I'm am upgrading my PC since the last one is now about 7 years old, I primarily use it for playing games and it does do that well, but as of late to play some of the games I've gotten into I only get around 20 fps at medium or low settings. I already had an Asus 1070 Turbo I installed and I recently installed a Zotac 1050, sometimes I feel like it gives me more performance and other times I feel like I'm bottlenecking my 1070. Initially my performance was slightly decreased because of the 1050 but I moved my M.2 SSD to the other slot and my performance seems to be better than it was before. My motherboard is the Asus ROG Maximus IX Code, so it has two x16 pcie slots, which I have the gpus installed in. I initially had my SSD installed in the M.2 slot which is hidden under the ROG symbol panel but moved it to the m.2 slot on the bottom of the motherboard which requires a bracket, and that seems to have increased my performance. How can I best configure my hardware and my settings to get the most out of this setup?

Hello all.. So I am looking at potentially buying a gaming laptop, I was looking around and saw the Helios 500 on newegg, It is a full amd Config with a vega 56 and a DESKTOP Ryzen 7 2700... pushing the price to about 1800 currently. I was also looking at the intel counterpart at about the same price but it has a i7 8750H with a 1070.. Not exactly sure which one would be the better suit. I've seen benchmarks of the vega 56, and it seems its pretty on par with a 1070. But the i7 is where i'm not sure on, is that mobile i7 comparable to the ryzen 7 2700? I understand that RTX laptops just got announced... From the prices I've seen, they are soaring above the 2k limit I have for a budget. I am going to be using this laptop mainly for gaming and also media content(mixing music). Any opinions or recommendations? Is the AMD config worth it? Or should I pass on it? Thanks! Link: HERE Edit: I am usually a intel/nvidia fan... Never really liked AMD just this laptop got my attention.

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1070-gtx-ti-asus-rgb-nickel I wanted a rgb waterblock for the 1070ti (asus strix), but the description says only for the Asus cerebrus 1070ti and asus turbo 1070ti, so will it fit(i.e is it the same PCB or something else?) Also ekwb always recommends using only their own fluid for the cooling because they say that if anti-corrosives are absent in the liquid, then the blocks will deteriorate, so my question is whether I can use Primochill vue as a coolant.

I'm just wondering what the best gpu option would be to pair with an Intel Xeon E5-1620 v4

Good afternoon, I'm looking for the pin connector for this GPU. i believe its a 8 pin to 2-6 pin (all male) but i could be wrong. Here's a link to one potential product. https://www.amazon.com/COMeap-Express-Graphics-Compatible-Seasonic/dp/B07BJ2BP3X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1545333630&sr=8-3&keywords=8+to+male+2+6+pin

Do any of you happen to have any background information about the msi gtx 1070 quicksilver? Why is it a limited edition? What does quicksilver mean in this context? Is there any diffrence between this and a regular msi gaming x card? Just being curious since i just bought one.

Hi, Looking for a laptop for programming in Unity and VR use. High battery life (6+ hours) Programming (fast CPU, capability to get 24GB+ RAM) 1070+ GPU 120hz+ display Good keyboard/touchpad I'm intrigued by eGPU but it seems to be weird to have a laptop with 1060/1070/1080 and eGPU, I don't think my unity programming would go too well with a weak internal GPU when using just the laptop.for coding. It looks like MSI GS65 Stealth is probably the laptop but just looking for validation or competitors (Asus ROG Zephyrus? I saw some other brands have a mechanical keyboard incorporated into the laptop, but I'd dock it sometimes so that might not matter too much). Thanks!

I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU towards the end of Jan 2019 and I'm trying to decide between 1070ti and Vega 56. Currently Vega 56 is @ £360 for strix edition. Cheapest 1070ti is @ £370/80 but the more appealing/beefier versions are @£409 ish. Either one I pick I'm going to need a new PSU, currently got a 500w 80+ gold by Silverstone (I believe). 1070ti would just get by on it but it's cutting it too close for my liking. PSU will be an additional ~£70-80 Pros for 1070ti: it is undoubtedly faster Cons for 1070ti: it'll cost £400 +PSU Pros for Vega: it's cheaper, comes with 3 free games, freesync Cons: it's not as powerful Either card will be paired with a ryzen 1600x @4ghz and 16gb ram @3000mhz I have a 1080p freesync panel but range only goes up to 72hz Which should I pick? I could get away with not getting a new PSU for the 1070ti but I will have no choice with Vega. Currently all Vega reviews are back dated for when the Vega was completely overpriced due to mining. Sorry if formatting is horrible; on Mobile. Thanks!

