Pretty weird, to me it looks like its not supposed to do that... But I'm afraid I don't really have an explanation for that, since I never really got to play with FX cpus.

Although the spikes could also be explained by varying in game cpu load, but it still seems weird that the spikes kind of correlate with the cpu usage spikes. But thats a pretty easy thing to rule out. Just run Prime95 or some other tool that sets a continuous load on the cpu for a couple of minutes and watch how the cpu behaves...

That graph should be the gpu power limit.
 
It just seemed pretty weird that the temps briefly spike and then drop down again for a couple of seconds. That usually indicates throttling. Also what I meant with power limits isn't the peak power load your cpu draws from the psu, but rather maybe some kind of power or voltage limitation set by your mainboard.

Also upon taking a second look at this besides sitting at 100% usage often your CPU seems to be throttling either because of thermal or power limitations.

If you’re asking if you should buy a new monitor that has G-Sync then I wouldn’t bother. It’s not worth the massive amount of money you’d be spending since you already have a really nice monitor

I am afraid of this as well. I'm going to check it out in store as I really don't care about resolution but my opinion could change once they are next to each other.

Seriously though, are people really choosing a console over a PC and vice versa based solely on price ? I like gaming on PC period. I don't care about the price.

Back when devs like Rockstar actually put effort in and made dlc's like The ballad of gay Tony it wasn't all bad. But today most dlc's feel like the devs just cut out a piece of content that should have been in the original game. (CDPR is an exception though)

You got a point, but I dont think people buy consoles for "doing everything" In an all around sense, yes a PC wins, but for gaming at that budget, I'm pretty sure a console will win.
 
 
 

Was thinking the exact same thing while watching the video. You need a PC anyway these days, and its not unlikely that you spend about 300 - 500$ on it even if you don't want to use it for gaming.

would you stop it with the periferals i can go find a free keyboard and mouse right now if i didnt have piles of them lying around. 
ok then you have to consider every possible bit of software the pc can run/emulate plus every game and software that exists on that platform for the past 40 years or so. plus every bit of hardware that is compatible and can be used/adapted to a pc from the past 40 years.

but oh , the game console has an optical disk media that a few people kind of use...... super interesting.

I would (obviously) recommend a 7700K, but if you're looking for other options, 7th generation core i5s are ok/good and I personally like the 4790K. It overclocks great and it's temps are low.

I don't think it's worth the upgrade. Your system is getting old and it'd be wiser to save a bit more and buy a whole new PC.

I'm not sure what your budget is but if at all possible I'd strongly recommend doing a platform upgrade to AM4 and getting a Ryzen 3 chip.

Yeah man, there new peripherals and cases are actually pretty damn good! I've really enjoyed building in it. 

The chair is pretty awesome too, but I think they need a premium range with high density foam.

I said future compatibility not future proof. You cannot be future proof ever! What I said was if you go the AM4 route you can use that motherboard until 2020. The Z370 will merely last a generation. Ofcourse if you don't have a problem buying a new board with every gen or two, wait until the reviews and then decide. I personally believe you won't see very huge difference in IPC between Skylake and Cofee Lake. As for as IPC in AMD, I don't think AMD will ever catch up to Intel until atleast Zen3 or later. Intel will still have the fastest chips for gaming. It will be a long time until AMD matches it up. The difference in IPC might decrease steadily, but won't outright beat them.

If the impact the PC takes is enough to damage it with the Asus Strix card then it probably will do the same with the EVGA SC card.

Dont get 8100.. the first launch will only have z370 board.. i3 for a Z motherboard is a total waste.

Not sure yet, since Coffee lake isn't released for another week. I would wait for a couple weeks for the reviews to pour in, especially from LTT and gamers nexus, and go with their recommendations.
