My Aunt and Uncle are looking for a laptop to do work on. They are willing to spend up to $1000. I'm not really versed in laptops. They're not too old but won't understand a lot of the newer things like usb type-c. Things they want and things I think they'll want: Atleast 3 Usb's Windows 10 Large Storage Microsoft Office Compatible (Ya I know, it's just what they said) Any suggestions would be nice, I hate looking through laptops.

Hello all, I recently posted about this and got a lot of help, but I have found spare cash and decided to change my budget for more variety. 1. Budget & Location My budget is around the $900 and quite possibly low $1000 but would love to stay out of it, and my currency is $USD 2. Aim The aim of this build is editing videos and somewhat light gaming, I love to play smaller games like Cs Go but I would still love to get smooth playable fps on games like fallout 4. As well as possibly streaming. 3. Monitors I will most likely be using one of my tv's that connect through hdmi, or a low end monitor I find around the house 4. Peripherals I will be needing an OS preferably Windows 10, and also a wireless network adapter because I am not in a position to go wired atm. Although I have had word of a motherboard with built in wifi so that can be an option. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am upgrading because my laptop is just not cutting it anymore and I believe it is long over due an upgrade 6. Things to note First off I know it going wireless is bad for streaming... no need to remind me xD. Also, please leave notes with your pc part picker list that explains why you choosed the parts and why they would work well with the build! Thanks! I like the intel i7 so if you can fit that in the build that would be awesome, and maybe a cool case would be nice.

I am looking to build a decent gaming PC for around $1000 dollars. I am going for a white/black and blue color scheme. I want at least 16GB of RAM, a GTX 1070, a fully modular power supply, the Corsair Spec Alpha Case (White & Blue), and parts to match my color scheme. Everything else is undecided so far. I also plan on sleeving my own cables in the near future. I want my PC to be able to play all games at 1080p@60hz, MAX Settings, for now, and for years to some. I am not certain yet, but I would love to upgrade to two, or even three 1080p monitors, to complete the gaming experience. I also plan to use this computer for school work, and (MAYBE) light Video Editing. Hi, I'm looking for a good laptop under the $1000 mark and believe I may have found a winner: ASUS K501UW-AB78[link] I will be a commuting College student for Computer Engineering and need the laptop to be able to work well for when I am not at my own home, is this K501UW suitable? Also, please throw some recommendations and input on whether its fit for non-rendering applications. thanks! Features of it: i7-6500U 2.5Ghz (fine for AUTOCAD due to its single-threaded nature) 1080p monitor Aluminum build 960M 2GB 4.4 Pounds, fairly portable 15.6" laptop 512GB SSD with spare expansion bays 8GB RAM with one open expansion slot This is NOT my sole computer, I already have a desktop at home, but being a commuter I will be fairly disconnected from it.

I'm looking to build a computer for gaming and work. This is my first build and I have a $1000 total budget so I could use some help. I use stuff like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premier. Games Minecraft, Halo and CSGO. I alse need a monitor (2 would be good if possible) keyboard, wireless internet connection and I'd like the case to have a display window. I want this computer to also be good enough to last me 4-5 years. Also I live in Australia so postage is another thing, Australian online stores would be best. ~ Thanks ~ Grovers1

Hey guys this is my first build so I need some opinions thanks. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/r3QkGX EDIT: this PC is for meh friend and we should be using it to play games such as Dayz and CS:GO and maybe a few AAA games. He expects the games to run at default/medium settings at 40+ FPS

I'm looking to build a gaming PC for £800 ($1000) but don't really know what i'm doing. I need to build the full PC with the exception of monitors, mouse, keyboard, WiFi stuff and other accessories. I'm not fussed with specific brands. At least I want to be able to play XCOM2 at highest settings with mods. At most well skies the limit I guess.

