If I were to buy one of these and power isn’t an issue which should I get? And are there any significant differences?

Hey guys. My specs are:- xeon x5660 (better than even the i7 3770, cinebench score is 710) xfx r9 270x 2gb and 8gb ram (4gb x2). I can push to high settings on every game but in apex legends, even if I lower the rest to 900p and other settings at lowest, I don't get solid 60 fps. It's like 10-15 in air and 40-50 on ground with spikes dropping to 25fps. I've updated the drivers and the game. The worst part is that people with the same gpu worst cpus than mine play on better graphics and get much better results even though they're recording the gameplay. Take a look at these videos for ref https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjSFp9TueAA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQisZzYRVes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErfocfpqIZ4 This is really frustrating please help

I currently have an i3 2120 and an R7 250 in whch the GPU is showing it's age and I am thinking of buying an R9 270x but will it bottleneck my i3?

There's this guy who's selling me a used xfx r9 270x 2gb for about 105$. My question is that should I get that? is an r9 270x worth it in these times? how long will it last me if I only play games like call of duty at 1080p at mid settings? should I get a rx 460 2gb instead which would cost me about 130$? rx 560 costs 150$ here so that's out of budget. GPU prices here in Pakistan are accross the roof not only because of mining but also because the $ keeps on getting higher while our currency keeps dropping :'(

Hi all, long time Linus subscriber, first time posting (and sadly not bragging) This is the second PC Tower I have built. After building my first AMD 64x Dual Core tower in 2007 and learning about computers similar to how Linus grew up with PC's I tried to future proof this system a few years ago. This tower still holds up great with everything, starting to think about a complete upgrade when the time is right. I saw on Facebook today that Linus was dusting off an old PC so I decided to give mine a dusting too. I take my PC to my mates about twice a week so cable management is non-existing. ----Tower---- Full Size Tower - In Win GR one Motherboard - Intel DH67CL Media Series CPU - Intel i7 3770 RAM - 16GB Corsair 1333mhz (4x4GB) GPU 16x - ASUS Nvidia 1050ti GPU 1x - ASUS Radeon R9 270X PCI Slot3 1x - PCI 2xSATA Port Adaptor OS Drive - Kingston HyperX Fury SSD 240GB Storage Drives - Internal - 750GB HDD Hot Swap - 1TB HDD+250GB HDD External - 2TB HDD USB3.0 PSU - Aerocool VX-750 Optical Drive - DVD+-RW # of Fans - 12 In total ----Accessories---- Monitors - Benq 27" RL2755 1080p - Benq 20" 720p - Dell 20" 720p Keyboard - Corsair K55 Mouse - Gamertech XM-5250 Mouse Pad - Logitech G240 Webcam - Logitech C922 Speakers - Logitech X-230 2.1ch Headset - Logitech G430 Other - Bluetooth dongle WiFi dongle SD Card Reader

Hej guys i would like your help;) i just brought a msi r9 270x used. i tried to put it into my pc which already have an r9 390. but then the pc would just get stock after typing in windows pass. then i tried the 270x alone resulting in a white screen one time with display port and black screen with hdmi. then i put it into a second pc. here it started up after a little while. I then tried to install the amd drivers. it said that it found an amd card and started to install. but then suddenly during install properly when done , i just got a black screen and nothing more. my main pc runs fine with the r9 390 alone and my second pc also runs fine with its current gpu (gtx 750TI) hope somebody can help greetings Mads and sorry for bad english

Well on account of the GPU market right now my $1600 system is having to run with myt old R9 270x with a 180mhz OC. is it still viable? well in my experience so far yes. i can run alien isolation at 1080p resolution ultra setting and 2x super sampling at a nice and crisp 80-90fps with lows rarely dropping into the mid 70's.on a game as big as ARMA 3 i hover around 40-50 fps on average with ulra setting once again. The division on medium setting looks fairly well and the average fps i got was between 50-60. now i know these games are a bit older but for an older midrange card as the 270x i was very shocked with the performance i have seen so far. lemme know what yall think about this card and any other benchmarks you may have. farewell and hopefully your old cards treat you well and if you are looking into upgrading in this market take a step back and look at some older cards you may be shocked with their performance.

