Hey folks so i dabbled a bit more into overclocking my ryzen 2600x just because i felt like it. always had it at 4.1 but i brought it to 4.2 all core oc. but it is doing this on 1.45. Should i try and get this lower? Or does this not bother the cpu so much? i know that ryzen 2000 series can go up to 1.5 orso right? Temps are good btw. when doing cinebench it keeps getting roughly 72c. and when gaming around 52/55c.

I'm building my first system with emulation in mind, and I'm curious what emulators will run on my Ryzen 5 2600X. I know the easy stuff will run (NES, SNES, Genesis, N46, PS, etc.) but I'm curious about my ability to run more difficult emulators like CEMU (Wii U), Citra (3DS), PCSX2 (PS2), and RPCS3 (PS3). Whatever it can run I'll be happy with, since my current laptop can't even run Dolphin! Also maybe mention what settings I'd be able to run them at. Here's my PC Park Picker list. Thanks!

Hello, all. I'm approaching build day for my first build, and I've been getting interested in overclocking my chip. I have a Ryzen 5 2600X cooled by a Hyper 212 Black Edition. What kinds of overclocks would I be looking at?
-
Among these two variant which one is better? For mid gaming and high work station purpose? Its price difference is 6$....
-
The 2600 has a base clock of 3.4 GHz and a max boost of 3.9 GHz The 2600x has a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a max boost of 4.2 GHz For a $20 difference (as of Sep. 2019) is the 2600x a better buy if I want to over clock and have just a better time overall with it. And if I do over clock will it make much of a difference in cpu heavy games?
-
I'm considering a new build and am torn between the 2600 and the 2600x. There's a £50 difference in price and I'm conscious that I may well want to upgrade to next year's offering. How reliably does the 2600 overclock - what sort of results are you guys getting? I have a NH-D15 so I don't think thermals will be a problem. Half the advice I've read thus far suggests that all 2600s will hit 4.2 with no problem. The other half suggests I might be lucky to get 4! Any advice very much appreciated.

After what is now almost six years of using a laptop with GT 650M, I've decided to do an upgrade, a big one. I am planning to buy 2600X and pair it with GTX 1070Ti. My first intentions were to buy Turing once it comes out. However it just isn't what I was hoping for and those prices, I don't even want to talk about that. Yes, ray tracing does look good, but that is kinda useless when you cant afford it.:D. So I quickly reopted to Pascal and I think that 1070Ti is a card worth buying. Since I want to do some 3D and videoediting besides gaming, AMD is better choice for me, especially now, when prices of Intel CPUs are so inflated I've already bought the mobo, because I got a good deal on it - I got the AIO gratis with it. There are also some other things I want to discuss. I am still not sure if I should buy the GPU now. 2070 benchmarks are just around the corner so I'll wait at least for that. However there are also rumours about yet another Polaris refresh, that could maybe lower the prices just a bit. Or maybe the prices will rise owing to US tariffs - I know that EU isn't directly affected by them, but what if manufacturers decide to increase prices here too by few percent to make the difference between EU and US smaller? I was also thinking about waiting till 7nm GPUs arrive. Like getting something really cheap now and upgrade next year. On the other hand I really don't want to wait any longer. Almost every day I see a game coming out which I'd like to play but my PC can't handle it. So, that's basically it. What do you guys think?

