Hello, I have a question for those who can answer it or give insight. I'm currently in the works of saving for my 1st pc build (good ol tax refund :D), but am wondering if the 1080ti will lower the cost of 1070's or even 1080's? I noticed that my cpu that I chose (Intel I5-7600k) dropped by ~$20 CAD, so curious if with a new GPU launch, if previous cards would have their price decreased by a small amount.

I have a Galax GTX 1070 HOF edition with 3xDisplayPort 1.4, 1xHDMI, and 1x(DVI?). I am upgrading to 3 22 inch 1920x1080 monitors, and have a few questions: 1) Since the monitors I'm using only have DVI inputs, will I be able to use all 3 DisplayPort ports on the GPU and use a DisplayPort to DVI-D cable for all three monitors? 2) Will I need to use Nvidia Surround to setup the monitors? I have read the compatible graphics cards on the Surround download page and the 1070 is not there (along with the 1080). So will Nvidia Surround work? Thanks!

I'd apprechiate people's honest opinions, and why you feel this way. If you where looking for a GTX1070 for a black and red themed build, which one would you choose?

Hello, I recently bought myself I GTX 1070, installed it into my PC, and began gaming. The 1070 had a surprsingly high FPS when playing ANY game on Ultra. Most games would easily make it over 100 FPS, until I noticed an issue. Whenever the game needed to render something new, my card would dip to an extremely low FPS. Subnautica, a game I like to play for example, would normally run an easy 120+ FPS.. When loading a new section of the map however, it would dip well below 30. Now, at first I thought this was just a natural happening, as it was an early access game that wasn't optimized. To test, I slapped in my old GTX 745. Of course, the max FPS on the 745 was far lower than the max I had gotten on the 1070, but I did notice something shocking. When rendering a new area, the 745 would only dip slightly below its normal FPS. It seems as if my 1070 cant render something without a major dip in FPS. Im totally stumped about this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

So around Christmas time I bought a EVGA FTW 1070 Hybrid, an AIO liquid cooled card. I have never owned a AIO GPU before, but the pump on this card seems to be incredibly loud, I have been comparing it to the AIO Netpton 240 M in my system and that is silent during operation. At idle the noise levels of the pump seem to be about the same as the Noctua fan in my system at 50% or about 1500 rpm. The noise is hard to describe but it basically sounds like a loud buzzing noise. It's so loud in fact, that I can hear it through my headphones while gaming. Can anybody that has used/owned an AIO GPU before help me decide if I need to RMA my card? I would really hate to send it back, but the noise is pretty annoying.

Title will clear things up. So i have 2 monitors, one 1080p 144hz display and a smaller 60 hz 1366 x 768 display. My graphics card is a EVGA 1070 8gb FTW with intel i7 6700k and some 16gb of ram. My pc has no problems running a game, with the 60hz monitor watching livestreams or high quality youtube videos, but there is this thing. When i launch a game on the 144hz display, the 60hz monitor is acting like in slow motion, the video tears a bit. Random slow motion moments with the audio out of sync, meanwhile my game (for honor for example) Runs easy with 150 fps+. But not only when i launch a game, when i launch google chrome on my 144hz and some livestream at the 60hz monitor, SAME THANG.... ITS VERRUH ANNOYING TO WATCH LIVESTREAMS i cannot stand this. I tried to set my 144hz display to 60hz, to match it with the smaller one, and the problem was gone, everything ran fine, but i am not about that 60 fps lock life. Any suggestions? I tried to find something similair to this but did not come to a solution since most of the posts were way outdated. nam sayin

So, Newegg has their presidents day sale and they have the EVGA 1070 FTW edition for sale. I have a Gigabyte Z77 D3sh Motherboard, with 8gbs of 1333 mhz ram. My CPU is a Ivy bridge i5 - 3570k overclocked to 4.2 ghz. My current graphics card is a GTX 960 2gb and was thinking about upgrading to the 1070. I understand I wont encounter bottlenecks at 1080p 60fps. But I'm thinking about buying a 144hz. so will it bottleneck or should I be fine with this processor?

