So i'm looking at buying a 2070 super, but don't know who to buy it from. I like my strix card now, its an rx480 though. I'm just wondering, what your recommendations are with the aftermarket cards. I'm definitely leaning towards asus but im not too sure if there's any 1 that will be set apart from the other competitors.

With DLSS 2.0 being released and the ability to upscale from lower resolution with minimal loss in quality, the 2070 should soon be able to keep up with the 5700 XT as it can render in a lower quality. In addition, it has the advantage of being able to leverage it's RT cores to provide Ray Tracing for future games - and with the new Xbox and PS supporting this too, we should see many new games have better implementation of ray tracing and current games being updated to support this (especially as DLSS 2.0 is no longer done by a per game requirement but rather globally by AI). My question is as both cards are similarly priced, despite the 5700 XT having better performance currently - does DLSS 2.0 and support for ray tracing and future games supporting it, mean that the better choice would be the 2070 especially as AMD confirmed only the new RDNA 2 cards later in the year will support hardware accelerated ray tracing. Do you think the 2070 will be able to sufficiently upscale while using ray tracing via DLSS 2.0 to outperform the 5700 XT? Thanks.

I have a 2070 SUPER paired with a Ryzen 2700x (Overclocked to 4.0 Ghz) with 16 GB 3200 RAM and I believe its under performing. For some reason whenever I try to overclock my GPU with MSI Afterburner it seems to crash games quite often. So I left it at default settings. When I use Userbenchmark to benchmark my system it always tells me my GPU is underperforming If you know a fix to this that would be awesome! Thanks!

So today i played warzone, and took a look at my nzxt cam to monitor the temperature but what i noticed. Is that my gpu core clock when to a boost of 1975mhz. But i did nothing with overclocking! The standard should be 1635mhz with boost up to 1800mhz. I also have the asus rog strix z390e gaming and i enabled xmp profile 1 to boost my memory, but nothing has beem changed for the gpu. How can this happen. When j restart the computer the core clock of the gpu goes back to 1635mhz but as soon as i start cod warzone it goes up to the 1975mhz. With kind regards, DevYeray

So I've been having this problem for a few months now and never fixed it. I'm not sure whats going on or anything but nobody has been able to help yet. I have a Zotac 2070 SUPER Mini Ryzen 7 2700x CPU 16 GB 3600 Mhz (Put it at 3200 because I had some issues at 3600) Gigabyte x570 Gaming X Motherboard. Corsair 850 W Gold PSU I tried benchmarking my CPU with Cinebench R20 at around 4420 points and it said it was performing worse than a 1700X by about 120ish points. I used Userbenchmark for my GPU (I know its not the best for benchmarking but I know its underperforming anyways) and it said below expectations. I'm not getting low usage on either off them or high temps so cant be any thermal throttling I don't think. I don't have anything overclocked and if I tried to OC my GPU games either crash or I get worse performance. When I try to OC my CPU It just makes everything under perform even more. I only had my pc since early - mid October 2019 so it's not an old rig. If anyone could help that would be amazing.

Hi everyone! First of all thanks for letting me join the group.. I have a bit of a dilemma.. I had a i7 3770 with a GTX 1070 and a CX650M PSU. Really worked well but I had to upgrade the processor as it was struggling a little, I went with a MSI B450 tomahawk max and new 3200mhz Corsair lpx ram (16gb) and a R5 2600x. I know the cpu maybe a little weak but at least I can upgrade it in the future when I can afford to. I sold my old pc bits and bought a Rx 5700 xt as it sounded like a good idea at the time and had nothing but issues. Black screen and red light on my motherboard so I send it back. In the meantime I sold my old GTX 1070 (MSI armour) I am awaiting my refund and decided I want to go back to Nvidia but I'm torn between buying the RTX 2070 super or the extra for the 2080 super. I always like playing on 1440p on the highest settings I can, my 1070 did do very well I have a 75hz monitor and for the most part I was getting above 60fps when the Rx 5700 xt worked I was very happy with it's performance. I am a little worried about my PSU tho.. I know the recommended is 650w for the 2080s and that's what I have but I don't know what's best to buy as I really can't afford a 2080s and a new PSU so do I.. Buy the 2080s and 650w will be fine or do I go with the 2070s and I'm prety sure my PSU is ok? I'm trying to get the maximum time out of my pc as it's took a lot to be able to upgrade it so don't think I'll be upgrading for a long while, maybe a better CPU in the future when the current 3000 series comes down in price a bit. Thanks for any advice I really appreciate it. I've watched several yt videos on the cards and apparently the 2080s is only about 10% faster but I'm guessing that it will be more future proof

