Hello everybody, I recently upgraded my gtx 960 to a gtx 1080 ti and i got the feeling my cpu is bottlenecking quite alot so I changed my i5 4670k @4,5 ghz to an i7 4770k @4,3 ghz. Well i play on a 1080p 144hz freesync (AOC 2770g4) and i dont see alot of perfomance boost to the previous build. At games like Overwatch it barely touches 100% on the cpu and gpu (fraps min 90 max 139 avg 113,1). settings at Epic. i really dont know what it could be i reinstalled nvidia driver 388.43 and it didn´t helped thank you in advance Tiago Specs i7 4770k 4,3ghz Gigabyte H97-D3H-CF EVGA 1080ti SC Black Edition EVGA SUPERNOVA 750W G2 16 GB Corsair Lpx Deepcool Captain 240 ex 850 EVO 500GB Seagate 3TB WD 1 TB Win 10

So my current rig has a single 1070 Ti in it. I'm thinking of upgrading down the line for high refresh rate 1080p gaming/possibly higher res gaming once I get enough money to comfortably afford a 1440p or 4K monitor. What I'm wondering is whether I would be better off buying a 1080 Ti or something like that as a direct upgrade, or buying a second 1070 Ti and running the two in SLI. Which would grant a better performance gain for my money?

I need a 1080p monitor for this build, I pick 1080 ti because I need it to last 3-4 years. Here's the list link: 1a.lt/order/shopping_cart?content=HcbBAQAwBAPAlYgo2v33Ku51GiDl6oPQnJPKsOyYZPlGnYebgNTEoPDOBw%3D%3D

Hey there! I'm looking into VR and wanna get started the next couple of days / weeks. My GPU was kinda old and just died on me a couple of days ago (GTX 780 FE), which is a perfect opportunity to buy a new GPU! I got a budget of around 900€ and don't know which route I should go. I was thinking of getting a 1080 and a Rift alongside with it. After doing some research though the 1080 Ti seems much more capable and better suited especially for VR and highres gaming. If I were to buy the 1080 Ti, I couldn't afford a headset yet. I'd need to work a little more to purchase the headset sometime in early 2018. So I would like you guys to help me answer which route I should go. 1080 + VR headset right off the bat or the 1080 Ti and saving up money for the headset in a couple of weeks / months? My rig: i5 4670k @ 4,2GHz 16gb DDR3 RAM 500gb Samsung Evo SSD Asus Maximus VI Formula Corsair H100i AIO be quiet! Straight Power 600w 80+ Gold Sorry if I've formatted something wrong or broke some rule and thanks in advance for your answers, highly appreciated! Greetings!

Is there a way I can tell if its my graphics card (1080 ti ftw 3) or if its just the game that keeps crashing when playing forza 7? When it crashes i'm always mid race, it just goes back to the desktop like nothing happened. My Precision XOC is still running also. Suppose ill drop some specs: CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.50GHz Motherboard Sabertooth Z170s RAM 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 2400MHz (16-16-16-39) GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 ti EVGA FTW 3 Case NZXT S340 Elite Storage 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO - 4TB WD Enterpise Harddrive

Hello everyone, I'm new here and need little help. I'm building my first pc. It'll be used for gaming, montage, rendering videos. Monitor is 4k. My location is the US and my budget is about $2200(for the parts; Case and other peripherals not included as I already have them). Here's the list I've come up with so far: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vzkg2R Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vzkg2R/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($414.89 @ B&H) CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X52 Liquid CPU Cooler ($179.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI - Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($191.98 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($195.86 @ OutletPC) Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($124.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Crucial - MX300 525GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($144.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card ($799.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($89.99 @ B&H) Case Fan: Thermaltake - Riing Plus 12 RGB TT Premium Edition (3 Fan Pack) 48.3 CFM 120mm Fans ($83.89 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $2226.37 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-11-14 08:02 EST-0500 I have some questions and need your advice: MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC OR ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming ? MSI 1080 ti gaming x trio OR ASUS 1080 ti strix ? Toshiba OCZ RD400 Series Solid State Drive PCIe NVMe M.2 256GB with MLC Flash OR Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ? I'm planning to oc the cpu at some point. But I feel like Kraken x52 is overkill, and a bit expensive. what do you guys think? I'll really appreciate any advice. Thank you guys in advance.

At my local microcenter, the MSI 1080 TI Armor is around 710 USD while the EVGA FTW3 1080 TI is around 800 USD which is almost A HUNDRED dollars more. Should I save money & go for the armor? & will these 2 cards provide a difference in gaming other then looks?

I can't decide what to upgrade next, I currently have a gtx 1070, i5 4690k @4.4Ghz and 8gb DDR3 1600mhz along with a 500w psu. I game in 4K. My options are these: 1. I sell my cpu mobo ram and case, and buy a ( Amazon.com: Thermaltake View 71 4-Sided Tempered Glass Vertical GPU Modular SPCC E-ATX Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with 2 Blue LED Riing Fan Pre-installed CA-1I7-00F1WN-00: Computers & Accessories ) TT view 31 RGB case, i5 8600k, a z370 mobo, 16GB of vengeance RGB DDR4 and a kraken x62. 2. I sell my 1070 and buy a Palit 1080ti (which is all I can afford). I can't afford both right now. I don't know if a palit GPU will be any good, but since I game at a high resolution i figure I will get a bigger performance boost from a gpu upgrade. On the other hand Aesthetics are very important to me and I've been looking at the kraken x62 and thermaltake case for a long time. Which option do you think is going to benefit me more?