Hey, haven't posted in awhile but I felt like asking for some help. So I have watched a lot of tutorials on GPU overclocking and most people say its relatively safe with Pascals Bios so I decided to do it but have a few questions still left unanswered. -GTX 1070 Strix OC -i7 6700k To start is it okay to keep adaptive mode on my power management as I do not want my GPU clock constantly at boost? Next question is about fan curves; is the fan curve okay? I haven't had an issues with my temperatures on Valley benchmark, firstrike, or any other games and they stay below 65 degrees Celsius. (this may be a silly question so sorry, i'm just a noob) Last question is spikes like in the photo below are okay right? I expect this is when I launch chrome (with hardware acceleration) and watch youtube etc. Results- In the end I am happy with my results (5-6% increase) but any recommendations would be appreciated thanks Thanks for taking the time in reading, sorry if these seem like really noob questions or silly but I just would like to be 100% sure and educate myself further in overclocking to have more confidence in the future.

I just upgraded my system to a Ryzen 5 1600, and a Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-rev-1x#kf) motherboard. I had a 970 in there before I received a 1070 off of my friend. Everything worked fine with the 970. The 1070, not so much. My motherboard has 2 PCIE x16 slots. One running at x16 (top slot), one running at x4 (bottom slot). The 1070 will boot fine from the bottom x4 slot. The x16 slot will allow the system to turn on, but will not display anything. I've updated the BIOS, updated the drivers, and the 1070 worked in my friend's computer before I got it from him. I'm at a loss at what could be wrong other than RMA'ing the motherboard to see if that PCI lane is messed up. But that just doesn't make a bit of sense to me since the 970 was working fine from it.

Hello all, Ok so. I need some serious help because I'm sick of pulling my hair out for about 2 months now with issues after building my first pc ever. First I had bsod for a month before swapping the ram over into the other slots and that fixed that issue. This is my parts that I used to build my new pc: - asrock ab350 k4 gaming mb - ryzen 5 2600x - g-skill fortis 16 gig 2400mhz (x2 8 gig sticks) - asus strix gtx1070 oc 8 gig - viewsonic 27" 2k 60htz monitor - 120 gig ssd for windows - 1tb western digi blue for games and storage (only old part this is a 2010 part) - coolermaster bronze 650w psu Ok, for a start, the above computer cannot run counter strike source (YES SOURCE) fps ranges from 30-300 mostly sits under 100 and dips very frequently to 30-40-50.... It runs csgo with a solid 150 fps lets say all set to high or ultra. It also runs rise of the tomb raider on max with no dips under 60fps. The only other game I notice runs horrible is now pubg going down to as low as 30 which is basically unplayable like css. What I have done or tried: - check ram speeds bios setup / setting - install all latest drivers - windows power settings to max - nvidia options have now all been lowered or turned off completely (vsync, aa etc etc) plus set to max performance - different resolutions - run anti virus scans - clean registry - disk cleanup - run sfc/scannow - run mem test - run driver verifier - remove extra start up items - turned off xbox game dvr via powershell - overclocking gfx card All of this has achieved 0 change the change of 5fps is not worth mentioning or able to actually measure, so it made 0 difference. Counter strike source still runs at 30-90 fps which basically makes it unplayable (or at least not very enjoyable). Am I just really dumb thinking this pc should be getting 300 fps flat ? I'm completely at an end of ideas. I'm leaning towards the fact some hardware may be faulty because the performance is very sub par for what I've built ?????? If that was the case would I get more bsod's ? Or can you have faulty hardware that "works" and does not cause a bsod but causes some other issue ??? One other thing I can note or add is for a first time ssd user, I have to say I do not see any improvement AT ALL over a standard hard drive.... this is another great disappointment as I wasn't going to bother with one in the first place then I did... for what ?? my system takes a good 30 seconds plus to get to the windows login page (even if it was asleep, not power off) then takes a good 2 mins at times to load up windows fully.... Is this normal for an ssd ? why do we even bother with them ? Recently I have constant windows explorer crashes also when I try to view file details, It locks up and crashes certain folder are 100% guaranteed to do this, It happens with both the brand new SSD and the 8 year old HDD. Also before anyone bothers mentioning I have a 60htz monitor so I only need 60 fps. I understand this but 30 fps is "f"ing terrible Please help, because this is extremely frustrating and I feel like I have 100% failed in building a pc. Thanks for reading if you did

I have a 1050 ti and I am looking to upgrade to a 980 Ti or 1070 both about $250 On Ebay. What Card should I buy and does the 980 Ti have support with Nvidia GeForce Experience and have working drivers. Thank!!

