specs are at the very bottom of this post. I mainly play apex, and fortnite, but i know, that i can run fortnite 240fps easily, apex is what i am worrying about. Hey guys, I do a lot of video editing, so I want to upgrade my RAM of 16gb to 32gb. I found something that could work with my pc, however I´m not sure if it´s able to use its full capacity. In the attachment a picture of my system that also says DDR4-2400 The product I want to install however has 3600mhz. Does the picture of my system tell me there´s no way I can use the full 3600mhz, or is there someway I can overclock so I actually can. Thanks in advance!

So I have a wallpaper that shows my ram usage, and noticed it would fill up rather a lot considering I have 32 GB. I checked my system info and it shows i have 16 GB. I reinstalled my ram sticks, while it registers both, it shows one only has 64 MB while the other has 16 GB. Any clue why it registers like this?

Hello!! I need a 32GB (2x16gb) 3200mhz RAM compatible with an ASUS ROG Strix X470-I Gaming Motherboard (Ryzen 7 2700X). Been reading everywhere and see that not all rams will be running at the advertised mhz because of the Ryzen cpu. Can someone share with me which ram stick I should get for less than USD$370 with the best compatibility? Thankss!!

I currently have 16gb of some pretty awesome ram (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232181) and am buying 16gb of cheaper ddr4 ram (https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-Single-PC4-21300-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B01N5P755B/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1543263660&sr=1-2&keywords=8gb%2Bddr4&th=1) with worse clocks and timings and all that. If I try to combine them later on for 32 gb of ram, would my good ram have to under perform to work well with the worse ram?

I now have two sticks of 16gb (2x8) corsair vengeance rgb pro 3600mhz. Is it possible to buy two more of the same corsair ram to make it 32 gb instead of buying 32gb (2x16gb or 4x8gb) of ram and not using the 16gb that I already have?

I've had an idea. I have 32gb (4x8) of ram meaning I don't really need a page file, but if I disable my page file some old (and broken) applications will either fail to run or have very poor performance. So what if I set a ramdisk to allocate my pagefile directly to my ram? This way my pagefile will have the same performance as my actual ram, instead of running off of slower storage! Will this work and could this cause any issues if I go ahead with it?
