I have a brand new 27" 60 Hz 1440p monitor. I know its not the best for gaming (60Hz ~ 60fps max if I'm correct?), but its used for photo editing during the day. I want to game on the same system after hours. So for gaming - based on this recent vid from LTT: I'm considering the more silent "MSI Gaming X" version of the RX580. Currently priced in South Africa at around R5000 (353 USD). Nvidea's 1060-6GB is roughly the same price at the moment. The 1070Ti is on sale for the same price as the 1070 at R8000 (565 USD). [All MSI Gaming x cards] So the question is: for 1440p 60 FPS gaming on current titles, do you agree with my assumption that the RX580 would be beter than the 1060-6GB. Is the price difference worth spending to consider the 1070/1070Ti (currently the 1070Ti is cheaper than the 1070 itself). TIA

Hi guys I'm about to check out the 1070 SC black edition on B&H atm for 437$. I'm playing RPG's offline and online on my 960 ftw 2gb. It cant pull an average 60fps on high video settings for some games. I want high settings because for the better immersion of the game. I don't have problems before because I play old RPG's before like assassins creed 1 and 2. I've been searching online for the past few days and come into conclusion that the 1070 is the card. rx vega 56 price is higher now than the 1070 1080 is not in the budget 1060 will not be enough for the FPS for my selection of games. I cannot buy at the local store its way overprice. questions The thing is if i remember correctly, I bought my Graphics card 2 years ago (960 ftw 2gb) is it too soon to upgrade? Will it bottleneck my i74790k at 1080p? EVGA 1070 SC is the best choice now price to performance for my budget (450$)? Should I get the 1070ti? thank you guys for reading

Hello guys! I was thinking about getting a rig for mining, and I was think about getting this rig. I pay 15p/20 cents for kw/h. 4x MSI GTX 1070 TI TITANIUM 8G MSI H270 Gaming Pro Carbon Intel Core i3-7100 Crucial 16GB BLS16G4D240FSE 1TB Hard Drive 7200RPM 4x Xigmatek XAF-F1452 Fans Corsair RM1000x Tutoy Open Air Mining Miner Frame Rig 4x Marktol PCI-E 1x to 16x Powered Riser Adapter Card Apparently this rig would be able to mine at: Hashing Power of 105.2 MH/s at a power consumption of 570W. Opinions? Thanks

As most of you know that mining is becoming popular again making GPU's demand increases, and I pretty much can afford a 1070ti, should I get it now when the price is still low (I expect price to increase as demand for gpus are high) or wait for the new 2000 series? If the price rises next year, will it be a lot? Don't mind waiting for new tech as I hope it can last for at least 5 years.

I'm currently in the process of building my own pc and I have recently gatherd information from people on this form expressing their concerns of GPU's bottlenecking the 8700k. I have a budget of around £1250-£1500 but cannot stretch over the £1500 mark. If it helps, I live in London (UK). The build would be air cooled in a atx case (have not chosen a case yet). It's uses will be listed below*. *3d cad, video encoding, the entire adobe sweet, gaming*, VR, 4K-6K raw red footage ect (all of these are equally important and I would rather not sacrifice any performance) *games include - Rise if the tomb raider, csgo, play unknowns battle grounds, rainbow six siege ect along with a few AAA titles. I will more than likely run a 1440p or 1080p 32inch monitor for gaming along with a 4K monitor for productivity and / or another 1440p /1080p. It would help if you could supply me with information on the coolers performance on a overclocked and stock 8700k. If the cooler is not great and / or you know of a better one please recommend it to me (would help if it had clearance for dominator platinum) To clarify, dominator platinum ram is cheaper than any other kit from any other brand with the same speed and capacitys where I live. I have a few concerns I would love to share and would be more than appreciative if you could help with them! 1 - Will these GPUs reach their full potential with the 8700k? 2 - What will my avg temp be under a heavy load? 3 - Any avg frames for gaming with the CPU at stock and overclocked? This is my current spec list as of now. I am hoping the price of the CPU, motherboard and cooler will drop in 2018 to make room for a 1080ti. Case - NA Motherboard - Asus Maximus X hero wifi (or code upon release) - £259.98 CPU - i7 8700k - £352.79 CPU Cooler - CRYORIG R1 universal - £72.80 GPU - GTX 1070ti / 1080 / 1080ti founders edition - £419 / £519 / £679 RAM - Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz - £187.98 PSU - Corsair RM650x fully modular £85.02 SSD - Kingston 120gb - £36 HHD - WD/segate blue 1tb £38.97 Thanks for the help, sorry for it being so long winded, I just want to ensure this build goes well .