Hello, I just upgraded my old GTX 970 to a beastly GB 2070 Super gaming OC 3X, but I don't get the same FPS in games as in the youtube videos or scores in sites. Benchmarks however, score how they should. One weird thing is that my CPU is at 100% in almost all games. A bottleneck, you would say. But I have a i5-8600k @4.8Ghz, so a bottleneck seems odd to me. I might be wrong. Then there's my friend, who also has a 2070 super and pairs it with an i7-7700. But he has about 10-20 more FPS than me in games, benchmark scores are the same (using superposition as benchmark). When playing BF5 we both have 100% CPU usage. My GPU however is only at 50-60 usage while his is at 70-80. In the witcher 3, he has 70% CPU usage and I have 100%. Also a 20 FPS difference (in the same areas, with the same graphics). Does anyone here have any idea how/why this is happening. Thanks in advance!

So I'm looking to finally upgrade my GPU from an old GTX 1060 3gb to a new RTX 2070s 6gb, but I'm worried about my PSU now being strong enough. Is an Evga 500w white, and when I look up answers I'm getting very mixed responses on if its enough. what makes it worse is the amazon page doesn't say a required power amount so in kinda in the dark. so could someone please help me and if it's definitely not enough could you suggest a new PSU? Here is the PSU in question: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01E4YRP8W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And here is the GPU in question: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-GeForce-2070-Super-WINDFORCE/dp/B07X51LTKK/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&th=1 I have seen on other forums people wanting to know the other parts of the pc to give an answer so here it is as follows: Intel i7700k GTX 1060 3gb Evga 500w 100-W1-0500-K3 Kingston Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) Seagate SSHD 7200RPM 3.5" 1TB Seagate Ironwolf 7200RPM 3.5" 8TB Thanks

Is it possible that let's say, the asus ROG strix RTX 2070 Super OC is stronger than the weakest 2080 Strix or the founders edition? Or isn't it possible to beat the higher number until it is a Ti or so?

Started my first build, but I'm having trouble with the gpu. It doesnt want to click into place, everything seems to be seated correctly and it slid in, but it doesnt click in and I'm able to just pull it back out I uploaded a pic to show what I'm looking at lol it looks like it's in, but I can't tell if the lock is engaged. I shouldn't be able to just pull it out right? Mobo: msi x570 gaming edge wifi GPU: msi rtx 2070 super Case: gamdias talos p1a

