  1. I'm sure Microsoft points is the last thing people in developing countries is concerned with accumulating ?
  2. Seems like it was released in the UK a year or so after the states! https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/6583978/microsoft-rewards-free-starbucks-xbox-bing Pfft, I can't believe Canada complains about getting stuff last - look at us in the UK having to wait an extra year for "Microsoft, The RPG" ?
  3. Turns out this shift happened in 2016, I'm 2 years 2 late! I'm surprised I haven't seen it before - could be due to the unobtrusive ad on the Windows 10 Lock screen, I may not have noticed it. Cheers for letting me know! I guess this post can serve as a reminder/alert for new Windows users and the like. https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-will-son-make-some-big-changes-bing-rewards-including-its-name
  4. This a little different though, it's a reinvented push targeted at a different demographic - mainly gamers it seems. Screenshot shows they've closed Bing Rewards, or at least closed sign ups/down for maintenance. All points towards a replacement
  5. Could this have been a breach of some law somewhere in america? Seems to me a lawyer would advise against making a video like this - thoughts from anyone who knows the law? lol
  6. Thought I'd share this after I was notified about it on my desktop lockscreen. Microsoft seems to be employing a reward scheme to increase their share of the software market. More specifically they're offering rewards for using Bing as a search engine, they reward usage of MSN and they're even rewarding people who have played the latest Forza Game. The rewards are limited to 3 redeemable tasks, ie "use Bing to search 3 times and earn X points". They are also offering bonus tasks to complete for additional points. The UX of the website indicates to me that they're definitely targeting the younger demographic - put it this way, I'd rather be forced to use it for an hour rather than watching a minecraft story mode lets play for 2 minutes. You can redeem points into vouchers and sweepstakes + more and probably more in the future too. Take a look for yourselves: https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/ Personally, I'd check on it every now and then if I receive notifications on it to remind me. Free things is always nice, I guess. But I don't think it's enough to go out of my way to use Bing (haha) for example. I think Microsoft's goals were misaligned here and focused on attracting customers with 'dazzling lights' rather than just improving their product and attracting customers with unique features. What does the LTT community think? https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-will-son-make-some-big-changes-bing-rewards-including-its-name
  7. Yeah looks like this is a necessary deal for me. I'm rocking a microsoft 850 wireless keyboard (several keys dont work because i spilt wine on it) and a RAT 5. RIP me
  8. I wonder if the slow motion has improved since the Note Edge. That'll have to be the feature that's my favorite to the S series and it can only get better!
  9. Well, of o won the 5820k it would be my first Intel chip. That's huge for me and my friends that know me
  10. I think the AMP! Extreme's cooler would fit in beautifully with my 990FXA-UD5 from gigabyte
  11. Source: One Plus - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/week-40-and-so-it-begins-the-oneplus-pre-order-system.117715/ One Plus have announce that they will be introducing a preorder system for their smartphones. Although, they've specified that the invitation system "will exist and serve different purposes.". The only downside with the preorder system is that you wont be sent a One Plus One in stock. It'll be sent "as soon as stock becomes available". A time scale of when that could be wasn't given, and it most likely wont when a customer preorders. One Plus have said that the new pre-order system will be the easiest way to get an OPO but it looks like they are still standing by their invitation system. Personally, after having 2 invites, but not being able to afford to get one at the time of receiving the invite, the pre-order system seems like it'll resolve that problem. It seems like it'll also benefit OPO a great deal, we'll definitely be seeing a lot more of the OPO I think.
  12. This is my first time posting on the forum so please, be gentle.. Source: The Verge - http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/20/6650961/google-is-no-longer-forcing-new-users-into-making-google-plus-accounts Anyway, the article is basically saying that new users to Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs etc can opt-out from creating a G+ account by pressing the 'No Thanks' button at the prompt. I thought Luke would like this, a lot of us all share the common hatred of amazing Google services being overwhelmed with the poor social network.
