I’m kinda running into an issue with my setup. So it’s my first PC, ROG STRIX G15DK. It’s got an NVIDIA RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. My monitor however is really all I got. It’s a 4k OLED ThinQ 65”… obviously 4K looks amazing, but when I get into games like Tarkov or MSFS 2020… looks amazing but at about 20fps 30 on a good day. I have my CPU ratio set 41.75 and my RAM settings set as tight as I can without having much knowledge about PC’s, as well as all the performance settings set in bios. Doing this I get about 10-20 more frames and it seems my cpu is showing better performance. Now my big issue is the 4K tv, I’m currently setting it at 1080p as it looks clearer than 1440 for some reason. It still looks blurry and jagged like textures and words, and I still only see 30-50 FPS sometimes up to 70 at medium settings. Is there something I’m missing with settings or anything to get max quality and performance with my set up or am I screwed because I have a 4k tv?

Hello. I still considere my self pretty ignorant in theese kind of things so my question migth be a little stupid but anyways, My current specs: R5 2600 No OC (I have a R 7 5700X on the way, should arrive in the next few days) RTX 2060 Gigabyte Windforce 32 Gb Ram @3200 Playing at 1080p On my games I always have everything in low, usage is usually 50% or less on both GPU and CPU. My logic tells me that if the game is not demanding as much from the hardware, I should be getting better performance, but its not the case. Example, if my GPU and CPU are only at 50% usage, why dont they deliver more FPS? Is upgrading my GPU my only solution? Id like to have at least 120 FPS on the games im getting 60 to 80 FPS But what I really want is constant 144 FPS at 1080p (Im thinking about upgrading to a 3060TI or 3070 whenever I can. But still, I feel like my 2060 should perform better than it is. Why do I only get 60 to 80 FPS on my games? Games I play: Escape From Tarkov (I know this game is not optimized so we can ignore this one. I actually get 50 to 60 fps here.) Games I get 60 - 80 Fps Call of Duty Warzone Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 Games I get 110 to 135 FPS Call of Duty MW 2 (2022) Multiplayer Thanks to everyone who likes to help!

I received a Ryzen 9 7900X and currently have a 3080 TI. I game in both 1080P and 4k. Will I see any limitations or “bottlenecks” with this duo?

Budget (including currency): 1500 Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: steam games including witcher 3 and Spiderman milesmoralas Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want to build a backpack able itx build that has the equivalent or better performance than my old amd390 fx 6300 powered pc I built in 2015 I don't know what I can get away that would fit in say a moderate school bag I would like to use something like the node 202 or comparable itx case but I don't know where to begin for an itx build

So I got a budget build around, its great for 1080p, even 1440p. But 4k is really unachievable for me. I am one of those gamers who games on a 4k TV (wanted a 55 inch but couldn't find 1080p anymore). I don't know what is it, but I tried 1440p and even 4k and I don't see much difference. I turn up the sharpness from 50 to 70 on TV, turn on game mode and that's it. I set the in game res to 1080p for each game in the menu. Maybe this could be because I'm sitting 6 feet away? I just can't notice 1080p vs 4k on the TV. I'm not really complaining as this gives me awesome fps in a budget build which could last a couple more years. I'm just wondering if any of you do the same, I mean play 1080p on a 4k TV?

