Hi guys, I am currently running a 3800x and a MSI GTX 1070 8gb card from a few years ago, im really looking at a GPU upgrade this year as want to be able to run the AAA games coming out near over the next few months. now obviously i know all the new Nvidia cards are currently launching but with stock issues i dont really wanna wait for the 3070 release to not be able to get one for months anyway. any suggestions on cards to look at in the mean time? i was expecting prices to drop with the new launch but obviously stock issues has kinda screwed that

Suggestion needed!! Hi I want to upgrade my My gpu from gtx1070 to rtx3080 will I have any issues with my CPU and also should I upgrade my RAM. By the way I am a game development student and this pc will mainly be used for content creations.

This is going to be a long post, but Hello and welcome to my hell, Recently here i got a new GPU to upgrade on my PC. I was previously running an Asus 970 and have been for about 4 years. Since then i have upgraded my CPU, MOBO and Memory without issue, and everything has worked great for the past 2 years. Now after dropping in the new GPU, i have had nothing but strange crashing problems. Modern Warfare has inconsistent results. Sometimes i will get into a game and run around a bit, then proceed to crash. Sometimes while loading into a lobby it'll crash. Usually i get some form of directx error, specifically Dev Error code 6068 or 6070. The other more demanding game I've tried is Assassins Creed Origins. This one seems a bit more consistent as it crashed a few times when i hit combat. Sometimes it did when i was just roaming around but no other real inconsistencies on this one. I also tried GTA 5. I felt like i should have been able to hit higher graphics settings but i was able to have a lot of stuff on high/max and it ran with really decent frames. I was unable to replicate a crash on this one (i believe it was running dx11) Now onto what ive done to troubleshoot: Started off using DDU to get fresh driver installs. Then i got a new SSD (which i was planning on doing anyways) and get a fresh OS install. Then i wiped all my games off of any drives and reinstalled MW on my new SSD. Ive verified no OC on GPU is running, no overlays are on, checked windows updates, tested with different refresh rates, multiple DDU wipes and fresh driver installs, Performed clean boots for testing, Deactivated my intel GPU since i dont use it. I am quite certain i am running into software mainly because i have ran stress tests on my GPU and it held temps fine and never crashed while running more than twice as long as any of my tests in game. Now one of the weird instances ive noticed is after testing with my 970 reinstalled, i am having weird issues with what looks like lag in MW. I frequently have people freezing and animations stuttering even though i use ethernet, no one was using the internet, and had 70 ping (i have played previously with 90 ping and never had these issues). I have been going crazy over here and am nearly ready to send this gpu into the atmosphere but idk what to do at this point. I am currently tempted to send my pc to Memory Express but at this point i want to try what i can to avoid this. There may have also been some steps that i took while testing that i forgot about so please let me know what i can try. Thanks for checking out my post Edit: Above all probably the weirdest thing i failed to mention is that i have previously used this card already. The guy had asked that i test it and never had any issues on my machine with it, and he said since then it never really got used. So idk how this makes any sense but please let me know if anything about this sounds familiar or possibly fixable.

Ok So I have never bought an Nvidia Founders Edition. This time I am thinking about it...Likely the 3070...a 3080 would be nice, but god only knows what the price will end up here in Canada. Reason for FE is, I can order it direct from Nvidia, as opposed to waiting for AIB makers stock to eventually trickle down to Canadian retailers. And Honestly I just upgraded from 6600k to a 10600k and I REALLY want to have a high end GPU to match it. I currently have an EVGA 1070, and in the most recent games i have been playing it is showing it's age. Red Dead Redemption spicificy, but it was a crappy port anyways...but you all know what I mean. When you get the itch to upgrade... So question is: 1) I never got FE cards because of the blower cooler niose..but Ampere has something new...but from what I can see, the FE card will blow the hot air up too my Noctua NF-u120s heat sinc and increase CPU temps on my already OCed and hot 10600K. What do you guys think about this new cooler design for the FE 2) I honestly am broke (I drive an old Dodge so...) Anyways, I have never sold any of my old PC Hardware, honestly seems like a hassle. But selling my EVGA 1070 SC 'may' be the difference between the 3070 and the 3080 (Wheather FE OR AIBs) So my second question is, how much do you all think an EVGA 1070 SC is worth used? Cheers!