I installed 1070 graphic card on my computer and the windows aero effect just doesn't work. i did google it and tried a lot of solutions but non of them succeeded. I tried installing the latest driver from geforce's website, installed Xtreme Graphic Engine in order to get the most up to date bios (which is F11 as for today) and firmware (21.21.13,7866 today's most up dated). I tried running the windows Aero Troubleshoot and it didn't help in any way. also reinstalling the windows didn't help (not fresh reinstall like format and install but a repair). i navigated to Services in windows and tried "stop", "play" and "Restart" under "Desktop Window Manager" option. when I plug my HDMI cable directly to the motherboard it works like magic both Windows Aero and the transparency across the board. *I did multiple restarts after each change or update. *i have Windows 7 Ultimate installed. *Graphic card driver's version is 378.66 Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello everyone! With the 1080ti being announced very soon, I was wondering if there would be any serious price drops on nvidia cards. Right now there are some pretty good deals at my local microcenter and craigslist (I believe in craigslist an unhealthy amount), but I was wondering if I should really pull the trigger yet. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am looking to build a computer in a Fractal Design Core 500 case, I was wondering if i need a blower style cooler for my gtx 1070 or will a open air cooler do. Because open air cooler 1070s are cheaper over here.

I am getting a GTX 1070. I would like to know if using it in a 8x slot will give noticeably lesser performance compared to a 16x slot.

I don't know what type of monitor I need for gaming! I have a 1070 FE and i5 7600k, imma mainly play BF1, so I know from research 1080p gives me avg 90 fps while 1440p gives me 60fps. Also heard higher refresh rate is better than higher resolution. Should I choose higher fps but lower screen resolution, or lower fps but higher screen resolution? I recently cancelled my Omen 32 I ordered, was scares 60hz was not enough.

So I just bought an i7 6800k processor (which is stable at 4.4Ghz, tried it at 4.2/.0 and stock(temperature at 4.4ghz is only 40 degrees under load with an H115i from corsair)); 32GB at 3000mgz ram; A X99A Sli Plus motherboard from MSI and 2x gtx 1070s, I did buy one of them as the OC version and one of them as the standard as I wanted to test them out and see the difference for myself. When I go into valley the framerate caps at around 30fps no matter if it's on ultra or low, tried running witcher 3 on lowest settings, I only get 60fps, same as if I ran it at max settings. Same goes for Heaven and Cinebench (Open GL not CPU) which gave me the same result as my last setup which was an i5 2500k OCd to 4.5ghz with an R9 390 and only 12GB of ram at 1300mhz. It's been a very long day for me of trying to install and uninstall and re-install drivers over and over, my (Windows 10 pro) decided to die at one point and I had to restore it, completely wiped everything and installed it on a M.2 Drive. I did make sure to use the right PCIE lanes on my mobo for sli too... I just don't know what to do.. Edit: The temps on the card above are 42 degrees Celsius normally and around 58 under load. They are both the Asus Rog Strix 1070s (just one is the OC version and one is not). Edit 2: I have also tried running with only one GPU, same results. Edit 3: Clarified that it was the Open GL result that was the same as my previous setup and not the CPU test.