Hello, I’m in the preliminary stages of designing a golf simulator and am currently researching the video equipment portion (this setup is about recording the golfer’s swing). I’m sharing my desired video setup / user experience in hopes that someone here could steer me in the right direction when it comes to software / hardware. See the bottom for my selection after all my research. - Notes - I have identified that the Panasonic Lumix GH6 is the camera I'd like to use (it can do 4k 120 fps, 1080p 240fps and has HDMI 2.1 output). I found Black Magic Design and Atomos and thought maybe the combination of a handful of items from either of them could meet my desired use case. I got a response from someone at Atomos and their solution would be too expensive and too complex (no one at black magic responded but I’m assuming it would be just as expensive and complex). A 4k 120Hz monitor and a computer with the needed compute power (CPU and GPU) can be assumed to be available (I am also after thoughts and opinions on the needed specs of the computer needed for this project). - User experience - A golfer is on an indoor golf mat preparing to hit a golf ball into a net. There are four cameras mounted in different positions around the golfer. Prior to setting up to hit the ball they take the end of their golf club and gently tap a button on a button pad on the floor in front of them. The button tapped simultaneously starts the recording of four 4K 120fps / 1080p 240fps cameras. The golfer then sets up and hits the ball. After the golf shot the golfer then gently taps another button with the end of their golf club. The button tapped simultaneously stops the recording of all four cameras. Let’s say the golfer hit a bad shot and as a result doesn’t want to keep the recordings. The golfer would then gently tap a button to delete the four recordings. If the golfer does want to keep the recordings they would tap a button to save the recordings. The buttons could be labeled - start, stop, save, delete The goals of this setup are: - allow a single person to operate the video capture equipment and also be the subject of the video by hitting a golf ball - minimize the number of steps needing to start, stop, save or delete a swing recording (which is four 4K 120fps video files) - have very minimal editing needing to produce four 4K 120fps / 1080p 240fps videos files that are synced, meaning if I go to 0.25 seconds in each video I am looking at the same thing but from a different view point - be able to quickly view the 4k 120fps / 1080p 240fps footage after it was captured I went with the idea of having a button pad down on the ground that can be used by the golfer via the end of the club because having a raised desk near the golfer that has a mouse or keyboard would block the video shots. Being able to stay on the golf mat to hit golf balls and also control the video capture aspect is important. Walking 10 or so feet back to a desk that is out of view of all 4 cameras and then walking back to the mat to then hit the shot would be too slow of a process. The goal is to be able to hit shot after shot and have a recording of each shot - all done relatively quickly. Having a remote in the golfers pocket is also an option. Also, if a golf shot is hit and the golfer opts to save the recordings, being able to quickly view all four videos up on a large monitor is important. The overarching goal is to have a setup that allows the golfer to have a quick iterative experience where they can get feedback on each shot. My findings and setup from what I’ve learned 4k 120fps capture is not going to happen because there isn’t a consumer or prosumer capture card that uses HDMI 2.1 As a result, I think going with 1080p at 240fps is my best bet (my initial plan was 4k 120fps) Selecting the Panasonic Lumix GH6 as it has the needed resolution and framerate for now (1080p 240fps) and later (4k 120fps) when a capture card comes out that can capture 4k 120fps. Use the Mountain Macropad to at least start and stop recording https://mountain.gg/keypads/macropad/ Use OBS to record the 4 camera feeds Use 4 Avermedia Live Gamer 4k capture cards to record all 4 cameras at 1080p 240fps https://www.avermedia.com/product-detail/GC573 Use a motherboard with 4 PCI-Express Gen 3 x4 so I can use 4 Avermedia Live Gamer 4k capture cards (there also needs to be a slot for a GPU) Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. I am open to any and all ideas Cheers, Jon-Eric Cook

Budget (including currency): Less than 500€ for the GPU and less than 200€ for the monitor Country: Spain Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, I usually play competitive games but I also play more demanding games (badly optimized ones like Escape from Tarkov, AAA games...) Other details: I am planning on upgrading my monitor from 1080p 60hz to 1080p 144hz for the smoothness. My actual GPU is quite old now, AMD RX480 8Gb, my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 6 Cores, 16GB of RAM and the power supply is a CORSAIR CX 650W 80plus bronze. I'm trying to take advantage of some black friday sales if there is a chance but I can also wait some time since the new AMD GPUs are dropping in December. I have already seen a good sale on the monitor, but I'm not really sure if it is a good monitor(ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A 23.8" LED IPS FullHD 165Hz FreeSync Premium, 154,99€). And for the GPU I had a look on the RX6700XT but I'm not sure if it would be overkill or not, or even if I would have to upgrade my CPU. I don't really care about ray tracing if I can save some money..

