  1. I'd give this build a 5.5/10 for weak motherboard, stock fans, no ssd, no overclocks;, nonetheless has a gtx 760. comparing it to alot of other rigs out there you should be proud of it . Motherboard: P8z77-m Pro CPU: 3570k @ 4.4ghz Case: Cooler master N200 Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC12DX SSD: Samsung 840 series 120gb HDD (games drive): recycled 320gb Hitachi 5400rpm laptop hard drive. GPU: Asus gtx 760 2gb RAM: G. Skill 2133 mhz 8gb kit (4gb x 2) running at 11-11-11-30 timings 1.6 volts. OS: Windows 7 home premium 64bit PSU: Corsair Builder series 500M (semi-modular). Fans: 2x Corsair SP 120mm PWM fans (intake, controlled by the AI suite fan controller) 2x Cooler master Blademaster fans (outake, and included with case) Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Mouse: Razer Death adder 2013 edition Monitor: Benq 24" 1080p (GL2450HM) Headset: Siberia V2 (black and gold accented version)
  2. Welcome to the forum! we all started somewhere lol
  3. Alrighty then, thanks for the input LTT forum members! Even though it is a white cooler I don't have a side panel, and it sits underneath my desk, so I don't i'll ooo, and awww over my white cooler with slightly conflicting color scheme. The other blue, red, and black versions of the cooler were more expensive. Supply, and demand at it's best? I didn't see a difference in hardware, or tech specs. The 212 evo is just that, a good budget cooler; however, I think it's goes straight for performance rather than various other quality options. As well as, it's overclockability for the ivy bridge series CPUs.
  4. Well it's actually 40 because of the 20% off coupon. I did purchase he phantek cooler because of it's price, and overall cooling performance. If worse comes to worse I'll just change the coolers default fan speeds with Asus' Fan Xpert II. However, the noctua I'd rather not buy because it is that much more expensive.
  5. So, long story short I'm thinking of purchasing an air cooler to overclock my 3570k, and keep it much cooler than the terrible stock heatsink. There's a newegg.com coupon code going around for %20 off certain air coolers; such as, the Phanteks PH-TC12DX, and the Noctua NH-U12S. THe phanteks Ph-tc12DX is 20% off making it 40 dollars even, and the noctua is 55 ish dollars with the coupon. Is it worth it to spend a little extra and get the phanteks, or noctua over the hypder 212+ Evo? Due to case size restrictions I can't get something about 160mm tall (using a CM N200). I'm leaning towards the phanteks for sheer performance per dollar that it provides for the extra 5 dollars. I HATE LOUD ASS FANS. Would i be better off getting the noctua, and simply buy something nice once and forget about it. Back up your arguement please just saying "get the 212 evo" is not really a good response. Noctua: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608040&ignorebbr=1 Phanteks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835709018&ignorebbr=1 Hyper 212+ Evo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 Appreciate the feedback LTT forum
  6. I'll chine in and say get a 840 evo, crucial m500, or some other reliable sad and maybe a gigabyte GTX 770 windforce. Let's give him some options for ssds instead of agreeing over and over. Check out the hot deals section of the forum and shop on new eggs shell shockers
  7. Thanks for the help/advice on where to put the SATA cables I've got some velcro and attached my SSD to the bottom portion of the 5.25" bay. This is because the mounting system for the inside that's visible when opening the side panel is to far of a stretch for my power cable. I have a length of cable that has 3 sata power connectors on it, and i'd rather install less cables than more lol (defeats the purpose of having a modular PSU). Previously I'd tried mounting the 24pin in the back of the cable not in the cable management holes, but simply powersupply ---> to motherboard (less of squeeze on the back panel). I'll definately route it through the back this time though lol (i'm a noob). As well as, the 8-pin cpu connector which due to the slim lined corsair power cables easily fit behind the motherboard. I do plan on putting some of my games on the SSD. I've had several systems in this case so far, and I can't complain at all. It's a great little case for the money spent. I have world of tanks, skyrim, and another game on my SSD already (thanks for the advice). This is my first SSD ever and I love it to death even though it's not the industry leading balls to the walls fastest read-writes monster. Since I see that you're an industry affiliate to Cooler master I wanna say something about the case that bothers me (the only thing). At the back of the case There's a little bend in the metal I'd like to see that gone in the next revision of the case It makes routing cables in the area extremly difficult. Due to the extra "buldge" it creates from so many cables being back there. <3 the black cables for the front panel. Thank you for doing that. Also will a cooler master hyper 212+ fit in this case? It says 6.3" inches of clearance, and the hyper 212+/evo are exactly that height. Will this cause any clearance issues if I buy this cooler? On a side note if you are an industry affiliate. I want cooler master to make a wrist rest for the Cooler Master CM Quickfire rapid line of keyboards. Love their for factor, but the clearance off the desk hurts my wrists. Can you guys make a wrist rest that slides overtop of the Quickfire rapid, so we don't give ourselves carpal tunnel LOL. There's alot of wrist rests on amazon, but they're either to big or too small for the keyboard. Thanks! I will repost this thread once I get my other components back from newegg.com, and will link/PM you the thread. It's going in the build logs sections. Appreciate the feedback sir!