Hey you beautiful people I am starting too loose hair over this horrible problem, so now i have to make a post about it. The problem i am experiencing is pretty simple, games wont launch. This happens across Steam and Epic Games launchers. When i press play it goes about 3 seconds nothing much happens and it stops the process, and i have to press play again, stuck in a endless loop of play button. My Hardware: Motherboard: Asus B450-Plus Ram: 16GB 3000Mhz, dont remember the brand SSD: Intel SSDPEKNW010T8 1000GB Graphics Card: ASUS Gtx 1070 Mouse: Logitech MX518 Keyboard: Razer Cynosa Chroma So i have tried a lot of diffrent things now as i have google for about 8 hours into this problem. Things i have tried that has been recommended: - Verify game cace on games - Reinstall steam - Reinstall games - Reinstall all drivers - Update BIOS - Install drivers for keyboard, mice and headset - Remove all peripherales like controllers - Turn off gsync - Run games as administrator - Run games in compability mode - Format and reinstall Windows The wierd part is that some games actually work. Take for example in the battle.net launcher, all games there launch without a problem and i have been playing World of Warcraft like a loon, considering thats the only game i can play nowadays. And in Steam, Destiny 2 and Getting over it with blabla works aswell, but CODBO3, CSGO, GTA5, Anno 1800 wont launch. Can someone pls help me? or put me out of my misery. <3

Hello team! My laptop is a Razer blade stealth 2017 and a Razer core v2 (with an EVGA 1070 graphic card). For the past 4 days, when I play a game like CSGO, Assassins Creed Origins or while using a rendering engine like Lumion and a 3D modeling tool Vectorworks, the graphic card appears to suddenly power off in the egpu enclosure. The lights of the Razer core go off, the fans slow down and all the games and softwares just freeze or crash. However, the Razer core doesn’t switch off itself as my laptop remains powered on (my laptop doesn’t have a battery anymore. I had to remove it because it was bulging). While performing lighter tasks like typing, surfing the Internet, this issue doesn’t happen. I’ve been using the core for 2 and a half years now with the same laptop and haven’t faced an issue till now. This appears to be some sort of hardware malfunction maybe? Please help me resolve this as I depend on this system for my work. Thank you

my MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X fan speed didn't go more than 81% and power limit stuck between 84% to 90% while i'm run furmark and 62fps locked. i flashed GPU bios to new version but nothing change. please help.

I have the Asus GTX 1070 Dual 8GB. My problem with it is that the fans is at 29% when idle. I've read somewhere else on here that I should update VBIOS, which I tried but it said "no need to update", so I guess it's already up to date? As you can see on the website the update states "1.DUAL GTX 1070 series now support 0dB function." Yet it doesn't work on my GPU. Hi, I recently acquired an Acer Predator (G9-793-76YT) Laptop with a GTX 1070 (and an I7 7700HQ). I did some benchmarks to compare against my Lenovo Desktop Y710, which also has a GTX 1070 (I5 6400). These benchmarks, I think, are not going to impacted by the CPU (in this case). The laptop came out on top in both benchmarks. This is odd since I would have thought the desktop GTX 1070 would beat the laptop. Benchmarks... Superposition (1080p extreme) - Laptop = 3387 Desktop = 3244 Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0- Laptop = 2151 Desktop = 2096 Is this normal? Shouldn't a desktop GTX 1070 peform better than that of a GTX 1070 in a laptop?

I had a spare zotac gtx 1070 mini I was planning to use in my media center pc. That card had already seen some better days (sawed off the DVI port, warranty is out of question) . Turned out the power supply only had a 6 pin pcie. Tried with 6 pins, gave me an error before post. I looked up the pinouts of 6 pin vs 8 pin and I thought I could just bridge 3 to 4 and 7 to 8.. So I did. When pressing the power button the motherboard (asus p67 sabertooth) would cycle lights cpu->memory then get stuck at vga. I then found out pin 4 is a sense pin that needs to be grounded and I had bridged it to 12v, undid the bridge and did another one between 7, 8 and 4, still no signal on display. After a few minutes it's warm to the touch as it should be so there is probably no issue with the vrms. PC posts fine when I put the good ol gt 710. I tried it in my other pc, it's recognised but says it's disabled due to a reported issue by the driver. You guys think my mishap killed it for good or should it still work after that?

