  1. Thanks for making it clear. I have turned off multimedia/gaming since it generates a lot of lag (internet lag) in games (weird though). I think it is a limitation of the AC450, it works well with N only at channel 45. I have more settings to set at 5GHz: Transmission Rate: Auto, Use Legacy Rate, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 32 CTS Protection mode: Auto, Disable Beacon Interval: 1-65535 (is at 100) DITM Interval: 1-255 (is at 1) Fragmentation Threshold: 256-2346 (is at 2346) RTS Threshold: 0-2347 (is at 2347) I know that I didn't have transmission rate 32 (6 Mbps) before, maybe because I switched to N only now. I should try it I think. Edit: Nice it works I've seen somewhere a table with the speeds and 36-48 are the slowest class, I think mine cant get past there. It doesn't find 52 so I think this is it.
  2. Hello, I want to speed up my 5GHz by selecting a higher channel, but my usb wifi adapter only reaches till channel 48 (which is on the low side). My stuff: Modem/Router: Cisco EPC3928AD USB Wifi: Edimax AC450 (Drivers v5.1.19.0) Phone: Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 (This device can see all the channels, so I can verify they should work) These are the settings that I can apply at my modem/router (Radio Settings): Wireless Interface: Enabled/Disabled Network Mode: A only, N only, A/N mixed Channel Width: 20MHz only, Auto (20 or 40MHz) Channel: Auto, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136 Extended Channel: 44 (This depends on the channel that you've chosen) SSID | BSSID | SSID Broadcast 5GHz| MAC adress | Yes These are the settings that I can apply at my Wifi usb device: AP Mode Force BW20: Enable/Disable (Not sure what it does) (Default is Disable) Country Region (5GHz): #0 (36-64, 149-165), #1 (36-140), #10 (36-48, 149-165), #11 (36-120, 149-161), #12 (36-140), #13 (52-161), #14 (36-116, 136-165), #15 (149-173), #16 (36-173), #17 (36-64, 132-140), #2 (36-64), #3 (52-64, 149-161), #4 (149-165), #5 (149-161), #6 (36-48), #7 (36-165), #8 (52-64), #9 (36-116, 132-165) (Default is #0 (36-64, 149-165)) IEEE802.11h: Enable/Disable (not sure what this does too) (Default is Disable) Multimedia/Gaming Environment: Enable/Disable (Default is Disable) Radio On/Off: Enable/Disable (Default is Enable) Roaming Sensitivity: 1. (Default is 5) I've tried to change the Country Region (5GHz) to other values, no luck there. I don't know how to get it at a higher channel without dissapearing from my laptop's usb wifi adapter. Any help would be appereciated.