  8. Hello once again LTT forum goers I've been watching all the other members builds and how amazing they look, so I decided to do a build log of my own. Hopefully someone will find my build somewhat interesting, or just as much as I find it awesome. Reason for re-building: Was having some weird stuttering issues while in game, and especialy gaming online. Upon further inspection and tearing my hair out several times the issue was some bent pins on the socket of my motherboard. Yep... bricked my first motherboard all by myself. I rma'd my motherboard to newegg.com alongside my cpu, and they said they won't replace it. Oh well, it was worth a shot (I think?). The only thing I'm waiting on is my cpu back from newegg's slow RMA process. Here's my build plans once I get my Rma'd cpu back from newegg.com Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M Pro CPU: 3570k Case: Cooler master N200 Cooler: Stock Intel (for now) SSD: Samsung 840 series 120gb HDD (games drive): recycled 320gb Hitachi 5400rpm laptop hard drive. GPU: Asus gtx 760 2gb RAM: G. Skill 2133 mhz 8gb kit (4gb x 2) running at 11-11-11-30 timings 1.6 volts. OS: Windows 7 home premium 64bit PSU: Corsair Builder series 500M (semi-modular). Fans: 2x Corsair SP 120mm PWM fans (intake, controlled by the AI suite fan controller) 2x Cooler master Blademaster fans (outake, and included with case) Why the Name unholy alliance? Because I've got a ton of noob case badge stickers on the side of my case. Ranging from Intel, AMD, Sapphire, G. Skill, and Samsung SSD. As well as, the various other brands for peripherals; such as, my razer death adder 2013, Microsoft Sidewinder x4 keyboard, and my Benq monitor. Please suggest case mods and other crazy stuff that I can do to my case. I'm thinking about bolting some handles on the top, and possible ordering a corsair H100i/H105. Thereby, mounting it in the front of the case. Hell with tax returns coming up Maybe a custom watercooling loop? Just for the cpu portion. Open to suggestions and advice on my build anything goes. Sorry about my amateur photo job, and if you want to see more of my build sub .
  9. Just got a powerline adapter and issues still persisted. At my Whits end about this whole issue going tomstart rma ing stuff
  10. Thanks for the feedback guys in my past responses I may have come off as an ass, sorry about that... was a little frustrated that my nice new rig won't work properly
  11. Okay reporting back after being on wire after a while. The issue did not occur at all while I was on wire close to the router; however, an issue while I'm in game also occurs. It's almost a constant jitter, but I'm willing to tolerate that over the terrible wireless card that i've got now. Have you ever heard of a wireless card that can cause a system to hang? I certainly havn't, but my dad who is an electrical engineer, and knows his stuff for the most part seems to think that it's plausable. Even now on this wireless network at night the connection is awful, intermittent at best. Speedtest.net gave me a rating on 4.00 mbps when I was using wired I was getting 45mpbs through comcast, and 7mbps real world download speed through steam. Going to grab a little usb wireless dongle adapter to verify that It's my wireless card that's causing the issue. Oh well, I paid like 7 dollars for it from newegg when it had a coupon code for it. The other one i've got did fine in the other computer.