So I am getting myself a GTI 1070 and it requires 8 pins but my PSU doesnt have 8 pins, so I will just get a 6 to 8pin adapter, googled around a bit and people find that working for them Now the thing that I am worried about is my PSU going to output enough power or should I try getting a new one? These are my specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: B450M PRO-M2 PSU: LC500H-12 V2.2 Ram: 8gigs, but I was thinking of adding 8 more at some point

Hey all! I actually have many questions etc. I am relatively good with computers and have had several builds. I built this system about 4 years ago? Just after the release of the 7700k was released. I've always bought unlocked cpus as after a couple years I tend to oc them as high as possible before throwing the towel in and beginning the new system build. Now unfortunately I think I have a bad chip :( I simply can not get 5ghz and I'm stuck at 4.9ghz @1.375v which I feel is too high for that clock anyway, max load temps are around 65-71*C in prime 95 which is fine (I did delid the cpu). The question I have is there something I am missing? I can provide screen shots etc. Also if I can't get this thing to OC more should I upgrade? I'm currently sitting with 7700k, msi Z270 carbon pro, 32gb gskill ram 3200 ddr4(which I can use for the next build). Corsair h115i v2 and a zotac 1070 amp (I've been wanting to upgrade to the rtx 2080 as there are some super good deals where I live atm, the one store is selling them for less then a rtx 2070 super and from my understanding the rtx 2080 is a better card). Could my cpu be limited by my mobo? Will it bottleneck a 2080. I play games @1440p and I'm not happy with the 1070s performance. Thanks in advance!

These are my specs Ryzen 2700x 16gb ddr4 hyperx 2400mhz ram Gtx 1070 Asrock b450 k4 Aerocool 600w psy 750gb hdd Case has 1 intake and 3 exhaust fans Cpu is using stock cooler. Temps range from 30 to around 43 Have had it for over a year and has ran fine without any problems but 2 days ago I was playing call of duty warzone for a couple of hours and it froze. No input working (numluck caps lock) ctrl alt delete. But fans were still spinning. So I hard reset it but now everytime it starts to freeze even when doing an ordinary task. Like rendering a video or opening a few tabs in chrome or running any sort of game. I can however still open hwmonitor and have left it on and idling for an hour and it doesnt freeze. What I have already tried. Tried 2 different hard drives and one m.2 nvme ssd. Tried the gpu in a different computer and works fine Tried both ram sticks separately Ran memtest on the ram for 3 4 hours showing no errors. Doing a fresh install of windows. All is fine until it reaches the end bit where it says please wait and it freezes there on all hard drives. For the hdd tried different cables. Would greatly appreciate some help to try and work out what the issue is.

Hey there guys. Recently i bought a 1070Ti Asus Strix and so far it's doing great. Games are running smoothly at 120+ fps no prob. temps are pretty good too. Recently i discovered that when at idle the center fan is spinning at it's lowest speed but it is not registered by HW monitor. There it says 0Rpm. When i run a game they ramp up at around 57 58 degrees and everything is normal ,but i think when at idle they should all stop spinning. What do u think about this?

Hey LTT Forum! This is about my first time here so bare with me! I acquired a free gtx 1070 from my friend a while back to find out it was pretty much bricked. After some further testing I found out that it was detected in windows as a gtx 1070 when put in a running system that already had a gpu installed. When it is the primary gpu I am greeted with only a black screen from my monitor, but the “ge-force gtx” logo does light up (if that means anything). I’ve attempted to boot with this gpu in different systems, motherboards and psu’s. I’ve also attempted using the dvi, hdmi and dp ports on the back with still no luck. I’ve torn it apart to see if there were any physical hardware level issues with the card and I can’t notice anything with my own eyes. I don’t NEED this gpu but it’d be nice to put this thing in sli with my current 1070 in my main system! Any suggestions and/or help is appreciated, thanks guys.

