Hello, I recently purchased a 165hz gysnc 1440p panel on black friday. It was about 300$ off so i went with it. I have a gtx 1070 and i7 6700k @4.6ghz. I have been using it for a few days and can hit around 70-100fps in most titles but am wondering how far down i would need to turn graphics in AAA games to play closer to that 165hz. Titles i typically play are PUBG, BF1, GTAV, Fallout 4, Etc.... I primarily play shooters but also play games like CIV6 and skyrim remastered a bit. I am currently using a mix of high/ ultra settings in these games. Should i drop down to a high/ medium setting to get closer to this FPS, should i drop lower to just medium? Is it worth the visual fidelity loss for this FPS when i have Gsync. Will i really notcie a difference between high and medium. For most settings i can tell the difference between high and ultra. Is there any settings that kill FPS that makes them worth really lowering all the way. Sorry for so many questions in one post and thanks for any help!

From the past, all of the top-tier "ti" branded cards get superceded by a "70" series graphics card in performance, with a slight bump in performance. I can say it is safe to assume that the GTX 2070 (or 1170, whicher is chosen for Volta) will be at least on par or up to 5% faster than the 1080ti. Typically, the "80" series is 15-25% faster than the "70" series. This is only speculation though, but it seems with past events, if history truly does repeat itself, in Volta's case, next year is going to be far more interesting for gaming.

Hi everyone, I am probably not in the right topic nut that the closest that I found. Does GPU rigs for mining will also performe well for cg rendering using redshift (https://www.redshift3d.com/) or octane render. Or I will get some bottle neck some how ? Like that one for example: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/COLORFUL-Mining-Bitcoin-Geforce-GTX-1060-Graphics-Card-6GD5-GAMING-Motherboard-H81A-BTC-V20-Miner-ATX/32818489668.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.10EDNM Thank you for your advises

Hey everyone, my first topic but I figured I would get some more input to deciding onmy next upgrade. Currently I have an i7 860 at 4.0Ghz with 16gb of ram and a 1070. gaming performance just isn't where I want it to be and i am looking to do an upgrade. I am torn between a 4770k that is on Craigslist locally for 400 OBO with a bad mobo. Or should I wait and upgrade to a 1600x? With the 4770k I would be able to keep the ram I currently have. Any input is gratly apreciated.

I found a $400 1070 FTW and was wondering if I should a) wait for it to go on sale for more because of Black Friday b) buy it now c) not buy and get a 1060 For context I have a i5 4690k and 960 SSC 2GB at the moment. Any other specs can be found on my profile. My rig is for gaming, if anyone is curious.

I've had a FreeSync 144Hz monitor with a R9 380 for almost 2 years now, and i love the smooth gameplay experience. Now it's time to upgrade. I'm torn between buying a GTX 1070 off of my friend for $300 and losing FreeSync, or buying an RX 580 for about $300-$350 and keeping FreeSync. Which seems like the better option? Buying a G-Sync monitor is out of the question.

What is the difference between the GTX 1070 FTW and the GTX 1070 FTW DT? Does the DT just have the original's power delivery over heating issue fixed?

1. Budget & Location Budget: around £1000-1200 Location: UK Don’t mind pushing the budget a little however, may well try to resist 2. Aim Main aim for the Build is a sort of entertainment centre, gaming, films, tv (mostly at the same time) ect. Currently my most played game is Runescape however I do have a growing library of other games that I am hoping to start playing more which I can’t with my current setup, it would also be nice to get into a little streaming / recording, even if it is just to dabble with no serious intent as yet 3. Monitors I am planning on running 2 monitors + at times my tv all 1080 and possibly in the future a projector / other tv 4. Peripherals Currently have all the prehiperials I need, looking to upgrade eventually, but not at the same time as I do the main build Mouse- Logitech m720 Keyboard –Logitech k350 Speakers – Logitech z523 Headphones – audio technica MSR7’s with modmic 4.0 I will be looking to get a copy of windows 10 pro 5. Why are you upgrading? Looking to upgrade from my laptop which has lived on my desk for the past 4 years, finally having saved enough to build a desktop, also having slowly accumulated a few games, which I am now properly wanting to play, and I’m finding that 20 fps on minimum just not good enough (picture attached) 6. Planned hardware CPU – 1700 (X?) Motherboard – MSI Mortar B350 GPU – 1070 (brand / style to be decided, probably a blower style) PSU – Corsair SF 600 Ram – 16GB (corsair LPX?) Optical – blue ray drive (eventually) Storage – Samsung 960 Evo 500Gb (long term HDD will be bought and added) Case - bit of a special case to me, the first case I was given when I started my apprenticeship, but ill save that for the build log *while it is my first build, I maintain upwards of 400 pc's at work

I recently bought the Asus - STRIX B350-F AM4 motherboard, and me being the smart person that I am, didn't check Crossfire and SLI support. After I bought it I checked this and saw that it supports Crossfire, but not SLI. For my new build, I was thinking about buying a 1070 8GB, and if I needed more power in a few years, I could add another. But since the motherboard that I bought doesn't support SLI, I can't do that. So would it be a better idea to buy a new 1070 8GB or to reuse my RX480 4GB that I already have, and buy another one, using them in crossfire, since the motherboard does support that? I need the computer to run games like CS:GO, PUBG, and Overwatch preferably very well, and I am going to be going to school for film making, and want to have good render times and all that. Any advice on which is the better option taking into account pricing, benchmarks, and longevity of the relevance of the card/s? Thanks for the help.

