Hi All I'll get right to the point should I keep with my Zotac 1050ti OC and wait for Volta or sell and get a 1080ti? I originally bought a 1050ti to tide me over until the 1080ti was released but it has been released I am having second thoughts. I really want to be able to run new games (Mass Effect Andromeda is one example) at 1080p, 60fps ultra settings. I am hopefully planning on going 4k end of this year or beginning of next year. Thanks.

So a while back, i did some misc. benchmarks in less than a handful of games, with the intention of firstly choosing a replacement for my 160W mini PC, and secondly the helpfully give some kind of reference to other builders. With life "stuff" and studying causing my plans to neatly compile results fall through, I thought I would share what I do have. It has benches from CS:GO, L4D2 and Bioshock Infinite (older, less demanding games). I do have results for metro 2033 that need a write up. The GPUs compared are the Sapphire RX460, Zotac 1050ti and the Intel HD 530 using an i5 6400 with a 160W psu. Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yPQegTgDMz_B4BXmZprRMT5YKje8fVn7FpfvFNEIVu4/edit?usp=sharing Hopefully someone out there finds a use for these numbers on a screen. edit: tl;dr- Given 3 GPUs that are all considered lower end or lower power consumption, what is the relative performance and cost of each in casual/older games (eg those found in alot of steam sales)

yesterday i got my new laptop on my hand which is dell inspiron 7567 1050ti version. unlike others, asia version have only with 4gb ram inside. Is it the cause of the fps drop for my games? I have tested dota 2 (around 55-60fps in high settings) and watchdogs 2 (around 35-45fps in high settings). i have set the power options to the max and updated nvidia drivers

Im one of the unlucky ones who bought the G4400 instead of the G4560... that being said, what GPU shoud i get? Gtx 1050ti are 130-140$ in my area and gtx 1050 is 115$ but i managed to find a Brand New 1050 for only 90$ ! The guy said he won for free on an office giveaway... SO, should i grab that 1050, or 1050ti will give alot more performance? G4400 8gb H110M C3D 1440x900 Display

so i bought a bunch of used parts to build a computer. i got it up and running with windows and drivers installed and running stable (i even had firestrike extreme running). i didnt connect the front audio header as it wasnt a standard connection so i decided to turn off the computer and take a look. i didnt get any big changes and decided to just plug it back in and run some more tests. now it wont post. ive disconnected the graphics card, put two sticks, then one, then a completely new set of 100% functioning ram in, disconnected the hdd, changed the power supply, disconnect all fans, change the battery on the motherboard (the guy told me to try to remove it and put it back in if it isnt working which was an immediate red flag for me but i chose to ignore it). in the process of all this it posted like 5 out of 100+ attempts then it shows " PXE-E61 Media Test Failure " which i assume was just because of the fact that the hard-drive was one of the first things i always disconnected. i always mentally kept track of things that i did to try and get it to post and it would always post to me doing something different to the computer. it was never the same or consistent in anyway. the only two things i havent changed out for new parts are the motherboard and the cpu and need to know which one has the problem. my guess is the motherboard.