I got a dell SG s2716dg, and I can no longer record.. I can only record in dirt trash quality. I have a i7- 4790k, z87m GAMING Motherboard GTX1080 TI, 18gig vengance ram, 2 850 EVO ssds, one 500g, one 1tb. All recording software and recording is ONLY on the tb ssd. NOTHING ELSE. Its only reason for existence is to record. Action lags my games, all games. Obs doesnt record in high quality no matter the settings, Dxtory lags game and video. Before getting this monitor I did not have a single issue recording and did 1080i 60p Videos.( I have all my drivers updated, monitor, gpu, anything.)

Will a PCIe x4 connection bottleneck a 1080 ti? I know that x8 will not bottleneck but maybe x4 will?

1080 ti Upgrading to 1080Ti- Maybe a 7700k too?
shaulbarlev1 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Heyo, I'm a filmmaking student, mainly working with the Adobe suite: Premiere Pro and After Effects. I'll soon be editing multiple projects in 4K. Current setup: MOBO: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H CPU: i7 6700 3.4Ghz GPU: AMD Sapphire Radeon RX 470 8GB RAM: 2x8gb HyperX Fury DDR4, 2400Mhz My plan was to upgrade to the 1080 Ti. Then I started to think about the 7700k. Now, I would've gladly opted to one of the Ryzen CPUs, being of great value for the money and all but for now I'd rather stay with my current motherboard- which if I understand correctly, the 7700k is the latest CPU it can wield. Anyway, maybe eventually I'll upgrade both the GPU and CPU, but for the time being, which will affect more my workflow with Premiere and After Effects? Should I get the 1080Ti and stay with the 6700? or Should I get the 7700k and stay with the RX 470? Is Cuda relevant? Many thanks and happy holidays -
Hey guys, building my very first PC. Here are the parts I am using right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qHVszM At the moment, I plan on getting the Asus 1080 ti Strix OC version. I was wondering if I should wait for the Poseidon. Is it worth it? I do not plan on using custom loops, is the air cooling on the Poseidon any good? Is it better than the strix? How would it fit with the rest of my parts? Aprox release date? Thank you so much guys. Any info is appreciated <3

I'm interested in playing games at really high frames on high to ultra settings & even 4k gaming. Would a 1080 be enough for me to get to save money or should i spend an extra 200 on a 1080 TI. I will be getting a Ryzen 5 1600 or Ryzen 7 1700 with either an Asus B350 or X370 motherboard

The awaited GTX 1080 Ti is to be released at CES in January next year, and will be more powerful than the Titan XP. Compared to GTX 1080 This is 1.5x the GDDR5X of the GTX 1080 Although it has a lower boost clock than the GTX 1080, it has 1.3x CUDA cores Compared to GTX Titan XP The same amount of GDDR5X as the Titan XP 93% the amount of CUDA cores as the Titan XP 1.1x the boost clock of the Titan XP Original Source: http://www.breathecast.com/articles/geforce-gtx-1080-ti-release-date-price-rumors-ces-2017-launch-date-confirmed-36083/

I've been looking online for about 20 minutes, and I can't find any sources confirming or denying whether or not the 1080 Ti will have PCIe 4.0; does know more details on this? Thanks, (also, is it just me or has the text for posts become bold?)

I am going to build brand new PC. This will be my first experience to build the PC. Recently Nvidia announced Pascal 1080 and 1070 graphics cards. So, Is it worth to wait for 1080 Ti card (which might come up with HMB2 memory) or should I go for 1080 only.

So now that the 1080 ti custom cards are going to be released soon, I can finally build my new PC. My budget is around 3k wl some flexibility. I'm going to use it for Gaming, Video Editing, and other Adobe software so I'm trying to go for a good balance. I plan on getting another 27" monitor for dual screens later, but a cheaper one. I'm open to opinions and/or feedback on anything. I already have enough people ridiculing me for getting a 6850K instead of a Ryzen 7. I haven't really made up my mind on that yet, so I'd like to focus attention on everything else. Thanks, guys! Hi, my specs: core i5 4690 at 3.5 (boost 3.9) gygabyte h97 16 Gb ram msi aero 1080 ti factory OC (1520 MHz) Acer monitor p243w at 1200p i just installed the GPU and did some testing and gaming and I have to say I am a bit disappointed by the fps and scores I got at 1200p unigine heaven everything ultra at 1200p: 3323 firestrike 1200p: 16458 ( graphics 28420, physics 7185) Mass Effect Andromeda 1200p: 120-150fps in the vault, 60-110fps on EOS surface. Doom2016: 120-160fps i noticed my CPU load: very low for heaven, close to 100% for fire strike physics test, quite low for the rest 100% for andromeda when the area loads, then goes down to 60-70% I base my comparison on reviews of the 1080ti FE at 1080p. Does my 1200p justify the difference? Is my Core i5 slowing my pc down that much? i was hoping to buy a 4k monitor but I am now doubting that my GPU+CPU can pull it off. Thanks!