So basically I found a curved 1080p 144hz monitor on sale for a good price that I want to buy, the only problem is that it's specs say it has a 4ms response time. Will 4ms hurt my gaming performance, or can the 144hz refresh help kinda help cancel it out? I don't know much about monitors, so I'm not quite sure how it could affect things. I just upgraded from a gtx 780 ti to a rtx 2060 super, so I really want a new monitor for the higher fps.

Hi All, My brother needs a new gaming laptop and as he doesn't know much has come to me to choose one for him. I have currently narrowed it down to the 2 options below: HP Omen 15-en1000na for £1175 CPU- Ryzen 5800H GPU- RTX 3070 1tb SSD 16GB RAM 15.6" 1440p 165hz Display - 300 nits 1 Year Warranty OR ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 for £1450 CPU- Ryzen 5900HS GPU- RTX 3080 1tb SSD 16GB RAM 15.6" 1080p 144hz Display - 250 nits 2 Years Warranty I'm not sure which one to go for but think these are both great deals (all new). The issue with the Asus is the screen being 1080p and only 250nits and my brother doesn't use a monitor. The 3080 would is kinda overkill and seems like such a let down on a otherwise beautiful laptop. The issue with the Omen is the build quality and apparently the 3070 gets restricted resulting in it being a low performing 3070. Therefore is 1440p too much for that gpu? I guess i'm asking out of these 2 options what would you go for? Thanks in advance, he wants to order it today and i can't get my head straight

I've recently upgraded from a 1060 3gb to a 1080ti. Massive difference! But I don't have the funds to upgrade my CPU, so I am stuck with a 10100 for now. Do you think that I should start using vsync to eliminate CPU bottleneck? Does that even make sense? I play mostly singleplayer games and my monitor is 75Hz@1080p

Hello, would anyone recommend any good software for upscaling video files to HD (1080p) or 4k (2160p), preferably free or for a decent price? Thank you.

Hi, I'm on a tight budget, i live in Lebanon and therefore dont have a wide variation of options. After watching and reading some reviews I went with a used ViewSonic 144hz 24 monitor (120$). However after some usage I didn't like it, I had an ips 60hz monitor before. The main bummer was the colors, compared to my old ips monitor, the colors feel dull and my eyes hurt, there is no life to them, I tried tweaking the settings but nothing changed. but to be honest maybe all tn panels are similar, I don't know. Also that the best settings for gaming are not good for reading, and you cant save certain preset like ZOWIE XL2540. What I loved is the built in mics and the adjustability. Now I increased my budget to 150-200$ also for 1080p 144hz 24inch monitors but with better colors and perks, I think these settings suites me and my pc (3060, i5 10400) well. I saw many used options but I'm lost at what to look at (brand, date of manufacturing or what? since they all share same resolution, response time, size and refresh rate), I ONLY INCLUDED MOINTORS FROM 2019 ONWARDS (dont know but thought they could have better technology and at max used 3 years) here's what I found: Acer KG1 27" 2020 (140$) Acer KG1 24" 2020 (175$) AOC 24G2 2019 (150$) HP Omen 25 FHD 2019 (200$) LG 24GL600F 2019 (150$) Lenovo Legion Y25f-10 2019 (140$) What do you think guys, I'm strongly considering the AOC 24g2 since its ips pannel and the cheapest.

Heya! I've recently benched my RX 570 4GB and my newly obtained GTX 1080, and put the results in a nice little spreadsheet that's somewhat easy to compare! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NIjFQUxIsiAUIUc0YsQWtXEAh1dNWcVyUJBOpR98R_4/edit#gid=1604616601

Heya! I've made a pretty nice spreadsheet of performance I get with my GTX 1080 along the settings that goes along with it, at 1080p and 1440P here if you want an image as well that works for me! edit: here's my pcpp list here along with some pictures edit2: the 7700K is clocked at 4.7GHz core, and 4.5 cache at 1.28v edit3: I highly recommend just using the spreadsheet link, as i do not wish to waste time updating the image as i bench games!