Hey Guys, I'm currently in the process of planning my first PC build. Although I have built PCs with friends and toyed around with existing builds, I've never done it all from scratch myself. I have most of my parts selected, but I wanted to just put it out there to see if anyone has any opinions, or if I've completely overlooked something that will come back to bite me once I try to put it all together. Personal opinions and criticisms are welcome Parts List To give a bit of background, the PC is going to become another (perhaps primary) location where I game. I currently own an Xbox one, and although I'm quite happy with it, I'd love to see the best the world has to offer. The computer will be setup in my quite spacious room, close enough to hook up to my 40 inch TV if need be. I only have 2 power points, and the PC will most likely be plugged into a power board which has other appliances already connected, I'm a little worried this could be a problem since there seems to be a lot of power being drawn already from these two sockets. I am not near the router in the house, so internet access is still one thing I'm not entirely sure about in the build. However, a couple of friends have mentioned to me ethernet over power adapters. If anyone has any experience with these I'd love to hear how you got on. Of course I could go wireless, but I feel like that's frowned upon. 1. Budget & Location See the link to my part list. I'm already over what I wanted to spend, but I can afford it with a bit of money shuffling. I am Australian, so the parts are in $AUD 2. Aim The computer will primarily be used for gaming, but I may also perform programming work on there for university or my job. I would consider video playback from a HDD and also streaming via YouTube as a secondary main use. 3. Monitors Initially, I am going to run 1 2560 x 1440 monitor. Currently, the monitor I have on my parts list is running at 60Hz, but if I come across a decent 144Hz monitor I may run that instead. As mentioned above, I will also be connecting the computer to my TV (with HDMI in) occasionally. In the future I wouldn't mind adding a secondary monitor, or maybe upgrading to 4K if my rig could run games at that resolution and I could find an affordable display. 4. Peripherals For now, I am not going to buy a mouse, keyboard, or headphones, since I already have some that would work fine. My mouse and keyboard are wireless cheapies that I am not too concerned with for the moment. I will use either my Audio Technica M50xs or Astro A40s for audio. I will however need to purchase a version of Windows. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am building this as I have always wanted to build a PC, and now that I work as a programmer, I feel that having a beefy machine is sort of a rite of passage, and also that having a better understanding of the internals will make me better at my job. And then there's the most important reason.... Cause I want to! Thanks, Jesse

Hey everyone! So i am currently pricing out a new gaming computer. I don't really have a "set" budget but i dont want to spend a stupid amount of money. Im stuck at what graphics card to purchased, i have my eyes on the ASUS Geforce Strix GTX 1070 overclocked 8GB. I originally was looking at the non-OC one but its about a 50$ difference but all the clock speeds are a significant difference with the OC version. Does anyone have any idea on this card? If im paying around 450$ for the 1070 OC should i just spend more money for a 1080 or is there not much of a point!!!

So i want to start a big topic with this. My GTX 1070 which is even overclocked performs worse than my friends GTX 1060 in some games. he has virtually the exact setup as i do (see my info) exept for motherboard and ram. In games like CSGO he gets up to 100 FPS more than me on same settings (we tested this) So WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY SETUP? i have also seen that while rendering my Motherboard goes up to even 78 DEGREES! that cant be good.... hopefully ill get alot of replies when i get back from eating my pizza, peace

So I've built a semi budget/ semi over the top workstation/ gaming pc. Works great but I was wondering if anyone had thoughts as to how I could make the system faster than it is for gaming and loading larger files without focusing to much on overlooking the processor. For the basics I picked out a Asus x99 E WS/ USB 3.1 Motherboard, Gigabyte 1070 G1 Graphics card (might do two with SLI), Intel Xeon 1650 v4 at 3.6 and up to 4 with turbo, 32 gigs DDR4 2400 ECC REG Crucial memory, a Corsair AX1200I and finally a samsung 960 pro 1 terabyte M.2 for the hardrive. With a fan controller and extra fans to pull out the heat. All of this is nicely fit in a Dark Base Pro 900. Also any recommendations on a good capture card and a good professional sound card? Prices aren't really an issue so don't let that deter anyone from ideas.

So I'm looking to upgrade to 1440p for all 3 of my monitors, I am currently running one 1440p monitor and 2 1080p monitors on the sides and I currently have a gtx 970. I know that the gtx 1080 would obviously be better for gaming with that triple screen set up but I am wondering if the 1070 would still do the job just fine since it is 80% of the performance at a lower cost. Just wondering if anyone is running this right now and what they think and if it's worth it to just bite the bullet and get the gtx 1080. I also have a 4790k but that is also going to upgraded to a 7700k along with this.