Im newbie when it comes to PC hardware, all i have is extensive googling and reading. Im ordering a new machine soon with the following spec: 2600x, 16gb RAM, 650w psu, 1070 ti gpu, phanteks enthoo pro m, b450 tomahawk, 1tb hdd, 500gb sdd. With it being a Ryzen and me being a newbie id like to be able to take fuil of advantage of the auto OC features like precision boost and xfr, ive read that doing this will increase temps a lot and its performance is also restricted by your cooling. With this in mind id like to have adequate cooling. My budget is stretched so i cannot afford high end coolers right now. I will be using the stock Wraith Spire cooler and adding 4 or 5 120mm fans if possible to the case as it only comes with 1x 140mm at the back but can apparently support 3 up top (120mm) and 2 at front (120mm). Will the Spire and fans be enough to keep it cool enough to allow pob2/xfr to fully do its thing? Or should i seriously consider an after market cpu cooler? Again i dont want to have to tamper with the bios too much myself as im a total newbie, i want to let Ryzen do it for me, this is one of my main reasons im purchasing a 2600x. Im skeptical because i see a lot of hype train stuff about Spire, a lot of people i question if they have even used it personally, but i see a lot of people that actually own it give honest feedback and state that while its good and performs ok it does end up being throttled by your cooling if you using xfr/pob2 etc. Id like to get the most out of it rather than be throttled by poor cooling. Off topic id also like to ask if id be better off with a different case perhaps thats around the same price spec. I do really like the look of this case for the price though, seems to have solid reviews but i do not plan to add water cooling any timing soon so perhaps its not the best choice? I was considering Fractal Meshify C also. Budget is stretched so case options are limited. Edit: Quick final question, ive read great things about Tomahawk so i settled on it but is it a good choice considering that i want to let Ryzen get the most out of its auto OC features? Do i NEED an x mobo or will Tomahawk be fine?

My friend currently has a 2500k at 4.6ghz with a gtx 980. He plays games like PUBG, CSGO, Overwatch and Fornite. Is it worth it for him to upgrade from a 2500k to a 2600x? What do you guys think? Saw some benchmarks on youtube, seems like a 30fps difference in games.

So my ryzen 5 2600x with the stock cooler ( I plan on upgrading) is running around 68 deg C when playing most games but tends to get to 72 when playing BF5 and other higher end games, I am going to upgrade but I wasn’t going to for a little while, should I allow my cpu to hit these temps for another month or 2 or upgrade to a liquid cooler now and if so what is the best “budget” liquid cooling system

1. Budget & Location 1500 USD, Hyderabad (INDIA). Can increase the budget to $1800 and my current build on PCPartPicker list translates to almost same (as per Indian rupees conversion). Can buy from these places: https://www.amazon.in/ https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en http://mdcomputers.in/ https://www.flipkart.com/ 2. Aim No gaming No OCing 12-15 hours a day usage Browser is open with 10-15 tabs in each window and 2-4 separate windows Programming/Coding Using Jupyter Lab Data Science and Machine Learning Watching 1080p videos Streaming 1080p videos through YouTube etc. Surfing/Searching on internet. 3. Monitors I just use one monitor. 1080p will be fine. 4. Peripherals Already ordered Mouse+keyboard (Logitech MK200) 5. Why are you upgrading? I have a 10 years old computer, AMD Athlon II X3 440 and it struggles to run Jupyter Lab I mentioned above and sometimes CPU usage goes 100% and it becomes unresponsive for 10-20 min when it comes to opening video streaming sites like YouTube. Its PSU has died already and keyboard and mouse are dying too. This is my 4th keyboard because I do programming, hence lot of typing. Monitor got some 2 inches sized 3 circular black spots in left corner. Used it a lot. Antec 300 Case I have, its buttons, even though I have lubricated many times, have gotten extremely rough now. So want to just upgrade.

So my new cpu has arived and I noticed it has some sort of marks on ihs. I was wandering if any of you have any ideas what they could be. I haven't taken it out of the box jet, but im sore that the marks are on cpu and not on the plastic cover.

Hey, and thanks for taking the time to read this, I am soon building my first pc (around christmas), and would like an opinion of more experienced people on this build. What I am (probably) getting: ( A red and Black build) CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X Mobo: MSI X470 Gaming Pro RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED Red 16 Gigabytes GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Ti Gaming 8G (Not because it has gaming in the name, just because its red and black, with a backplate) Cooler: Cooler Master Masterliquid 240 SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB HDD: Have one already, (Samsung 1.5TB HDD) Case: Cooler Master Masterbox 5 Lite RGB PSU : Corsair CX550 Il be playing on a 1080p TV (Dont know exact inch diameter, i believe 52) because I can get it for free, I am hoping to get a stable 60+ FPS on 1080p on high/max setting, I will mostly play games like Guns of Icarus Online and Rust, with some indies. My budget is about €1250 euro's I hope you guys like the selection I made, and please, if there is anything bad, Please say it! Have a nice day!