Greetings. A YouTuber I know has been developing high-quality 1080p content for quite some time and has been uploading it consistently towards their channel using Sony Vegas Pro 13 as their platform. However, they're still using a rather terrible laptop, and I thought I'd recommend a part list to them so they can improve their production efficiency. I wanted to put together two builds that present the best possible value for video editing at price points of both $1000 and $2000 so I could show them. Furthermore, I'd prefer if you pick parts that make for an easy building experience. They'll likely have to assemble the PC themselves, so I'd prefer if it involved parts that make for an easy and user-friendly building experience, and not a nightmare full of cable-ties and RMAs. Again, I'd like to reiterate that their work almost exclusively involves Sony Vegas Pro 13, so hardware optimized for it will be useful. It'd also be great if you could fit peripherals into the build, as I believe they're currently using a laptop for all of their work. I would also appreciate monitor recommendations, but only if you know for certain that it's a good choice of display for video editing. The budget for the monitor is outside of the total budget for the build. I look forward to reading your suggestions and recommendations. Regards, Aereldor.

$1000 gaming build....looking for some advice
jarianwright posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So I am working on my first build and am kinda newby but still have relatively good knowledge on the topic. I have been working the past few weeks on coming up with the parts for my soon-to-be gaming pc. I have finally finished coming up with a parts list and would like some advice/feedback. I think I have planned everything out well and that this will be a good build, but nevertheless I would really appreciate any advice you can give. The only thing I know for sure of being a bit of a waste is the motherboard being a Z170 when I did not buy an overclockable CPU. I read several reviews and saw mixed reviews for most H170 motherboards so I figured I would spend a couple extra bucks to get a solid motherboard. Let me know what you guys think or if you know of any reliable H series boards. Thanks Also I know many people suggest AMD GPUs but I prefer Nvidia and will be getting one of their cards. Case: Fractal Design Define S Motherboard: MSI Gaming Z170A Gaming M3 CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2666 Storage: WD Blue 1TB Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD Power Supply: EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 750W ---Grand total price of $992.92 with current Amazon/Newegg prices--- Thanks again! -
Hi, my name's Alfie I'm 13 and I am looking to build myself a new pc. This is my first time building and I really want to get this right so I am spending a lot of time double checking compatibility. This PC will be used for some gaming (battlefront, fallout 4, minecraft etc.) and I also would like to be able to do some video editing and photo editing. I would like to know if this build that I have configured is any good at all and if not, can you please recommend improvements to make it better. This build has got to last a while but I will probably be upgrading further down the line. It is also worth noting that I am limited for space in terms of where to actually place the pc so my case has a limit of 410mm in order to fit on my shelf (The shelf is on the right of the picture --> https://www.dropbox.com/s/o2v220g1f63fmat/20151205_190748.jpg?dl=0). I Also want this build to look nice as I kind of want to show it off. Any way that's enough of my rambling on... Here's the system; I'd love to know what you think! Any suggestions for this planned $1000 USD gaming PC?
Oosk posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hww6YJ 1. Budget & Location I'm in the US and my budget is $900. I'll be salvaging the DVD drive. I know this might be a lot to ask for that much, but I'm not exactly rolling in money. I have a Dell Inspiron 660 with an Intel Core i3 CPU, in case you think I might be able to salvage anything else (I doubt it though) 2. Aim My ideal PC is the one I planned above, but obviously it is above my budget. I'd like to bring it down withiout compromising too much power. I'd love to be able to run more intensive games like GTA V at high-max settings at 1080p at 60 FPS. I also plan on playing less intensive VR games on it. As long as they run at 60 and at low-medium settings I'd be happy. (using my Note5 and GearVR so 60 is max anyway) I don't care at all what my computer looks like, this is my first build and all I care about is performance at this stage. 3. Monitors One 1080p FPS 122hz monitor for now and another 1080p 60hz monitor later so I can watch live streams while playing casual games. 4. Peripherals I can buy peripherals later, I still have the crappy peripherals that came with my other pc and I can tough it out until I save more money if it means a better pc sooner. 5. Why are you upgrading? The PC I have was outdated when I bought (at least the gpu) I've been suffering with 720p lowest settings at <60 FPS on most games for long enough.- 7 replies

