Honestly the 4770 ain't bad so you will survive on the cpu / mobo / ram until we see how Zen / intel response is. With your GPU upgrade it should make it very decent.

Dont defrag your SSD as it will use loads of your read write cycles, Windows automatically trims your SSDs so you don't really have to do anything.

Yep, hence why I asked for the model. The G1 series is the one I was thinking of inparticular, as it's not great.

GS and G2 series are the good ones (Seasonic and SuperFlower, respectively) and the GQ series are FSP (same OEM as G1) but better quality.

Budget and location? Also, get a 390 over a 970. Its faster and has over double the vram, making it more future-resistant

Depends on the 12v rail of the PSU, you need to do a little reseach in the PSU manual to find the right PCI express connector, you need to connect the strongest one you have, dependning on make & quality it is enough but i would't risk it if i had a shifty PSU. but a good make 750w should work. (I'd recommend 850w from good make tho )

Johnnyguru does most PSU reviews so check there to see what it performance is like.

The only downside i see with the 295x2 is the PSU requirement, i dont see a reason not to get it. ( Owner of a 295x2 ) running it with a superflower 1000w. its just about perfect for 1440p gaming, if he has a decent PSU then just go for it.

I used two NF-F12's on my R9 295x2 and had no issues with it, one i connected in the 3pin connector from the GPU, and one i routed from the motherboard and set it up to run quiet, unsure if you can run a splitter off the one that it comes with or if you run into issues.

scale the OC back 10 and try again, if this still crashes  then scale back 10 on the memory, repeat until stable in TF2, or increase voltage and see if that helps.

running my 295x2 at 1080 mhz on the core and still stable in TF2 so idk.

Silverstone makes some very small PSU's, 150mm deep is the smallest non SFX one they have atm

No need, nvidia did the campain by themselves with the price on this card, and since when does a 280 / 280x get too hot for any mini PC's as well as coming in ITX versions like the 960 does, while being better at everything ?.

Definetly wait for the 300 series from AMD to be released, it has everything going for it and will be very interesting, but if you refuse AMD then get a 970 i guess like everyone else.

On monitor its either way, GTX 670 will work fine for a 1080p 120hz screen, while a new GPU is always a solid investment.
