Hello (Graphics card) LTT forum, Hold on to your hat or headset because there is a lot of questions coming at you. I want to upgrade my GPU from my old 960. System info, I5-8600k and 16 GB RAM. (will need later) I was looking at the RTX 2070 SUPER and the RTX 2070 and noticed there wasn't a huge speed difference between the cards. Is it worth saving the 80$ or so on the 2070 or is it better in terms of future proofing to buy the 2070 SUPER? And it doesn’t stop there, because a friend pointed out I maybe would run into some bottleneck issues. Is it really a thing with modern day hardware or at least the CPU/GPU combination I am planning to make? If so, should I consider the 2060 SUPER. I would assume a 2-year-old 6-core processor wouldn’t run into a problem with the 2070’s, but I am not sure. I hope someone out there have a good answer, it would be much appreciated. (btw sorry for potential bad English, it is not my first language)

Im having some performance issues with my pc in fortnite. I have a 2700x cpu and a 2070 with 16gb of ram over clocked to 2700 MHz in game on all low settings i get around 180 - 220 fps witch is more than enough but its annoying i cant run over 240 if i were to buy a 240hz monitor. Similar speced pcs on youtube can run the game at a consistent 250 260 fps With 3600mhz ram. Im aware ram speed is huge with ryzen but should it make that much of a difference?

This was most noticeable when recently playing Doom Eternal, but my CPU usage is never above 20-25% and my GPU remains at around 6-10% at highest. I'm not as familiar with many of the issues that could be occuring as I'm relatively new at this, so I was wondering what you guys thought. All I know is that the numbers should definitely be higher, especially as I'm experiencing constant framerate drops regardless of settings. Temperatures are seemingly stable at all times. I have an RTX 2070 that performs well, however I have a problem with the temps. The GPU hits around 78 degrees C after gaming for a little while and just kind of stops there. I know this isn't insanely catastrophic but it is a bit higher than I would like really. The problem really lies in the fact that even if I put my case fans to full speed and my GPU fans to 100%, the temperatures stay the same, maybe go down 1 degree. I have tried taking the side and front panel off the case and everything, still the same GPU temps. Any idea what this could be?

Hi all, recently just upgraded my PC- finnaly after 9 years! anyway, everything build wise is fine, but i cannout output 144hz, the option is there but when i apply it, the screen flashes a few times and just resets back to 60hz. i have an msi 2070 and a benq xl2411 and previoulsy i ran 144hz on dvi-dl fine. i have purchased a bizlink active adaptor so i could run it properly. but nothing will not apply. unsure what to do and i have been sitting in a nvida live chat with no one.

Hi, I am thinking of getting an RTX 2070 Super and I was wondering which model to get? I have been looking at the: - MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio - it is too big for my case - MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X - cheaper, but only 2 fans compared to the others, with 3. - Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2070 Super- heard reviews saying that the rgb / fans died. - ASUS ROG RTX 2070 Super OC - quite expensive, but if it is the best one, I'll get it. Which one do you think I should get? If you think of another, it requires to have 3 display ports. - 2 for monitors and 1 for Oculus Rift-S. Thanks. :)

I currently have a GTX 970/i5 4690k and am upgrading my whole system to an ryzen 3600x and some new(er) GPU. I have a friend that is willing to sell me his 2070 non-super for $340, but in the current GPU climate I'm wondering if I should buy the 2070 (for what seems to be a good price), or wait for a 3060 in Jan/Feb or just splurge on the 3070 when it becomes possible. I know there's plenty of AMD options but I'm trying to keep it in the Nvidia family (no good reason otherwise tho). Thx!

So i built my first gaming pc a week ago, after a lot of research i came up with a list of parts that seemed ideal for my main goal which is 1440 p gaming. i came up with: Cpu :Ryzen 5 3600 Gpu: 2070 super RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHZ CAS 15 SSD: Wd blue 500 GB HDD: Seagate 2tb PSU : EVGA 650W gold+ Cpu cooler: Noctua nh-u9s So far i tried running Battlefield V (65 fps average), Apex Legends (100+ fps avg). Bannerlords (90 fps avg) . The Witcher 3(85-90 fps avg). All tests were made with settings maxed out on ultra. I am deeply disappointed in the performance of my GPU, before buying it i saw various benchmarks that were showing for instance Battlefield V running at ATLEAST 90 fps average or The Witcher 3 at ATLEAST 110 fps average. What could be causing this huge drop in performance? I have been monitoring temps and i dont really think throttling could be the issue since after a long session my GPU on average sits at around 75 ° (167 F), which is not great but not awful considering its pretty warm where i live, the highest i have seen my GPU go is 78°(172F), exactly the same for the highest temp of my CPU, which in turn on average sits at around 70°(158 F) after a long session. Any ideas? I kinda feel scammed by the benchmarks not gonna lie

