For reference, my graphics card is an MSI Ventus XS OC 1660 ti. Ever since I got my new case (TT core v21), I've noticed that my GPU cooler is a lot more audible than it was in my old case. In my old case, the front intake fans were a lot louder under full load and my GPU cooler was easily drowned out by them. My GPU has a set minimum of 47% fan speed. The fans will spin at 1500RPM idle, and the fans are not the quietest compared to what I've seen on other graphics cards. When gaming, the fans are much louder and easily drown out all other fans in my PC. The GPU itself pretty much suits my needs performance wise, and I don't really want to take the tricky route of selling my graphics card while at the same time purchasing a new one, so I'd rather not upgrade my GPU just yet. Aftermarket coolers seem like the next best thing, especially since my GPU tends to benefit clock-speed wise from lower temperatures. I found the arctic accelero xtreme iii which seems to check all of the boxes. It supports my GPU, it isn't as chunky as the xtreme iv, and it's $55. It also comes with included fans that would look better than custom attached fans. The main thing I'm worried about though is how the fan speeds will act on it. The minimum fan speed that my GPU has set may be bios restricted and could be a problem. After all, GPU fan tuning appears to be quite different from CPU fan tuning. I also want to know if I really need the cooler anyways and if i should get a new graphics card.

So I bought a pre-built gaming pc but didn’t know about the wattage being 350 so I bought an gtx 1660 Super double fan. And I also currently have an fx-8350 Inside. I bought an EVGA 500 W1 psu. I really don’t want to damage my graphics card or the cpu. Should I be worried with this config?

Hello peeps, I have a Zotac 1660Ti and im looking to watercool it. I want to get a block from aliexpress (I know, not always trustworthy and could go elsewhere but its my only option rn). I found only one model from the byski store https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000411316779.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4eb873ebAgfYKF&algo_pvid=101fb632-862a-45a2-8a31-52952653c20a&algo_expid=101fb632-862a-45a2-8a31-52952653c20a-8&btsid=0ab6d59515904752453172696ef9b8&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ But it says its compatible with the zotac 1660 twin fan and the RTX 2060 super. Now my question is can it fit my 1660Ti? Is the 1660 and the 1660ti the same model or something? Thanks and stay safe!

Hello all, I currently have an MSI RX 470 and i5-6500 running an Oculus Rift and have had it a year now and am happy with performance but curious about upgrades. I have some money saved and looking at spending around $350-$400CDN a local shop has a Gigabyte Radeon Vega 56 gaming for $369 and a EVGA 1660ti XC Black gaming for $364. I have been doing reading but there is not tonnes of specific VR data for these cards that I have found and was wondering if anyone had any real world experience that may help with the decision making process?

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, but i have been following the YT channel for a while. I have a quick question about GPU's that I can't quite make a decision on. so I am currently running an MSI GTX 1070 on my main pc. I have around $500-$600 to upgrade the GPU and I had two potential ideas, that I wanted to do. first option: i can get the exact same 1070 I already have on amazon for around $550, then SLI them together, to almost double my existing performance. (16gb gram) second option: Buy two 1660ti, which would be an improvement over my current performance, and have hardware RTX, but ultimately be a slight downgrade compared to the 1070 build option (12gb gram) alternatively I was looking at the newer GPUs like a 2070 Super, but from the looks of it, for the $600ish price range, that doesn't compare to the performance with the other two options. does anyone else have ideas on how to get the best bang for my buck, or know which of these options is the better way to go?

So after months of saving up an doing research i finaly came up with this build. It will be my first self build pc. (I live in the Netherlands import fees are ridiculous here) What do you guys think of this config Going to pick these puppys up tomorrow?

Hey guys, I'm currently running a 1660ti on my PC. I was wondering if I should save up money and buy a PS4 slim for the exclusives or upgrade to rtx 2060. I have no problems running games @60fps 1080p But I'm concerned about whether id be able to achieve similar performance in 2020 titles like Cyberpunk & etc . If the 1660ti can last 2020 with running games @solid 60 on High - medium settings then I'll definitely buy the PS4 for it's exclusives. so what do you guys think?

i'm interested in upgrading my GTX 970 card. it's good but i desire an upgrade. i was looking at a 1070 off craigslist between $220-$250 which is good. but i also looked into the 1660 Ti for $280. would it be best to just drop on a 1070 or dont risk and save up for that 1660 ti? i know debating is ridiculous when gaming on 1080 but any incite would definitely be beneficial. thank you guys

Currently looking for a budget gaming laptop. Mostly playing esport title such as apex, fortnite, LoL and csgo. currently debating between getting a asus rog strix g with i5 and 1650 or asus tuf gaming with ryzen 7 and 1660ti. Any suggestion?