I bought a GTX 1050Ti today, specifically an MSI Afterburner 4GB OC Version with Dual Fans. I brought it home super happy cause I've been waiting for an upgrade for years. Then I found out that the VGA to DVI-D converter I bought doesn't work (my monitor is an Acer V206HQL and its maximum resolution is 1600X900). My monitor keeps saying "Cable not Found". I Googled the problem and found that for the newer Nvidia cards, one needs an active converter, preferably a VGA-HDMI one. Can anyone please shed more light on this? What type of converter should I buy? I don't know if this piece of information will help but I tried using the newly bought converter with my old R7 260X 1GB and still it showed "Cable not Found". However, the 260X uses a DVI-I connector and the converter was DVI-D. I assumed that the monitor couldn't output anything because of that discrepancy but I could be wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, fellow computer enthusiasts! I have been doing some serious research on the topic of budget graphics cards. With the information, I have gathered it seems as though the 1050 or 1050Ti are both unbeatable cards for 1080p 60fps gaming with great value. Now let me explain why I am bringing this up as a topic. At the moment I am a student with not much money looking to enjoy a smooth 1080p 60fps experience. So with that in mind, I would like to look into ZOTAC and their line up for the 1050Ti right now, On Amazon, I have the option to choose between their 1050Ti Mini or The 1050Ti OC (Overclocked). Prices for the 1050Ti Mini vary from $129.99 (USD) at the lowest price to $167.41 (USD) at the highest price taking into account special sales an example being Black Friday. While prices for the 1050Ti OC vary from $149.99 (USD) at the lowest price to $166.68 (USD) at the highest price again taking into account special sales. So the question I now ask is should I or anyone be spending their extra $20-$30 (USD) to get two 70mm fans over the cheaper alternative of only one 90mm fan and small form factor? I believe the draw of the 1050Ti OC is that with the better cooling solution it would allow for a more stable and effective overclocking experience. While the 1050Ti Mini has the draw of being a small form factor card that you can put in any PC and turn it into a gaming capable PC. To come to a conclusion Both the 1050Ti Mini And 1050Ti OC are capable 1080p 60fps budget cards and do that very well you will most likely never notice the difference of haveing two 70mm fans over one 90mm fan and you simply better off getting a 1050Ti Mini and a new game or two to go with it. I say this because the 1050Ti is not meant to be a High-performance 4K 60fps VR read GPU. It's for the people like me who just simply want to enjoy the beauty that is PC gaming at 1080P 60fps and simply can't afford to be spending $200-$300 (USD) on a High-Performance GPU. I Will attach a poll to see how many agree/disagree with me on this topic. If you do agree please leave a reply letting me know that. If do not agree then please let me know why I would be happy to hear your side of this topic!

I want to get a new laptop so that i can game on and get some work done on and im kind of stuck because its so hard to compare the 900 series with the the new 1000 series. The first laptop that i may want to buy is an alienware 17 r3 which has a i7-6700hq, 970m 3gb ggdr5, 16 gb of ram, 256gb ssd, 1tb hdd (its used btw so its going to be around 800 dollars) or the new dell inspiron 15 7000 series laptop. Everyone that i have seen kinda says that the 1050ti is better than the 970m but idk. help me out a bit lol

Hello! I was wondering if anyone in the community would be willing to help me decide on a new laptop. I'm torn between if it's worth the extra $400 for a 17" laptop with a 1060 over a 1050Ti. I would love the new MSI Stealth Pro with 1060 because of it's size and good performance, but frankly, is the 1060 needed? I'm only gonna be playing at 1080p (obviously) so would something like the new Dell or Acer computers with their 1050/Ti's be better if I could save the $4-500 for a better Ryzen computer? I play games and stream them to my custom RMTP server so I would still like to manage a 720/60 stream while still maintaining a decent frame rate and graphic fidelity. Many thanks, J

Hello Linus forum, i have a question for you I currently have i3 2100 with hd6670 1gb and 8gb ram,700w PSU (with 6 pin connector for rx 470) I was wondering of upgrading my GPU finally and i am stuck between 1050ti and rx470. Since my CPU is on the lower end of the spectrum i was wondering if its worth getting rx 470 or will it be too bottlenecked to have any significant difference between the two GPUs. Mind also that price difference in my country is almost 50$ (48$ do be exact >.>) so will that price difference be justified or am i throwing my money into the water with rx470. Final two notes: I am not able to change my CPU in AT LEAST 6 months (maybe even more), and i am not hoping to change PSU since i purchased it not so long ago. Any thoughts are welcomed and thanks for reading and replying if you do Peace my Linus friends

Hi, Just need some feedback from you guys. I have a GTX 1050Ti, and at first I just thought to make a single monitor setup with LG 24" LED IPS widescreen monitor. Turns out, some good friend of mine gave me his old 15" LED monitor from Acer(not sure what model, I think its 1024 x 768) but it only have VGA connection. My question is, If I buy an active adapter VGA to DVI. Can I use that monitor as my second monitor, despite different resolutions.

Hey, I'm looking to buy a gtx 1050ti however I'm on a tight budget. I'm not sure if the palit Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 ti 4GB StormX would be a good choice as it's only powered via PCIE on the motheboard. Would this be a good choice? I'm coming from a 560ti as that died on me a month ago and I'm wanting great performance 1080p gaming. Thanks!

So i really wanted to know which 1050 ti is best for the price and best for the performance, right now i'm stuck between the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x7s8TW/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gb-video-card-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-oc) and the Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB OC (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LrmxFT/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gb-oc-edition-video-card-zt-p10510b-10l) , if anyone wants to tell me which is better or one that is superior in price and/or performance to these, please let me know and link the page to the card.