So, first topic and post on this forum. Love LTT BTW! Recently I had bent over to nVidia and purchased an RTX 2070 super. I decided, since I don't trust delivery trucks coming to my place with a piece of hardware worth a couple days of their salary, I went to my local BestBuy. I had researched for about a week, checking news etc on the 5700 xt, and settled to buy the vid card in the topic. My card I upgraded from? An RX 480 8gb card from Gigabyte (G1 series?). It was night and day. Install was just plug and play, no driver tweeks, glitches any of the nonsense I avoided that goes on with 5700 XTs (plus my 2070S can play Squad). So, I was like 'I have my system in an old HAF from about 10 years ago with huge fans, CPU watercooled...could I overclock it?' Yes it comes factory OCed; somewhere around 1950Mhz or so. I wanted to push it harder...but how hard? I don't know because I never overclocked an nVidia card before. After reading on how to do it and inching it up using MSI Kombustor as my test (pegs usage so best bench) I hit payday! Here is a snapshot of my card and I want you to see the overclocks I got. I made an aggressive fan curve that keeps it, under FULL load, under 60c! The test pictured is how I have been running my super for the last 3 weeks and she handles it all like a champ! So, I have been searching on the internet for what the fastest OC on air is for this card, to no avail! People who have 2070S cards, please tell me what your fastest clocks are (stable)! System RN: Ryzen 5 1600 (non-x) 3.724 Ghz OCed (Corsair H60 AIO) 16 Gb DDR4 PNY 2666Mhz (2x8Gb) @ 2998Mhz MSI RTX 2070 Super Ventus OC 8Gb MSI Tomohawk B350 mobo 2x Pny 128Gb SSDs 1x 1TB WD Green 7200RPM sata 1x 2TB WD Blue 7200RPM sata OCZ 750Watt Fatal1ty Modular PSU Old as Dirt Coolermaster HAF with a quarter panel window (odd thing, found 1 example online [circa 2008/2009??]) LG Ultrawide 29UM59-A Razer Deathstalker Logitech G602 Razer Kraken headset @Linus

Hi, So I have recently purchased a RTX 2070 Super (the Gigabyte Windforce OC 3X 8G - GV-N207SWF3OC-8GD model) and used MSI Afterburner to overclock it. I didn't really find somewhere a comprehensive forum that compares OC results for this card but I have found some user reports here and there and I am a little bit surprised with my results (in a good way). When I look at the clock speed during a game (Shadow of the Tomb Raider for instance) or run a benchmark I have the following results: Running at stock speed without any overclock I reach and cruise at 1905 MHz --> That seems pretty higher that what I have seen from other users With an overclock I can reach a cruise clock speed of 2130 MHz . This is with a core clock of +140 and memory clock of +900 . I can push it a bit more while still being stable but I noticed that my core clock speed won't increase above 2130 MHz Again, this seems a bit higher than what I've seen from other users. Anyone on this forum have had similar results or would know whay there seems to be some big differences ? Thanks,

Im kinda building a PC, I plan on getting a kind of higher end one. I want a 2070 super, but im not sure whichhe to get. The gigabyte 2070 super windforce OC 2X( 2 fans). Or the 3x(3 fans). Does it affect the performance? Or just temps, does that matter long term short term? Also if im getting a Ryzen 7 3700X should i use AIO or get like the Artic. Hi everyone, I would like to overclock my 2070 Super's ram. I launched an OC Scanner which tells me that I can oc the GPU by 75mhz but does not tell anything about the RAM. I was wondering how much I could OC it for a first try. Do I have to do a +100mhz then stress test and do it again or is there a "safe" bet I can go for ? I see that some do a +2.1Ghz on the ram ! That seems very high ! Thanks !

My only other option, to get the performance i want, is the 2070 SUPER and where i live it's way more expensive than the 5700 XT. Have all the terrible driver issues been ironed out by this point? If so, what's the current status of the drivers?

Hello, I recently installed an Asus Strix 2070 Super A8G. I upgraded from an Asus Strix RX 570 4BG OC Edition. I also added a brand new SSD to avoid any “old programs or software” from messing anything up. My PC specs are : Ryzen 5 1600 Stock Cooler Asus Strix B350-F Gaming Motherboard 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 8x4 Intel 660p Series SSD 1TB Asus Strix RTX 2070 Super A8G Rosewill Capstone M 550W Power Supply Using Minecraft as a reference because that’s the game I mostly played with my old GPU. On my RX 570 I was about to run 50 FPS with Optifine installed. No mods. Soldiers Shaders v1.262 Medium. And that’s all. Installing my new GPU with ssd. Installation was normal. Windows installed great. Everything working. Then I install GeForce Experience and try to update the drivers. It worked the 1st time but installing the same setup I used on my old GPU. I was getting 20fps no matter what I did. So I went back to GeForce Experience and reinstalled the drivers. Bad idea. I was hit with an Automatic Repair poop that would not fix anything. It did this 4 more times when trying to do the same thing. So I stopped downloading GeForce Experience and let windows update it. Everything works fine but for a $585 GPU. I’m still only running slightly better at 60 FPS with the same settings as before. Idk what the issue could be but ANY help would be great. I will try anything and everything to help make this purchase worth it. Because so far. I’ve been so far annoyed and disappointed in this. I’m weighing returning it to amazon. Please feel free to ask any questions for things I may have left out. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