Hi My old laptop (Lenovo Y700-17ISK) died so I have to buy a new one. I think 1050, 1060 are not strong enought compared to a 1660ti and 2060 isn't that much stronger than more expensive. So I made an excel with the main points. Do anybody know a better price/performance laptop than what I choosed? Or just drop your opinion Thanks Laptop.xlsx

So, recently I upgraded my old GTX 750 OC to a Gigabyte Windforce 1660 TI OC. I got in love overclocking my gpu and squasing all the performance out of it. (It feels really nice especially when you game on a low spec PC) So I decided to take the 1660 to it's limits. Although what I have noticed is a very big variation in the performance provided by my overclocks. (some bigger clocks would decrease performance in some cases) I've used a bunch of benchmarks to see the results I get and it got a bit confusing because values would sometimes actually decrease with the overclock. For this, I've used the base settings as an refference and 4 OC profiles in a increasing order. Profiles : Base : +0 Core Voltage 100% Power Limit Temp. Limit : 83* C +0 Core/Memory Clock OC 1 +100 Core Voltage (max) 123% Power Limit (max) Temp. Limit : 89* C (max) +120 Core Clock (setting recommended by MSI OC Scanner) +500 Memory Clock OC 2 +1000 Memory Clock OC 3 +1500 Memory Clock (I am amazed how this didn't destabilized things) OC 4 (Seeing that everything went ok so far I decided to ramp up the Core Clock to check stability and amazingly I had no problem) +130 Core Clock Benchmarks: Kombustor : (GL) msi-01 1080p - 2054 (34fps) base - 2208 (37fps) 1 - 2201 (37fps) 2 - 2212 (37fps) 3 - 2207 (36fps) 4 *DECREASE* (VK) Furmark-MSI 1080p - 4165 (69fps) base - 4595 (76fps) 1 - 4822 (80fps) 2 - 5188 (86fps) 3 - 5150 (85fps) 4 *DECREASE* (GL) Furmark-Donut-5200MB 1080p - 1370 (23fps) base - 1486 (25fps) 1 - 1561 (26fps) 2 - 1665 (28fps) 3 - 1666 (28fps) 4 Assassin's Creed Odyssey Benchmark 1080p/V-sync off/ FPS Limit off/ Graphic quality Very High/Adaptive quality off/AA High - 63(avg) - 23(min) - 100(max) base - 63 - 23 - 99 1 - 66 - 27 -100 2 - 63 - 25 - 90 3 - 65 -29 - 101 4 So after this results my questions are: * Can a bigger overclock decrease performance rather then increase it in some cases? * Any recommandations on a better OC configuration? * I've also run a stress test and I've noticed my Voltages decreasing and the Core clocks simulatenously slowly but I guess that's just the GPU protecting itself from overheating. Correct me if I'm wrong. * Temperatures were around 60-70* C for Kombustor Benchmarks and 55-70* C for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, so I don't think thermal throttling occurs. * The GPU is connected to a Pcie 16x 2.0 unfortunattely, along with an i7-4790 that clocks at 3.78 and 16Gb Dual-Channel DDR3 Ram. Apart from the Pcie are there any major bottlenecks? Thanks for the time you spent reading this and if you're still here you are a really good person! Peace!

More or less finished the computer spec list now. I have my storage so I have not included it into the pcpp list. All thoughts / other recommendations welcome https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/CrySis.Lex/saved/mmvFGX Thanks in advance, Lex.