Hey first time here, long time fan of LLT since we are at the midst of a new generation of consoles releasing this holiday season (with some beafy specs i might add). A - whats it the PC GPU equivalent to the xbox series X and PS5? B - all this talk about teraflops, is buying an rtx 2080 ti a right move now or wait till the new gen is released (3080 ti ?)? I am an enthusiast and specs nerd haha. i just upgraded my pc last year to ryzen 2700 and rtx 2070 with 32 ddr4z. I dont want to buy both consoles so i though i would upgrade my pc this year again and buy a PS5 when its out (or when it has good games). appreciate if you guys can give me good advice before i pull the trigger haha

Hey guys, just signed up to the forum! I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice, i wanted to upgrade GPUs as I have a Gigabyte gtx 960 4gb (bit outdated), but ive been reading that new gpus should be dropping soon but with this corona virus i would assume it would be delaying that massively. So pretty much im wondering should I: 1. Buy 2070 super and bite the bullet if new gpus drop even tho its a $800 aus card 2. Buy another 960 and run SLI until new gpus drop - i found one for $160 aus Im more leaning toward 2 as my performance isnt that bad and id rather new gpus to drop and then build new pc then instead of buying a 2070 now and it being inferior in 2-6 months Cheers lads!

So i'm looking at buying a 2070 super, but don't know who to buy it from. I like my strix card now, its an rx480 though. I'm just wondering, what your recommendations are with the aftermarket cards. I'm definitely leaning towards asus but im not too sure if there's any 1 that will be set apart from the other competitors.

Hey guys, Old Gaming Rig CPU: i5-4690k MOBO: some GIGABYTE MICRO-ATX GPU: MSI 6GB 980ti Storage: 250gb Samsung EVO for OS, 1tb Seagate HDD , 2tb Barracuda HDD Memory: 16gb of DDR3 PSU: 700w Corsair GS700 i had this rig for around 3-4 years and everything was fine until i started experiencing some stuttering which i primarily noticed when i was gaming. The stutters seemed to happen once every 3-5 minutes and i remember them getting more intense around 2-3 months ago. Hardware Changed: I got tired of these stutters and decided to start changing some parts, my CPU was often at 100% usage when i was gaming and so i thought the stutters originated from this. So i purchased a Ryzen 3600x, an ASUS Prime x570-p, and 16gb of DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z. I also tried installing games from my HDD's to my SSD's to see if it was a HDD issue but the stutters also happened. I removed the 2 HDD's from my build entirely and am running with the 3 SSD's: 250gb evo, 120gb from amd, and 500gb Kingston. Once all parts were put in and functioning i started checking temps and tried gaming again and i quickly noticed the stutters had not gone away. I then went onto the next possible problem, my GPU. I bought a MSI 2070 8GB Armour and installed it in and tried gaming, and although my PC's overall performance greatly increased but the stutters are still happening every 2-3 minutes. New Gaming Rig: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x MOBO: ASUS Prime X570-P Ryzen 3 AM4 ATX GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Armour 8GB Storage: (same one as old build)250gb Samsung SSD, (same one as old build)120gb AMD Radeon 7 SSD, 500GB Kingston SSD Memory: G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR Trident Z 16gb 3200 MHz DDR4 PSU: SAME ONE AS OLD BUILD - 700 watt Corsair GS 700 Software Based Tests done/noticed: - Fully wiped each drive and reinstalled a clean version of windows and started everything anew 2 weeks before buying the new parts. - In the performance tab of Task Manager and on MSI Afterburner every time i experience one of these stutters i see i dip in the GPU usage. - Used HWmonitor, MSI afterburner, Core Temp to monitor my cpu and gpu temps to and it never goes above 70 degrees Celsius when gaming. - I have run numerous benchmarks/stresstests with 3Dmark to see any problems and no stutters appeared. - I used a samsung monitor software to stress test my SSD's with no problems detected. - I flashed my BIOS to get the newest version from the MOBO's website. - Updated Ryzen drivers, Chipset drivers. - Followed a lot of online forums which said to change certain settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, to change timers using CMD, to change cpu performance modes to 99% instead of 100. - Used Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to uninstall drivers and install older drivers to no avail. What i think might be the issue So im considering changing my PSU because its literally the only part i haven't changed apart from my SSD's which i dont think are the problem because they seemed to pass the stresstests. I read somewhere that if the PSU isnt giving the gpu or other parts constant voltage or enough it can cause dips in the parts performance? However, i dont want to spend anymore money without a guaranteed fix because its been a pretty expensive past few weeks... hoping you guys can see something i haven't. Thanks for your help!!

