laptops WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR after laptop teardown
BangTheWall posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hey! So yesterday I opened up a laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 330S-15IKB with a GTX 1050) to fix an issue with it's keyboard. While fixing the keyboard I also replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and the GPU just because I had to clean it up anyway. Now today when the laptop was used for gaming, it started getting the BSOD with the error "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR", since it's a hardware issue I started testing the hardware one by one until I started getting the BSOD again when the GPU was under load with FurMark. The error also didn't generate any dump files. Running FurMark, the temps reach around 87C before the fans go 100%, after which it falls back to 82C-84C. The BSOD usually comes when the temps are falling from the high point after the fans go to 100%. Another thing I have noticed after the keyboard fix is that the laptop has started making a clicking sound randomly. Not sure where it's coming from, but I know it's not a HDD (system only has SSD's) nor is it the fans (They are running fine with nothing in the way). I have tried the following. Taking apart the laptop and assembling it again. (Once after I reseated the power connector to the motherboard the BSOD took a lot longer to appear than usually) Repasting everything multiple times Driver updates I am running out of ideas on what to do. Does anybody have any experience or any ideas of what to do? Luckily the keyboard works fine now Files SysnativeFileCollector Perfmon -
I recently upgraded from my Asus GTX 1050 2gb to a Gigabyte RX 590 8gb. Seeing as I no longer needed my old card, I gave it to a close friend of mine who still runs older hardware (an i3 and 8gb DDR3 RAM if I remember correctly) The problem is that he already has an RX 560 6gb and we want to know if it's at all possible to run them in tandem with each other. Could that work with modified drivers? Or would he be better off sticking with just one card? If that's the case, which should he go with?

I have an Asus laptop with a 1050 and I'va noticed that on other people's laptops the gpu runs at a slightly higher clock (~65Mhz) although mine stays cooler. My brother's Dell with the same specs for example scores higher in benchmarks and also behaves better in COD Warzone. I figure it has to do with the vbios and was wondering if I can extract the one on his laptop and flash it on mine since I don't seem to find vbioses for 4gb 1050s. How can I do that? And how do I restore my version if I don't like the new one?

Should I upgrade my CPU (2700x) if I am planning on upgrading my Graphics card to a 5700xt? What about the 3070? If I need to upgrade for either, would the 3700x be sufficient? or if there a bottleneck somewhere else? Thx - FireEagle Current System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MGYkXb

I'll take any of the following low-profile and low-power (as in, does not require 6-pin power) cards. GTX 1650 GTX 1050 ti GTX 1050 GTX 950 RX 560/560X (if it is compatible, which I'm not sure of)

I ran into a weird issue years ago, I wasn't able to play anything on tv in 1080p 60hz, I can turn it on but the screen turn weird fuzzy colors are off and everything made of boxes. This should be a 4k tv an early one. Sometimes one game like dark souls 1 remastered runs in 1080p 60hz no issue at all, but most of the time not the case. I figured might be the intel display manager what causing this it locks everything under 30hz, every resolution so I disabled the intel hd 630. I lost control of resolution and the panel said it runs at 1hz but dived deeper it said 64hz 4k. Games went nuts just couldn't scale but it was 4k. This is a acer vx5 with the 1050 and the i5, what I don't understand the desktop runs smoothly after a reinstall of windows but when I install the intel driver everything gets laggy, and of course that issue up. If anyone has an idea what is this please tell me, also the tv is capable perfectly of 1080p 60hz ps3 ps4 was perfectly fine with it no issues at all.

So i just want a clear answer which among the two gives more fps when it comes to overall gaming performance. Since the rx560 x (its not the same as rx560 its different) has new driver, the performance has improve. I've done a lot of research but i didn't still found a decent benchmark so now im confused. 1050 3gb has higher clock speed, while rx560 x has higher cuda cores, memory bandwith and etc. So can you please explain why which one give more fps in overall gaming.

So i did some research about this gpu, but some say rx560x is faster, some say 1050 3gb is faster, so now im confused, which gpu gives more fps??? The laptop are asus tuf505, they both have the same price and the same specs except for gpu

Good day folks, I'll be direct. 3 days ago my Nvidia GTX 1050 stopped working. I use 3 monitors through HDMI, and VGA cables with a thunderbolt adapter. When I turned on the computer that morning I got the warning sign in the driver of my graphic card with the error 43. I've tried many things and still I can't make it work. Important things: . Lenovo Legion Y530, I5-8300H. 8GB ram with optane memory. 1TB HDD. . I don't usually game on this computer and the temperature is normally around 45 celcius. . I'm currently using Windows 2020-03 1909 version. . I never had a physical accident on my laptop, and there is totally cleand from the inside. What I've tried in general? . Uninstall drivers . Reinstall drivers from Lenovo and Nvidia, newer and older versions. . Update BIOS . Re-install windows from scratch.(I made the windows updates right away) . Check the inside of my laptop and no visible damages nor dust. . I installed Parrot OS on a dual boot and it recognize when I connect the HDMI or the Thunderbold cord but nothing shows up in the screen. What I have not tried but I'm curious about: . Install windows 7 or 8. ************************************************************* Any idea guys? I see a lot of people with the same problem and I just wanna know if is a physical issue caused by Windows or maybe just a software update? Please and thank you!