Apologies to the mods, I'm new here and I thought since the problem can't be narrowed down at the moment, I thought I'd post under the Windows 10 board. I've moved to a new PC and onto Windows 10 for the first time. I've had issues since day one. I had recurring BSODs and turned out that the RAM I was using was incompatible with Ryzen. So, I switched it out for one on the approved list, so the BSODs stopped but everything is laggy and unresponsive now. Be it gaming or work, both of which I do from my desktop. I use a proprietary cloud app that runs over Chrome for my subtitling work and I can have word docs or PDFs open. Everything will stop and take a few seconds to respond when I try to switch from one app to another or even just hit the cortana button or the start button. Selecting text takes a while and sometimes, even the text tends to appear onscreen with a lag as I type. Games have a similar issue. Everything will come to a halt for something to load in the background(though I can't see any assets loading that's visible) The problem is most acute in Dark Souls 2. Though it exists to varying degrees in Burnout Remastered and the Witcher 3 as well. I haven't got any other games installed at the moment. I moved from an seven year old PC running Windows 7 to this. And while the old PC had it's issues it never behaved this way. I've used all the same apps and games on it as well. The graphic card being the only constant. For possible clues, I've noticed that the response times, as indicated by the task manager, can shoot up to thousands of milliseconds for the SSD which is my primary drive. Windows 10 is also always stuck pending install of the same update. I've reset the PC three times now in the last three weeks since building it. I've also heard Ryzen needs a specific power profile and it can cause issues if it isn't using that profile. Driver conflict is one thing that's been nagging me and the back of my mind. Specs: Ryzen 2600X MSI X470 Gaming Plus mobo Corsair Vengeance-2400hz-A single 16 gb stick Gigabyte GTX960(6gb of VRAM) Kingston 480 GB SSD Seagate 2TB HDD WD 1TB HDD(My old Win 7 drive) Zebronics 650W PSU Win 10 x64 Pro Thanks in advance to any insights. I wanted to post screenshots from CPU-Z and my BIOS settings but I'm in the middle of several deadlines right now and I will try to post any requested info ASAP. Update: 1) If the issue is with my SSD, primary drive, how can I be sure? 2) Some people have suggested that my single channel frequency and RAM frequency could be the issue. Can anyone please suggest a more ideal config? Preferably not too expensive. Update 2: The problem was with Windows update constantly performing write operations on the SSD and being stuck in a loop.

uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/kearnel/saved/Qz7sZL First build - do you think this PSU will do the job, or should I go for a 500W? I am not considering overclocking at all. (Also some mid tower case recommendations would help me out a lot!)

these setups? Setups Budget is around 1000€. I'd be primary using it for video editing, at some point 4k also. I would blindly go for the better setup of these two but the price difference is 388 €.. Eventually some gaming also maybe, I have a Samsung U28E590D (4K 60hz), but I never play ultra graphics anything so could the 1060 handle it? Every answer will be much appreciated.

system: asus b450i - MSI rx580 8GB - ryzen 2600X - 16GB corsair 3200mhz - 512GB Crucial SSD this problem started happening about 2 weeks ago, while playing simple games like Fall Guys and League of legends the framerate will tank for about 1-2 seconds. during this time the CPU is nowhere near full usage but the GPU will plummet down to 0%. i have updated every driver on the system, did a thorough ram test, swapped graphics cards to a gtx 1050, clean install of windows, double checked all temps (none exceeded 75C even while slamming them in Furmark, most were well below) yet nothing has been able to remedy the situation. the stutters are quite common and even occurred while I typed this message. Though they are much more noticeable during game-play. (no Overclocks, though the ram is technically factory overclocked \^.- ) Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi I currently have a stock amd cooler, what would be the best cooler (that isn't really expensive ) I could get. I don't mind about the noise as I have a Vega 56 and it sounds like it's going to take off.

So I was having some blue screen issues which seemed like bad gpu drivers so I completely re installed them it seemed to fix my blue screen issues. Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out firstly why the EDC on my Ryzen 5 2600X is constantly in the 90-99% range. I've tried all the power plans (even ryzen balanced) and still can't seem to get it down. Secondly i'm having trouble getting more than 142 fps in csgo. I've seen others test the 2600X and getting 200+ fps. Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X MB: Aorus Elite B450 (bios F41) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000MHz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super (driver 446.14) It should also be noted that i checked the drivers and they should all be up to date. TIA