Recently bought a 1050 ti and a Ryzen 5 1500X for my entry level gaming pc, and I need help picking a PSU. Would like to keep the price 50<, but if needed will pay a bit more. I plan on also having 8gbs of RAM, a AB350M motherboard and a 1TB hard drive. I do plan on putting in a SSD when the time is right and possibly overclocking.

So I am looking to buy a laptop to use for mild gaming and heavy 3d modeling. I dont care too much about I/O options. I want to choose from one of the following configurations: GTX 1050 ti ----- i7-7700hq ----- ~$1000 GTX 1060 ------ i5 6300hq ----- ~$1000 or possibly GTX 1060 ----- i7 7700hq ----- ~$1150 I am not sure if the extra $150 is worth it for both the upgraded CPU and GPU. I am looking to get around 4-5 years out of this laptop and I do not want to spend more than 1150 on it. Which configuration is the most suitable for my needs? Any input is appreciated, and if you have any specific laptop recomendations I would be intested. Thanks! (I have been looking at the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming, and the Asus FX502VMs)

The optiplex 980 that I have has: i7 870 16gp ddr3 fury gt 710 psu 235 (stock with the computer) ssd 750evo 250gb Now, I was looking to squeeze my gpu capabilities I had in mind 1050, 1050ti, 1030 but I don't know exactly if the PSU will survive with any of those 1050s... and if it won't bottleneck to the point of being useless to upgrade to them. EDIT: added 2 pics

So after upgrading from a Gainward GT740 to a Gigabyte GTX1050 Ti G1 the Geforce expirience app doesnt load the "Features" tab under the "My Rig" section, the optimal setting that it wants to give my games are the settings from the GT740(for.example to run overwatch on all low with 1336x768 res, altough im running ow now at 1080p, high settings with ~80 fps.) and some other minor stuff, tho it does say in the My rig section that I got a 1050ti. Would a reinstall fix this?

Hi, I'm fairly new to building PC's (I've owned just laptops as long as I remember). I wanted to build a "gaming" PC on a budget, I'm thinking from $500 to $600, I don't own a monitor, so it would be nice to include that as well. I live in Cuba but I plan to purchase the parts in the US (Amazon mainly, unless I find a real bargain). When I say "gaming" I mean I can run all AAA games at least at low specs, I don't care if it's pretty, I just want it to be playable. So far this is what I have thought: -CPU:Ryzen 5 1500x -GPU:Nvidia Gtx 1050ti -Mobo:MSI B350 PC Mate -Ram2x4Gb -HD:WD caviar blue 1tb -PS:evga 430W 80+ certified -case:Thermaltake versa n21 The price rounds up to $600. I'd like to know if you have any suggestions on how to make it a little cheaper so I can buy a monitor. And a couple more things, I haven't decided about the brand of the GPU so far I'm debating between the Asus Strix and the MSI 1050ti. Also I would like some suggestions on the RAM, should I buy them dissipated or not? And I'm not quite sure about the case, I have found some bad reviews about it, it would also be nice if the case came with a couple pre installed fans because I'm very concerned about heat dissipation (CUba is a very hot country). Sorry to give you a hard time but I'm on a really tight budget, so the help will be greatly apreciated

Hey LTT Forums! Around a year or so ago I posted regarding upgrading from my 7770, but never got around to actually doing so. I now have plans to upgrade my entire computer. The computer I'm currently using is still the same: "I've had my 7770 since 2013, and I'm looking for an upgrade. The case I'm currently using is a BitFenix Prodigy, and I have a Athlon X4 750K with 8 gigs of ram and a 430 watt PSU. I game on a single 1080p 60hz monitor which I am very satisfied with, but use 2 monitors for my every-day use." I mostly play esports titles like Overwatch and Legend Leeeg. I also have on-and-off obsessions with modding Bethesda games. Skyrim still runs fairly well, but Fallout 4 poops the bed as you could imagine. Path of Exile is hit-or-miss, as I can get smooth 60fps at random moments, but experience a crapton of stuttering at seemingly random intervals. In terms of day-to-day usage, I do as much as the typical applied math major would do: MatLab, RStudio being the two biggest. The current plan of attack is as follows: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3wBnhq Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3wBnhq/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1500X 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($188.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($77.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($59.88 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card ($122.76 @ Jet) Total: $449.51 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-05-24 18:57 EDT-0400 Any input will be greatly appreciated EDIT: Budget should be ~500$ USD.
