Hello, Overview: This is my first attempt at building a Gaming PC. My budget is $1000 USD, but I'm willing to go up to $1200 USD for better performance. I'd like it to be able to run triple A games at high settings or better at 1080p at 60FPS. It also has to be able to allow me to use photoshop for web design. I also need peripherals like a mouse, keyboard, and monitor included in the price as well as Windows. Preferences: I'd like to have at least a Nvidia 1060 or a 1070 if possible. I'd also like to have an Intel CPU. I have no preference on a specific case or look, I just need something that will fit all the parts, but allowing for an easy build would be a plus. Thanks to all who help.

My budget is $1000 US and I would greatly appreciate your help coming up with a build surrounding these components. AMD 2700x CPU + 1050ti + 32GB (16x2) RAM. If you could do that it would really help me out. I don't peripherals or OS and I am looking to order from NewEgg. Thank you so much and I am looking forward to any responses

Hello, I'm a college student approaching graduation and I'm looking to finally replace my gaming PC. Between school and gaining different interests, I find myself not gaming much anymore, and when I do, it's usually less intensive games like Rocket League or Dota 2. I'm finding it harder and harder to justify keeping my PC when I could have something much more portable and power efficient that will do what I need it to do. Budget Based on some quick research, I think I could get $800-$1000 by selling my PC, monitor, and current (cheap) laptop. (Side note: would it be better to sell my PC in parts or as a pre-built?) I'm willing to pay around $200 out of pocket to supplement this but would prefer to keep that to a minimum. So, that's the price range I'm working in. What I Need Good Keyboard: I'm not completely sure what I'll be doing for a living, but there's a good chance it will involve a lot of writing, so I want a good keyboard that I can use for long periods of time without trouble. I have a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Browns right now, which I don't really like that much. I find myself regularly hitting multiple keys and it's a little tricky to feel where the key actually activates. Photo Editing: I do some graphic work right now, so I want to be able to use Photoshop and Illustrator without much trouble. It doesn't have to be lightning fast, but I need it to work. Longevity: I would like to be able to use this laptop for at least 5 years if not longer to justify the cost. I'm not the kind of person that needs the newest technology all the time. What I Would Like Upgradeability: To help with the longevity, being able to upgrade some components myself would be nice. If the laptop is good enough, this might not be necessary. Some Gaming Capability: The built-in GPU should be able to handle some games. Specifically Rocket League, Dota 2, Overwatch, Fortnite, etc. Medium settings is fine as long as the FPS is good enough. This could also be fulfilled by being compatible with an external GPU that I could purchase at a later date. Portability: I would want to be able to take this with me so I can do work on the go. A thin-and-light would be nice, but as long as it's not really chunky I'm okay. What I have so far The strongest contender for me right now is the LG Gram. I've heard great things about the keyboard as well as its upgradeability. It is on the high end of my price range, but I think it might be worth it. I was also looking at the Surface lineup, mostly because of the keyboard. I am worried I wouldn't be able to afford a model that would have the specs I want. I have also read some good reviews of the Dell XPS 13, but don't know much about them. Any advice on what to buy, how to sell my gaming PC, or if I should wait for new computers to be released is appreciated. Thanks!

1. Budget & Location My budget is as close to $1000 max as possible but willing to go over if worth it. I will be building this towards the end of February or early March with my tax return. (no longer true, buying parts today) 2. Aim I plan on using the computer for general daily use of browsing, Discord, streaming and games(mostly rpg, but a variety will be played, games like LOL or DOTA wont be played though). I will also do some audio recording on the side but as far as I am aware that doesnt take much pc side. 3. Monitors I plan on eventually running two 1080p or 1440p monitors at 144hz but not required right now if it wont fit in budget. I have a 1080p 60hz monitor right now. 4. Peripherals I already have keyboard, mouse, speakers, webcam and mic. For my OS I will be using windows as my main drive and I will have a dual boot option for linux on a separate drive. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am upgrading because my current laptop is quite old and not capable of running most games let alone minecraft. Parts that I already have and will be reusing in the new build: 2 500gb SSD (windows on 1 and linux on the other) 1 Be Quiet Pure 600 PC case Edit: I ended up ordering parts today, here is the list of parts that will be in my rig https://pcpartpicker.com/user/kazukokat/saved/6jbmqs

So it's time to upgrade my i5 2500k, and this seems like a good time of year to do so. Most of the insides of my rig are about 9 years old so yeah.... I'm gonna be keeping some things, but replacing most of the guts. The GPU is staying the same for now, as I'll likely upgrade that bit next year when Nvidia releases their 3000 series cards. I mostly game, though typically running 2 games at a time while watching 1-2 HD streams on my second monitor. case - Thermaltake Armor + HDD - got a couple of those already GPU - EVGA GTX 970 4GB SSC PSU - OCZ ZX-Series 850w fully-modular Gold+ Here's the parts I've got lined up. Thoughts? Feedback? This is my first time even considering team red, everyone I know has always been team blue. Will the Wraith Prism stock cooler suffice? Overall the upgrade definitely has to stay under $1000 (also I'm in the US by the way) but I sure wouldn't mind keep it under $900 if possible haha. Saving a bit here will go towards my GPU next year! I need a ultrabook to take into school. Basic note taking and programming applications. Display needs to be sharp. Already have a desktop and gaming laptop at home. I was considering the basic model of the MacBook Air or even Pro. Any other suggestions? Dell XPS? Not considering Huawei products as a option. $1000 seems a good starting point, no more than $1300.