Ok, so I'm finally making the switch from an 860m laptop to a custom built desktop. All the other parts are decided except for the GPU:https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Swagboy/saved/VmwkTW Games I want to run: Project Cars 2 GTA V Watch Dogs 2 PUBG CSGO I currently have a 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor I got at Best Buy on a sale for $350 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-27-led-qhd-gsync-monitor-black/5293502.p?skuId=5293502 I'm thinking about a 1080ti but I'm not sure if it's really worth the extra $200 over the 1080 for just 15-20fps more over 120fps however 15-20fps over 30fps makes a huge difference. An OC 1070ti can match or surpass a 1080 stock in most games. I'd like to know your guys' opinions for the GPU. Thanks!

Hi, i recently had some concerns with my next build and was told the 1070ti would bottle neck my 8700k. Is that true?, if so should i push my budget and buy a 1080? And if i buy a FE 1070ti/1080 because its cheaper is there any performance difference between a FE and a aftermarket (AF) ? Is it worth the extra £70 - £250 for a AF card? Thanks for the help!
-
Hey, i could use some help on choosing a GPU for my next PC. A 1070ti-FE is £419 pounds where i live and a 1070ti-AF is anywhere between £440 - £550 What are the benefits of buying a aftermarket 1070ti or is there close to no difference?

I was looking for a new graphics card and stumbled upon this, and to me it looks like the ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070 is BETTER than ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070ti. How? Gtx 1070 = Core clock (Gaming Mode) 1632 MHz (OC Mode) 1657 MHz Boost clock (Gaming Mode) 1835 MHz (OC Mode) 1860 MHz Gtx 1070ti = Core clock (Gaming Mode) 1607 MHz (OC Mode) 1683 MHz Boost clock (Gaming Mode) 1683 MHz (OC Mode) 1759 MHz Mind you I'm not a genius when it comes to this and therefore I'd like some input from someone who actually knows what they're looking at, thanks.

Hello guys, I am looking for a GTX 1707ti as an upgrade to my 970, I'd like to know your opinion on 3 cards. The first is the Asus Strix 1070ti, I've always been an Asus fan and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if I hadn't seen the second card I want to know more about: The MSI 1070ti Titanium. This one looks like it's a silver version of their Gaming X line of cards, which I haven't been looking at very much because they impose a red color card on you which is a shame.. Their VRM's and coolers (on the Gaming line at least) are really good. Now what I want to know is whether the 1070ti titanium is just a silver and more color neutral Gaming X, I'm concerned about the VRM's and cooler design which do look the same but I'd like confirmation. If that is the case, I'd like your opinion on the MSI and Asus cards and which one you think I should get. Note: The Gaming X (520-530USD) is 30-40 USD more expensive than the titanium (490USD), which is about the same as the Strix one (500USD). I'd go with Asus if the titanium is a slightly downgraded Gaming X as they're more in my budget. Thanks in advance

I have a freesync monitor, and I want to upgrade my R9 380 and I was thinking buying a reference Vega 56 that on my country is at 536 US because I like amd software and the freesync feature, but I'm a little skeptical about the reference cooler performance, I really love msi and their cooler, but I don't feel comfortable with the nvidia softwares and the msi GTX 1070ti gaming is at 634 USD on my country but I'm not sure if worth the extra money for lower temperatures and a little more performance, there are no 1070 on my country, I hope someone with Vega 56/64 reference cooler can share their experiences

I recently purchased a GTX 1070 ti and an i5-8600k. I use it mostly for gaming and for pool mining with some friends on the side. While mining ethereum using ethminer, I only get 25-26 Mh/s while overclocked to 2.038 GHz. This seems low to me, as I was expecting closer to 29 at stock or even just at overclock.

Edit: Just realized I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry!

