He has a PSU with i pci-e power from the PSU that splits to 2x6+2 pin pci-e connectors.
He wants to know if it's ok to un CF 480's off the 1 power.

I would guess you will have problems with the amps on the 12V to run the system.

No, for the BIOS update. You may use the same drive if you want. M-Flash BIOS updates are carried out via a file placed on a USB drive. These files can be downloaded from MSI's site.

Nothing special really. Just make sure that when updating the BIOS that the file is in the root of the USB drive.

You're lucky that I tried the same board with the same chip. The board will POST out of the box and you will be able to update it to a newer version if you want to overclock it.

The clearance isn't problem. Evo backplate is about 1/3 of standoff length (Or less).

Yes. Change H340 to H440 or S340 depending on the one you have before someone asks if that's a new case

@Oarsomeness It will fit into an s340 if that's what you mean. An h440 will fit it as well.

Okay, a lot will depend on the motherboard. You will also need another GPU to do the install if you choose the GTX 750 Ti since there is no native Maxwell drivers and your CPU doesn't have a supported iGPU.

CPU and Mobo... i dont have to explain it right ?
16GB might be overkill, but with lots of things open at a same time I think it good to be put in here
Standard 120GB SSD for OS, and 4TB of HDD for storage and all, divided to 2 drive instead of 1 4TB HDD to avoid losing all data if one happen to broke down
Best Sound card, and beasty headphone for sound monitoring Personally for normal use I like speaker, but with sound producing I think a headphone for total noise canceling and the emerging in the sound is better than a speaker in this kind of job

I think he should just get a normal drive and not the red ones for the meantime to save money then get a dedicated NAS for their own centralized storage along the road.

True. You should get a GPU but not a high end one because it probably wont be used to its full potential. Suggestions are a R7 260X reference card (watch linus's video) or a Sapphire Hd 7770. Those will have adequate outputs for monitors.

Replace the HDD with a Seagate SSHD (hybrid), get the define r4 with no window (theres more acoustic foam), the Noctua NH-U14s performs better and is cheaper for the CPU coolers and replace the power supply with a Corsair AX600i because it is 80 plus Platinum.

True Audio is mostly designed for gamers. Buy a sound card

For an AM3+ socket, your current motherboard is great. If you really feel the need to upgrade, probably get the ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX motherboard because it has really reliable components and great reviews.

If you're only running DAWs, those aren't taxing at all and you might not even need a graphics card. From there you could save some money.

For the GPU, go with either a Quattro or a R9 290x. The R9 290X is both cheaper than the GTX Titan and GTX 780 but outperforms them both.
Note the benchmarks in this video.

It will only use as much CPU as it needs and the Intel HD4000 iGPU does not need much processing power at all. I recommend you go into the bios, increase the RAM allocated for your iGPU and increase the core frequency.

For the power supply, go with the Corsair AX860i. It has a 80 plus Platinum efficiency and a 7 year warranty which is self explanatory.

Its your call in the end but if you were to go with a CPU cooler, I would recommend the Noctua NH-U14S.
It's a silent fan, it works great, reliable and it is cheap.

Take note of the bench marks.

i know this is not What You want to hear right now. But You already have a sandy bridge i5 CPU and 4GB DDR3 ram. Simply buying a solid mid range GPU like the Radeon r7 265x will allow You to well and truly join the pc master race, and run any game out there. Until then try to focus on some less graphically intensive games, there are many Indie games and You can play older titles. The Reason your CPU utilization is low is because You have a strong CPU and a very weak onboard GPU. So the GPU is working it's ass of while the CPU is chilling, the CPU will not work harder because there is No point- to render a frame the GPU has to be able to keep up.

Precisely OP. This is what I'm trying to say rather than looking at various builds that can surely meet your devs' needs but won't fit the budget. You should know how much you'd want to spend for a kick start.

If money isn't a problem for you, you can get an extremely good computer for around $2000. AMD gives us great price to performance ratios while Intel gives us reliable and powerful components, with a high price tag. If it's for digital artists where they will be rendering and be using big programs, it would probably be good if you go for a CPU with a couple of cores. A budget CPU with 8 cores is the AMD FX-8350 which is around $200 and is 4.0Ghz. A better option is the Intel i7 4930k which has 6 cores but is hyperthreaded to have 12 cores. The i7 4930k is a good sweetspot in terms of price to performance.

I would recommend going with around 32GB of Ram or 64GB if you want.

I think for storage, you should go with SSHD which are a hybrid between an SSD and a HDD. It has performance that nearly rivals the SSD but has the capacity of a HDD. Go with a Seagate 4TB SSHD.

If you're using 3 monitors, you're better off going with a high end GPU because a low end GPU wont cut it and it will have extremely poor performance. I think maybe an AMD R9 290x or a EVGA GTX 780 Ti because those are great for rendering. If you have an even bigger budget, you could even go for a NVIDEA Quattro because those are designed for businesses and are great workstation cards.
Another post can correct me if I'm wrong
    Good Luck!
