  1. It has performed amazing! (Until now possibly?) I recommend intel over any of the other SSD's available (next on the list is Samsung). I'm still hoping I can get this one fixed for the sake of not having to go through an RMA process. Boot times are great, even faster than a SATA SSD (on the newer firmware versions, the old ones booted slower than the SATA drives). I've done some transfers from my Samsung 950 Pro m.2 nvme ssd to the intel 750 ssd, and got over 900MB/s. Great for content creation, and I noticed slightly better game load times.
  2. Damn. Was hoping there was going to be something I haven't tried.. I didn't have anything important on the drive, it's more so just an OS, applications and a game or two on the drive... hopefully whatever is wrong is covered under intel warranty, otherwise it was a good almost 2 years with the drive :'(
  3. So I was on my PC last night playing games just fine, and I was just settling down tonight to go ahead and play some games again tonight. I went o boot up my computer and it said that no boot device was found. Weird seeing as there were no sort of power outages or surges at all in my city today. I go in to the bios, and my intel 750 series SSD (400gb pci-e x4 card) isn't showing up. Tried multiple PCI-e slots, different computers, reset all BIOS settings to default, changed any setting that may have to do with NVMe drive support (it detects my Samsung 960 pro m.2 SSD just fine)... there are 4 LEDs on the drive itself and none light up at all. Has anyone had this happen before? Any suggestions for troubleshooting? GPU's work just fine in the same PCI-e slots too. test PC's: i7-5930k 16GB ram MSI Raider X99 board i5-7500 8gb ram MSI Z170I gaming Pro AC board i5-4690k 8gb ram MSI Z97 pc mate board i5-4590 MSI H81 matx board 16gb ram
  4. The first thing I did was thoroughly check all of the pins on both boards... I guess it may be time to call for the death of the CPU. it very well could be ghosts, it is right around Halloween, so I wouldn't put if passed those damn ghosts for haunting my friend's PC Thanks for the response! My last resort is asking for opinions of other PC enthusiasts when I've tried everything I can think of and after doing research
  5. Hey everyone, I'm trying to troubleshoot a friend's PC right now and I've tried probably just about everything. I'm at the point where I think the CPU is defective. It is an i7-3770. It doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get any sort of display to come up on a screen. No motherboard bios or anything at all. I've tried onboard graphics, multiple video cards, multiple motherboards, multiple kinds of ram in each motherboard in each slot, as well as multiple power supplies. Basically the only common component has been the CPU in the testing. I've cleared the CMOS on all of the boards I've tried... any other suggestions on things I can try? Or is it about time to call a time of death for His CPU?
  6. This would be an easy/awesome solution for outdoor projector/move from room to room indoors
  7. it's a Sandisk Ultra II 480GB SSD. I've never had a Sandisk SSD, so I don't know how they perform in the real world and all that... but it's still an SSD! $150 today only for Newegg's Shell Shocker Deals http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820173012
  8. I think I have about 7 codes from PAXPrime for the beta... They were giving out the codes like the guys on the street give the cards for girls in Vegas
  9. oh... my... god... this post is amazing!
  10. I just updated my PC to windows 10 last night with the G3258, and no issues at all upgrading (using the latest Insider preview build though, but I'm pretty sure at this time it is the exact same as the release build)
  11. you can always put Kodi (XBMC) on your PC and get the addon for USTV NOW. you get all the basic channels like fox, ncb, abc and all that. it's a free service, you can pay a small amount monthly and get other networks. or just skip Kodi and just stream right from the web browser as you probably would for Netflix with your current setup.
  12. I have an Intel 730 SSD, an 850 Pro and an 850 Evo. all of which run great, and the real world performance between all of them are the same. I got the 730 because it was on sale and I heard they were great, and reliable, so I picked one up. I'm pretty sure its just in the BIOS settings, but this system seems to boot up the fastest of all the SSD's I've owned (and I've gone through quite a few different brands/Models of them) I got the 850 Evo because I was looking for a cheaper, but also told to be realy reliable as well SSD I got the 850 Pro because again, I heard it was really reliable, and most of all, has a 10 Year warranty on it as opposed to the 5 Year on the Evo
  13. yeah, there aren't any for sale other than that one in my area, but a few hours away the average price is about $300-$350, so after work tonight I'll most likely be picking it up Thanks for all the responses!
  14. should also follow your topics when you post one so you get a notification when someone replies. Hope my last post helps!
  15. check to see if you live close to a Microcenter (if in the USA). you can usually get a G3258/Motherboard for about $100 combo, or just the G3258 for $50. No need to get a graphics card, for 1080p video the integrated graphics will be fine. and to get Windows on the PC, try getting the Windows 10 Insider preview, it's still the full version of Windows 10 for free, or stick with a Trial Version. here's just a quick one thrown together that would be good for streaming/watching 1080p videos http://pcpartpicker.com/p/N9zX7P