Hello all! Budget: $2000 for parts and peripherals. Location: United States Aim: Solid all rounder. I occasionally play games, but I will mostly be using it for coding, video and photo editing, and number crunching. I needs to be small, have no windows and have decent cooling. I don't care about the look inside, just quality of components, price, and compatibility. Monitors: Just one, 60Hz and 1080p is fine. Peripherals: Mouse, keyboard, and building tools. Hi all I was hoping that someone in here might have experienced the same issue as I am having. I have borrowed an HTC Vive from a friend and I am considering buying it from him, as he is interested in selling it. The problem is though, that it runs quite smooth most of the time, but once every 15 minutes, the GPU spikes to 100% usage and it stays at 100% for about 30 seconds, this of course causes terrible performance. When this happens there is also a little bit of a CPU spike, but not all up to 100% and it stops again immediately. Temps on both the GPU and CPU are fine, none of them are throttling. I am not experiencing this issue in normal games, so it seems to only be related to VR and it is in all VR games. I have tried with both Nvidia driver 388.71 and 388.59, but it happens on both of them. Restarts have been tried, Windows is updated and it is build 1709. I have tried having nothing else running at the same time, but it is still the same issue, which I find weird. So I am open for suggestions, see my system specs below. My system specs: ï7-4770K Sabertooth Z87 motherboard 16gb Ram MSI GeForce GTX 1070ti 8gb Gaming

So I'm currently looking to buy a 1070 or a 1070 Ti (im leaking towards the Ti) and i just wanted to check first that i wont get any bad bottlenecks. My 6600k is at 4.7Ghz and gets 567 single and 2190 multi on the cpu-z benchmark. Im currently only gaming on 1080p but looking to upgrade to 144hz or 2k in the next couple months.

Im getting a 1070ti tomorrow, and im not sure what new games I should get. It seems appropriate to splurge a little on titles now because of the new steam sale. I just want some good looking games that I will be able to utilize the new card and the nice 144 hz. Im currently looking at The Long Dark, and the new Tomb Raider, im totally open to suggestions! Thanks in advance for the hours of fun!

I’m building a gaming pc for a 1080p 144hz g sync monitor. Should I get a 1070 or spend the extra and get a ti? What model should I get?

Send Help.. Thanks for dropping by. Little back story, I received a bunch of hardware from a buddy who switched to a laptop due to his work. Got some really good stuff, ( i7 8700k, 16gb ddr4, couple ssds ) and of course the EVGA 1070Ti which is a big upgrade from my reference model 480x. He told me about the issue with the card, which is clearly the case. One of the fans doesn't work. So of course I took the card and the other stuff off his hands. Here we are and I'm trying to find some information on what might be the cause. I haven't reached back out to him about if he registered the card, and if I could even RMA it etc. The left fan ( closest to the inputs ) is working, and damn. ITS LOUD! Maybe because its trying to do two jobs. Its the right fan that is having issues. I have installed the lastest drivers from EVGA ( 441.41 ) everything is working. Until I load the game and the fans kick on. I have filmed a world star quality video and uploaded them here.. This one I booted up Destiny 2 and shot it. Then I took it off to show it not getting caught on anything. Set up follows: i5 6600k (skylake) 16gb ddr4 asus hero maixmus viii and a new keyboard that I can't even get into BIOS with ( anne pro 2 ) lolz Any help would be great. Thanks!

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/fZpsyf Hi all, This is a build that I have come up with for a new PC as it looks like im going to be returning my current build back to PCSpecialist. How does this build look? Any noticeable issues or problems that could creep up? Im sure loads of you will say go for an 8700k but im not sure i want to spend the extra cash on the cpu and the more expensive motherboards that go with it. My current 7700k is perfect for my use. I use the PC mostly for gaming and some light internet usage. I like to play games such as GTA5, Cod: WW2, PUBG, Destiny 2 and maybe some other newer games in the future. I already have a monitor and peripherals and i will be playing at 1080p. I would like the build to look good but most importantly run games on very high settings over 60fps. Currently i love the way my 1060 and 7700k work when playing games so im sure a 1070ti will perform even better. Any suggestions and help will be appriciated, My budget is £1500 ish and i'll be looking to buy and build in the new year. EDIT: Oh and i should mention that i already own a 2TB HDD that won't be returning with the build as i bought it seperately.
