I would give him the laptop for sure. I've been in that situation also, I was getting a new phone for my birthday and my sister had just smashed hers. So instead of selling my iPhone I gave it to her. I don't really like the iPhones, I don't mind Apple but the iPhones are dirty things. Beautiful, but dirty. Hey, I am an enthusiastic composer and I need a new laptop. I use a program called Sibelius 7 to compose a midi track which I modify with Fruity Loops. The main types of instruments I compose for are piano and synths. Please could you leave suggestions on what laptop to get or things to look out for? I would also use it for gaming... A LOT of gaming. It would be the laptop I use for university also so something with a nice processor and great internal speakers. I do have some kick ass headphones but they bug me so I only use them when I am mastering the music before release.

The Asus RoG G550JK is my sweet spot because of it's beautifully elegant design. I prefer it's design over the Razor Blade's; that's saying a lot. I love how the keyboard seems to hover seamlessly just above the flush aluminium body and the beautiful red trim on the edges. Then it comes to the specs! An Intel Core i7-4700HQ and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M? damn... Perfect design and amazing hardware! Able to kick out great FPS on Battle Field and Bioshock infinite; and I haven't mentioned the audio yet. For an audiophile like me having kick ass speakers for those times I am out and about without my DJ8 headphones is imperative! The on board speakers blew me away the first time I head them, especially for laptop standards. Also, just to make it even better they give you a sub-woofer! Perfect for making music in fruity loops on the go or getting the best out of your games out and about. I am a musician/gamer, this is my dream laptop, pretty pretty please?