So my friend recently built his first computer, everything went well and it booted first try. It's a Ryzen 7 3800x CPU, on an Asus ROG STRIX X570-F Mobo with an Asus RTX 2070 Super 8gb GPU in it. For some reason there are certain games which he gets noticeable frame drops in, What could be the cause of this? Bottlenecks or? Thanks beforehand! ? Edit: Forgot to mention that the CPU(when in a game) is at like 50% and the GPU is around 1-10%. Edit2: He tried to switch the slots of the two sticks of ram and now it seems to be running better

Hi, I'm new to these forums and to building PCs. I watch LinusTechTips and other channels for quite a while now, and now I'm going to do my first build. But I ran into a problem recently... I can't quite decided whether to get the RTX 2060S or 2070S. The 60 would cost me around 400€, and the 70 around 500€, and I'm thinking, is the 2070 really worth another 100 for what I'll be getting? I don't know, maybe I could use that money for a better keyboard or save it to buy a 144Hz monitor. I have a good 650W PSU so that wouldn't be a problem nor would be the processor. Thanks for any responses

Building a pc for use on a 1080p 144hz monitor with a Ryzen 3600. Is an EVGA 2070 Super overkill if i want RTX and I plan on playing Red Dead 2, Assassins Creed odyssey, Rainbow six siege, and Sekiro? Would I notice the difference switching to the cheaper EVGA 2060 Super

so i have a rog rtx 2070 super advanced (triple fan) and a 550w power supply (corsair sv 550) and ive been getting some fps drops in heavy games i don't know if its the power supply's fault or not ill list my specs now i7 7700 3.6 ghz, rog rtx 2070 super advanced, corsair sv 550 w, a gigabyte b250m - d2v motherboard 2 ssd's and an hhd and basically one fan in the case sorry for any spelling errors eng is a 2nd for me

Hi all, first post. Hope this is in the right section, I'm assuming it is. I recently bought a used 1080 TI for around 320$, and the temps were mid 80s, so I decided to get a kraken g12 and CPU AIO, which heavily reduced temps. Anyways, a few days later, the GPU died due to water residue on the back of the card (PC was left in car all day and froze is my best guess). I digress. I bought a GIGABYTE 2070 SUPER and the temps are much better, around 62 max with overclock. However, I've now got a bracket and AIO sitting around. Would it be worth it to install it? Or just sell it. If I should water cool it, do I need to put heat sinks on the tensor cores? Not sure how those work to be honest. I heat sinked most things on my last card but am not sure about the architecture on the new RTX cards. Thanks in advance.

Hey folks, 6 months ago I built myself a new setup including a Rtx 2070 Super. Now after all those months of a perfectly working system, I turned on my computer and suddenly had green dots all over my two monitors and had the Error Code 43 in my device manager plus the GPU didnt get recognized anymore. Since I can still use my warranty, I returned my graphics card and ordered a new one. Do you think this was a hardware problem which can suddenly occure? I heard that it could be a broken VRAM and it could happen with some RTX models... FYI: I‘ve never overclocked anything of my gear. And maybe if its still not working with the new GPU, do you have any idea what other part could be broken? Cheers Nick

Greetings, I have an issue I think it may be a bottleneck issue, while playing battlefield v my CPU util is always at 100%, GPU 60-80 I tried everything graphics-wise, tested the highest and the lowest yet I get the same low fps 30-80, am running the game at 2k, I tried lowering it same issue, so is there any ideas how to make the game playable? more like 60 stable fps at least, and thanks