Hello So I'm a long time lurker that finally is upgrading to a new laptop for college, here it goes: So I have two choices that are under my budget and seem good, both are exactly the same with R5 3550H, 8GB Ram, a 1TB HDD/SHDD, etc, with just GPU and screen differences. The first one has a rx 560x 4GB with a 60hz Freesync display (https://www.amazon.in/FX505DY-BQ002T-15-6-inch-5-3550H-Windows-Graphics/dp/B07MSK34LL/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=tuf&qid=1563867915&s=gateway&smid=A14CZOWI0VEHLG&sr=8-1) and the second has a 1050 3GB with a non-GSync 120hz display (https://www.amazon.in/FX505DD-Graphics-5-3550H-Windows-FX505DD-AL185T/dp/B07RQM12TR/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?keywords=tuf&qid=1563867915&s=gateway&smid=A14CZOWI0VEHLG&sr=8-7) Now I am planning to upgrade it with a m.2 ssd and another 8GB stick for dual channel right after buying, so that should give it a slight boost to maybe possibly pushing the 1050 to utilize the 120hz display. The normal use case would be using DaVinci Resolve/Premiere, MATLAB, and occasional gaming on the side. Which one do you all think would be better, a 560x with Freesync or a 1050 with 120hz but without GSync Thanks in Advance

Hey guys. I'm thinking about building a new system with a Ryzen 5 2600. I currently have a 1050ti, and I was wondering which GPU to choose. I'm currently getting a 980ti 6gb strix for $190 used, a new 580 for $220 or a used 1070 for $230. I can also go with a used 580 for about $150. Which of these GPU's would be the best for my money? Thanks!

Hello everyone, I own a budget Gaming Laptop from 2017. It is the "Dell Inspiron 5577" it has "i5 7300HQ" and "GTX 1050" I can play most of the games on medium and low settings. I can also record my gameplays on 1080p 30FPS and 720P 60FPS Without any lagg. So I am wondering if I can stream on youtube or Twitch With 720p Resolution using that laptop. Note : Laptop heats up while recording, Though it doesn't effect on performance. Also I am going to change the thermal paste and buy a laptop cooler too if streaming will work. I have not tested it yet cause I don't have a high speed internet connection and I will get one if this works.

Hey guys, so I bought a DELL Inspiron 15-5577 laptop. It has Core i5 7300HQ, 16GB DDR4 2400MHz ram (bought it with 8gb and upgraded with another 8gb), 1TB HDD and I upgraded with 500GB Samsung M.2 NVME SSD, and finally it has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB. When I bought it a year ago I used it just for school purposes and I was gaming on my desktop with much worst graphic card. Few mounts ago I fired up CS:GO for the first time and my fps was 60, so I immediately turn off VSync but nothing changed. So I looked over the net, but I couldn't find exact answers. I turned off XBOX Game DVR, I adjust the battery settings all on best performance, made my GTX 1050 graphic card as default on all programs, turned off VSync from NVIDIA control panel, but nothing worked and it is still capped on 60 fps. I watch all your videos you upload and then I saw those adjustments you made in both of the videos about the minning graphic cards. And I remembered that all my data that the NVIDIA graphic card had processed is going through the Intel's integrated graphic card. Could that be the issue? So what should I do to disable my fps lock? PS: While I was searching I found out that others with DELL laptops and some with ACER and ASSUS had the same issues. Maybe it is some software that they put which is not allowing the graphic card to release its full potential (like in the alienware's pc from the "$1500 Gaming PC Secret Shopper" video?). Thank you guys in advance.

I already had an Asus 1070 Turbo I installed and I recently installed a Zotac 1050, sometimes I feel like it gives me more performance and other times I feel like I'm bottlenecking my 1070. Initially my performance was slightly decreased because of the 1050 but I moved my M.2 SSD to the other slot and my performance seems to be better than it was before. My motherboard is the Asus ROG Maximus IX Code, so it has two x16 pcie slots, which I have the gpus installed in. I initially had my SSD installed in the M.2 slot which is hidden under the ROG symbol panel but moved it to the m.2 slot on the bottom of the motherboard which requires a bracket, and that seems to have increased my performance. How can I best configure my hardware and my settings to get the most out of this setup?

Hello! Recently ive been having a problem, my gpu, a gigabyte geforce gtx 1050 3 gb, my drivers are all up to date and it works perfectly! after about 3 games to "Warm it up" in fortnite. this might just be fortnite, but my drivers are all up-to-date and another intresting thing the fans do not spin, as you can see by the title. sometimes my whole computer will crash even if im just on the web or anything like that. idk what i should do, this might be caused because my fans dont spin, im not a huge nerd so if anyone has any solutions and you have the time, please tell me what i should do, i cant find anything online so i resorted to here! Thank you for your time -WASDIsKing

Hello there. Just opening this thread for us to investigate this card. The card is a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti that I use for my esports rig, it's paired with a Ryzen 2600. The funny thing is the clocks it reaches by default. Since I bought it I haven't changed the bios or any setting but the card in every sensor software reaches 1720 MHz while using the 3D. By the temperatures it reaches doing it at 3DMark; 65°C, one could said I got lucky with the gpu lottery. But, Why does the clock goes up to 1700MHz without any configuration? Or is this a trick from the vendor from the firmware? I though it will be interesting to discuss it, and maybe run more test to see if it's legitimate running at the shown speed.

I'm confused, I recently bought an Acer aspire 7 laptop and in the specs of the store it shows that it has a gtx 1050ti and when I see the laptop and download gpu-z I see that it has a gtx 1050 of 4Gb and when I play this it only comes to the 2 gb of use, what gpu do I really have? a 1050 of 4gb is not a 1050ti? please HELP

I'm trying to decide if it would be better for performance vs $$ to but another GTX 770 and SLI them together, or buy a 1050 ti instead. I can't find anything comparing two 770s vs a 1050 ti. Thoughts?.