  12. It's not a problem with the network, other devices using the wireless are fine it's not the network at my house. It's something to do with data not getting somewhere within the pc, and therefore causing the stutter that I'm hearing/seeing. Causing programs to lock up when they call for to much data; such as, a browser calling for data, that data not being available in combination with terrible drivers from rosewill/microsoft.
  13. Gotta move my pc for that, and was just going to try that as a last resort. That way I can diagnose if it's a driver issue with my wireless card, or some other piece of hardware. The stuttering makes my pc unreliable, and I need it for school work. Thanks will report back.
  14. Tech Specs of my PC: Cpu: i5 3570k (at stock speeds) RAM: G. Skill 2133 mhz kit at 11-11-11-30 and 1.6V (x.m.p. profile) Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M Bios version 2107 (latest BIOS) GPU: Asus Gtx 760 DirectCU II 2gb (stock speeds, or factory OC) PSU: Corsair CX500M Builder Series Semi-modular Network Card: Rosewill RNX-N150PCe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=33-166-047&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo OS: windows 7 64 bit HDD: Hitachi laptop hard drive for games storage The Issue: The symptoms of the issue are that some portion of my hardware is either faulty, or there's some driver interfering with windows pre-installed drivers. The problem occurs when I access the web my connection is intermittent, drops randomly, ping shoots through the roof randomly, random disconnects. On top of that when the connection does drop and I'm watching a video, the feed will stutter. For instance, when watching linus' videos and funboxings the audio will stutter very loudly on whatever he was saying at the time. I can recreate the problem when a video is loading (adobe flash) and i'll start another tab to go to the forum or w/e it will try to connect to the website while loading the video, and the system will hang and do that audio issue. Another symptom is that when playing world of tanks the connection will cut on/off consistently there's no stable connection. Far Cry 3 will also display this problem especially when listening to some music off of youtube at the same time. (nothing makes you feel more BA running around like a madman in the jungle with Guns N' roses' Welcome to the jungle playing). Again the audio will stutter, system will hang, and It makes doing anything on the PC next to impossible. I think one of my components in bad, or I've got terrible drivers for my wireless card I've never really been able to resolve the issue. Did a clean install of windows, changed the video card, changed the slots of my wireless card, and video card, tried different power cables, re-seated the heatsink with new TIM, tinkered with the ram speeds (downclocked), rebuilt my pc, and installed all the nessacary drivers. ALL to no avail... :'""""( Help I need somebody, not just anybody. I'm going to hand my pc over to an experienced tech if this issue persists, and if nessacary return my cpu, motherboard, ram, or whatever is causing the issue.
  15. Try to install latest audio codecs from realteks website. Also, go to your board manufacturers website and get their drivers for your boards lan as. Bsheedy wrote

  19. Not going for the mail in rebate at first, and just testing out the card. I'm very skeptical that any card I get will work at this point. Have had such bad luck with my 7850 1gb edition. Oh well, guess i've got a 150 dollar coffee coaster.
  20. I can afford it, but something inside me says save your money you don't need a beast graphics card. Then the other side of me says "future proof that sucker", and enjoy yourself without worrying about frame dips, and other issues. I've got to pay for college texts/parking passes next semester, and I'll still have cash to make it through for sure. On top of that I've got a consistent job. Should I just go for it guys? I'm pissed that my sapphire card is now a 150 dollar paper weight, and I don't want to run into the same issues. Is newegg.com good with returns on the cards as long as you havn't damaged them, and include the original packaging?
  21. My build is this 3570k @ stock. P8Z77-M motherboard G. Skill 2133mhz 8gigs ram 2x corsair high performance static pressure fans 2 stock cooler master blademaster fans SSD: 120gb samsung HDD: laptop drive 320gb ish I can't see my build pulling that much power from the wall at this point