Hey LTT community! I have a tight budget of $1000 for my next build. It'll be mainly used for gaming and programming. I've thrown a quick list together and want your opinions! I would prefer to keep a white theme, but I'm open to anything! I'm using 14k monitor. I know that's kinda dumb but I'm a guy that prefers 4k 30fps Ultra than 1080p 144fps high. I have a 1Tb HDD from an old laptop that I'll throw in as well. Thanks! Hello to whoever is reading this, I decided to finally switch over from a laptop that I’ve had for several years now, the main reason why I’m deciding to build a pc is because my laptop can no longer handle any games I run without overheating or seeing low FPS/Drops. The Pc Rig that I hope to build will be mainly used for Gaming and other everyday uses(School Work, Web browsing) that won’t put such a work load on my pc. I put together a pc part list linked below. As for what advice and help I’m looking for is either a whole new build which can fit my budget of $1000 you can go over $100 or $200 if it improves performance and better for the long run, or exchange parts in my current build that can help reach my budget goal. As for the games I will be running are CS:GO, GTA V, Fortnite, Gmod. Main concerns -Good Airflow -Overclocking -High, Ultra or Max settings (on games) -No serious FPS Drops/Bottlenecking I will be responding immediately to any questions if I am available Thank you for helping and taking time out of your day PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qJydFt Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qJydFt/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor ($238.99 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Deepcool - GAMMAXX 400 White 74.3 CFM CPU Cooler ($37.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($169.06 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($164.99 @ Newegg) Storage: ADATA - Ultimate SU800 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg Marketplace) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($57.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB AMP! Sub $1,000AUD Build - Anything I could do better?
NPSTR107 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Anything I could do better in this sub $1,000 Australian Dollar build? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/qhw3ZR * I'm spec'ing this up for a friend of mine * Just looking to achieve 1080p at ultra details - 60 FPS however he may be looking to get a higher Hz monitor in the near future * Mostly FPS type games * Looking to just use a used GTX780Ti ~ around $200 to $230 AUD -
I am going to be building my first desktop pc since my laptop has recently died, because I was ignorant to how all of this works, and overworked the hell out of my CPU to the point that I killed it. I am planning on building a Video Editing workstation, nothing too crazy though, just to make some short videos of my hobbies. Would I get better performance out of this or should I not worry too much about task specific hardware and just build a multipurpose workstation? I am sticking with a $1000 Budget and my build on PC PartPicker is around $965. Would I be wasting money on certain components where I should be optimizing? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Gillecriosd/saved/ZxqgLk

Hey guys! Been looking forward to building a PC, I was originally looking at a pre-built gtx 1060 config in the $1200 range, but after further research I've decided I'll build my own instead, and this is what I've come up with so far. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vzbrvV Do you guys see any issues? I have a hard drive already btw

Don't get me wrong, still love the little guy, and trucks right along in D3/WoW/Telltale stuff just fine on lowest somewhere around the 30's-sometimes even 60, amazingly. Of course it tanks to single digit frequently when action says so. Nothing can last forever, and I think it might be time to upgrade to something a bit more modern. Putting an SSD in it sure spunked it up, but as time goes by even that can only do so much, really. I got it for free basically a couple years back, so it owes me nothing, and deserves to be pampered and lightly used. I'm in the market either this fall/holiday season for a replacement that comes in ~$1000CAD new or possibly even lightly used. The later is definitely harder to rectify and quantify. I'd rather it was under the 15" mark, but that seems to be a point of contention on what is available without going well over my budget for respectable hardware. One so far that has caught my attention is the ASUS ROG GL551VW-DS51. I'm open to suggestions though.

What do you guys think of this PC Build? The budget is ~$1,000

Hey guys, I have a budget of $1000 for a PC. I mainly do editing in davinci resolve, and play games (cs-go,black ops). I need a good build that is very close to the $1000 budget. I'd like to preferably have a skylake CPU with a pascal GPU like a 1060 or 1070. 8-16 gigs of ram would be nice and a sturdy mobo. I also would like an ssd as a boot drive. This is my current part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/thutzell13579/saved/Q89TWZ I would appreciate all suggestions and any links to good part lists. Thanks

hi. I am looking for best laptop that I can possibly get for around $1000. I'm going to college in a couple days and have been looking in stores and online for the laptop. I am going to use the laptop for college and plan on getting a computer engineering major, so a laptop that can last for a couple years would be great. I also plan on playing some games on it, I guess I would be playing hearthstone, league of legends, smite, and others similar. I don't plan on playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on it or any others high end games. is there any sites, or laptops you guys recommend and what brands to avoid? I have found one so far that seems to be good but am not quite sure yet. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-710-15-2-in-1-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-256gb-solid-state-drive-black/5225018.p?id=bb5225018&skuId=5225018 what do you think?