Hey guys, so I built a PC for my dad two moths ago with the following specs: i5 6400 MSI b150m mobo Corsair vs650 (used) R7 270x (used) Corsair 100r with an additional fan The rest should not be of any importance for the problem. All the used parts were used by my brother or me before, so they are perfectly fine. Everything worked fine for two months, but after a recent driver update (unfortunately my dad does not remember what exactly has been updated) Star Wars Battlefront keeps crashing randomly. Sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours of playing. The rest of his PC keeps working and when he shuts down the game in the task manager, everything goes back to normal. He always gets the following crash report(that I have never seen before): Updating and reinstalling the drivers of the graphics card didn't work... Do I have to reinstall directx? Is that even possible? A little note (might be useless information, but maybe it's important): HWMonitor displays the card as a R9 370, even though every other application says it is a 200-series card. It is most likely because of HWMonitor, but who knows. If you have any ideas, let me know. I really have no idea what to do... Already thanks to you guys

I have the Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 4gb Dual-x graphics card and I was wondering what a safe voltage is for overclocking. At 105% stock voltage, or 1.225 volts, I have gotten a stable gpu clock of 1120 and have not yet started to overclock memory. The whole point of this post is to ask what is a safe voltage for overclocking, if I wanted to overclock further. Thermals should not be an issue for me, so let me know what voltages some of you guys are running at.

Just got another 270x from a friend and as i tried to put my new aquired gpu into my sistem i realized that my psu, a corsair ax750, doesn't have another 12 to 2x8 pin attachment ... My psu have 3x12 pin attachments, 1 is connected to an 8 pin eps on the mobo, 1 is connected to another 4 pin eps on the mobo and the last one is connected to 2x8pin on the already attached gpu... How can i connect my 2nd gpu ?

vram Not recognizing correct amount of VRAM, Need help!
EpelepticMoon posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello! I have a "Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4GB" graphics card, and as the name suggestes, it has 4gb of VRAM, however my computer only recognizes 2GB. I've had the PC for over a year now, but I always thought that (this is going to sound very stupid) it split the vram over my 2 monitors, but after a long argument with a friend he convinced me that this was wrong. The strange thing is that, in the AMD control center thingy, it says theres only 2GB. (Supporting the theory i used to have) But to certain once and for all, i went into the BIOS to see what it said. Here's the really weird thing, it said there was 4GB. I have already updated all the drivers for my GPU, and now I'm just clueless. All help is appreciated! --- EDIT --- For those interested, i think i found the reason. And its a proper facepalm reason, when i recently upgraded my GPU, i noticed that one of the power connectors for the 270X werent even plugged in. So its been running at 50% power all this time, which is unbelivable, but it explains all the problems i've been having with it. -
Hello guys, it's been awhile since I've stopped by here! This time i brought all y'all a puzzle. I want to upgrade my GPU tho my current setup is limiting my options significantly. I have the following ATM: ASUS m4a87td mobo (don't worry about it) AMD Phenom II x4 965BE - 125 W 4GBx2 Corsair Vengeance 1600 (running 1333) RAM SAMSUNG 840 PRO SSD 128GB 4 normal and 3 LED fans (will make sense in a second) (120 & 140 mm) GPU AMD R9 270X GIGABYTE WINDFORCE (the one with 3 fans) aaaaaaaaaaaaand the PSU: Corsair CX 430W I've hooked up my GPU via an adapter, because the PSU only has one 6 pin, and i need two to run the 270X. For these questions act like i don't want to upgrade my PSU!: 1. is there a card out there that has better performance than the 270X for the same wattage requirements. (so my PC won't catch on file) 2. If there is, can i hook it up to my PC with MAX 2 6pins, preferably just one. 3. If i can get both 1&2, Is the performance gain going to be significant enough to even bother. 4. Can the GPU support new features like Nvidia's shadowplay or AMD freesync (those are the ones I'm interested in). If the current build i have is probably the maximum I'm going to get out of this PSU, here are some other questions for ya: 5. What PSU wattage should i target for, let's say a R9 290X. 6. Can i sell my PSU&GPU and get a new pair for around 50$ more that is going to be a meaningful upgrade. 7. Should i run out and by a new PSU right away because my PC is going to iginte at any moment now? (off topic but interesting non the less) PS: The PC is stable and is running 2-3 years now with minor problems here and there, like very rare random freezes at startup.