I'm asking whether my areocool integrator 500w would be sufficient for my build. I have used it for a year now with my 1050ti and i3 7100, h110m-r motherboard. And now i'm upgrading to a 1070 (zotac mini one) and have already ordered an i5 7600k with a cpu fan aswell. What i intend on doing is installing the cpu before i get my graphics card at christmas though not entirely sure if it is worth getting a new PSU for the system. Also not entirely sure how PSU's work as in do thay all have the same cables? so i can still plug in all the same things or do they have more or less cables.. if so, what one can i get which has the same cables as the integrator? Though the integrator has held me up for 1 year and most people with issues had them earlier. So not sure if i can keep the integrator for a bit after the 1070, like half a year or another then get a new psu... https://pcpartpicker.com/user/georgech900/saved/#view=nC3kdC so as you can also see I have put an evga supernova there as a possible upgrade psu but i still want opinions whether i should or not upgrade, hopefully you read the passage above.

Greetings! My System specs are as follows: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600k RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk GPU: Inno3d GTX 1070 twin X2 V4 Storage: 120 GB Kingston SSD, 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD My GTX 1070 is not from a reputed brand, I know that. When idle, the card's temperatures linger around 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. I am running a very modest overclock with base clock of 1526 and boost clock of 1703 MHz. When in games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the card goes up to 75 degrees with fan speed of 84% and clocks reaching about 1850 MHz, and under synthetic benchmarks, such as the Unigine heaven, temps go up to 82 degrees ( temp limit set to 86 degrees and TDP at 105%) and fan speeds up to 93% while clocks go up to 1900MHz with GPU Boost. But, under software like MSI Kombustor, the card reaches 86 degrees and holds it there constantly, with fans ramping up to 95% but clocks only around 1825 MHz. When viewed in software like GPU-Z, it shows PerfCap reason: Thrm. So I wanna ask that is my card behaving Ok, or is the thermals and the incompetent fan, as it seems, limiting its performance? Please help me clarify this. I am attaching a benchmark report from AC Odyssey Report_2018-11-28_22-01.html

Hello, I am currently looking at a selection of high end gaming monitors and have 1 question. Should i buy a monitor with a 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 240hz display, or buy a monitor with a 2560 x 1440 or 3440 x 1440 resolution with a 144hz display? I currently use a monitor with a 1920 x 1080 resolution with 144hz. The graphics card in my rig is an 8gb asus 1070.

So I was going to upgrade my 1070 to a 1080ti but due to the fact that nvda stopped production on them they are very expensive now and I am not sure if I should get one. At first I was thinking on upgrading to a 2080 instead because the retail prices are similar but then I had an idea. 1070 cards are very very cheap theses days and I was wondering if I should get a second one and just do SLI. It doesn't seem to bad of an idea because the cards are so cheap and I will also be getting value out of my current card. Some people say that SLI will only just make one graphics card work for some games but I mostly play overwatch, rainbow six siege, and some destiny 2. Does SLI work for those games. Anyway, if anybody has any tips on what I should do for an upgrade please let me know. PS, is it worth getting computer parts on black Friday/cyber Monday Thanks in advance

So I can't figure out why my CPU And GPU are not performing to there 100% in most games! For e.g in GTA V I am getting around 60% GPU AND CPU Usage and around 40% GPU AND CPU USAGE in CS GO! In Far Cry 5 with the resolution scale set to 1 the GPU AND CPU are around 60-70% used but with the resolution set to 2 the bottleneck gets removed and the GPU usage goes to 100% I am very confused! NOTE: I recently upgraded to i7 6700 from i5 6400 and 1070 from 1050Ti My Specs: Core i7 6700 with Cooler Master TX3 EVO (so the temp are pretty low around 60-70c) 8 GB DDR3 1600mhz Ram EVGA FTW 1070 8 GB (temps around 70c) Thermaltake Smart Series 700 watt PSU ASUS H110m-k MOBO If you need any further info please ask! And NO Vsync is not ON!

I bought a Zotac 1070 AMP Extreme during a black Friday deal shortly after they launched because it was the cheapest 1070 on the market, at only $370 USD on the date of purchase (11/25/16) and have been exceedingly happy with the results, especially with the thermals. I've got a nice roomy case for it to breath, and even OC'd I never see it tip 60 degrees. Usually in the 40's under load and high 20s-low 30s on idle (depending on ambient room temp). I'm curious an your guys' thoughts on why Zotac discontinued the cooler style for the 1070, but seemed to just drop it onto the 1070ti when it launched. Here's the card that I purchased: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500409 And here's the 1070ti that has what looks like the same cooler, but with a different shroud. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500429&Description=zotac 1070 ti&cm_re=zotac_1070_ti-_-14-500-429-_-Product