While I know that many would say just spend the money on a single card, when you look at possible cost to performance on a budget...there's just not enough evidence to make a counter argument. So, is it worth it? I ask this question. If running an x99 mother board with a 40 PCIe express lanes cpu that gives you two of the PCIe ports at x16 speed and currently running a single GTX1070 is it worth buying another one used and putting in SLI? Try searching on youtube for anyone who does a comparison of the GTX 1070 in SLI vs say the RTX 2080 or 2080ti, there's not many. BUT, if you look, there are one or two. To do a full system upgrade would be hundreds, and at the time of release buying two new 1070s wouldn't make it worth it. But, on eBay today you can find a standard used 1070 around $200. So, would it make sense to spend about $200 on another 1070 and $30 to $40 for the SLI bridge and buy some more time or not spend the money and save longer. See attached comparison video of GTX 1070 in SLI vs RTX 2080ti, seems like since the improvements in SLI support spending $200 would get me close to the performance of a 2080ti for a fraction of the price (of course without raytracing and on only optimized titles). Why don't more youtube creators work on these possible upgrade combinations and show comparable benchmarks to give guidance for those on a budget who need options and already have systems? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwEn5IVv2ws

Hi guys! I need some help with an issue that's been bugging me since I bought my PC a couple of years ago. If I put the power limit on my GPU above 55% the whole system reboots as soon as I enter into a game (not the menu but the actual game). Sometimes it would reboot while watching youtube or doing something a little more graphic intensive in the browser (chrome). My first thought was to change the PSU to increase power and bought a CORSAIR RM750x. Should be MORE than enough for one 1070 and an intel 6600k. No dvd writer, no RGB lighting etc.. I have 16GB DDR4. Latest BIOS, drivers, etc.. I also changed from HDMI to Display Port, turned G-sync on and off.. NOTHING SOLVED THE ISSUE. However I seem to be getting good frame rates at 55% power limit also, not sure how many more I can gain by pushing power limit to 100 or over but is this normal? I will probably buy a new video card in the future but it works fine now for games I play on 1440p.. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!

Hey guys, My components. Asus maximus viii hero I7 6700k 16gb corsair vengeance ddr4 Gigabyte windforce 1070 oc My question is, what display would be worth getting? I've read alot of people claiming the 1070 can do 1440 at 144hz with some settings down on most games. I play warface, and horror games, no other shooters. And I've read it's also a perfect pair with a 1080p 144hz. I was looking at the AOC 1440p 144hz. The one Linus reviewed. Or should I simply go with a 1080p 144hz and be happy with that and not try to push too much to achieve the 1440p 144hz and save myself the disappointment when I have to drop settings anyway. Thank you

Hi, i have an Asus 1070 strix OC and it is very loud @30-50% usage. temps are 60-70°C. Is there a problem wirh my gpu or is it something else? the gpu is placed under a Noctua nh-d15 cooler, does the cooler have an affect on the temps? My case is a corsair 200r, can this case be bad for my temps/ airflow? pc specs: Asus z390 f gaming i7-9700k 16gb ddr4 2666mhz samsung evo 970 m.2 sdd corsair 200r

I'm currently gaming with a gtx 1070 and a ryzen 5 1600 cpu. I wanted this setup that way I could game comfortably at 1440p @ 60fps. I've been playing with this config just under a year and I have been a little disappointed. I feel like when I compare to benchmarks only and copy their settings I'm not getting the fps that they are. I'm averaging 45-55fps on games that should be closer to 60-65. My biggest grievance was with GTA V. I've been playing likes of Resi 2 and Jedi Fallen order. I understand that these are newer games and may be pushing the hardware a bit, but I don't seem to be pushing 100% on the gpu or cpu. Is there something I'm missing or am I wrong about this view?

I upgraded to a 1070, but on most games I play I get 30-50 FPS on all low settings. I’m very confused and am seeking a but of help or advice on why this is happening. pc specs CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g GPU: GTX 1070 8 gigs of ram