I'm currently looking to upgrade my monitor to a 3440x1440 165hz ultrawide from a 1920x1080 165hz monitor. I had originally thought about upgrading my CPU from the 3600 to the 5800x but wrote it off since I wouldn't be gaining much on 1080p. However, since I am now considering the ultrawide at 3440x1440, would I see much benefit in fps if I upgrade to a 5800x? Is my current setup optimal to game at this res? I realize that I'll be playing at a lower FPS but I'm planning on getting the 4000 cards later on anyway, might not be a bad idea to future proof the monitors. Current games I play are: Valorant, Horizon ZD, RDR2, Elden Ring, Apex Currently rocking a 3600 @ 4.1gHz and 2070 at stock settings.

This is a subjective question because sken people think it is fine But does it look blurry? And how blurry

I'm looking for 2 monitors for my cousin that are: 1080p 27" color-accurate relatively affordable Higher resolution isn't an option because she uses this USB-C dock for work & a DisplayLink dock for her personal Surface Pro (the one before USB-C), and both don't support 4K @ 60Hz (the former's USB speeds have to be downgraded).

Hi there, during the last two weeks, I have been looking into touchscreen monitors. The person that tasked me with this wants a large screen (27"+) and a good quality display panel with a high resolution. Unfortunately, the offers on the touchscreen market are minimal; I could tell him right away that 4k and 27" are not going to happen. These high resolution displays are only available on All in One computers. The final decision was between the Dell P2418HT and the Lenovo T24t-20. As you can see from the title, we decided on Lenovo because of the better ports and the lower price. It was not an easy decision because there were no reviews online, except for the marketing material from Lenovo. The panel is 1920x1080 @75Hz; this was a pleasant surprise since it is listed as a 60Hz panel on most websites The monitor has 80W power delivery via USB-C It doesn't have speakers The colours don't look as good as on my MacBook, but this isn't a fair comparison. I tested the display with my SpyderX and DisplayCal. All of the default presets are garbage, except for the one selected as default. DisplayCal revealed these results: ACCURACY dE76 avg 0.083711 ACCURACY_ dE76 max 1.350533 ACCURACY dE76 rms 0.204007 GAMUT volume 1.12003861735 GAMUT_coverage(srgb) 0.9777 GAMUT_coverage(dci-p3) 0.7907 GAMUT coverage(adobe-rgb) 0.7139 In my opinion, the touchscreen experience on a display this large is not good. I had never seen a Windows touchscreen this large in person before, so I was eager to try it out. The monitor was connected to an Intel NUC with Windows 11 installed. The touchscreen felt very slow, despite the displays 75Hz refresh rate. I don't know its polling rate, but compared to my iPad, it felt unresponsive. I heard that Windows 11 reduced touch functionality; the first thing I experienced was that no touch keyboard pops up, when I click in a text box. Maybe there was a hardware keyboard connected; maybe there is an option to toggle; I don't know. I concluded that it is unergonomic to use a 24" touchscreen monitor; you have to move your hands more to reach for buttons than on a smaller touchscreen. I didn't test these horrible fake touch screens pens for drawing. If you want to draw, get a Surface Studio or a Wacom. I hope I can help someone looking for a touchscreen with this review. I can't tell yet whether the person who wanted this monitor likes it and decides to keep it in the long run. T24t-20 #1 2022-02-10 10-18 2.2 F-S XYZLUT+MTX.icm

I recently just switched to 1440p from 1080p. I was wondering if my mouse sensitivity and aiming will be affected. If it does, is there a way to find out how to raise my mouse sensitivity to match how it was for 1080p to now 1440p?

I'm in the market for a new monitor. I was considering 1080p 240hz at 27 inches, but then I saw some comparison videos, this made me also consider 1440p 144hz. The only concerns for me is, whether 1440p gives a big performance hit. I have an i7-7700k, RTX 2070 and 16gb RAM. Will my system run demanding games fine at 1440p? I mainly play league of legends and fps games. But some games like monster hunter world and gta 5 are ones that I'm worried about performance dropping when switching to 1440p. Will I be able to run games smoothly at 1440p? or should I just stick to 1080p and get the 240hz.