Hi I'm going to build a PC for gaming/workstation usage with a budget of 1000€ (German prices, basically 1000 USD). I'd like to hear some opinions and advices about my build. CPU: Intel i5-6600K CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9S Mobo: (not sure yet) - ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K4 - Asus Z170-A - Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Memory: Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4 3000MHz 2x4GB Storage: Crucial BX100 250GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB Video Card: Asus Strix 960 DirectCU II 4GB Case: Corsair SPEC-02 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W Fans: 2x Corsair AF140 Notes: - I'm planning to overclock - The RAM is on sale in my local store atm, so I picked it. - Same thing applies with the GPU, I was originally thinking about a R9 380. Questions: 1. Which motherboard should I get? 2. Is my CPU cooler reliable? 3. Opinions about my case? Thank you for any tips and advices.

Hello, I'm a content creator (Youtube & Twitch) so i need a build that would allow me to stream most games (mainly CSGO, Minecraft And H1Z1) at a fluent 60 FPS with a resolution of 1920x1080, with duel 144hz monitors. I have a PC that i made in 2013. But this PC was not good enough for my needs, not to mention that i spilled tea all inside it. I would also like to have the choice to upgrade this new PC in the future, if $1,000 does not seem like enough i would go over some but no more the $1,200. I'm also going to be buying it piece by piece until i have them all. I already have a Corsair keyboard, Razer Deathadder, and a blue yeti microphone. i would not need any other peripherals. also don't include the monitors in the price because i will just get those in the future. I already have two crap monitors that will due fine until i get the cash to upgrade. So to sum this up i need a PC that will be good at streaming, rendering and recording on top of being able to game. The cost would need to be around $800 - $1,200 the lower the better, i want as much bang for my buck that i can have. As for the case i would want something that has a windowed side panel and plenty of space for upgrades other then that its good. Thanks for reading any help would be great! I plan to use this rig for mostly gaming as well as some productivity. I already have storage (SSD's and a 2TB HD) as well as an OS so these are not included in the price. I want this computer to last at least 4 years. This will be a skylake build with a 6600k or 6700k depending on sales in november. I have decided on all the parts and am happy so far. Hey everyone Kurt here, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good gaming laptop under $1000. It needs to have atleast 3 hours of battery life, have good storage, and be able to play most games at 40-60fps. Ill be playing games like Star Wars Battlefront, Quake, Minecraft, Smite, Tribes Ascend, civilization, and War thunder. Also I want it to be at least 15.6 Inches! Other than gaming it will be used for basic Linux live boots and music production. Thanks everyone! I have looked at some cyber power fang books. -Kurt

So, at school, I just got the opportunity to build a PC for $1000, and I am wondering what I can get best for the $1000, performance wise (and with a few specific specifications) A few things to think about: -$1000 Budget -Nvidia Based GPU -AMD Based CPU (Preferably an FX-Series) -At least 8GB of Ram -A case that supports 120mm fans, fits ATX or MicroATX, and has a window (Corsair is nice) -Its a blue and black build, blue LEDs are nice. -At least a 600W PSU or maybe 500W if necessary *May need Windows 7, which on PCPARTPICKER is $149. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RektSkrubs/saved/#view=rHtv6h

Should I get a surface pro 3 or a different laptop? It needs to be reasonably portable and I would strongly prefer a dedicated gpu (yes, I know the surface doesn't have one). I would be doing cc and premiere on it. 8gb of ram minimum. i5 and at least 250 gb. Would prefer an ssd, but I can add it in myself if I need to. Thanks!

I am currently on the lookout for a laptop to do school work but will also do some light to medium load gaming. I have a budget of around $1,000. I'd love to have an SSD for the fast boot times but I will also need a good bit of storage space (think I'll need a hard drive as well). Does anyone have any suggestions?