Would me getting a GTX 750 Ti be an upgrade? I currently have a R9 270x in my system and its not doing so well, my friend recently got a GTX 750 Ti, and he said its great and he runs MGS5 on it no problem. So i was wondering if that would be an upgrade? Or do you think it would more benefit my HTPC running AMD A10-7850k?

Hey guys, So i have a MSI R9 270x in my system, i need to get rid of it and upgrade, sadly i dont have much. And my motherboard doesnt have onboard Graphics. I want to wait for Pascal and see what they will have. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've always hated my R9 270x from the day I got it. Not sure why but it never performed to the standards I was expecting, yet at the time everyone made it out to be fantastic. I've been wanting a new graphics card for a long time, so much that I even bought a 7990 off ebay the other day while I was drunk (I managed to cancel the order). I'm not sure if I should wait for the new line up from AMD to come out before I buy a new one. Should I upgrade my graphics card now and if so what should I go for? I don't particularly mind buying second-hand as sometimes the price/performance just makes sense. Here's some details: I run two 1080p monitors. Do some graphic and web design. Play a lot of games (Rise of the Tomb Raider is my next). Sculpting in ZBrush. I use Maya. I also use Unreal 4 on occasion.

I've got a bit of an odd one here so I'll give you a bit of back-story. So maybe 2 years back my brand new pc just straight up explodes right next to me, flames and all. Sad times, all caused by a cheap PSU and a lack of surge protection. Lesson learned. Fast forward a bit, I earned enough money to buy a new mobo, ram, hard drives, ssd and all except for my R9 270x which miraculously survived that power surge. Now finally, here's my problem. Recently my computer has started to just completely freeze out of nowhere, no blue screen, no errors or anything. When rebooted everything launches fine as if nothing ever happened. This isn't even something that happens for any observable reason yet something tells me it has to be the GPU, since it's the only component I have from when everything surged. I've run some stress tests such as Unigine Heaven, and MSI Kombustor but I get no problems. What's going on?

Hi guys, I have an FX8350 and a 270x with 16gb of ram and was wondering who runs the same config. I would like to know if it's worth getting another 270x and running crossfire or getting rid of it and getting one card ??? If the answer is one card, what should it be as I only game in 1080p.

Hi, I am wondering if my MSI R9 270X is worth upgrading to an MSI R9 390. I play at 1440p and the 270X gets usually between 45-55 fps on high. I am wondering if the 390 is going to be a big performance difference or if I should just save up a little more and get a better card, maybe a 980 ti! I know most of you are going to say get the 980ti but I really want a new card that I don't have to spend every dollar I have on. My build is a i7-4790k at stock, an EVGA G2 850w, an an msi z97 gaming 5 mobo. Let me know if you need anything else! Thanks!

Wondering if anyone has managed to modify the Sapphire R9 270x Toxic edition? I'm looking to change the colour of the LED logo to a white instead of bright orange. I'm also going to be spraying it white to match my black and white build so I feel like this would really set it off. So does anyone have experience with this card in terms of modding is aesthetically? It looks like the LED is lit up with a plastic or glass bar, but I'm not too sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks:) Connor

I recently got into folding about 3 days ago, and I've had non-stop problems with my R9 270X. It always has 8+ days left on it's work load, and that doesn't change even while letting it run over night. My CPU is folding perfectly fine, and has already finished quite a few work loads. I've been using MSI Afterburner to check it's usage, and it's never gone above 4% GPU usage. At first, I was trying to use the 270X as a card just for folding while I used my 780 to do everything else I do on my computer, but nothing could seem to get the 270X to want to fold. (Note: I have all the latest drivers for it, (Version 9.14.10.01128), so that can't be an issue, can it?) To test if the card actually was working, I lunched bitminter to let it mine for a bit to see if that got it's GPU usage up, and I did. right after I clicked start, the usage Shot up to 100% After this, I decided to just take the 780 out to see if that was the issue. Nope... With just the 270X in, it still wont fold. Deciding to finally give up, I'm asking you guys. Does the 270X have an issue with folding? Do I need a certan driver version? Or is there some settings I need to change to get this card to co-operate? Anything helps. Thanks In advance