Hello and Good Morning. I have this weird issue with a computer I just updated yesterday and I can't seem to figure it out. To give you a bit of context.... this is a PC I built in Early 2014 and originally it had running a GTX 770 and a Intel 4770k. A few weeks ago I decided to update the GPU to a GTX 1070 so I can run games with max settings and/or use a new 4K display in the next few months. I settled for the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X card since it was on sale on Newegg... etc etc. Last Friday my card arrived, so I dismantled my entire PC and reassembled it on a new case. Prior to that I prepped the computer by uninstalling the old gpu drivers using DDU and doing the "Clean New Card" option they have. After I assembled the computer, it turned on normally and I installed the new updated drivers using GeForce Experience. Everything worked fine for the first 24 hours, and then I started to have issues. At first I noticed that when I started to play a game, after like 15 minutes or so my entire screen goes black and the PC stops responding completely. Did a reset I could not get it back to start. I went ahead and re-seated the RAM and GPU, turned it back on and that seemed to fix the issue. Then after an hour or so, the issue came back... but this time it just happens randomly. Sometimes it happens while playing a game, or it just happens if I'm using my PC in general (like viewing File Explorer). The last time it did happen, I noticed that I could still hear the sound of the game I was playing even with all the displays showing nothing but a black screen. So far here is everything I've tried so far with no luck: Re-Seated both RAM and GPU, Re-installed Drivers, check power cables, check HDMI/DVI cables, went into the Asus BIOS and switch the IGPU setting to PCIE. I also did a temperature check on the GPU and CPU and they seem to be normal at around 68 C at MAX. Here are the specs of my PC just in case: -CPU Intel 4770k -RAM Adata XPG V2 DDR3 2400 16GB kit -Motherboard ASUS Maximus Impact VI -PSU Corsair 750W -GPU MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB I can't seem to find a way to fix this issue and it's driving me nuts.

So I'm currently looking to buy a 1070 or a 1070 Ti (im leaking towards the Ti) and i just wanted to check first that i wont get any bad bottlenecks. My 6600k is at 4.7Ghz and gets 567 single and 2190 multi on the cpu-z benchmark. Im currently only gaming on 1080p but looking to upgrade to 144hz or 2k in the next couple months.

I’m building a gaming pc for a 1080p 144hz g sync monitor. Should I get a 1070 or spend the extra and get a ti? What model should I get?

Hi guys! First of all, I hope this is the right place to put my topic... (It sounded like the "Graphics Cards" in the Hardware forum were for more detailed hardware questions...) But here we go... I'm thinking about upgrading my, really disappointing, 2-Way SLI MSI GTX 660 TF III cards to one MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X... Which would be a huuuge and noticeable upgrade! But can't quite figure out if 1080 Ti would be worth the extra costs or a "total overkill" ? So the regular 1080 came to my mind and also did the smaller 1070/1070 Ti... To be honest... I actually don't game anymore... It does happen thought, and are games like GTA V, Watch Dogs 1 & 2, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Call of Duty, Mafia III, BF3 & 4 and a bunch of other smaller games... I usually only use my workstation for webbrowsing and managing my servers... (Sometimes some Photoshop and Lightroom) ... BUT! - Please don't make your decision on the missing gaming part. I just want to know if I, in real life (not just hardware specs), actually get more value from the extra costs on a 1080 Ti versus the smaller cards. I hope that you guys are willing to help me out here, so thanks in advance!! The prices here in Denmark, as I write this topic: - 1080Ti: $990 USD - 1080: $733 USD - 1070Ti: $663 USD - 1070: $631 USD (All MSI GeForce GTX Gaming X!) Full PC specifications are available under my profile, but the most important are as followed: CPU: Intel i7-4770K (Cooling: Corsair H80i v2) Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43 GAMING Storage: Soon 2x MZ-75E500B in RAID0 RAM: 16GB 2133MHz PSU: Cooler Master GX750W (Should have the required cables for a 1080Ti) ... Bare with me.. It's 4 years old...

So I recently started playing Shadow of War. Using Geforce Experience it auto configures the image quality to Ultra, however despite it being auto set to ultra, my frame rate is still consistently below 50fps, dipping sometime below 30. Even when I auto config within the game it sets everything to auto, so my assumption is my rig should be able to handle 60fps at Ultra(?). My specs are a Ryzen 7 1700, Msi Geforce 1070, and 32gb of ram. I'm running the game off of an ssd, and I don't have Large Page Mode enabled but I'm working on getting it turned on, but I doubt that alone will fix my problem... right? p.s. When running ultra, the hottest my GPU has gotten is the 71-74C range, so its not throttling.

Hello, I am building my new pc this days and so far I have everything bit the gpu. The specs so far are: i7 6700k, msi M5 motherboard, evga 750W psu, 16GB or ram, 450GB SSD and a phanteks case. I choose a Dell u3415w as my monitor and now I try to choose my gpu. My dyllima is the following one. To have one 1070 to start with or to go for an older solution and have two 970 in sli, bying one now and the second one after some time. I am planning to use my pc for design and gaming, mostly rally and fps, and I quoted like to have an average of at list 60fps. Thanks for your time and I am sorry for the long post. I am waiting your answers
