  1. One BIOS update, couple changes here and there and seems to be working now. Now hoping it continues to do so
  2. CMW64GX4M2D3600C18 x2 I just checked, it's not there but looking QVL's across all boards this set doesn't show up. If I'm lucky it's just because they were not tested... https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/corsair-vengeance-rgb-pro-64gb-2x32gb-ddr4-3600/motherboard I'll go with the above trial and error, and yes I'll keep all 128GB. 1. Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4, 2x32GB 3600MHz; CMW64GX4M2D3600C18 https://pangoly.com/en/review/corsair-vengeance-rgb-pro-64gb-2x32gb-ddr4-3600 2. Two dual kits, both sets brand new 3. Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Thanks, I'll have a look at these now, the only issue is if I don't set it right I have to take one RAM out to boot again then change settings, restart then turn off then install and test again.. sounds like fun... xD I'll keep both, no worries both were brand new in sealed boxes . Both work at 3600 if only 1kit at a time. Seems to be a motherboard+size+speed combination issue. I'll try to OC, give it more V's and see if any results. Otherwise as you say I'll keep the size instead of speed, using it for other applications too where size is more important. I just want to get the speed as it's probably possible so why not :). EDIT1: I accidentally pressed something and sent reply without the replies to each. I will edit again with replies to it. EDIT2: Sorry all there now.
  3. Correct 2x works at 3600MHz no problem. Hmm, can it be that I need to do some OC to the CPU and other settings? Yes I can, that's how it booted up once, accidentally turned PC off while putting the sidepanel back and when I tried starting it I was back to "60" error code and no post. QVL? I found 2 links regarding this term and got a quick understanding of it, will check tomorrow more in depth what this means for me and if I was lucky or not to be in the list. https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/meaning-of-ram-product-item-numbers-codes.3113155/
  4. Hi All, I had the chance to get 3600MHz RAM at an amazing deal but so far have been able to boot the PC only once while at 3600MHz. If I set it to 3200MHz it works without an issue. Does someone know what I should look at to set it and keep it at 3600? Speed is/was never necessary but if it's already there then I don't mind fiddling with it to get it.
  5. I've given up on it, look at my signature, nice PC and peripherals but using a 2014 GPU, the 3080FE for £650 was my choice but definitely not going to pay double that. Sad thing is my laptop works better for games than my PC for this reason .

Planning to get a 3080FE if they ever get available or go with AMD. So case has to fit these in and the arctic liquid freezer II 280 all in one cpu cooler. Motherboard is ATX size. My preferences are in this order: Case as small as possible (i suppose mid tower) To have usb c port and usb 3.2 port in front. Tempered glass preferred And if it's well silenced then even better Budget is £80-120(£138 max) Any opinions? I like MSI one but mixing msi and asus feels strange.
  7. So I have the motherboard and I am supposed to receive the RAM and 5900x CPU tomorrow night. I got the AIO recommended by you after lots of thinking about NH-D15 vs X63 vs Arctic Liquid Freezer II. This arrives tomorrow. I also ordered the Noctua thermal paste NT-H2 which arrives Friday next week so until then I'll either use the one pre-applied to the AIO or if it doesn't have one I still have a dab of E1 IC essential from Cooler Master.
  8. Got the RAM so far and the PSU is what I already have will have to review online if any issues with the 3080 (EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified). So I went with the standard Crosshair VIII Hero, 60A should still be a lot more than needed for the 5900. I got the motherboard with Wi-Fi for only £320 instead of the standard £420. Now I just need to find someone to give me a CPU for me to test it with before the 30d return runs out.
  9. https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/gpu-nvidia/all Same place now a Zotac 3090 in stock. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/zotac-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3090-trinity-24gb-gddr6x-ray-tracing-graphics-card
  10. I would buy the Acer, much better overall. Even if you play FPS games and you'd want the crosshair still not worth the Asus for those features.
  11. I was looking at the wrong one, sorry. Had the Dark Hero specs open by mistake which is 90A but more expensive.
  12. Crosshair is also 90A. I'm okay with the chipset fan but the crosshair doesn't have one so I don't understand why you mention either of these? Thermal paste.. noted. Saved Cooler noted. Will review better once board is bought
  13. While we are at it, is the Kraken X63 AIO CPU Water Cooler - 280mm gonna be enough for the 5900x? Currently in basket:
  14. How about the https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/L23mP6/asus-rog-crosshair-viii-hero-atx-am4-motherboard-rog-crosshair-viii-hero
  15. Godlike is 2.5 times the price of carbon... that's quite frankly too much.
  16. I wasn't talking about godlike, carbon is ATX. Are you trying to say godlike is another good one to look at? How is it better? I'm buying it for the 5900x so I won't be looking at B series. Almost bought it so I'll wait a bit more to see more opinions.
  17. Decided on MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI AM4, cheaper and will only miss out on two things, the USB ports in the back and the 10Gig port both of which I'll have to buy extra. The power delivery is better on the creation but e-atx form factor just makes it a bit so much more unlikable as I'd have to look for bigger cases.. Topic can be closed...
  18. Guys, What are the main differences of the below two motherboards: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI AM4 +I'd buy a 10gb pcie card to fit my 10gig network (extra 40/100) or MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION AM4 Which already has 10gb but £210 more ($276 more)
  19. I didn't mean that one specifically. But rather to look for something similar on a website you can buy from. Look at the title and keywords that you can search with similar models.
  20. Uninstall the driver? Check refresh device manager after uninstalling see if it installs it automatically.. Maybe first download the latest driver in case you get stuck with it not installing automatically
  21. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/one-side-of-headphones-is-working/ae1446a1-60ca-4148-abb1-93ec8916d814 On windows 10: Right Click the little speaker near the clock - Open Sound Settings - on the side of Related Settings click on Sound Control Panel - Select your Playback device "Speaker (Realtek (R) Audio)" I guess - double click - Levels tab - Balance <-- check left and right. Though you might not have balance there in which case I dunno
  22. Oh your temps are during playing AC Odyssey.. damn that's fine bro... anything under 87C you'll be fine. Your throttle point would be 90C. Don't worry about it (Sorry, I thought you said 70-80 in idle)
  23. https://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/407?ci=6 Something like this, now I know what they are called..
  24. You need a power supply that can handle 12v and let the PSU to handle the motherboard and the rest. I don't see why you'd want to connect directly to the motherboard... If you can even find a 12v PSU Maybe something like this http://stcpowertech.com/products/industrial/SFX/45/ Good luck...