Setup: OS: Windows 10 64bit GPU: Gigabyte windforce 1660ti +140 on Core +800 on Memory CPU: i5-7600k OC to 4.4GHz RAM: 8GB 2800MHz PSU: 700 watt I already tried reverting the overclocks but that didn't have any effect. Air cooled but no overheating issues at all. All drivers, windows & bios are running on the newest versions. All my overclocks are also running stable at their set speeds. No issues with dust in my build either. Hey guys! Recently upgraded from a 750ti to a 1660ti and was hoping to get those juicy fps boosts but well that didn't happen. I'm getting the same/worse fps in games now even though my exact setup even without overclocks should easily burn through all games at 1080p according to every benchmark i managed to find. Weirdest thing is that in most games the settings i use do NOT affect the fps at all for example my fps in overwatch at low/off settings are 90-140 and on high/ultra they are the exact same. According to gpucheck.com i should be getting around 220 at least when i play on low settings.

I had a budget of around $350 and I pretty much settled on a 1660 Ti. I play PC games on my TV and generally run at the highest resolution I can while getting a decent frame rate. While looking around today I found a original 2060 on sale for $420. It's a bit higher then my budget but I think I can swing it if it's actually worth it. I know each card comes with a lot of different models from a lot of different providers, but I'm never sure which ones are good and which ones aren't. So I have no idea if this card is any good at all. Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 If someone could let me know if that's a good deal or even a good card. Should just stick with a 1660 Ti. Also, if I do stick with a 1660 Ti, which model should I got for? I hear people recommending certain third parties and then other saying get the lowest price because the highest tier cards aren't really worth the extra price. Thanks! Edit: All prices in. Canadian dollars.

Hey I just want to know whether a GTX 1660Ti will work with an i5 9600k for streaming? I want to just stream at 1080p 60fps
-
So I just want a new PC to stream games on twitch etc. I'm just wondering will a GTX 1660ti work well with an i7 8700k? - I'm using a System Builder on a New Zealand site called PB tech.
-
Is it better to buy the new 1660ti or spend extra and go for the rtx 2060. I only want 1080p 60fps at high settings. I don't really care about the ray tracing stuff. I have the Ryzen 3 1200. Last year's games were smoothly running but it's showing lag in this year's titles.

I have a laptop (asus ga502) which has a ryzen 7 3750h and a 1660ti maxq edition. In COD warzone even at very low settings I'm only getting 45 -65 fps on average. It gets especially worse when I'm near lot of buildings. I've noticed that my cpu is always at 100% while playing and the clockspeed goes upto 3.3-3.5 ghz but the advertised speed in turbo is supposed to be 4 ghz. I feel that it's my cpu that's the problem. My friend with a 1650maxq and an i5 can comfortably run this game in 60-70fps and hence I don't understand why i am having such performance drops. I'm running all the updated drivers as of now. GPU temperatures are around 75 degrees while playing. Any ideas on what the issue is?

Was wondering if there was anything even morer worthwhile for the money around the range of a 1660TI?
-
First of all, me as a novice builder naturally wanted something that is: Cheap Fast Which make the 1660ti or 1660 a reasonable and logical choice. Now The card has came out for more than a month, which should be the time when issues regarding the card start to pop up, is there anything worth noting before buying it? And also what is the difference between the "ti" and "non-ti" version?

As title said,I want to stream with this configuration.I dont have it now,but as Iam planning to get it i want to know will it be good. What Iam personaly aiming is some good quality 720p60fps stream or even better if possible.I saw that in all ways ryzen beats intel when it comes to streaming but I personaly wouldn chose it just for that advantage. Also seen that 8700k is best for streaming (from intel family) but I dont want to pay that price to pair that high end cpu with this mid range gpu, thats just overkill to me.8700k need to be paired with like 1080 but as Iam playing on 1080p 144hz thats even bigger overkill and will cost to much.So should I think about stronger cpu or this is it?

Hello boys! I am thinking about GPU upgrade do you think it's worth it? Currently I have EVGA GTX 980 combined with i7-4790S I was looking at GTX1660ti and I think it's one of the best graphics cards in performace/value. I think the 1660ti has better temperatures and lower power consuption but that performace differential isn't not that big. (Yeah i know about 6GB of GDDR6) Mostly I am playing overwatch and I am getting about 78-80°C on GPU. So my question is. Is there any signifficant perfomance upgrade or only in temperature and power consuption? THX for all replies and as always sorry for mistakes ?.