With DLSS 2.0 being released and the ability to upscale from lower resolution with minimal loss in quality, the 2070 should soon be able to keep up with the 5700 XT as it can render in a lower quality. In addition, it has the advantage of being able to leverage it's RT cores to provide Ray Tracing for future games - and with the new Xbox and PS supporting this too, we should see many new games have better implementation of ray tracing and current games being updated to support this (especially as DLSS 2.0 is no longer done by a per game requirement but rather globally by AI). My question is as both cards are similarly priced, despite the 5700 XT having better performance currently - does DLSS 2.0 and support for ray tracing and future games supporting it, mean that the better choice would be the 2070 especially as AMD confirmed only the new RDNA 2 cards later in the year will support hardware accelerated ray tracing. Do you think the 2070 will be able to sufficiently upscale while using ray tracing via DLSS 2.0 to outperform the 5700 XT? Thanks.

I'm trying to use the OC scanner on the ASUS GPU TweakII, but it gets to around 7% and just stalls for a few minutes, then freezes my system which I then have to restart. Am I doing something wrong? (ROG Strix RTX 2070 with a i5-9600k)

I recently decided to upgrade my gtx 970 to something better. Currently i'm split between the Gainward RTX 2070 (450 USD) or the Gigabyte RTX 2060 super (480 USD) . The Gigabyte 2060S is the cheapest one you can get in my country and so is the Gainward RTX 2070. The Gainward RTX 2070 is cheaper than the 2060S but i'm afraid i'll be too loud or cheaply built compared to the Gigabyte 2060S. Noise isn't a huge issue for me but of course the queiter the Better. Sorry for any spelling errors. English isn't my 1st language:)

Hi I ordered this card however there is still time to cancel. I looked everywhere and I cant see any reviews on it, and it's quite cheap for a 2070 now so it may not be good. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-windforce-2x-v1-8gb-gddr6-ray-tracing-graphics-card-2304-core-1410mhz-1620

Hi guys. here i am to start a new topic. I have no clue to when the new Nvidia 20 series lineup will be released. i don't know either how mutch time nvidia put in between the older gen's either. so is it worth waiting for next gen Nvidia. or should i just pick up a 10 series right now? Im very curious if u guys know something about the new lineup. The only thing i hope for is that they will be priced more towards MSRP value. because currently everything is overpriced.

I just bought the Razer Blade 15 RTX2070 8th Gen i7 Advanced Model and am slowly going to integrate an eGPU enclosure and sell my gaming PC, but at the moment I just want to buy a TB3 dock to integrate all my peripherals through one tb3 cord. I have my eyes on the caldigit ts3 because it looks like the best choice to cover all my bases but for $400AUD its a bit out of my budget, im hoping to spend no more than $200 AUD. The I/O requirements I'm looking for at the bare minimum are as follows; - DisplayPort 1.4 (Not HDMI because I DP1.4 is required to display the full 1440p 144hz of my monitor) - Gigabit ethernet port - 2x TB3 ports - 3.5mm AUX in - SD card reader* - 10x USB 2.0/3.0 ports* *if it supports daisy chaining of a USB-A Hub then only 1 is really required but I need 10 in total because of all my peripherals and VR sensors ect. Same goes with the SD card reader as my USB hub already has one. If you have any suggestions or have gone a similar route i'd be happy to hear how you went about it. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking to build a pc and I was debating wether to get the 2060S or the 2070. This prices online for the 2060S are around $430 for a decent card and a 2070 is around $450 for a decent card. Any suggestions would be good. I am also trying to stream on this as well.

I am confused in which gpu to buy for my pc. I am getting rtx 2070 at same price of rx 5700xt. And 2060S around 50$ cheaper. I am also getting 2070S 100$ costlier then rtx 2070. Plz suggest me which one to buy.

Can someone help me with a, at least two my knowledge, difficult choice: I want to build a pc mainly to get my schoolwork done (i'm studying architecture) but I'm also into programming and want to experiment with GAN neural networks, and game a little on the side (nothing too fancy) so what would be the best card for me? A 2080 super for broader compatibility or a Radeon VII for it's raw compute power and big 16gb VRAM (but isn't that good besides opencl and compute)
